Just got my bonus codes for the avatar stuff and XBL theme emailed to me from GameStop! RDR tonight and this tomorrow night - what a kick ass week for gaming.

Thanks for posting about that. Gmail put the Gamestop e-mail into Spam, and I might not have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. Gotta go check out my new Bright Falls theme now!

I'm trying to watch the webisodes before I go pick the game up tonight but I cant find the last 2 on xbox live. Are they all not on there?

EDIT: nevermind..the last 2 dont hit until the tomorrow...I found them to download though

Can always go to brightfalls.com if needed.

I really, really liked the webisodes. The only thing I didn't get was
when it shows Jake in the bodybag at the edge of the lake. Who was it that dropped him off there and why was he in there? The rest of story was straight forward enough I think, showing how the darkness is slowly turning Jake into one of the taken.

this game is awesome so far. About 30 minutes in and it is gripping from the very start. The flashlight mechanic is crazy good. It is so erie and spooky looking around trying see shit with the little beam of light.

So I've played Episode One and I must say that I love the game so far. The combat and action is extremely smooth. The music is nice. I really enjoy the flashlight mechanic and searching for the yellow arrows and signs.

It reminds me a lot of Silent Hill in a few ways. As well as a few Stephen King stories. X-Files too.

just finished episode one as well. The music, graphics, general feeling of the game are damn good. I'm playing on hard and I am really feeling scared for my character's well being.

EDIT: ok...i really see now where the "set up like a tv show" thing is coming into play....i guess episode one was actually episode one of this "tv series" .... before episode 2 it recaps what has been done .... a voice says "last time on Alan Wake" and you see all the clips of what happened...this is really cool

Done with episode 2. Wow this game nails the creepy atmosphere. I am scared to go on sometimes because of what may be around the corner. What is also nice and different is that you aren't always going to be able to fight off the enemy and will have to run for it sometimes which can be frantic. I hope there aren't anymore driving parts since the driving mechanics/phyics are horrible.

Pretty disapointed with the Collector's Edition. The soundtrack is only 10 songs (most ones included with games are around 17 songs) and the 1 of the premium themes in there is the exact same one you get for pre-ordering the game. Haven't watched any of the videos on the bonus disk or read the novel yet.

How long are the 10 songs? I don't really mind having less tracks, as long as the total amount of music ends up around an hour. If it's more like 30 minutes, that will suck.

About 37 minutes total. :(

Just as a comparison from my collection:
God of War 3 CE- 78 songs (4 digital albums)
Persona PSP- 71 songs (2 discs)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 CE- 31 songs (1 disk)
Dragon Age Origins CE- 18 songs (on same disk as other bonus content)
Tales of Vesperia CE- 22 songs (1 disk, but then code inside box got you 2 more CD's of 21 songs each)
Blazblue CE- 42 songs (2 disks)
Red Alert 3 PC CE- 44 songs (1 disk)
Street Fighter 4 CE- 17 songs (1 disk)
Soul Calibur IV CE guide- 22 songs (1 disk)
Metal Gear Solid 4 CE- 17 songs (1 disk)
Persona 3- 18 songs (1 disk)
GTA 4 CE- 16 songs (1 disk)

Also episodes 5 and 6 of the webseries is now available to download on the Video Marketplace.

Just finished the game this afternoon (place I rent games from broke the street date on Sunday). I loved it, and I'm currently writing my review of it.

@MSUhitman - What do you mean by track info? If you need the names and artists of all the songs in the game, I can get them for you as they all showed up after I beat the game.

Anyone else notice how the end of the last webisode and the beginning of the game don't mesh? They are ferrying into Bright Falls in the game but at the end of the last webisode they are driving on a road and come across the police and the guy's ford focus and drive around the car to get into Bright Falls. I assume that was Alan Wake and his wife at the end of the webisode. Anyone else notice this?

I have no idea how or why I got my LE in the mail today. I had value shipping from gamestop and they overnighted it for some reason. I think I still want to return it though.

Just today I received my Amazon.com Promotional Credit for $10. When should I receive codes for both Alan Wake Theme and Alan Wake "I am Awake" Avatar T-Shirt?

Also, any luck getting amazon to match todays 10 dollar price drop?

edit: I called amazon. They said even though the policy is it has to be a 20 dollar price drop they will redund me 10 this time.

Gamestop.com did street date delivery even on value shipping w/ RDR and Alan Wake. Kudos to them, the site is getting all my business instead of the B&M.

Amazing game.

@MSU - is the music on the soundtrack the score or the actual music that plays at the end of chapters and on the radio stations?

