Club Nintendo 2012 (Club Year Ends 6/30/12)

Registered 5 years worth of DS games + a bunch of codes I bought from a Blockbuster closing. I'm taking a gamble that this year's platinum prize will be as good as if not better than the statue last year (which I thought was a pretty great prize) since I doubt I'll ever be able to get Platinum (once and only time) status again..

I got to exactly 600 coins. I'm thinking that I should wait on linking my 3DS to the eShop, and wait on downloading Excitebike until July 1st, to get coins for next year's Platinum. Is there a date on the extra coins for linking to the eShop?

Just checked Club Nintendo and the Post Play surveys for Super Mario Land and Zelda DX finally showed up. They don't expire until October, so holding off until the next year cycle shouldn't be an issue.

Those took a really long time to show up, though, so I wonder if it was just because of the newness of the eShop.

whats up with the new red cases for mario games that I've seen around. Do you get points for those and the "black label" like the "select" titles?

There just red cases, there's nothing else different about them otherwise. They aren't part of a separate category (other than being "Mario" branded) like the Select games. You'll still get the Club Nintendo points, but if you already have a "standard case" game registered, you won't get any additional points for the "red case" version of the same game.

Actually the Nintendo Selects games have different SKUs from the original games so you can register both versions. The new versions have Nintendo Selects in the title after you register them i.e. Mario Super Sluggers (Nintendo Selects).

Post Play surveys take one week to appear.

You're right about the Nintendo Selects games, but I'm talking about games separate from those currently 4 titles. There are several Mario DS games that are appearing with red colored cases, like New Super Mario Bros. Wii (seen here). These games do not have different SKUs from the black cased games.

Oh, I see. That's good to know about the DS games, I probably would have assumed they were different.

I got the email saying my blue pouch shipped today :D. I guess they're in stock now, but they still have the messages up saying they will ship "on or after June 14" in the shop.

EDIT: They took the messages down, so both pouches appear to be in stock and shipping for the time being.

I am sitting at 570 coins in my 1st year with Club Nintendo! I bought a red wii on black friday & a 3ds at launch, so it would be terrible for me to miss out on platinum status after buying 2 consoles!

I plan to pick up Zelda OOT 3D on Sunday & that will put me over the top! WOO HOO!

This may've been asked before, but I didn't see it in the OP...about how often do new rewards get added to the list? I've got 110 coins expiring, and I'd kept holding out for Metroid anything, but to no avail.

OK, I'm confused. I thought we had 14 days to register new eshop games or something? In my coin history, I have 10 coins for Pokedex 3D and none for Excitebike. I downloaded them both on the first day they were available and I don't think I did any surveys for either. But all I have pending are the post-play surveys for both (both good till October). And I didn't get 10 for Excitebike registration (nor do I have the option of doing a reg survey for it). How does this all work? I also have the 40 for linking my 3DS shop account. I got that and the 10 Pokedex 3D coins both on June 8th.

Edit: Well, crap, I guess I just missed out on the Excitebike survey. I must have done the Pokedex one, though I sure as hell don't remember doing that... Time has been going by so fast - it hasn't even felt like a week since I downloaded them. But not only that, for some reason I thought I had 14 days... D'oh!

Rewards are kinda added randomly I'm afraid. They usually come in bursts, like once something's added, something new is added every week for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, something new hasn't been added since the Game & Watch game toy.

My guess is that something new will be added once the year is over to entice quick coin usage.

LOOKING FOR OCARINA OF TIME 3DS CLUB NINTENDO CODE!

I have a plethora of codes that I can trade so I am willing to do a 2 for 1 deal. I give you two codes, you give me the one ocarina of time code.

PM ME PLEASE!

Heh, I know exactly how you feel.

H>Lightning (Aya Brea Costume) code for Duodecim
Cecil (Knight of the Twin Moon Costume) code for Duodecim
L> OoT club nintendo code or ANY SQUARE ENIX MEMBERS CODES!

I definitely hit platinum for the first time ever with 620 coins again thanks to a generous poster on another message board who was handing out free codes that I just happened to nab before the onslaught. Helps that I bought a DSi last black friday too.

Okay, I'm going to hold my breath for a functional Platinum reward this time around. I'm sure nothing bad can come of this.

Kidding, I'm just happy that I got to Platinum again. Thanks to Metroid Other M and Kirby going on clearance along with Flingsmash.
Man im only going to have 1. Platnium and 1. Gold this year...

...last year 2x Platnium
it's not that hard to get to platinum from gold. when it gets towards the deadline, people start trading and selling codes.

