So, I didn't feel much like playing after UT's disappointing loss to UCLA last night so I just watched a little more TV and went to bed.
As far as all this class talk goes, I too use every single slot for different weapons. My setup kind of mirror's Jim's in that I have the LMG for choppers and sniper for fun and some assortment of Assault and SMGs making up the last three. I haven't really used the M-16 since I completed the challenges, the G36c now occupies that slot.
As far as Hardcore goes, every slot for me has sleight of hand. UAV jammer is only worth having for 30 seconds at a time during the UAVs, while sleight of hand is useful the entire round as you're reloaded and ready to go in half the time. I'm a compulsive reloader anyway and I do it pretty much every time I shoot the gun, so it's awesome for me. I've personally been loving the M4 for hardcore as it's pretty accurate and able to fire full auto for close range or I can just squeeze off one or two for long range.
I agree that the silencer is pretty worthless in hardcore as there's no radar in the game and when they call in the UAV they can see you anyway even if you're not shooting. I'd go with the red dot and start aiming down the sights Shan.
sleight of hand is great for people who reload often, but i only reload when i feel it is necessary and very rarely ever run into any trouble from it. a quick swap to the pistol usually can save me if someone is getting close to me while i reload and since the pistol is basically the same as all the other weapons in hardcore, it works fine.
uav jammer and a silencer (with my smg) has been great for hardcore. if your team doesn't die often then a uav jammer is kind of a waste, but i don't trust my team enough (doesn't matter who i play with) that i am willing to take off uav jammer. even if it is for only 30 seconds, during that 30 seconds the other team usually lets their guard down since they have the uav up and i can slip in behind them and take out an entire team. i usually get anywhere from 25-40 kills in hardcore mode with all but my sniper and lmg setups, so i think i will stick with my uav jammer even if it is "worthless".
i honestly just suggest trying out different perks and finding what is good for you. while uav jammer works out well for me, sleight of hand works out better for someone like hamster. it is all a matter of prefernce and what you are good with. someone like me who has somewhere around 40 days played between my 2 names should be able to use anything at anytime and have no problem. someone who has under 5-10 days will likely have a much more difficult time doing what i do, especially since a lot of people have close to the same amount of time played as me, if not more.
