Batman & Robin even after Damien died still continues to be a good book. Mostly after Damien's died so far it's been how all his sidekicks and partners are dealing with Bruce's emotional fallout from this and how it effects everyone. Though it proves especially effective in finally showing Alfred in how he handles his death with him being somewhat of the catalyst that leads to Damien getting killed. So I still worth reading.

I need something to read. I'm thinking batman. I stopped reading before nightfall. I've read the long Halloween, gotham city sirens, arkham asylum, arkham madness by sam Keith, hush, black mirror, joker last laugh and a few others. Last time I read on a regular basis batman was bruce wayne, dick grayson was nightwing, and robin was tim drake. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I am glad Damian died, I read one arc he was in and I was like "This kid is a prick!" haha

The thing with Damien is EVERYONE thought he was a prick and he was meant to die within the first arc, but instead Morrison let him live for a few years and had a bunch of different writers give more life and character that before you know it, everyone liked his character because you saw him grow more then any other character in awhile. From a prick to basically someone who sought Bruce's approval and realized he wanted to not grow up to be a killer like his mother groomed him to be, but actually be a son. So yeah, Damien is awesome and his whole run of stories were fantastic because of it, especially the dynamic between between Dick Grayson as Batman and Damien as his sidekick that created a brotherly respect amongst the two.

Dick Grayson's Batman and Damian's Robin are my favorite version of the dynamic duo. They were just perfect together. Damian may've started out as a prick, but he's my favorite character that's been created in the last 15 years.

I never expected the quality to go down. It just more or less worked out like this: I was reading Batman and Robin up until I heard Damian was getting killed off in Incorporated. I hadn't read any of Morrison's stuff at this point, so I decided to hold off on new Batman books to go back and start from the beginning of Morrison's run and then eventually catch back up to the current series through hardcovers.

Basically, my OCD wanted me to have the whole "Son of Batman" saga lined up on my bookcase. This happens occasionally. I've got the mostly unread collection of Brand New Day Spider-Man hardcovers to prove it...

I will say this about B&R though: all of the recent team-ups (and title changes) made sense to me. Two-face, though? That threw me for a loop. I'm looking forward to finding out what that's about. Have their been any significant hints dropped about who Batman's permanent (ha! Yeah right) partner will end up being?

Well Bruce's emotional stages of grief are now over, but read the Two-Face issue last night and it's not much of a team up as much as it is going over Two-Face's new 52 origin so far. If anything the story is more leading to Batman having to protect the person who ruined Harvey's face as opposed to him and Two-Face beating someone's ass. Plus I still love the art and layouts by Gleason so much. His artwork is right amount of cartoon and small details and he knows how to make a scene move.

As for Batman's partner? I Think too early to tell still, though they keep dropping not very subtle hints in it being either Harper Row or Carrie Kelly, but we'll see. Though when I think of female Robin I only think of Stephanie Brown and the only correct response to that is "Who?!"

Steph is making her New 52 appearance soon, though. Kinda stoked for it, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up. I'm hoping it's not Harper Row... I don't like her.

I'm fine with Harper, but then again only thing I've read her in is Snyder's Bat stories. I Know she appears in Detective, but I don't read Detective so I don't even know where her character has been taken. Though in the world of comics she's most "qualified" being she has some fight abilities and of course since she has piercings, of course she knows technology. Carrie Kelly as it stands in Batman and Robin has the abilities to...uh, usher movie patrons whenever Batman, take care of their dog and make student films.

And how the hell does Stephanie Brown appear before Cassandra Cain?

I think Carrie is kind of like Tim, though. For some reason, I get that vibe from her in everything I read.

And I don't know! Cassandra was my most favorite Batgirl and I'm so freaking disappointed that we haven't seen anything with her in so long.

I'm fine with Batman running solo, but I'm going to assume the next Robin will be played out in the next Bat event after what happened at the end of Batman Inc. with the dug open graves. So maybe next year. Though I think Harper and Carrie are a bit too obvious to be the next Robin still.

If anything, after Zero Year, I want to see Snyder incorporate Harper Row more in some capacity in the main (and best) Batman book.

I think Harper would be better as the next Oracle. I feel like they really need that position filled since Babs is up and running around again.

Also, I'm about to re-read Bruce Wayne Murderer and Fugitive! I'm so stoked to see how well they hold up! I haven't read them since the trades came out half of forever ago. They were partially what got me back into reading current comics.

So a black guy is going to be the next human torch?

So uh sue storm is black too right?

Agreed, this makes more sense to me, but then again I don't run DC despite me sending all those sweet fan fictions...

That's just a rumor that he's one of the front runner's isn't it? Same with Jon Snow being the next Mr.Fantastic. Plus we already know who they cast as Sue Storm and The Thing already.

Ah, Harper Row. Forgot about her. She started making appearances right about the time I stopped buying Bat books monthly. I never got a Robin kind of vibe from that character. I love the idea of her being a new Oracle, though, like CaptainJoel said. Admittedly I'm clueless as to whether or not she has evolved any since her earlier appearances.

Carrie Kelly? Huh. I had heard she was making an appearance in the New 52, but I assumed it was just a cameo. She stuck around, then? I'm fresh off my viewing of the Dark Knight Returns movie (never read the comic) so, assuming she's still the same character in more than name only, I guess I'd be up for that.

I'm about to start reading the first volume of Batman Incorporated. I gotta say, I can definitely see why so many people hate Damian. Morrison obviously wrote him as an extreme brat intentionally, and as big a fan as I am of that Robin, even I get annoyed by little things like the constant >tt

The >TT< thing is something that Morrison does in 99% of his books. I never realized it until I started re-reading most of his 90's stuff with JLA and it's constantly >TT

I was waiting for someone to post that picture.
Still better then Chiklis.

