I'm going to start a list of "blacklist" titles.. titles that retail for less and that they purposely jacked up..

At 30 for GC..

Smash Bros Melee - Retails 19
MGS: Twin Snakes - Retails 19

At 40 for GC..

Resident Evil 2 - Most CompUSA's have this for 29
Are you sure about all these,

I believe Twin Snakes still retails @ $29.99 (EB and gamestop both show this and they are usually fast with price drops)

I think Smash Bros. wasn't included in the recent PC price drops.

Resident Evil 2 is very hard to find if you must have it, but it isn't in stock at TRU.com anyways.
Ok, this is gonna be a huge YMMV, but it seems that TRU is going to allow you to exchange games for games that aren't out yet. It has been left up to the store director to decide, but they want every guest to leave happy. So for those who do want to exchange one of the games for Halo 2, you may get your chance. As long as it's within the 45 day return policy, I expect many stores will let you trade one of the games for any other game if you want. Also, this should actually ring up on the receipt as 2 games at $49.99 and one at $0.00 instead of $33 each.
tubtub, do gift receipt work. Any chance this can be done to get Gran Turismo 4?

Twin Snakes is on sale at Target for $17.99. I saw it today offered at that price.

Not online, but you can at B&M. Just separate into groups of 3 by price and pay for them in separate transactions. Otherwise, your cheaper games will be free, vs. on of the more expensive games. I'm going back later in the week to snag a few more. I bought 21 last year when this sale happened, and I'm only up to 18 today. Can't short myself, lol.

Actually, the system is pretty good about this. If you bring all your games up at once the register should generate the best deal for you(the old system would just look at 3 items and match the first 3, second 3, etc). So if you brought up and had a cashier ring the games in this order: $50, $10, $50, $40, $40, $20, it should give you the $40 one and the $10 one for free.

did you guys ever drop the price on onimusha 3 to 30?
mine had a sign saying hot price, 39.99

I thought it was part of the price drops last week, but now I don't remember. I remember Maximo and Pandora Tomorrow, but can't remember exactly if Onimusha was.

Went down to my TRU today to find out the scoop. 1st question was can I preorder GTA he said yes for 5 bucks. I couldn't put more down on it I then mentioned about there buy 2 get one free deal and noticed they only had 2 copies of paper mario in and asked if I could grab this now and then come and grab my GTA and get my free game. He said sure I also asked if I could preorder DOA turns out I couldnt as they only preorder certain games. so hopefully I can grab my preorder the day after GTA comes out because thats when they should have DOAU in stock as it ships the day after.

do gift receipt work. Any chance this can be done to get Gran Turismo 4?

Gift receipts should be fine as it will show 2 of the games you paid $50 for and one at $0, they should let you even exchange all of them though. Also, it may be hard for GT4. It's a 45 day return/exchange policy on video games(and you must have a receipt). The deal ends 10/30. GT4 ships 12/14 and will be at TRU 12/15, which is barely over the 45 day return policy.
so does Best Buy

and I have one in my tradelist!!
Blacklist reason for RE:CVX:

It's in Casey's tradelist, damnit! :D
jesus, thats still $400 or so on video games, I don't understand how people have enough time to play all these games? and all those games certainly will not encourage the kids to go outside and play like they should be doing!
You obviously are not a collector, so you would not understand. I work 60+ hours per week and still find time to play. Any true gamer would. As for the kids...I just love how some people think they know what's best for the children of the World. If you have something against collecting games, you're in the wrong forum.

It was about $384 worth of games, but averaged out ever so slightly above my $20 per game cheap ass limit. These games will last us a long while. Get this. Just two weeks ago, I opened Broken Sword for the XBox. I bought this game at the last TRU extravaganza. The 21st game. That reminds me, I still owe myself 3 more games to match last year's take! Decisions, decisions.

Anyway TheShiz, I see you're new here. Take note of what your read in these boards over the next few months. You'll learn more than you bargained for and save a ton of loot. You may also find yourself spiraling downward into the game collector zone. So, beware...
Sorry if my post was confusing, but I don't think it will work for Halo 2 or DOA: Ultimate. I meant games being released this week, like San Andreas and Ace Combat 05, so you don't miss out on the other 2 games being out of stock. Again, sorry.
I might have to run by TRU and pre-order Bard's Tale and Fatal Frame II, since they're supposed to be out this week. For the 3rd game, good question.
Twin Snakes is on sale at Target for $17.99. I saw it today offered at that price.
You are absolutely correct. I've checked 4 Target stores in my area and they are all OOS. I picked up a raincheck, but I seriously doubt they will restock this title. It retails for $29.99. Pick it up with two other titles at the same price and it drops to $20. Excellent price for a fantastic remake of the original masterpiece. Way up there with the Resident Evil remake IMO.
Should I get Fable or Star Ocean 3? I would get Shin Megami: Nocturne but I don't think they will have it.
My toys rus got a SINGLE copy of Megami(i work their), it came mixed in with about 11 other games in a big huge box(trust me MANY toys r us wont even bother looking in that big box(other stores in this region had it like this also(except only 2 out of the 5 got Megami(one copy a piece only), Needless to say I have it on hold for the sale, along with NEO contra :)

I heard Neo Contra is incredibly short. I heard there were 5 levels in the game, and if the demo was a complete level, it will take no time to finish the game.

