CAG Gaming Group - Call of Duty 4 Thursdays

i don't recall using the stun grenade much but i do recall many of the times i did get hit with one.
All i did was stare at the corner of where it came from, the player that chucked it will come around and i would just pick him off.
I move slow but i can still move my aim to the corner in time.
Stuns don't usually work against me at all so i tend not to use them myself.
But i do get hit with the stun+frag combo.
 
I use stuns when playing any sort of team based game type. As others have mentioned, the stun + frag combo is very effective. Especially when playing headquarters or domination. Plus, it annoys the hell out of me when I die to the combo, so I am sure it annoys opponents as well.

I only use flash bangs when playing FFA.
 
Just as an update, I went through the friend requests for CAGCOD4 and added them in order. I didn't check what the total is at this point though, so I'll do that sometime soon. Should be up to date for now though.
 
Hope to be on tonight after being out of town the past couple of weeks. Unforutunately, I've came down with a sinus infection, so it will be a gametime decision on whether I have the energy for it vs. just passing out after Lost. :(

Yep, already have one of those and use it regularly. Actually, stopped using that model and switched to the neilmed one that's a squirt bottle. Much easier to use, especially when you're very congested.

Went to the dr. earlier and got some strong antibiotic, so hopefully I'll kick this one quick. Have too much going on at work not to.
 
I'm hoping to get on tonight for the first time in a while but we'll see. I have an exam tomorrow and frisbee practice until 11:30 tonight

I'll be on tonight, so hopefully I'll be playing with a few of you. I was doing pretty terrible last night, but maybe I'll be in proper form tonight. I've realized I go through streaks of being completely unstoppable, to being completely mediocre.

I think that has more to do with who your game pairs you up with and how they split up the teams. I was in a game where one team (my team) was all non-prestige players level 45-55 and the other team were all prestige players from level 1 prestige and up.

We got smoked, bigtime.

I know how you feel, the other night I went 28-5 and after an hour I went 4-18 :whistle2:#

I'll be on a from 6:45-9pm PST and again at 10 and so on.
 
I think we need to change either the day or time of the 'official' game night. I've been on every Thursday night at 9:00pm Eastern and there is never anyone on. Just now there were two other CAGs playing COD4 and only one was playing on live.

And even when we have a decent number of people, they're always jumping off when Lost plays in their timezone.
 
I'll be getting online shortly.....I can play until late (around this time) since I've got to wait for the family to go to bed.

Yeah Sounds like a good idea, especially for people who watch lost (me) and have to leave after a match to go watch the show.

Speaking of which, I will be back in an hour, so send an invite when I get back on.
 
I managed to play one game against Team CAG, and killed a bunch of you. :mrgreen: ;) After that, I went back to my manga reading, 'cause I'm a nerd. :oops:
 
i was on tonight for a couple of games with cag, thx woodcan for getting me in.
i liked the domination on vacant round where i got 34k 10d due to me spamming the m60 :D.
Had 4 airstrikes and 1 helo.
It was fun.
 
xcoax, woodcan, and I had a pretty close and fun team tactical match with a small clan, we lost bye 20 pts at the end, but that team was struggling and didn't want to play us. Great games tonight with everyone though.
 
Sorry I didn't make it last night, just wasn't feeling up to it.

Agree with the other poster than another day would be better. With Lost on I can't hop on until 10, so I only have an hour or so to play before I need to head to bed.
 
I've noticed there's usually a ton of people playing on Friday nights too unofficially, so I guess that it doesn't really need to change. I mean, most nights I'm playing there's usually enough CAGs playing to where we can at least get a decent six man team together.

Agreed. I think every night is quickly becoming COD 4 night, so I'm not even sure if we need a designated "day" to play.

But, that's just me though. I'm sure it's easy for others to designate time to play during certain days.
 
A lot is gonna change when Vegas 2 comes out and I think we are all waiting here to see if there will be a Cag Vegas 2 Gaming Group/Night.

Really? Because I absolutely hated the first game's online play. I thought the lobby system was completely broken. I would always get into a lobby 10 seconds after a game started and have to either sit there until that game ended, or try to get into another lobby. That, and the match setups were so specific that it was impossible to find or get people to join a single game that I wanted to play.