Eh, she's older then the DKR version and hasn't really gotten into any scuffles since she doesn't have to defend herself against mutants roaming the streets. So still too early to tell where they'll take her, though I've only seen her in the Batman and "Robin" comics.

The >TT< thing is something that Morrison does in 99% of his books. I never realized it until I started re-reading most of his 90's stuff with JLA and it's constantly >TT<. I think that Damian does it because Morrison wanted to show that he shared that trait with Bruce.
Ah, really? Huh. It's pretty annoying to read several times on every page, so I just figured it was a little writing tool he used to make people dislike the character. You're right, though, his Bruce does something similar. If he did it before his "death" then I didn't notice, but starting in The Return of Bruce Wayne he starts to overuse "Hh." quite a bit in Bruce's dialogue. That's mildly irritating, particularly if Damian is speaking on the same page.

Damian: >tt<

Bruce: Hh.

Dick: ...Are those grunts or do you Waynes just have your own crazy shorthand?

Alfred: It certainly is a far cry from the Queen's English, isn't it.

Dick: Or, you know, any kind of English...

Yeah, go back and check out JLA or the whole DC One million crossover. Bruce goes >TT< like craaazy. Batman One Million even does it sometimes, too.

And I hate new 52 Harley Quinn, but fuuuuuuu I am intrigued by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti's monthly on it simply because I loved their Power Girl run and I'm intrigued by all the artists involved. Also I feel I've added way more comics to my pull list these past few weeks and Sandman isn't even out yet either.

I enjoyed the Harley Quinn Villain's Month issue so I'll give the monthly a shot. The only New 52 experience I've had with Harley was her brief stint on Batman during Death of the Family.

I Just have a horrible time getting past that awful redesign and them trying to distance herself from the animated version more and more.

I like that they try to distance her from the animated show Harley and ultimately the Joker, but they could have really come up with a better design. I enjoyed her many different outfits in Gotham City Sirens. They should have just stuck with that.

IDW is coming out with the Samurai Jack comic soon. Ya'll should get it.
Ooh, my interest is definitely piqued. What's the deal with it, does it take place after the show or is it its own thing? I knew nothing about this.

As for Harley's design, I really don't like it. You can tell it was at least slightly influenced by the Arkham games (like how Bane's earlier New 52 appearances were) but they left none of her charm intact.

Just looked it up. It's a $3.99 book... I try not to subscribe to many of those. Arrgh. If Forever Evil wasn't going on I would jump all over a Samurai Jack series, but my wallet is hurting as it is.

I'll have to think this over.

Or you could go to a comic convention and get almost any comic for $1 or less. ;) Except keys of course. Variants you can usually pick up cheap too. I got about 20 marvel variant covers for less than $1 each. trades are always at least 50% off form major retailers, but as low as 25 cents each for older ones.

Arrgh. Atomic Empire sent my October shipment a week early, so next week I'll have to set those new books to be sent for an additional shipping charge. Son of Batman better be good! DC vs Masters of the Universe #2 too, for that matter. I enjoyed the first one despite knowing next to nothing about He-Man, cartoons or comics.

That sucks venom got cancelled :(

We'll never seen mania again or find out anything about anything.

I wonder if flash will stay the host?

You could read Thunderbolts. Venom is in that. And Ghost Rider joins the team in December :whee:
I do read thunderbolts but there's like 7 people in that shit and 8 with ghost rider he's kinda in the back seat of deadpool/red hulk.

Venom will be in the next comic of SS I wonder if spock kills him? Also superior carnage #4 was pretty good

I saw some of the 3d covers on the shelf at a local comic store for cover price. No arcane. I know someone was looking for that one. I wanted to check out that archie book, but it sold out a while ago. I do really like the locke and key series.

The first print run and variants of Afterlife With Archie sold out basically within the first week, which is insane when you think about it, but all the positive reviews it got and the novelty of it was too much to ignore. Though there should be another printing from what I hear. I'm just glad that it's getting all the attention.

I've actually enjoyed GotG. I don't really see a need for Iron Man to be on the team, but as far as I know, he's going to be off following the Infinity tie-ins. Angela will probably replace him.

The upcoming "Trial of Jean Grey" arc in the series looks pretty decent.

Bendis has fooled me several times with awful crossovers and his homogeneous version of The Avengers. I Won't buy into his ploys ever again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me...I think three or four times or whatever it is that isn't a creator owned title, Daredevil or not have Spider-whatever on the title, shame on me.

And it's a video game tie in and a prequel all taking place in an alternate universe with art and coloring that goes from acceptable to "someone is obviously asleep", all of these should be death sentences, but...I'm somehow still picking up the Injustice comic and I'm somehow still enjoying it. Batman's contingency plans for the latest issue and Superman testing his wits against him were all the makings of a good read. I'm shocked.

I read that infinity the hunt garbage just because I saw kid omega and genesis on the cover fighting and they have like 3 lines in it. Holy fuck does marvel love their bullshit comic book covers

Man, so far Infinity isn't the gigantic house cleaning Marvel event I expected, but the characters are so well written and just so epic in scale that I'm still enjoying it. Suck it Bendis. Suck it hard. Unless you're writing Scarlet and it comes out on time...in which case we can compromise.

Also I feel I should be upset with Sandman Overture being five bucks, but goddammit JH Williams, just take all my moneys if you draw any book.
