Battle for the Cowl I kinda felt was lacking. Like overall it was waaaay too predictable. Though I am glad Dick takes the mantle (finally), but Damian as Robin I'm waaay too uncertain of. Eitherway I'll still pick up Batman & Robin tomorrow, I hope Morrison and Quitley knock it out of the park like All Star Superman as opposed to this being anything like Morrison's writing on RIP.
Fables is great. After everyone in this thread recomended it I read the trades then started getting the the recent issue's on my pull list. The story is definatly getting good now that the Jack of Fables crossover started.

Yup Fables and Jack of Fables are good, always doing something interesting. Can't wait to see the post-cross over new status quo.
last issue of the walking dead was awesome figured something was gonna happen with that kid. cant wait for the rest of the old man logan series to come out that would make for an awesome continuing series imo.
I love Old Man Logan but why was it numbered in Wolverine's main title instead of a stand alone limited series? I always kinda thought it was ment to be a "What If" Dark Reign title. Like if Norman actually gets his way.
I had thought Fables would be wrapping up soon so had stopped following it. Turns out we are only about halfway through the overall storyline or something like that. It should be interesting to see what happens now .
Gah, SPOILER!
I only came in to this thread to see what people are recommending, only to have this ruined for me. (following the story through trades and haven't read that part yet).
I usually don't get angry, but Cletus, you ruined my day
And Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk...biggest crappiest wait for a book ever next to that god awful Kevin Smith Spider-man Black Cat Rape Special. No Wolverine fighting Hulk, best we get is more random scantly clad women and that's about it. If it weren't for Mark Millar writing Ultimates 4 I'd say that Universe in general and Marvel has WORSE editorial team in my eyes now.
question wtf is with cyclops dating emma frost? i always figured itd be him and jean forever so what gives? and does he have some kind of telepath fetish ?
Cyclops started dating Emma Frost something like I want to say five or so years ago during the Grant Morisson run of X-Men. They weren't really a couple until the end of Morrison's run when Jean was killed again.
Went to Super-Con (South Florida Comic/Anime convention) a few days ago. Again it was more anime silliness than comic books. The side with all the writers/artists seemed pretty dead. I really wanted to see Chris Clearmont and have him sign a few comics but I guess I missed him.
Still I had fun, despite the overwhelming nerd smell. I wanted to stay longer but everyone else wanted to leave. Think I'll go stag next year just so I can take my time.
Sorry for the double post but I have aquestion. I need to find acurate/offical kryptonian symbols. I'm asking for a friend, he wants to get a tattoo but wants the symbols to be 100% acurate. Do any of you guys know?

