CAGFC (UFC 2009 League) - HW's Only! New Site! Details Inside!

Daniel Ortiz | Matt Cracker | Kimura @ 1:48 of Round 3

Yeah, I don't think I'm getting the title back anytime soon. Sleepy's transitions are constant and fast. I've got to get the timing down for transition reversals online if I ever hope to survive another fight with this guy.

Saginaw, MI (AP) - Reigning CAGFC Heavyweight Champion, Gary Russell's second successful title defense against I Am DrP1zza has sent DrP1zza reeling. The former title contender was seen yesterday in a nearby McDonald's filling out yet another job application.

When asked about his reason for being there, DrP1zza snarled and said "This country is a joke! Brack Obama says he's helpng me. He aint helping me! I'm just tired of it. I can't even win the CAGFC championship or get a job at McDonald's! I don't know what's harder: finding a girlfriend, winning the CAGFC championship, or getting a job at McDonald's.

All women care about is the money anyway! You don't believe me? YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME??? Well, how about I eat this cat food?! Is that enough to prove it to you?!? Does that make any sense?!? There! How you like that?"

Due to his continuous mental instability, I Am DrP1zza was released from his CAGFC contract, and replaced with...amazingly enough...Fedor Emelianenko! Wow, talk about trading garbage for gold! Just when you think he's going to go to the UFC, he ends up in CAGFC! Look for Emelianenko to make his debut at CAGFC10!

In other news, it now appears that there are two Ortiz's holding belts in CAGFC. As Eric Ortiz once again successfully defended his Middleweight title, his brother, Daniel, defeated Matt Cracker to take over the Light Heavyweight belt. Utilizing his ground game, Ortiz beat Cracker with a kimura submission at 1:48 of the third round.
CONGRATS DANIEL!

As the AP report stated, I Am DrP1zza will no longer be fighting. I'm replacing him with...

Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 235lbs
Fighting Styles: Boxing/Judo
Overall Rating: 64

Still guiding him through his career, but I like where I've got him so far. :)

UFC sold 2.9 million units worldwide.
Where are your numbers from? According to vgchartz.com it's about 2.2 with about 3/4's of the sales coming from the 360.

See for yourself.

Your math is a bit off. vgchartz shows 1.3 for the 360 and 0.9 for the PS3...which gives you the total of 2.2. 13/22 = .59. So, it's only 59% of sales coming from the 360.

Shipped vs Sold.

Either way, that's a good number.

411Mania has run a couple tournaments that I've participated in, and they're having their first real card soon. But that's on a much smaller scale, and far less organized than this one. Plus it uses real UFC fighters.

Seen and Sood, I think I see what the problem is. Seen is talking about the amount of copies sold; Sood is talking about how many have shipped.

EDIT: Cracker beat me to it.
Either way, that's a good number.
Yeah, I agree with this. Either way, it's pretty impressive for a sport that EA said there was no market for just a short year ago (and said it wasn't even a sport). You really have to wonder what fighters/sponsors they're even going to have in their MMA game. What are they going to do? Make a Strikeforce game? Haha...the ONLY thing that could get me to buy that would be Gina Carano. Hell, they'd be better off putting her on the cover, rather than Randy.
Does anyone here fight in other leagues? Or just here?
Yeah, I fight in the Impact Fighting Championship. It,s got quite a few fighters. But it's not as laid back as here, but it's fun.

Jeremy Hill - Jason Hart - TKO - 4:19 of Rd. 2

Hill pulled off a win over Hart with a lackluster performance. Both fighter landed vicious combo's in the 1st. Hill came out full fury in the 2nd wearing down hart with his speed and knocking him down with a devastating body shot. Standing over his woozy opponent Hill delivered the final blows to clinch the win!!!
Great fight MSUHitman

All right guys, we've got about 24 hours to the deadline for CAGFC9. It looks like we've only got 3 fights that still need to be completed.

