Godhand is only going to be $30.00? :D
Yep. Been listed as $30 for quite a while at Gamestop. It's nice because now you don't actually have to think about buying the game -- just go git' it!

I think I will, it looks pretty amusing. I just need to be careful where I spend my money. I have to save up for the Wii... :D

Most important question Markman

If it is the Collector's version, is UMK3 a true perfect port, or at least damn close? Also, could you look at my post from before(first post on page 10) and give me some advice when you get the time?? I know you'll know the answer.

jimfoley16: Yes the actual joystick can be replaced, I've seen a few SFAC sticks with either Sanwa or Seimitsu sticks. Mounting the stick inside may be a bit tricky though because the mounting holes for a HAPP stick and a Japanese stick are different. There are HAPP lollipop sticks but I wouldn't recommend them for fighting games. I'll try to do some more research for you to see if anyone actually posted pictures of the mounting process.

About MK: A. It just came in the mail today, I haven't had a chance to try it. I still have to pick it up from the head honcho. :) But for sure I'll answer any/all questions to my fellow fighting game freaks.

I do remember though at E3 when playing it, the game had some of the same broken stuff from MK: D. While I didn't test a lot of things, BRC's f+3 in weapon stance still granted a free throw and Scorpion still had his weapon f+1 into spear.

I just watched some konquest stuff and can honestly say It's going to be hard for me to not get it... I'm just pissed since it's going to suck away some money I'm saving for a Wii... >_

Thanks MM. Don't worry about looking into the lollipop, because honestly if it's a pain in the butt I'll just use a bat stick. It's not the end of the world. Thanks for the help though.
And I totally agree, FFXII is the shit!

Looking forward to the MK impressions. Looking forward to picking that up later in the week.

Well after realising whats comming out over the weeks, I realize I'm going to have to hold off on some titles but maybe none if I can get some trade-ins to work out well... I know I can get Godhand for about $10 through some deals, so MK may not be so big of a blow to my wallet. Factor in Lumines Live and UMK3 and that's about $25 more... after that I'll have to wait for a price drop on Killzone on PSP and Contact... I needs mys Wii money >_

From Magic Box:
Idea Factory will release the PSP version of the arcade fighting game Spectral vs. Generation in Japan on October 26, 2006.

Finally I can play this game. Thank God for the PSPs region free goodness.
Yeah, Guile owns. But Rolento pwns.
I agree. I prefer Rolento myself.

I don't know why, but I always like the "military" type characters.

On Gamespot's On the Spot show, it was reported that the next episode of SF: The Later Years is coming out in a month and they hope to keep that schedule for future installments... dunno if that was posted yet.

Awesome. I'm hoping that when Zangief gets stronger again, he will go back to that arcade and beat the shit out of that nerd.

I hope you're not disappointed when you finally get your hands on it like I was.

wow... it's probably the hair thing >_<

I'm the same... primarily a military fighter person.

nice change gigan ;)

Awwww, Gigan just wants some attention. Sorry if I may sound insolant, but who's Camila Sodi? Isn't she the super secret unlockable fighter exclusive to the extremly rare Saturn version of Street Fighter Ex plus Alpha? I'm 95% sure she is.
Anyone check out the Street Fighter Legends comic yet? Issue 2 just came out this week.
I'm so out of the comic book loop I could kick myself... I need to catch up on hellboy, punisher, and goon... after that I'll catch up on what I've missed so far on SF since the first Udon series was probably the best plotted SF storyline ever written.
The SF Legends comic is based on Sakura. It's decent. A totally diffrent direction then the main series.
If it has Dan, then I'm in.

Speaking of Street Fighter comics, anyone know if they sell the Trade paperback in non-manga size? I don't want it small...

Also, again (sort-of) speaking of Street Fighter and comics, I won a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 tournament at my local shop tonight. I got a grab bag of promo schwag from Gamestop (a bunch of good stuff actually) and a 25 dollar gift certificate to the comic store. I used the Gift Certificate to get 2 of the Udon studios Street Fighter posters ("World Warrior" and the Sakura door poster). I also picked up the Udon studios Ryu door poster for 12 dollars. Good times!

