[Dead] EBGames $10 Bonus for ANY 2 Non-Sports Titles 01/30-02/27

Would they take in any of these games? And how are they on scratches? Are they demanding unscratched games? Any places to get some really cheap games to trade in?

Ace Combat 4
Gran Turismo 3 GH
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Dragonball Z Budokai 2

They take in all non-sports games. So basically, the only excluded ones are old Jampacks, most demo disks, and sports games / stuff. Today, I traded in Ejay's Music Thing, Dave Mirra Pro Bmx 2, Quantum Redshift, and Road Trip for the PS2, which is a driving game. Paid around $6 for it all at TRU, and got $20 store credit. Those games are more than qualifying. Heck, they even took my copy of Outlaw Golf: Holiday Golf. :)

Wario, Primal is $0.50 at EB for trade in, after the deal you get $5.50(they divide the $10 between both games). I did this today and made a ton off of it...hmm maybe I will get a PSP.

Anybody ever try "flipping" games between EB's? I know that many people tried during the GR deals, but some people were having problems of getting caught. Is EB really strict on flipping or do they usually not notice.

btw, flipping is where you would buy some cheap games from EB then turn around and trade them in for more credit than you paid for them. rinse and repeat.

The problem with this is that I would need games less than $5 to actually profit. Even then it would only be a few dollars.

You shouldn't trade in Dragonball Z. Check the list that's on EB's site, if you're games aren't on the list don't trade them in. Maybe if you have 4 or 5 non excluded games (this month EB wants 5) then you can trade in for a new game like Devil May Cry 3, Splinter Cell 3, Kessen 3, Star Fox, etc. And if you need the money just sell the newer game that you trade in for.

Edit: Actually now that I think of it, Budokai should get you $4 credit so it's actually not that big of a difference, so trade it in if you want. :)

If EB sells a game for 9.99 -12.99, you can expect $1-2 in credit. $17.99 games get $4. This is from my own experience.

Allright, so sorry if this sounds lame. I've been reading a ton of these posts trying to make sure I understand all this before going to TRS tomorrow and then to EB... This 10 bucks extra for 2 games deal... we're able to trade in even the games listed on the excluded games list?

You are truly safe if you stick with the non-sports games.

Excluded

Some may only exclude national sports such as football, basketball, or hockey. Other stores may exclude extreme sports such as skating, bmxing, or snowboarding.

So what that means is that most extreme sports games would work, like Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, SX Superstar, etc. Only ones excluded would be Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Hockey, Soccer, Wrestling, and those..
They take in golf, volleyball, and.. maybe tennis. :)

_______

Note: You should settle for the cheap $2.00 - $1.00 games. Primal should come to mind, rated M. And last but not least, remember that EB doesn't take a duplicate of the same game in the same transaction, but you can do for example -

You buy 8 games at TRU. They are Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 (2), Mojo (2), Ejay Clubworld (2), Jak and Dexter, and Primal.

You go to EB.

You would want to divide them in different transactions,

1. Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 + Mojo, Jak and Dexter + Ejay Clubworld (can be on one receipt).

2. Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 + Mojo, Primal + Ejay Clubworld.

You should have 2 receipts, and credit of $40 from buying of about $12 worth of games at TRU.

I've never traded in stuff (but I have some crap to get rid of) so I'm wondering, if I trade in stuff, it can be used to purchase new games, not just used stuff, right?

Yep either

I made out like a bandit with this deal. Best trade-in values were (after promotion):

Taiko (Game only) - $17
Counterstrike XB - $11
Crash GC - $8
Rayman 3 GC - $8
Tetris Worlds PS2 - $12
Red Faction 2 PS2 - $8
Bloodrayne PS2 - $8

I paid very little for all this stuff, so I was happy :)

Yeah, I did allright too.

Black and Bruised PS2 - $7 (bought for 3 @ TRS)
MGS2:S XB - $7
Hunter GC - $5.75
Agressive Inline GC - $5.75
Harry Potter GC - $6.50
True Crime GC - $10

Total Credit: $43.25

Pretty much got what I paid for them months ago.
Would Metal Gear Solid 2 PS@ work since it said no exclusions?
Yep, any game except for a sports game.

I hate to ask a stupid question that's probably been answered, but I gotta leave in like 5 minutes so I can't read through all the topics, so please bear with me

anyone know if Aggressive Inline, Wreckless, and R:Racing work? I dunno if they consider these sports games or not, and if I open them I can't return them.

Aggressive Inline and R: Racing do work. I just traded them in today.

I traded in a bunch of crap and ended up with about $80 in credit. I put $5 towards the "extra 10% off" deal so I can get 25% off on their website and ended up getting Marvel vs Capcom 2, NBA Street 3, and a cheap XBL replacement headset with the rest of the credit.

Gotta love those EB deals.

What the fuck is the problem with people not understanding this deal? Its pretty simple.

It's all good, no offense taken I just figured the games I listed were grey area, sorta sports, sorta not and thanks mmn for letting me know aggressive and R: Racing work

i see that some of you guys have several copies of one game. how do u even trade them in to ebgames. don't they prevent you from doing that? i would think you'd probably have to visit several stores to trade in several copies of games.

unless they allow you to mix and match on separate trade-in transactions.
how are some of you getting away with this?