Michael Klein vs Joseph Garcia (LH)
Brandon Craig vs Shaun Parent (HW)
Ash Cambell vs Captain Caveman (LW Title)

Good job getting the other 11 fights completed guys, but let's try to get these last 3 done! I'm excited about getting to CAGFC10 (with new members even!). 2.5 months of steady weekly cards is a nice accomplishment, I think. Let's keep it going!

Michael Klein | Joseph Garcia | KO 3:00 Rd. 2

I would like to point out as the lowest rated fighter in light heavy I always hold my own and sometimes win. Just goes to show that rating isnt everything and that anyone with a lower rated fighter should not be intimidated to sign up.

I don't understand why I suck so much at this. I'm 20-10 in ranked matches and 1-6 in this league. It's so discouraging. Nice job Zoidberg.

I see who is listed for each division, but which division do you guys think could most use a new fighter? I'm tempted to create another character for another weight class.

Well, honestly, they're more balanced now than they've ever been. So, really, whichever weight class fits your preferred fighting style. For instance, if you go through the Lightweight career, you'll face mostly Boxing/Wrestling guys. Middleweight has more Muay Thai/BJJ guys. And Light Heavyweight has several Kickboxing/BJJ guys. We're probably a little more varied in CAGFC, but just look at the fighters and see who you'd match up well against and enjoy fighting.

PM'd Ash Campbell
Sorry I've had a week of out of town guests and haven't really been able to get time to
finish the fight.
I will be on tonight right after I get home at 10pm Eastern all night.
Hope that works, it's gonna be a sick rematch! I just knows it...

I wish the patch would get here. Despite winning 75% of my ranked matches, I don't want to do any more until the patch that bands 119 overalls and such is implemented. Also, it's supposed to fix the submission system, and I want to be able to get the sub of the night and "all trophies" achievement for the career of my 3rd and final CAGFC fighter.

I hope I'll be, but if so it might be much later than that as I have plans late tonight that I really can't change. I'll try, I definitely want to get the fight done.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I missed you by 14 minutes according to XBL. Damnit.
Ah, that sucks guys. I'm going to have to give a forfeit to Captain Caveman. It's unfortunate, but since Tuff admitted he's been unavailable most of the week and only gave about 2 hours of time before the deadline to get the fight in, he'll have to take the blame for this one. As I've told others though, it's no big deal. In this sport, losses are easy to come back from.

CAGFC9 results have now been finalized, and the card for our milestone show, CAGFC10 will be posted tomorrow. We've had quite a few additions to the roster this past week, so there will be a good amount of fights on this card. It's going to be a great one! Stay tuned! :)

Patch has arrived!!!!!! but it shows DNF's even if your opponet quits. It says I have 46 DNF's and have never quit. Seems harder to score flash K.O.'s which is a good thing.
Happy fighting and a big fuck You to you cheaters out in video game land you are busted .......Oh wait everyone has DNF's

Boy, a forfeit for a title fight. Capt caveman came down with the flu?
I missed Whipt by about a half hour when I logged on at 10 and he missed me by 15 min at 230. I almost played a couple more ranked matches too.

Sorry I was out of the loop most of the week, but this week I will be on in the evenings for sure.
With the new patch out, I will be trying to rank up.
My first ranked match out the gate with the new patch, and the guy quit on me when I locked in a sub.
What an A-hole. Now at least we can see the quitters, has anyone else seen people with over 100% DNF?

Well its going to get better, the DNF are pre-patch. I have been quit on twice now after patch and it doesn't show new DNFs for me. The quitter gets a DNF and a loss. I think I get the win, but no points. Also the % is the big thing. If someone is over 20-30% DNF that can't be ALL other people dropping out on them, right?

I cant get the patch until later but does it actually give me a win if someone quits? Because I should have around another 20-30 wins its I would hate see this continue.