Best part was in the finals, after the first match of the series (best out of 3), the kid put his controller down and just left. He was so pissed hahaha. I was playing Blackheart and using Sentinel's Ground Type assist. Not a particularly good trap by any means (Blackhearts jump strong kick, air dash, strong kick, land & assist, repeat) but it worked out and apparently really ticked him off. Fun times.

Unfortunately, now I have to wake up for work in 4 hours. And I still haven't freakin ordered my Happ stick/buttons yet!

man, nothing gets past rodimus! he not only picked out the correct game, but also knew the correct system she appeared in. Bravo Rodimus.... Bravo.

and yeah, lately I've felt like an attention whore.

jimfoley:: congrats on the victory! I've been emanign topick up some of those posters, but I'm a bit too poor to do so at the moment.

That's why I make the quizzes my friend. I know all :whistle2:--)

If you go there and look at the Street Fighter THE ULTIMATE EDITION Hard Cover that has the complete first series of the comic in it. I'm pretty sure it's not the small paperback size. That's all I know of though.

Can't take the heat, don't get in the kitchen. Good job. He probably walked off thinking you were cheap.
Man, I had no clue Rolento was also in Final Fight 2.
Yeah, he's pretty relentless... one might say.
Guy, Cody, Rolento, Sodom, Andore and Maki made it into one on one fighters. I wonder why Haggar didn't?
Perhaps he would've been too similar to a character like Zangief? I'm not really sure, but he did make it into backgrounds in the SFA series. There was some shitty Final Fight fighting game on the Saturn (Revenge I believe) and that might've had Haggar as a playable character... but yeah, he's the one character that constantly gets omitted.

Yea, he is really similar to Zangief, espically in Final Fight 3.

Carlos, Lucia, and Dean never made it into any fighters... they all suck though, with the exception to Lucia.

Final Fight 3 is badass, everyone should definitely try it.

Hmm? I'd say if Haggar was in Street Fighter he'd be more like Balrog mixed with Zangief but a slightly bit faster

Charge moves like Balrog, with some throws like Zangief, but able to pull of more combos due to speed and smaller size.

What consoles is Final Fight 3 available on?

SNES.

Haggar did make it into Saturday Night Slammasters. In Zangief's story it said his Spinning Clothesline was inspired by Haggar. They pretty much have the same style.

Also, wasn't Haggar suposed to be in that 3D Capcom All-stars game that got canceled a while ago? And thanks for reminding me about Final Fight 3. I'm gonna put that on my want list right now.

Thanks for the praise, guys. It was pretty fun.

and yeesh, I wish that I didn't have to spend 70 dollars in order to get the non-manga sized Street Fighter TPB's. I think I'll pass for now - we'll see.
jimfoley -- Congrats on the win, brother. Who did you use for the win?
Black Heart (Anti-Air), Sentinel (Ground), Cable (Anti-Air)

Do you remember who he used?

And you guys know so much about fighters, I'm the biggest newbie here.

unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), it's a lot more cost effective to just bring the manga sized versions over rather than do a regular sized trade nowadays. comics aren't hot sellers as it is, so everybody is doing what they can to minimize costs on niche TPB's.

Nah I don't really remember

I remember that he didn't pick Cable, Magneto or Sentinel.

Yeah man it sucks. Aren't the Manga sized ones black and white as well? ARGH! Man I really want to read the comic. Hmm....

How did he even get to the final by not using the big 3? Did he at least have Storm?

sounds like it was a local comic shop tourney.. i tried running stuff like that in the comic shop i used to work for since we had a mvc2 machine, but it was mostly just me beasting on casual and mediocre players with cammy/sentinel/commando. i think one time it was me vs some dude in the finals and he was using doom/thanos/magneto.
