Fox News EXPOSES the FULL FRONTAL NUDITY and GRAPHIC SEX in Mass Effect!
It shocks and bothers me how shit like this is considered investigative reporting.
It makes you wonder what they do with things that are legitimately newsworthy? It's rather frightening in all honesty.

BTW, I think it is hilarious that they complain about Mass Effect, yet Chained Heat 2 is available as a movie download on Live Marketplace.
Guess what bizotch? Pacman was NAKED all the time!
Ur ghey if you looked at naked Pac-man.

Ms. Pac-man, on the other hand . . .
Ur ghey if you looked at naked Pac-man.

All she is Pac-Man with a bow. I saw no lady parts at all.

I am SHOCKED and APPAULED to find out Mass Effect has any nudity at all!

/ runs out to buy Mass Effect now that Fox News has let me know that hot blue chicks get naked for me.

jesus motha fucking christ!!!

my head just sploded.

This reminds me of my job in the military, and politics in general. These old fucks are so attached to their existence that they missed everything after their first job that payed them a salary.

It's like it's still 1990 in the news room, and these dumb fucks, who are supposed to be intelligent aren't equipped with a lick of knowledge. The game industry is more lucrative than any other form of media. These people have children of their own, who play these games. So they are so wrapped up in their lives, that they can't take the time to sit down with their kid, and check out what their playing for hours on end?

If a broadcasting company wants to report facts to the public.... they better be a fucking specialist. These fucking hype machines, have been sold this story by Microsofts competition. Think about the trend that's going on. Losing support for HDDVD, a frivoulous lawsuit, and now a full frontal attack on one of the best games ever made. This shit reeks of conspiracy.

I would, given the chance to stop time around me, behead every fucktard who has ever reported a news story, based on opinion, ignorance, and blatant lies. As these are the same people who would testify at a trial, just because they didnt like you.
It's basically saying, "Hey, America.... fuck you, you've been duped, now do something about it", and the people saying, "you're the news, you're right, let's alter our way of life to conform to your logic." :(

I'm calling in to Fox tomorrow with this breaking headline: My toddler was playing with the eye toy on her PStriple, while I was at work.... and someone on the interweb hacked the system, and solicited himself via video feed to her. Then he told her where to put the controller, and hacked it, and the six axis raped and killed her.

You think I'm joking?

Sorry, please don't post this kind of stuff,.. my blood pressure is skyrocketing now :(

So what have we learned from all this, and what is appropriate content for children? Based on what has been and hasn't been talked about in regards to Mass Effect's naughty content:

What's OK:
Genocide = OK
Racism = OK
Assaulting news reporters = OK
Aiming handguns at merchants while bartering = OK
Killing law enforcement = OK
Stealing and selling corporate information due to conflict of interest = OK
Mercy-killing = OK

What's not OK:
An alien ass = BAD
The side of an alien boob = BAD
Hugging = BAD
Liara's funky purple aura = BAD

I suddenly remember I need to play this some more, thanks Fox!

Edit: Just watched the video.......... what the hell is wrong with these people? I barely saw any evidence to support a damn thing , one person who has played the game is cut completely short and then a prehistoric porno reference is brought up? Shocked they didn't also throw in you can punch a reporter just to break the ice.
Full frontal nudity is a butt and no nipples or beaver pelt. Weak.
In the future, women don't have nipples or beaver pelts. They do have patches of hair where there nipples used to be though. They didn't want to confuse all the 7 year olds playing it for the hardcore XXX action, so they just turned the camera angle.

They'd better watch out for Fable 2, because you can get pregnant in that game!! Next thing you know ever gamer will be trying to get pregnant.

To the people who are dismssing it because it's Fox News: Sure these people have no credibility, but the fact of the matter is, they are misinforming the public and doing a disservice to their audience. That is not ok.

EA should be demanding, not asking for a correction.

edit: I was refering to this part of the article. The story wraps up by pointing out how insulting the resulting story was to EA and Bioware and asks, not demands, a correction:

I feel... odd. If they start bringing more stuff out like that, my brain won't be able to handle the paradoxes at hand and implode in on itself.

...So your avatar is that of a future woman? Thank god I won't be alive to see that kindof shit happen.
Highlights:

"If you look at the statistics, who's playing video games but adolescent males, not their dads."
Huh. Silly me, I would have thought the piece would be about the Moms and Dads buying M-rated games for their adolescent children.
Truth be told, anytime something other than an actual video game or tech show gives me info about game I tune it out. It doesn't matter if they lean left or right, most of the people from CNN, Foxnews or anywhere else don't know anything about games.
Pretty much how I feel. I have talking heads that I'll listen to about politics or fiinances or related stuff. When ever I hear them veer off onto game talk I want to go open the window. And jump out.
It shocks and bothers me how shit like this is considered investigative reporting.
I didn't read/listen to/watch the video in the OP. But just because something is on a news station or in a paper, doesn't mean it's reporting. Could be a society or editorial type piece. Of course, I could be wrong.

I cant wait till jesus comes and saves us from all the sinful video games and takes to happy fairy tale land.

LOL PEOPLE CARE ABOUT FOX NEWS!

In all seriousness, good for EA. Don't let these morons spread vicious lies that stupid parents eat up. I did like the guy that tore that idiot apart though.

You should watch it. It's quite amusing.
You should watch it. It's quite amusing.
Since you recommend it, I'll see if I can.

Edit: I'm getting about 20-30 seconds at a time. And the segment keeps getting killed at 2:32. Gonna try again later. In the meantime, I get to kvetch.

I don't know who the girl is (blonde) but it's like listening to high school mall rats "if you know what i mean." She's already said it twice. Very professional. I can see the college education really helped.