I have heard DNF is messed up though beacuse it counted DNF for both parties pre patch. Like I said I had around 20-30 quits on me and I will be pissed if it shows me a high DNF. I have quit maybe 6 matches (all of which were vs 115 car that I wanted to see if I could still beat) so I know I have a little.

How is the ground reversal? That seemed almost at random before as you could block while in mid punch most of the time.

All right guys, sorry for the delay, but the card for CAGFC X: UNSTOPPABLE is now up! I would have just posted it last night when I finalized the CAGFC9 results (as it was finished and ready), but I waited because someone told me they wanted to make a banner for the milestone show. As of right now, I still don't have it though, and I can't hold up the card any longer.

Also, since the card was completed last night, Shaun Parent is on it. I appreciate him announcing his retirement the morning a new card is due to be posted. That's really helpful. I can only hope that he can find the time for this one last fight, so somebody doesn't get stuck without an opponent (especially since I went to extra lengths to make sure nobody had to sit for this card). Otherwise, we'd need a replacement of either Kimbo Slice, Jay Gillums, or Tyler Wilson to come off the shelf.

Minus that headache, CAGFC X is going to be a great show! We see the debut of our own Fedor Emelianenko against newcomer Matt Paulson. The return of Roy Jones Jr to once again take on Jason Hart. And some great title matchups, capped off by a blockbuster Light Heavyweight bout between new champion Daniel Ortiz and Small Light Smurf. Personally, I can't wait to see how these fights turn out!

The deadline for CAGFC X: UNSTOPPABLE fights is Thursday, 8/6 at 11:59 PM EDT.

What the hell? Why wouldn't they clear out all the DNF's since even the non-quitters got a DNF too pre-patch?
What the hell? Why wouldn't they clear out all the DNF's since even the non-quitters got a DNF too pre-patch?
Yeah they didn't clear the previous DNFs which count for both fighters, which is weak. Also some folks on gamefaqs are saying that you only get wins if the person quits when they tap or get KOed...but most of the people I've had quit on me when they've been rocked or in the second parts of the submission animation. Plus if you get the win via DC the other person doesn't lose points against their level and you don't get any points to advance in levels either.
Plus if you get the win via DC the other person doesn't lose points against their level and you don't get any points to advance in levels either.
Well, not getting the points, I could understand. I've seen other sports games have that same problem. Basically, if a matchup is not completed, the game doesn't know how to assign the points. My guess is the logic THQ was using is this wouldn't be an issue because if people are receiving losses for quitting, they would stop quitting.

I'd really be shocked if the game didn't give you a win if people quit earlier in the fight though (ie. rocked or 2nd stage sub). The only reason I could see for that is that technically the fight isn't over, and the other person COULD still come back from that. But really, any time someone disconnects...at any point in the fight, they should receive a loss. Simple as that.

Even if your connection craps out three seconds into the fight, you should get a loss. It's tough luck, but it would be easier to justify that than allowing people to continue to be douchebags. I'm curious to see how it works when I hop on the game later tonight.
I'm ready to fight now.
Try pm'ing your opponent, if he doesn't respond within 24hrs; post here asking him when is convenient.

Tuffgong can we fight late tonight? Like 12 pm eastern time? I've got work until late everyday this weekend.

Of course, I'm the opponent. I hope I don't have another fight not happen.

Gary, I am going out to stay with some friends in Perris tonight and celebrate my birthday. Not sure what time I'll be home tomorrow, if at all, but I can play Sunday.

Also, happy 25th birthday to cgarb84. Maybe the fact that we were born 1 day apart is why our fights have been so close, LOL.

Matt, do you think my connection is good enough to play online with? I've played with you a few times here recently and was wondering how the lag was. I played a few matches last night and one guy accused me of having a lag switch.

I'd like to test a few matches against other people to see if my connection is good enough to participate in this. If it is, I'm going to make a fighter sometime soon. He'll either be a heavy or middleweight.