It seems to be a mix of both, I'm pretty sure I heard the song from the end of the first episode when I skimmed through the CD.

The LE looks pretty freaking cool IMO.

Ugh, mine are sitting at the UPS distribution location 10 miles away. They scanned them in for departure at 2PM today, but never delivered them. If they refuse to deliver tomorrow because of a lack of signature, I'm going to flip out.
Someone said they already got to DL the bonus content. Anyone else?
Yeah, Gamestop sent out e-mails yesterday. It hit my spam filter, but thanks to Fjordson's mention of the e-mail, I was able to fish it out of the spam folder.

The Bright Falls Premium Theme is really stinkin' cool. Looks super nice.

I don;t know what it really did but when I opened the game I had a card for an code to input for bonus content. it downloaded a 554MB file but I have no idea what it was for, the box said I would receive an e-mail around July 28th with a code for additional content. Still don;t know what I downloaded lol.

I have played maybe 6-7 hours today and finished the first 3 episodes, I would have played more but My brain needed a break. I mean this game is mentally exhausting. (probably just me lol) I want to trudge on but I am going to take a few days off and try to digest all of this.

My only gripe is the severe lack of ammo in this game, I would LOVE to search out all the Manuscripts but so many times the ones I am missing are areas with nonstop re-spawns and I am out of ammo all the time. I admit I suck at shooters so this also could be me because even with the lack of ammo there are only a few spots that I have gotten so pissed at I have wanted to turn it off.

A couple areas so far are so fuck'ing cheap ! no spoilers but you will know what I am talking about when you get there lol.

This is definitely an AMAZING game. I am so glad I did not get a guide and am enjoying it through not knowing wtf is going on next.

Can I see the marketplace link from your dl history? I am waiting for my game to arrive. I got the Gamestop email for the avatar stuff.

So can anyone tell me if a new normal edition copy comes with the same theme as the CE? I thought I read somewhere on here that it does, but haven't been able to find out a real answer yet.

That was the only part of the CE that interested me, haha

Just got to episode 4. Gonna keep going till my eyes won't stay open :)

Kind of a repetitive game, but the shooting feels excellent, the weather/lighting effects are pretty sweet, and the writing/story/atmosphere are top notch

No, if you pre-ordered you got the Bright Falls theme. The collectors edition comes with another theme, I think It's called Elderwood or something and it blows the Bright Falls theme out of the water IMO. It also comes with an avatar shirt/scarf thing and some gamer pics.

I youtube'd both of them and Bright Falls is the one I wanted, haha. Elderwood seems like the same thing only with a night time shot.

On the off chance someone has a Bright Falls code they don't want, shoot me a PM and maybe we can work something out!

This game is so intense. And the small details are what's really elevating this for me. The song playing on the first radio on episode 1 is so bad ass.

Also, at the very start of episode two, the two manuscript page
excerpts from Max Payne are so fucking awesome. I was a huge fan of those games. I pretty much lost my shit when I heard the Max voice over

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that noticed. I flipped big time. They also used the
"door locked" sound from the Max Payne games.

and lol @
"HE took out your men? Come on, are you serious? He wears a jacket made from tweed! Over."

favorite game of 2010 so far confirmed. Heavy Rain held this spot previously, but I have to give this game the slight edge because I love a good story and this one has more twists and turns than anything.. It's like a more twisted version of Memento.

I haven't played Heavy Rain as I don't have a PS3, but this by far is my Game of The Year. Will be getting a PS3 though as I am can't wait to play Heavy Rain much longer.
the 500 meg download from the included code is a video with the devs
thanks do i access it in game? I wasn't sure what this was

Anyone else look forward to the next installment of Night Springs as you go through the game? I love watching these things! There has got to be a making of/outtakes vid for the Night Springs episodes since they are live action. I would really love to see something like that come out.

What the shit Gamestop? I preordered the CE online and I just get an email now saying it just shipped. Granted I picked the cheapest shipping option, but why didn't this ship on Monday? Good thing I bought RDR in store yesterday.

Beat Chapter 2 last night. Man this game just gets creepier and creepier. I'm really diggin' the songs at the end of the episodes and just the fact that it is episodic is awesome.

Also, the hunting rifle is awesome.

Now that it's out, does anyone have any thoughts on the Limited? I went into Best Buy today to see if they had it and they were sold out. (Apparently, they got 2 copies. According to the internet, one store that's not too far has it)

I kinda want it and I have $65 in Best Buy space bucks. Is it worth it?

have not received amazon promos yet..

This game is freaking awesome...completed chapter 1 last night. I am loving it.

Graphics and atmosphere are great!
