Urg, looks like I missed out on my only chance at getting Pure Darkmoonstone. After beating all the bosses in world 4 I got the world tendency down to pure black and went after the geckos in 4-2 and 4-3. I was able to kill a majority of them, but no Pure Darkmoonstone, only Chunks. Am I correct in assuming I'm screwed for the rest of the game? Too bad because Magic is my main stat and I wanted to upgrade my Crescent Kijil from +4 to +5.
I'm guessing you are way lower in level than me, if you get close in NG+ or whatever and want a darkmoon stone, I have a few extra I think. My first game I didn't get any, but the geckos were generous after that to me.

I had the worst time with cloudstone chunks. I had to have gathered at least 400 shards to maybe 2 or 3 chunk drops. I ended up just running through the game a few times to get them off the few corpses that have them. Turned out to be easier and I had to go through that many times any ways.

Just got this game, started out as a royal and just beat the first boss.

I am enjoying it so far, but man is it completely different style to games i have played recently

if anyone wants to team up/offer advice add me on PSN

Farm the enemies by going backwards through 4-2 (the reaper, BP ninja, and the two gold BPs) is your best shot. I got mine while farming souls doing just that. Didn't even realize I had it until I needed to empty my bags heh.

I'm about to try to go through the same thing. I have a +4 Crescent Falchion right now. I already went after the geckos in 4-3 twice, so I only have 2 more chances. One time I got one of them, and the other time they both got away :whistle2:( .

I was able to get a pure Moonlight stone from the gecko in 3-3, so at least I can get my Moon spear up to +5.

On another note, I was trying to make a Morion blade last night. I bought a broadsword and spent a bunch of time getting it up to +8 (had to farm large sharpstone shards and buy a ton of regular sharpstone shards). Then I found out it doesn't go to Morion. Argh. So I started over with a Knight sword. Thankfully I had tons of Hardstone so it didn't take to long and I finally have a Morion blade. I did notice at least that the +8 Broadsword will go to LSoS, so I just gave it to Thomas to hold for me for my NG+ when I get the required Demon soul again.

I'm at SL 102 right now. Had to level up my Faith a bunch to use Talisman of Beasts.

Yep, I was killing those flying bastards repeatedly in PBWT and only got 1 or 2 cloudstone chunks. And that was with the LSS. I ended up just borrowing a cloudstone item from Saint Noir I think. I had enough to upgrade a cheapy shield, but I really wanted to do a good one. I just gave up on the whole thing after I "borrowed" the weapon though.

I just found out my wife is pregnant. I wanted to let you guys know that I'm registered at the following places:

Babies R Us
blankets
pacifiers

Boletaria
pure bladestone
pure greystone
chunks of greystone
chunks of marrowstone
pure faintstone
chunks of cloudstone
Did you use a black stone to invade her?
Only after equipping my black leather set and penetrator sword. And then I cast ignite.

i rape monsters but get raped by players.. i'm jealous of my roommate's sword of moonlight, he does like 400 per hit to players even when they block.. i wanna de-level and go all faith

Hence the reason I went Temple Knight. Once I read about how OP that sword was, I knew exactly what template I wanted to go for PVP. Best part is you can stack it with a heavy shield early on since it only weighs 2.0.

Its only good until the other player recognizes it or realizes its special ability. Then your at a loss due to the LSoM's poor base damage compared to other 2-hand weapons. It really takes a lot of faith to make it worth it though as it does stack better than other faith weapons. Above SL 50, most people will know what it is and just go 2-hand. I haven't really seen faith builds using it in awhile since they are replacing it with blessed claymore+5.

It only takes two swings to drop the other player though, so striking swiftly is key. Really isn't hard given the mobility using an MS gives plus a diving roll strike is a sweep, so you will catch them if they try to dodge anywhere but backwards. Even so, it gives you plenty of time to recover if you miss due to lag or w/e.

it's really easy to hide around a corner and get two swipes in before they even really react

especially with god's wrath... hide around a corner, god's wrath them before they see you, and if they survive move in for the one or two hit kill... it you wanna make it REALLY impossible to lose, buff with second chance and homing soul arrow before going around that corner. it owns everyone so ridiculously hard, he's like 10 and 0 in invading worlds.

I'm at 157 or so. When you get up a handful of levels, if you need anything then, just let me know. I only boot it up these days to help folks out. I may start a whole new character in the future... but that will be the way future.

Awesome, I'm at SL 107 now, looks like I need to make an appointment with the Storm Beasts in 4-3. With the Ring of Avarice and Ronin's Ring and two handing the Storm Ruler I found it the best place to farm souls quickly.
What? That is the only way.
Yup. And it is funny. You could build an anti-PK guy... but chances are you would still get owned. I know I do.
Is there any way to turn off having players come in and destroy you?
Play in soul form, not body. Use the Cling Ring when in soul form to recover some of the lost HP.

Aww... that is the coward's route... and the one I take almost all the time!

I just started this game this week and didn't play in human form much until today (level 30). I was dying a lot.

I started trying to maintain human form during play and was not fucking ready for dudes to start jumping into my game. I killed one guy, after frantically running and rolling for a few minutes, and the game wouldn't let me exit ... and another dude invaded and I killed him as well. And the exit point kept saying 'cannot leave during multiplayer' ... until I killed a 3rd dude with a summon helper.

