Chris Benoit's wrestling topic

Yeah, this is the first year that i'm going to break tradition and not order WM. The lineup looks pretty bad and the price ($50?) is insane.
The ladies buy the last two so they can take advantage of his slick moveset (and break his N-Gage at the club).
lmao.. you have a good memory.

Moveset..lmao..

yea i think i had mentioned i had lost my original ngage.. i didnt have one for a long time but just recently a friend gave me his qd... so i actually use it again every now and then.. always carry wwe aftershock!

Yea and wm's have been $50 for a while if im correct

So what was the first WM you all ordered? Mine was IX; I was so stoked to be ordering a PPV that I didn't realize what a shitty show it truly was.
i never saw this before... but im crying from laughing so hard.

WTF?

First he uses the word jabroni...

Then he uses all manner of homosexual slurs about B. Brian Blair, says he hates people who are the f-word, then he says "I'll fuck your ass make you humble"? :rofl:Make up your mind!

I wonder what brought all of that on?

haha i dont know but one thing is for certain that was fucking amazing!

Fantastic link OTM. It's funny to think that a former legendary wrestler is adorned in some of the cheesiest purchased wrestling memorabilia out there; he looked like some of the jackass wrestling fans in the front row of any given show, carrying around their $200 replica titles.

Funnier than any speech he made (which I assure you is damned funny) is an American flag do-rag. That's too much for me; I laughed so hard the entire department knew I wasn't getting any work done!

I think Storm is dead right on his WM predictions, although I disagree with the SD! title finish he suggests. I think it's the best idea, but that's obviously the one WWE won't go with. Everything else is, IMO, correct, though a bit different than I'd predict.

Take what Storm said, except for the following, as my predictions:

SD! Title: Orton wins

JBL - Benoit: JBL wins

MiTB: Lashley wins (though if not him, certainly RVD)

I agree with all his picks except Angle is going to retain and I think Ric Flair is going to win MiTB.

my reasoning is Batista is coming back and an Angle/ Batista Summer Slam match seems like it would be a smart way to go with the title. Angle has also gotten himself over since going to Smackdown and I really don't want to see him lose it. As far as Ric Flair winning MiTB, RVD has been buried on Raw and having him win would go aganist the companies policy to try and make RVD an asset on Raw. Ric Flair had a good fued with HHH and considering the bleakness of the Raw title picture it seems the only way that it would make sense.

The handy thing about Angle is he can easily get over as a heel or a face, so I'm sure keeping the title on him would be the safest move. Vince has really been kind of out there lately though, so Mysterio winning would not shock me at all.

Chris Benoit vs. JBL - Benoit retains (via the Crossface), too many U.S. Title changes, like Storm said.

Booker T & Sharmell vs. The Boogeyman - Boogeyman (via pin-fall) wins in a squash (this really makes me cringe).

Kane & The Big Show vs. Carlito & Chris Masters - Carlito & Chris Masters win (via Masters and Carlito both pinning TBS) and become new World Tag-Team Champions. The tag-team division needs life.

Trish vs. Mickie James - Mickie James wins (via pin-fall) and becomes the new WWE Women's Champion. Trish has held the belt for too long, and this could spice up the women's division a bit.

The Undertaker vs. Mark Henry - Do I really have to say who wins?

Edge vs. Mick Foley - Edge wins (via pin-fall).

Shawn Michaels vs. Vince McMahon - Shawn Michaels wins (via the Sharpshooter).

Money in the Bank Ladder Match - Everyone thinks that this is between RVD and Flair, but I think I'm going to use this match to make a bold prediction: Matt Hardy wins the match.

Triple H vs. John Cena - I really don't think this match is a foregone conclusion yet. I don't think the decision has been made as to who wins this match, and probably won't be made until right before Wrestlemania. I think Cena will retain, feud with Triple H for a while, and then make his long awaited heel turn.

Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio - Honestly, I don't think Angle will lose this one. Although, I would not be surprised if Orton or Mysterio get the win. Angle vs. Batista will draw more than Orton/Mysterio against him, and the World Heavyweight Championship has a history of being held for quite a while. Kurt Angle wins (via the ankle-lock on Orton) to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Chris Benoit vs. JBL: Benoit

Booker T vs. The Boogie Man: Boogie Man

Kane & Show vs. Carlito & Masters: Carlito & Masters

Lingerie Pillow Fight: Don't care

Trish vs. Mickie James: Mickey James

Taker vs. Mark Henry: Taker

Edge vs. Mick Foley: Edge (Early prediction I think the next RAW PPV will feature Edge vs Cena Vs HHH)

HBK vs. Vince: Vince

Money in the Bank:RVD

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio: Mysterio

HHH vs. Cena: Cena (possible title change on RAW)

Am I the only one who thought Foley watched "The Princess Bride" this weekend and found inspiration for tonight's promo against Edge?