Holy shit. If you've been reading that book from the beginning it is easily one of the most stomach churning scenes near the end. I Want to both punch and applaud Kirkman all at once. This issue was ing brutal.
Anyone else reading War of Kings? I'm really enjoying it. While not as good as Annihilation it's definatly better than Annihilation Conquest.
ive seen bits and pieces of it the darkhawk bits are kinda interesting but from what ive looked up on the story ( if theres something i dont know because of the years i stopped collecting comics check wikipedia) man thats some odd messed up shit.
i have most of the first run of darkhawk but i stopped near the end so its odd to see where they decided to take that story and its cool to see how marvel has moved around alot of diff characters in the universe to other books like havok and polaris.
i need to find the ones ive missed though i really want to know if chris will get back in controll of the armor or if hes permanently gone.
I've never been a fan of Darkhawk but I'm still waiting for him to turn into a badass like Nova did. Skaar has a War of Kings one-shot which is completly passable. I don't even know why I got it, I'm not even a fan of Skaar. I guess I just want everything War of Kings related.
I think I'm kinda disappointed in War Of Kings. It just seems like all the parts aren't quite gelling up into something like say Annihilation did. 5 issues into the main series and I've felt like it's been either all exposition or that nothing has really happened. And don't get me started on how little the Starjammers have done in the main series or even the GOTG.
It's definitely not as good as Annihilation but it's better then Annihilation Conquest. I think something big needs to happen for this series to worth it, and I don't mean a surprise death, something like the return of the Infinity Gems. Something that'll make me think "wow... I can't wait for more Marvel cosmic stuff."
I think a lot of it may be the one dimensional note of Vulcan. He's never truly allowed to grow since his inception from Deadly Genesis. I guess I was hoping to see him develop some character throughout all of this. Then you add in the blandness that is most of the Inhumans, the fact that Ronin has been sidelined for most of it, That Havok has played such a small part part and a serious lack of a machine gun wielding raccoon (Though I loved him kicking Gladiator's Ass). And it's more than a bit disappointing.
lol infinity gems. everytime i think of those i go back to my days playing that fighting game at the arcade. marvel superheros man i kicked some serious ass with blackheart. i liked using juggernaut too . btw who was that guy that gladiator killed with his eye beams?
I just finished all of the tradeback Marvel Zombies and thought it was a nice spin on the characters. I wanted the original story from MZ2 to continue to MZ3 but I still enjoyed it.
Also I finished reading Wanted and enjoyed that too. I think for the movie they should have used Eminem and Halle Barry to play Wesley and Fox.
The story from MZ2 will continue into a new series coming out in a few months. Honestly I'm done with the Marvel Zombies. It just keeps getting worse & worse. The series is done, I think Marvel should just let the Zombies die already (pun intended)
Got the first volume of Preacher and I'm liking it. I can tell the story is gonna get good.
Just got done reading Blackest Night #1. Holy shit. After a few years of build up so far I am liking the hell out of it. It almost feels like Marvel Zombies done in a serious tone where the heroes themselves are now a survivors facing off against a horde. That and Ivan Reis' artwork I think will better shine in this if this issue is any indication.
read waling dead 63 earlier wow. i knew this was gonna come up eventually but its still creepy to see. gonne be interesting to see if they finish him off or will he survive it and if so how? interesting back and forth between the preacher and the scientist.

I enjoyed the issue for the most part, but I hope it doesn't continue with the wholesale slaughter of the DCU that was Infinite Crisis/52/Countdown/Final Crisis. We've gotten more than enough of that. Seems like it'll be a good story though (and at the very least, coherent, unlike FC)
Pretty much, makes sense given the end of Final Crisis. I also believe that they have to consume/drain the heart of the person before they can zombify them as shown with the Hawks, and all that was left of Bruce was a skeleton. There must be something more to the Batman skull as they are going so far as to include the skull with the upcoming Black Hand figure

I Want to say that the skull will act as their lantern or power battery.
anyone else think its interesting how batman seems to be the most respected hero in the dc universe? ive noticed that he and his charges get alot of respect from everyone , well except for jason todd, its cool how the one guy without any real superpowers is so highly regarded.

That's the reason why he's so highly regarded in general though. He has no powers, all he has is his wit and the ability to be one step ahead of everyone. Also he has one of the best rogue's gallery of any hero that allow for good stories.
From a generation standpoint as well he's one of the few heroes to have some incarnation from one decade to the next as well (from holding a gun to campy to the Adam West show to the Dennis O Neil run to Dark Knight Returns to the movies etc.).
Finished reading the first volume of Scott Pilgrim. I really didn't know anything about it going in but decided to give it a shot considering all the love it gets. It started out normal then did a complete 180 near the end. I love all the little video game & comic book references. Definatly seems tailoered to my generation. I like it and gonna continue to read it.
I Don't know. Michael Cera plays the same damn character in all his damn movies (quiet, shy, boring, with some traces of self doubt and small bits of witty sprinkled in) and they're always more annoying then the last. That and he was part of the reason why the Arrested Development movie has been stalled because he wants to focus on his career of playing the same damn character in all his damn movies. That and Scott Pilgrim is basically opposite of him and I can't imagine him doing a good job at it without looking like he's forcing it. I Kinda imagine it'll be like him doing a Jerry Seinfeld impersonation for some reason.

The only two movies I've seen him in are Superbad & Juno and I liked both. Yeah, he was essentually the same character but I never found him annoying.
Was just about to post that same news.
I'm still haven't gotten past Book 1 =/
Every single Borders around me is always sold out of Book 2 so I can never take advantage of their 20,30, and 40% coupons I get.
If you can, try going to a comic store and getting The Walking Dead: Compendium (if you can find it). Much better deal and collects issue 1-48 in one big ass set.
Live action it looks like. I Loved "The Mist" so this makes it all the more sweet. Though something tells me majority of violence will be done off camera.