"...game is rated M although critics say the game is marketed towards..." Oh really? Which critics would those be? This is the first I'm hearing of it.

Her issue with "unless [parents] are hovering over [their kids] they're going to see this stuff..." It's nice to know that parents officially have no interest in raising their children today. If you don't want them playing M rated games, don't buy them. How tough a concept is that?

Brunette lady, I agree with on violence and sex/pr0ns in media definately desensitize people; kids, adults, men, women. But I censor myself and what I play. If I had kids, their innocence would be closely guarded for as long as reasonable. Does our society require common sense courses? Parents need a spine to stand up to their kids and tell them they can't have X. OR if the parents believe in letting the kids be exposed to whatever they want, that's their choice. Not mine, not hers, not the governments.

The irony is that this lady makes the statement that women are viewed as sexual objects on FoxNews where the women must spend at least half an hour on their hair & makeup. There's nothing wrong with that, but show me one full-fledged hag on FoxNews. Greta is probably the only one close, the only one respected for her intelligence, and even she went through major cosmetic surgery before switching from CNN.

She's also posing on the front of her book...

A lot of what she was saying about women/violence/sex has some relevance in media in general, but not so much the game (besides the violence, perhaps, and the women, like in all video games, have to be thin and have tight boob-fitted armor or something....I guess my point is that this game isn't particularly more sexual/objectifying/violent than any other and does have an M rating).

EA should send a lawsuit, for defamation. If anyone has the money it's EA, and unlike making another version of Madden this would actually be appropriate to force stupid news shows to stop this crap.

It is clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that the game is misrepresented and even when a guest trys to explain how so he is cut off and ignored.

If anything I'd rather see her go after the idiotic fashion mags. Where are the rating on those? There aren't any. They're found at eye level to little kids at super markets, they can be purchased by any age group and the article headlines on the covers can be more risque than CJ at the Sex Shop in San Andreas.

And that's just the print. That's not inluding the picture of vacant looking women in highly accessible and revealing dresses which have their effect on the forming of young, impressionable minds. If she's concerned with how women are depicted and seen, go first to your sisters printing Cosmo.

It's funny. All gaming forums argue and don't agree with anything. But, it really shows that we all agree that this crap is bullshit.

Nice that the whole community can come together and fucking hate FOX NEWS.

I've already sent an email to Geoff explaining to him that I really appreciate what he does for the gaming community and I understood his frustrations. He thanked me.

It's insane that people think this way.

"Kids can walk in and just buy this porno simulator!" By that logic, kid's can walk in and buy Hostel. I think Hostel and Internet porn is much worse then Mass Effect...

And the black chick says, "Dad will have this game in the house and what is gonna stop little jimmy from grabbing it (and wanking his weiner off after 30 hours of playtime?!)" Well then DAD understands his 360 and can put on the family settings.

Ugh, I want to argue this with someone. It'd be so fun just making them look like a complete fool.

Yea, and Mass Effect actually makes woman look strong and self willed. And explains that relationships are to be formed before any sexual activities should be taken... it's acctually a GOOD thing for kids...

-ADDED- Nice to see EA is fighting back! I hope we see an update on FOX NEWS very soon. And they apologize.

I am very glad it was Mass Effect that has been getting this bad press. Because, it shows how flawed and idiotic all their assumptions are. And Mass Effect has a huge fan base and it definitelly needs to revolt.

Ooo, there should be a strike outside of FOX News HQ.

I work in media and I watched this live. I can honestly say this was very poor journalism. They got the facts wrong on so many levels. I can't count how many times I did this --> #-o Watching this made me angry as a gamer. They were very uninformed about the game. Never once did they mention violence in the game. It seems shooting & killing shit isn't as important as seeing a butt.

I used to watch Fox for my news but after this I wont be tuning as much anymore.

Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas....? With that said maybe we can call him "Shity Commentator meets pointless banter to keep my worthless ass, ill-informed ass on FOX NEWS"

Haha, you know whats funny...I just realised they SHOWEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD the sex scene ON THE AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHAHAHHA! THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT!?!?!?!??!?!?

...sorry, this stuff bothers me.

But or news it's okay, you see. Keep the public informed while the ratings go up.

You work in the media and you're surprised by this? I found it to be "par for the course"

I love how she's being slammed like this.

My favorite one

"This book contains full, frontal nudity and explicit descriptions of graphic sex acts. What's worse is that it's marketted toward children! This book teaches young boys that women are objects and have no value other than their sexuality. I've gotta go with the research, darling.

Have I actually read this book, you might ask?
[insert incredulous laughter here]
No!

But since little details like that don't stop Ms. Lawrence from slandering the work of others. It shouldn't stop anyone reviewing her work. "

He torched her ass :D

Usually I wouldn't side with EA ... due to it's lack of support after they put out a game, but after this and my great experience with my Rock Band RMA ... GO EA!
When ever I hear them veer off onto game talk I want to go open the window. And jump out.
The word for today is: "autodefenestration."
You work in the media and you're surprised by this? I found it to be "par for the course"
I didn't say I was surprised, just disappointed. I work at a local news station and I can say our reporters are more informed and most always stay objective. However these asshats can get away with this because they're "commentars" not reporters.

Good to see EA step up.

I must be in the minority here but I don't think "Have you ever played Mass Effect?" is all that fair of a question. You don't need to play it to be able to make a judgement on it.

That said they clearly didn't even look at the youtube videos. Which is probably the minimum I would find acceptable. People like her are we we're stuck with FriendCodes.
You don't need to play it to be able to make a judgement on it.
I completely disagree with this statement. Sure, you can have an opinion on the game without playing it, but it won't be valid unless you do.
Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas....?
Don't forget the sequels

Star Whores
The Empire Strikes from the Back
Return of the Spread-Eye