Oh, and fuckin' SD JONES!!!! To quote guyver, omg!

After the main event, I have the urge to boot up the N64 and do the dreaded test of strength move, just so I can compare which lasted longer.

3 entire posts during Raw. Sounds like the guy w/the TNA sign got it exactly right. Isn't there a PPV this weekend? Oh, yeah...
3 entire posts during Raw. Sounds like the guy w/the TNA sign got it exactly right. Isn't there a PPV this weekend? Oh, yeah...
It's not just a ppv, it's wrestlefuckinmania for christ sakes, and US, US who should be some of the more hardcore wrestling fans, really don't seem to give a shit. Certainly not a good sign for the WWE. While I can't say that TNA is better at the moment, I certainly would think their fans would show more interest in their biggest ppv of the year.

I like how Vince and friends jacked up the WM price to $50 this year too. He must've figured "Shit, I've already chased away everyone but the people who will order it no matter what, so why not raise the f'n price."

Truth be told, I'd rather order lockdown than WM at the moment, as the whole premise seems more interesting to me.

... WOW.

'Mania's been $50 since 20, I think. Hasn't it?

I'd post more, but I didn't really watch Raw. I stopped sucking at Metal Gear Acid, although I *am* sucking at fighting the last boss in the game. I just rebuilt my deck, I'm going to sleep, and then I'll beat the game in the morning.

Honestly, I wonder if my disinterest in WM makes me disinterested in Raw? I feel like I'm just waiting for a 20 minute Triple H promo to start off next week's show, where he'll have a big ol' band-aid on his forehead (because the match was *so* arduous), and nyah, nyah, he's the game. John Cena will try (and fail mostly) to get the "you tried real hard but still lost" cheers from the fans, and Vinnie Mac will not be seen for some time on tv after HBK gives him whatfor.

I do think Kane will turn heel on TBS, and we'll see a feud erupt between those two, as the new tag champs show up to flaunt their gold (and maybe have an awful wrestling match against Val Venis and Viscera).

What was that  emoticon again? ;)

Raw was actually God awful in it's own right tonight, while there were some points of interest, the majority of the show was just pimping WM.

As for the $50 tag, I believe WM 2000 was $50 for the all-day Wrestlemania deal, and $30-$35 for the actual show. Can't say for sure though. Certainly wouldn't shock me if mania has been $50 ever since though.
Oh, and I'll be expecting Wrestlemania predictions from all of our regular contributors by the end of the week ;)
Okay here are mine using Lance Storm's predictons as my guide to the card.

Benoit vs JBL - I'll pick Benoit as I doubt WWE is going to have the US Title change hands to anyone so soon after that Best Of 7 series that happened recently.

Booker T vs Boogeyman - I'll take Boogeyman in a very short quick match. It would be nice to see Boogeyman develop beyond having a few basic moves but I doubt we are going to see that happen at Mania.

Kane & Show vs. Carlito & Masters - I'll take Carlito & Masters as WWE badly needs to do something with those tag titles. Hell does 95% of WWE's fanbase even remember that Kane & Show have the titles?

Lingerie Pillow Fight - someone look up time filler and you'll see a picture of WM19's Lingerie Pillow Fight along with any TNA PPV match with Eric Watts (including his brief fued with Raven).

Trish vs. Mickie James - I'll pick Mickie James since Trish winning would be too obvious.

Taker vs. Mark Henry - Taker here since... well....... I doubt WWE would let Mark Henry be the one to end Taker's undefeated streak.

Edge vs. Mick Foley - I'll pick Edge as Foley has nothing to lose by taking the loss in this match yet Edge has everything to gain. I still feel that Edge should be the champ to be honest... but then again, I'm a smark so what do I know, right?

HBK vs. Vince - I'll pick HBK since I have a suspect feeling we are going to see a run in by Bret Hart especially after what happened at the end of SNME.
Money in the Bank - My money is on Ric Flair. I mean does anyone actually expect WWE to let RVD have a major world title shot? Seems like WWE is doing almost anything to bury RVD.