I can't speak for others, but for me pretty much all I found was R:Racing and Primal, so I'm going to trade in 1 set of the two games at 2-3 ebgames, then repeat it tomorrow. Should be pretty painless and I'm hoping to get around 50-60$ in credit.

I had no problem trading in two copies each of a couple of games, but I didn't go overboard.

One thing I did find was that either Spy Hunter PS2 and Mad Maestro PS2 are for some reason excluded, or a max of 6 games can be traded in at once. I traded in 8, and was out of the store before I noticed those two hadn't rung up as promo items. The girl pulled up the transaction, and said she tried again and it still didn't work, so I got the two games back. I'll try again at another EB tomorrow.

Mad Maestro worked for me today, I traded in 2 of them and got the extra credit!

Yeah, I figured it was that I traded in more than 6 on one transaction. The web site specifically said trade in 2, 4, or 6 games, so maybe the computer just doesn't know what to do with 8.

Anyway, I guess I'll head back to EB tomorrow, and what the hell, maybe detour over to TRU first to pick up just a couple more...

I remember it specifically saying somewhere that the bonus does not apply to the 7th game. So basically in another words your cut off at 6, no matter how many your trading in.

I dunno, I traded in 10 games all on the same receipt and got the extra credit for all my games, the cashier didn't have to do anything, she just scanned them all. Strange. :?

I did a transaction of 8 today, no problems either. Didn't have to break it into smaller groups.

Wierd thing happened to me while getting the credit on a edge card. The edge card that they gave me actually had a prior balance on it. Only like 2 bucks and change, but still cool. Wonder how that happens.

Samething here..... Those $3 Rogue Ops have been sitting in the box for a looong time....
Oh, and that $3 Rogue Ops is FINALLY coming in handy.
I'm looking to pad my TRU trades with a few old DVD's. Does anyone have any idea what they give for DVD's (I KNOW they aren't part of the deal - just want to know what kind of base prices they have)? I have been bringing them to Gamerush and pretty much getting $5 for everything (no new releases - just kids stuff or older movies like Thomas the Tank Engine, TMNT and Ghostbusters). Anybody know what DVD's like that would fetch at EB? Do they even accept them for credit? If they're only going to give me $1 I'll save them for Gamerush. If no one knows I'll bring 'em in tomorrow (too late to call now) and let you know.

I was aiming for getting a DS for just the TRU $1-$3 games out of pocket... though I wasn't sure if I quite had enough to cover and then I remembered they sell used DVD's also.

By the way to those wondering if you could do multiples - I have been doing 2 Mojo and 2 Clubworld Ejay with no problem (at two different EB's so far). It's actually much easier than trading at Gamerush even (they have to unwrap everything and ask their manager every time if they can do more than 1 copy at a time).

Just FYI:
Game: TRU price/EB base value:
PS2 Kengo $2/$0.75
XBOX Mojo $1/$1
PS2 Ejay $1/$1
GC Eternal Darkness $3.50/$1.50

Also got PS2 Project Eden at TRU for $1 but haven't traded that in yet.
Ok, my 2nd question: Anyone know much Primal trades in without the extra $10?
Mine trade in for $0.50.

Could someone tell me what to do with everquest online adventures (leave it wrapped?, open it?, will eb take it as part of this trade?, will they take it if it is open?) it says: "not valid for purchase if opened. Not for resale by prior owner."

Here's what I did with mine.

This seems to be somewhat flaky. I traded in something like 12 or 14 games at once without a problem, except that 3 non-sports games were excluded for some unknown reason. One of them is a game that someone else confirmed they had traded using this deal (Aggressive Inline, though the other poster didn't mention the platform; mine was PS2). I also couldn't get the extra $10 deal on Stretch Panic or Mace Griffin (both on PS2) I didn't try trading them in again with a new transaction however.

I have a few more games to bring in so I guess I'll bring these games back too and see if they ring up next time...(?)

does anyone know if they accept GC bonus discs like the Zelda two game disc or RE4 preview disc? it says not for resale, but i have seen some Zelda disc at EB.

I think they will take Zelda. I don't think RE4 demo will work.

How much do you want for Zelda? Pm me a price if you are willing to sell it.

Yes, you need to go back. I also gave them like 12 games and some of them weren't ringing up. They took them off and did it as a separate transaction and I got the bonus $.
The deal is trade in any 2 PS2/XB/GC games get an extra 10. All exclusions apply... no demos, no cheap titles(MGS2, GT3,...). As for duplicates, its all YMMV. In my district, we have been told to not take duplicates.
Cheapy titles or (pox titles) are not excluded...only sports titles

Haven't had a chance to read through this whole thread, but I wanna know, can you trade in like 20 games at once and get the $10 deal on all of them? If not I'll prolly just trade in like 6 and then come back in a few days...

the manager at the one I went to said there was no limit on how many you could trade in for the extra $10. I traded in 6 and got 43.50 credit.

values:
black and bruised(PS2) $2.00
Gladius(GC) $3.00
Eternal Darkness(GC) $1.50
ICO(PS2) $2.00
Parappa 2 (PS2) 2.00

damn, this deal really hooked me up! I had cancelled my PSP preorder, but today I was able to get it back by trading in enough games to get nearly $250 on my edge card! The best part - I hit 3 TRUs, and only bought 2 copies of some of the really crappy games, and thereby was able to leave plenty for other CAGs!! Could this be any better?!?!