What are the rules on exiting when/after someone attacks?
What do you lose if you die by PvP?
Is there any downside to using summon help in worlds?

I didn't know you could play in offline mode because the only I disconnected from PSN during play, I had to end my current game.

Check out the PvP page on the Demon's Souls Wiki: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/pvp

I did some BP invasions a few days ago when I was trying to get Tower of Latria to PBWT, figured I could save one or more Stones of Ephemeral Eyes. Had some pretty fun battles, one lasted like 10 minutes with me first trying arrows from a distance which did almost nothing...tried firestorm, he survived and then cast Anti Magic Field, both of us chewing on grass, etc and finally me taking him out up close with a few slashes of my Crescent Kilij +4 which I don't think he was expecting. Also had a pretty good battle with some sort of paladin character who finally took me out with ye olde Rage of God.

The PvP can be a lot of fun but it's nice to be able to control when it happens.

I've got all the worlds done now except for 1-4 and whatever comes after that. SL 113.
Haven't talked to Mephistopheles yet either, though she is up there waiting for me...

1. If you are invaded, you cannot go back to the nexus. However, you can reach the fog that leads to the boss to force the invader out.

2. Well if your the host, then you lose your body. If your the invader and lose, then nothing happens so long as you die to a phantom or the host. Otherwise, you lose a soul level. Not sure what you lose as a blue phantom, although I do notice when I kill them I get their souls.

3. No downside except that if you all make it to the boss area and win, you have to split your souls with them =|

It is not a split. A percentage of the total is given based on the rankings given. Everyone can get the same (the full available amount) if the rankings are the high/same.

Shuuush it, I'm trying to make it so no one would want to summon phantoms and make my invading that much easier >=P I need to get back to this game more frequently one of these days, just too many titles coming out.

I made a new char, level 11 at the moment, Adjucator on my back while I two-hand either Crescent Falcion (primary) or Makoto (secondary)... it dominates so hard, pretty easy even when they have 2 phantoms. Because I'm low level everyone I invade is low level, most have starting gear and get one-hit killed by Makoto.

Awesome. Thanks for the info guys. I need to spend some time on the wiki because the Flamelurker just owned me today. My magician needs to find someplace safe to riddle him with soul ray.

Does anyone know where to get this game cheap (less than 50)... or is anyone willing to sell theirs for PSN cards. I know my rep is bad cuz I fell out on a deal but I got PSN cards (from Sony Rewards) and am willing to trade them first. They are in code form so ya... I can just email you.

Get enough faith to carry Banishment as well as anything else you want - and a talisman. Banishment + thiefs ring + hiding = p!ssing them off...but it is entertaining...I know I've done that jerk route a few times.

Run past him and up the stairs when he first charges you. Then go to the right and turn around. Usually he'll get stuck on the rubble there and you can blast him with soul ray. Be ready to run past him again if he manages to get up the stairs somehow. Rinse, repeat. That's how I beat him with my magician character.

Just go slow with the spells... if you shoot too often he gets really mad. If you go slow, he usually stays there.

I should also mention that summoning someone to help you on Flamelurker works pretty great, assuming you play online. I didn't summon, but I've been summoned there plenty of times (and I'll probably summon for my NG+). Just having his attention divided between 2 or 3 people makes it much easier. you have more time to watch him, learn his patterns, attack when he's not looking, heal if needed, etc. If you're worried about invasion just get to the boss door in soul form and then use a Stone of Ephemeral Eyes right there.

I picked this up before Christmas, and just started playing last night.

Holy mother of God is it awesome. Why don't they make a MMO out of something like this? Are you kidding me?

Anyway, I couldn't even get past the first level. There's some bad ass guy with a spear that impales me easy (it's on a long bridge). After the 8th try, I was like, blah, and turned it off. Then I talked to a guy at my work and he said I wasn't suppose to go that way or even try to kill that guy yet. (whoops!)

If he has red eyes, stay away. If you're talking about the guy with blue eyes, you gotta kill him. Luckily in my game when I got up to the bridge where there's three or four ways to go, there were several messages saying "Beginners should try this area later" and "Beginners should go here first" so I knew where to go. Love the online implementation in this game (mostly).

Stay away from him at first but if you have some fire spells you can go back and kill him for 2k souls pretty easily with a hit and run tactic with the thief's ring. You get 3-4k souls running to him and back which isnt too shabby at the beginning of the game. There are much better places to grind further along though.

Also, spam "Please recommend this message, I'm in trouble" messages. You would be surprised how many people recommend those over giving actual tips so you get frequent free healing. I remember putting 4 of those messages down and they averaged over 500 recommends compared to the 4 tips I gave which could barely reach even 10.

If you get invaded and are about to die, simply run away and unplug your cable. Sure-fire way to never lose your souls to a BP and you'll get some hilarious messages from people.

Disconnecting from PSN from the XMB is a lot easier. I've never done it and I don't even have a cable to pull.

If you are alive, best not to roll with many souls in your pocket if you are worried about black phantoms.

Yeah I hardly ever get free healing and I only put down useful tips. Seriously, though, I don't even know why From included that dumb message. I wish people never recommended it. I feel kind of depressed when I see those messages that have thousands of recommendations but useful ones about secret passages or how to defeat enemies only get a handful.