HHH vs. Cena - I'll pick HHH... since its pretty damn obvious that The Game aka Cerebal Assassin aka King Of Kings aka The Glass Celling wants his damn Precious back.

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio - This is honestly the only match on the card that could go to any of the three for many reasons. Personally I would love to see Angle walk out of Mania as champ. He's long overdue for a nice title run which he hasn't had yet. Sure he's had a few short ones but nothing of substantial length. Then we got Randy Orton who's the ultimate villian in this three way. I feel Randy is the least likely to walk out of Mania with the title but he still could. The odds on favorite to walk out of Mania with the title is Rey Mysterio Jr but I really feel its for the wrong reasons. Yes Eddie's death was tragic and yes it would be a great Mania moment to see Rey win it and dedicate it to Eddie but after how much WWE has tarnished Eddie's name in the past few months I just don't like the idea of that at all. So I'm going to go with Kurt Angle on this.

I dont know if anyone else mentioned this or maybe it's just me, but is anyone else having a problem accessing the site to torrent ppvs? It stopped working for me about last week.
Truth be told, I'd rather order Lockdown than WM at the moment, as the whole premise seems more interesting to me.
Last year's "Lockdown" was actually quite fun to watch as a whole for the most part. Especially the main event match between AJ Styles and Abyss which was just great. Its part of the 3 pack that Walmart carried for a bit so its well worth hunting down for that alone along with Turning Point 04 in the pack which has the infamous America's Most Wanted vs Triple X cage match which the loser has to disband in TNA forever (and yes it has the infamous Elix Skipper cage walk spot that never gets old seeing over and over again).

"Lockdown" this year should be pretty good given the card that we know of so far. Christian Cage vs Abyss for the NWA World Title hasn't been given too much attention to but I suspect that since Christian will be at the TV tapings that we'll see a lot more focus put on it during the next two weeks.

Team Jarrett vs Team Sting could be fun especially given the hints Sting dropped during that interview he gave on Impact. We'll see where it goes.

Samoa Joe vs Sabu will be great. I don't think I need to say much more.

I'm still debating about ordering Lockdown as with Slammiversary coming up after Lockdown its hard to decide on which one to get. Of course with the "King Of The Mountain" match at Slammiversary it could be interesting to see who ends up walking out with the title as the past two have had title changes. In fact...

KOTM 1 (TNA PPV 6/2/04) = Ron Killings entered in with the title against Chris Harris, Raven, AJ Styles, and Jeff Jarrett. Jeff Jarrett won.
KOTM 2 (TNA Slammiversary 05) = AJ Styles entered in with the title against Raven (whom replaced Jeff Jarrett), Monty Brown, Abyss, and Sean Waltman. Raven won.

(And amazingly outside of the date for the first one which I Googled on I actually remembered the rest of that from the top of my head)

I'm curious as to who everyone thinks will end up in this year's "King Of The Mountain" match at Slammiversary 06 and who will end up walking out with the title. Here are my picks which does have a semi spoiler towards Lockdown but its not like as if we didn't know this person is coming back anyways....

Who will be in and why I think each is capable of being champ.
----------------------------------------
Christian Cage - current champ, fan favorite, and is in my mind capable of being that true face of TNA in 2006.
Abyss - has proven his worth to TNA, capable of being a good heel champ especially with James Mitchell being his voice.
Raven - we never got to see his really grow as champ last year plus I feel that with his return we'll see Raven really reinvested into wrestling at his best.
Monty Brown - great mic skills, has really grown in wrestling skills in the past few years and I feel he should have a title run somewhere down the road.
Samoa Joe - might be a bit too soon here but at least having him in the match will help make him more legitimate in TNA's heavyweight division.

I'm curious as to whom other CAGers might feel could be in the "King Of The Mountain" match and such.

Also, once we get to the 500 post mark (or will it be 1,000 for this thread being its Wrestlemania week)... I feel that the next one should be TNA themed. Personally I feel either Christian Cage, Christopher Daniels, or America's Most Wanted topic would be great...

Anyways looking forward to reading replies to what I just wrote. :D

Lol..ill say it again.. it was $50 last year as well! I think thats the norm price for mania!

anyways i cant say im too excited about the card this year but still no chance ill miss mania...

Benoit vs JBL - Benoit.

Booker T vs Boogeyman - Unfortunetly i'm going with Boogieman

Kane & Show vs. Carlito & Masters - Carlito & Masters

Trish vs. Mickie James - Mickie James

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry - Without question Undertaker

Edge vs. Mick Foley - Mick Foley

HBK vs. Vince - HBK

Money in the Bank - I'm gonna go with RVD, even though i just think its wishful thinking.