I've realized that literally every Ubisoft title that has come out for the 360 has been a complete disappointment for me, and therefore I have sworn off ever buying another.

Well this can either go one of two ways; CAGs play RSV2 and like it better then COD4, or CAGs are spoiled by the gameplay of COD4 and continue to play it nightly. I'm most likely not going to jump ship and play more RSV2, only because COD4's online multiplayer has given me a rich online shooter experience.

Oh, and I have a love hate relationship with Ubisoft, only because of Assassins Creed.
 
I didn't play with ya'll last night because I was completing a 1100/1100 achievement run on Bioshock. My buddy lent it to me earlier in the week and I wanted to get all 1100 achievements in a single run so I could give it back faster. Happy to report I succeeded. Anywho now that I'm on the CAGCOD4 list, I might just pop in a few games if I see people on. I'll have the [CAG] tag so you'll know why Im there.
 
Yep, tons on and good games tonight.

Sorry for being pretty much mute, still feeling shitty so just had my mic muted so you guys didn't have to listen to me sniffling and sneezing all night. :D

Godammit!...i got about 5 invites from CAG members but i could never join or host a game without getting the "Unable to connect to Host ERROR" message....It killed my game and im off of it for tonight
 
That patch really makes the game feel new. Well I'm gone again for the weekend and probably will not be on till Wednesday, since I have a friend coming in from Utah and we are going to a Linkin Park concert on tuesday and a Foo Fighters concert on thursday. So I'll catch everyone on wednesday if I have a chance.
 
Thanks to everyone that recommended stun grenades. Im running 3x of them now and man is it great. I chuck my stuns at hit them with the uzi spray. I've gotten much better with the uzi. I realized its not a gun you L-aim with. I just unlocked the silencer too so its even better.
 
A lot of fun games last night, with the exception of FullMetal's nonsensical ramblings. Nuclear zombies are only fun to talk about for about 5-10 minutes.

I'll stop you right there, buddy. This may be news to you, but Chuck Norris is no longer cool. He's a bat**** insane evangelic Christian who wants science out of our classrooms and praying in school constitutionally amended. Check Youtube for some of his crazy and eerie, family-wholesome Christian ads. I believe he even denounces science in one of them.

P.S.: I'm not against Christians or anything, just the radical and overzealous kind.

P.S.S.: To stay on topic, I feel like Im not getting any better. I basically get as many deaths as kills at this point and I don't know how to improve my game. Right now I'm sticking with SMGs (Mini Uzi w/ silencer) and while I'm doing alright, I find myself losing in Close-Quarters often, which should not happen with a SMG against an AR. Is it because the enemy is aiming earlier than me? Any advice?

As someone has mention already, when in extreme close quarters don't aim down the sites with the smgs.
It wont improve accuracy that much at that range and it will only make you aim slower.
If the range is a little further you can shoot into an aim, start firing when you see them and then press the L trigger when you think you got them centered so you don't have to move the crosshair much, all of its gotta be real fast.
Even with M4 and AKs sometimes spamming it real quick on the enemy at that range will do the job.
Put in stopping power so that you take them down quicker and steady aim to have better accuracy.
I don't use smgs that often so this is just what i can think of on the spot.

I think id prefer that to listening to obnoxious elmo voices/noises endlessly.
 
AWESOME games tonight guys, glad I got on when I did. I think we won all the games we played, except the last few because I was super tired =P and those guys were pretty good.
 
Good games last night - I haven't played since the patch, and it seemed like everyone and their brother were using snipers and ACOG rifles. The grenade spam team on Wet Works was damn annoying. It was a good feeling to kick the crap out of them in the next match.

The highlight of the night for me was patently waiting for an enemy sniper to climb to the top of one of the missile launchers on Countdown. Took him about 25 seconds or so (he missed a few jumps). I let him get all set in his position and then gave him quick burst from a few yards away with my SMG. I had to smile as I am sure that he was none too pleased. Normally, I would have killed him an moved on, but that glitch really annoys me for some reason.

Hey, DC is back! How was the bachelor's party?

I've got a small break in midtermapalooza 2008, so I'll be playing tonight around 10 eastern. Hopefully I'll see a few of you then.