I was hyped to get the game until I heard how short it was

check local TRU today and they have many copies of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Guilty Gear X2 #reload, but no shadow hearts 2.

One more question, for those who brought the games early, can you bring in just your recipt for the price adjustment? The cashier said yes but i wonder what other people think.
Should I get Fable or Star Ocean 3? I would get Shin Megami: Nocturne but I don't think they will have it.
Rent Fable, buy Star Ocean. Fable is about 10 hours, while Star Ocean is of ridiculous length.

I'm thinking of spending $40-50 at TRU on the sale and maybe get 3-$20 games or 2-$20 and a $30 game. I was thinking of getting R&C and R&C 2, and either another $20 game or a $30 game. Any suggestions on the third game?

Forgive me if this has been asked/answered but has anyone tried to get the Sonic DX/Sonic Adventure 2 or Super Monkey Ball 1/2 Double Pack in this sale?

I'm curious as to if the combo pack is counted as one game.
Are you sure that you're a collector? Doesn't collecting video games entail keeping those games in pristine condition? I hardly think that's possible if you have kids.
Depends on the intelligence of the kids I suppose, and the intelligence of the parent to teach the children how to take care of things. You are either a kid yourself that has experience mistreating games or a parent that lacks the ability to teach your children these traits. My kids are more careful with games than I am at times, lol. They too consider themselves collectors, but they use my money. :)

This thread was created to share information related to the TRU sale. Useless comments such as this add nothing to this discussion.

1) I must be a kid or a parent to know that children have a tendency to mishandle property? You ought to develop your reasoning skills.

2) Please don't be a hypocrite by telling me to remain on point. You had already proceeded along a different line of discussion before I chimed in. Thanks.
Has anyone tried to get 2 or 3 copies of the same game?
I ordered 3 copies of Donkey Konga online and had no problem. Taking care of christmas presents early this year.

Hopefully I can make it out to my TRU in the morning and they'll have Disgea, Shin Megami, and Starwars BF.

Side Note: Anyone play the Crimson Sea 2 game? It sounded cool from the reviews, but thats all i've ever heard of it. If yes, would you recommend SW:BF or CS2 for multiplayer fun-ness-ism?
Thx CAGs

hmm, time for the horse to do some online shopping...

well the BB GGC seems to be a slightly better deal in the end, however, the horse bets you won't see certain games at BB in this lifetime. ok, we've huddled (..... not hugged... nope, not hugged at all)... we have a question. how would the GGC be a better deal? $5 off right? or is there something I'm missing there. I was wondering about that as well... I wanted to send a friend of mine back in the horse's hometown to go pick up the sonic double pack, zelda ww and midway 2; however, A. I couldn't get ahold of him today, B. I already pestered him enough during the CC and BB sales, C. I ordered midway 2 today, D. I already have Zelda, I just wanted a sealed non-player's choice copy, and E. I already have enough games to play right now. So... I decided against it pretty much.

How much is the shipping & handling for 3 $20 PS2 games (buy 2 get 1 free)? Do they charge tax for NV? Is The Simpsons: Hit & Run worth buying? For PS2 or GCN?

You can try filling out an order and not in submit at the very last screeen... Shipping also depends if any of you $20 games ship free. Since you are buying 2 anyway it puts you above the $25 for "free shipping on select items".

Not entirely right. The demo was half of a level. Also, there are five main levels, and two series of boss fights afterwards.

It is a short game but it's longer than shooters like Ikaruga. For a Contra game though, it is qutie easy.

Just got back from the TRU.

Picked up everything I wanted.

Paper Mario
Phantom Brave (No Collectors Editions and no copies of Shin either.)
Burnout 3
Riddick
SC:pT
HM: Wonderful Life.

Total: $160. Average Price per game, $26.70

I'm done. I have no more need for gaes. I may pick up Fable and Halo 2 if they're on the Xbox Retail site. I may grab a couple $5 or $10 games if it's a bargin I can't miss. But other than that I'm done.

I just got back from the Ceasar's Bay Toys R Us here in Brooklyn and they still seemed to have plenty of stock of everything, though I didn't look too closely. There weren't many people fighting for the games either which surprised me, Just me and a soccer mom.

I picked up Donkey Konga, Shin Megami Tensei (plenty of copies) and X-men legends for Xbox because they didn't have the Gamecube version of it. Does anyone know what the xbox version has going for it over the GC version? I kind of rather have the GC version since I have 4 controllers for GC and only 3 for xbox.