HHH vs. Cena - HHH

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio - Orton

(Just copy and paste as needed. It's one I found online. With the state of RAW as it is it will be needed more often.)

I think you got the HHH/Cena situation pegged.

If one of you guys wears this in the first row of Raw or Smackdown this year, and gets on screen, theres a Suikoden II in it for ya. I like the back of the shirt though.

The main evet last night made me laugh last night. I said to myself "Why the hell is Vince's ear bleeding?" I thought it was mere coincidence that it happend during a test of strength, but as soon as I saw Cena get hit by the hammer, I knew the Cena had bladed Vinces ear.

Man, I REALLY hope RVD wins the MITB match, but I got a feeling it's going to be Flair or Benjamin, even though the fans clearly want RVD to win.

thanks otm for the layout

Benoit vs JBL - Benoit via crossface

Booker T vs Boogeyman - Boogeyman! i think hes still over but hasnt showed wrestling skill

Kane & Show vs. Carlito & Masters - Carlito and the masterpiece all the way. kane and big show are boring

Trish vs. Mickie James - Mickie James

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry - MArk henry! yea right lol

Edge vs. Mick Foley - Toughie. I guess cactus jack!

HBK vs. Vince - HBK - no question via help from hart (wishful thinking)

Money in the Bank - Smart booking would suggest rvd or matt hardy! but wwe does not have a smart creative team. Im guessing Lashley!

HHH vs. Cena - CENA - Just for the fact hes the face.. Who knows.

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio - Tough one. Can really go either way. Probably either angle or mysterio due to their face status but i would like orton to win!

Now where does hogan, austin etc fit into mania.. they are gonna hopefully make appearances as they are sorely needed

Benoit vs JBL - benoit will win it.

Booker T vs Boogeyman - boogeyman. if the boogeyman loses, any push that he is getting will be gone.

Kane & Show vs. Carlito & Masters - i'd have kane and big show win, resulting in a carlito/masters feud that has kind of been building since the new year's revolution pay per view. kane and show could then feud with the spirit squad, as i'd like to see some of those guys get a real chance to wrestle, and not just dance around and jump on trampolines. i doubt that'll happen, but i'm still going with kane & show.

Lingerie Pillow Fight - torrie, just for the hell of it.

Trish vs. Mickie James - ashley should turn on trish, giving mickie james the win. if there's no interference, trish will win the match.

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry - undertaker.

Edge vs. Mick Foley - edge.

HBK vs. Vince - hbk.

Money in the Bank - rvd will win it. it's possible they could give it to lashley, but i don't think it'll happen.

HHH vs. Cena - HHH i guess.

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio - i think angle will retain, but i could see any of these guys winning.

I think I'm looking forward this week's Impact more than Wrestlemania...

Greenwich: We have a problem!

Joe vs. Sabu is gonna be amazing... :)

KOTM 06... why not change things up and have Christian retain? I really don't think Samoa Joe is going to get the title yet, if he won it, that would kind of imply that he'd have to lose a match at some point or another.

TNA Impact 4/1 and 4/8 spoilers...

Richard Trionfo called in the following results from the TNA Impact taping in Orlando, Florida:

Impact for April 1

*Eric Young, Scott D'Amore and Bobby Roode come out to sing Team Canada and ripped on the United States. Team 3D came out through the crowd. They brawled and gave Roode the belly to back necnbreaker and Young the Wazzup headbutt. petey Williams and A-1 hit the ring to take the advantage. Young hit a moonsault on Brother Ray. Roode hit The Northern Lariat on Devon. Young hit a top rope elbow on Devon through a table.

*Jeremy Borash interviewed Scott Steiner, America's Most Wanted, and Jeff Jarrett backstage. Jarrett said that Sting was dictating the rules to TNA but it's his turn and declared Wargames would be an eight man match, listing his team as the men standing with him. Steiner said that the longer he has to wait to hear about a contract from TNA, the more people will get hurt.

*NWA Tag Team champions America's Most Wanted defeated The James Gang. Gail Kim and Jackie Gayda were at ringside. Gayda tripped Chris Harris at one point, leading Kim to slap Gayda. James Storm tried to use a bottle but the referee stopped him. Konnan hit Kip with a slapjack and Kip was pinned. Bob Armstrong came out to check on the James Gang after the match.