I had enough to get platinum again, and since I have been each year since they started it, this would be #3. I have just over 100 coins worth of stuff to do for the next year, but I dunno if I can make it to platinum again with how few games I play through now.

So how do you tell if you have expiring coins that need to be spent? Do you just look at what you earned each year and then what you spent previously and kinda guess that way? Or do they actually let you know if you have expiring coins? I think I'm good for this year. The ones expiring this year are from the first year of the club, correct? And I bought one of the Game & Watch DS games a long time back so that should have used my first year's coins and then some. I'll have to buy something for next year though I guess.

And right now I'm 10 points short of platinum after registering Zelda. I guess I'll just do that Pokedex post-play survey. If only I hadn't forgotten to do the Excitebike registration I'd have already been there...

The site should let you know. It should say something like "x amount of points will expire by June 30, 2011, etc".

I actually received an email from Nintendo saying that 200 or so points were going to expire soon. If you haven't received an email it's a good indication that all your points are safe.

Been sitting on a ton of points for a long time now, finally took the time out to register a few things to get me to platinum. Still have a bunch of things that I could register, but I'm good for now. I managed to order the Zelda posters and get in for the Zelda OoT CD, so that sounds good to me and I still have 540 points left.

Is there any way to just get 10 coins soon? I just registered my last 2 games tonight, but the survey wont be available before half my coins expire. I'm at 790 and need just 10 more for the hanafuda cards :(

Some of the games on WiiShop or DSiShop/eStore are worth 10 coins. So if you have a Wii, DSi or 3DS, you could get one of those.

If you have a 3DS, the free downloads of Pokedex and Excitebike each give 10 points for registration.

If you have a Wii, you could get 20 points for downloading the Netflix channel. You don't even have to have a Netflix account, just downloading it gives you the survey.

You could always find an eligible Nintendo game on clearance for a few dollars or just buy a code from someone.

All Shop games released past when Club Nintendo started are eligible for coins.

The Next Club Nintendo Thread is currently in pre-production. It'll be a 2-post OP so the information can be spread out properly. It'll go up in early July.

Also, the pouches are back in stock.

Finally just ordered some stuff from them...I think I got that one bag with the mushroom on it. Pretty cute. And two of the folder/bookmark sets (not the Bowser one).

Problem is I won't actually USE any of it because I won't want to wreck it!

Still surprised by the quality of that statue I got last year...by rights that thing should be garbage, but it's actually really nicely detailed, had to cost something.
couldn't find this anywhere but its probably obvious. I have 700 coins if i spend some on items will i lose platinum status?
no

Platinum GET... With the Wii U coming out in 2012 I suppose I should clear out everything I have registration wise in July and quit trying to ration points.

Has anyone here gotten the Game & Watch Ball handheld? If so, mind sharing some impressions about the hardware/package itself?
I just got :ds: Last Window EU, does anyone know if it can be registered here in the US?
Has to be a North American release.

I just got mine last week. The box is just cardboard, but it's printed nicely all over and has a mostly retro feel to it (I could have done without the ESRB rating on the front), and has a nice little blurb on the back about being a reissue of the G&W especially for Club Nintendo members. There's a manual inside, a foldout thing a lot like the Ocarina of Time 3D manual. The G&W itself is a bit smaller than I expected, about 4" X 2.5". But it looks and feels pretty solid, and Ball is simple but fun. I certainly don't regret getting it.

I loved Tiger Electronics LCD games growing up, so I think it will be right up my alley.

Just completed 5 post-game surveys to reach the Platinum status for the 1st time ever. Hopefully the Platinum offering turns out to be something I actually like...
Hopefully the Platinum offering turns out to be something I actually like...
Indeed. I have a hunch that this year's Platinum prize will be this. Can't really think of anything else...
Don't forget the trade thread!
I'll be sure to remember that for next year, thanks! I picked up a couple games yesterday (was already planning on getting them, so I figured now would be as good a time as any!) and with the post-play surveys I'll have just enough coins for Platinum. Cutting it extremely close this year though... yikes.

Odds are Zelda related. You got to remember that the platinum reward is usually unique.
I hope it's not a Zelda thing. Too much Zelda this year.
I dont agree with you there, but I would love something metroid related or Kirby.

I hope it's not a famicom controller, I already have two of them. An snes one would be cool though but I'm with admiralvic with the prize being zelda related. I would love for it to be Kirby related, my daughter would love a Kirby plush doll!!!