*Jeremy Borash interviewed Abyss and Jim Mitchell inside the ring. When asked about last week's Documentary, Mitchell said "Mission Accomplished" and said Christian Cage was trying to hide from defending against Abyss. He said that Cage left his wife vulnerable and wondered what it's going to take to get Cage to give Abyss a title match. They then showed the "second half" of the documentary, with Shelley and Mitchell going towards Cage's house. Christian confronted them and was jumped by Abyss. They brawled through Cage's house into his pool. Mitchell told Abyss to stop trying to drown Cage because they can't win the title from a dead man. Mitchell told Cage that things would get worse if Abyss doesn't get his title match.

*Christopher Daniels come to the announcing table for the next bout.

*Samoa Joe defeated Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley, and Chris Sabin in a Four Way Match, hitting the Musclebuster on Dutt. Before the bout, Joe got in Daniels' face. After the match, Joe and Daniels fought around ringside.

*Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Team Jarrett, who said they were going to the ring to call out Sting. They go to the ring. The lights go out. Rhino and The James Gang are in the bleachers. Rhino says on the mic that the mind games aren't over. Jarrett continued to talk but Ron Killings, Shark Boy, Norman Smiley, and Chase Stevens come out in another set of bleachers. Jarrett continues, but AJ Styles, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Chris Sabin come out on one of the entranceways. The lights go out and when they return, Sting is in the ring behind the Army. Sting hits all of them with the baseball bat. Team Canada and Alex Shelley hit the ring and the heels take over, but all the babyfaces rush the ring for the save. The segment was really good live.

Impact for April 8

*Abyss vs. AJ Styles appeared to go to a no contest. Abyss went to get his bag of thumbtacks. Christian Cage hits the ring with a tire iron and attempts to go after Abyss. Security holds Cage while Abyss and Mitchell exit. Cage gets the mic and says that Abyss will get his title match at Lockdown. Cage says he has a question for Abyss, asking if he's ready to die after what he did to Cage's family, because Christian is.

*In an Arm Wrestling Match, Bob Armstrong vs. Konnan. Homicide and The James Gang were sent to the back. Konnan refused to lock up several times. Hotstuff Hernandez hit the ring and hit Armstrong with a slapjack. The James Gang hit the ring.

*Backstage, Jeremy Borash was in Larry Zbyszko's office, discussing the Samoa Joe vs. Sabu match at Lockdown as well as the World X Cup. Zbyszko announced he's been talking to wrestling companies all over the world and announced Christopher Daniels vs. Jushin "Thunder" Liger at Lockdown. Zbyszko announced that on the first Thursday night Impact, Samoa Joe will challenge Christopher Daniels for the X-Division championship.

*The next match was scheduled to be Diamonds in the Rough vs. Norman Smiley and Shark Boy, but it never took place because Jeff Jarrett's Army came out. Jarrett went to the announce table while Scott Steiner and AMW attacked Smiley and Shark Boy. Steiner locked the Steiner Recliner on Smiley.

*Alex Shelley defeated Roderick Strong and Chase Stevens after Sliced Bread #2 on Strong in a World X Cup Team USA Qualifying match, so Team USA is Shelley, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Chris Sabin.

*Sting came to the ring and came back because he loves wrestling, the fans, and TNA. Sting said that Final Resolution was bittersweet because Jarrett put everything that was important to him on TV. He said that he'll return at Destination X and how his return was one-upped by Scott Steiner attacking him at the PPV. He said that the sweet part will be when he gets his hands on Jeff Jarrett at Lockdown and he will announce his Wargames team members on 4/13 on the first Thursday Impact. He dared Jarrett to come meet him face to face on 4/13. Jarrett's Army came out and everyone who was involved in the brawl "last week" came out to assist Sting.

Xplosion:

*Team Canada's Bobby Roode and Petey Williams defeated Jay Lethal and Cassidy Riley after the Northern Lariat on Riley.

*Shark Boy and Chase Stevens defeated The Diamonds in the Rough with Shark Boy pinning both with a double Dead Sea Drop, then gave one to Simon Diamond after the match.

And one comment about the spoilers...

OH MY fuckING GOD!!! CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS JUSHIN "THUNDER" LIGER AT LOCKDOWN!!!!!

I can hear Saucy Jack marking out right now. :D
So many people said the same thing about Andre: if he wanted to, at any moment, take over the match or end it, he wouldn't hesitate to do so. This would appear to be one of those moments.
Its well documented that Andre hated wrestling the Warrior and often times did things to "make him learn" so i would agree with you on this.
