CAGiversary!
ALL INFO AND DEALS FOR GAMERUSH

UPDATE: According to aoLat 's store, the Trade any 3 games, get a used game for $10 deal ends January 3rd! Only a few days left, so I suggest getting the last you can out of this deal.

Now, according to IndyDad 's store, this deal is supposed to end on the 10th. So, it may be YMMV for the last day of this deal.

I would like to thank Wshakspear for telling CAG and me about GameRush. You've really helped me out on deals. Thanks!

Many questions should be answered here. :) I'll add new things soon, so if you ask good questions and people give good answers, I'll add it to this and it will hopefully help out others.

Please PM me with questions about GameRush, but check this post, and the last few pages of this thread before you do.

GAMERUSH WEBSITE

OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (as many are doing) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to. If you do get banned from GameRush for scamming them, don't bitch about it. Otherwise, I will be forced to make fun of you.

Hi CAGers from Staten Island, NY.
I will be in NY this weekend, and wanted to get some of your suggestions on the "GAMERUSH" stores there.
How is the selection ?
What are the newly released games (in XBOX and GC) they have on shelves for sale ?
Did you have any bad exp with any stores ?
Do they accept PS1 for trade ?
Thanks

Here is my response...

GO HOME!

I talked to a GR employee last week after discovering that none of the games on the shelves were in their original boxes. He said that they discard all of the used cases and put the games in their blockbuster cases which they can slide the plastic lock mechanism into. I asked politely if I could come in weekly to pick up the old cases, and he said 'no'; they're only allowed to throw them away. I guess that I won't be trading any of my games with their cases from now on!!!

I suggest to any of you that you check what your local GR's policy is on cases... perhaps you should just keep yours as well.

I've seen them throw away tons of original boxes, especially when Madden 2005 came out and they were putting them into the rental cases. I've asked a few different GameRushes if I could get an original case or three and if they have any laying around, they more than happily gave them to me.

Yeah, I got 2 cases the last time I went in....and that was because the girl was too lazy to check in back for more....but 2 free were good

Do what I do. Next time you trade in games, put them in the BB shitty cases they gave you last time. I keep the ones from my new games and swap them with the BB games then.

I do the same exact thing.

I stopped by 2 GRs today but didn't have any games to trade or anything so I was just looking since I was going to go by them.

I think the first one I went to was in Rockwall. Where ever it is, it's the worst place I've ever seen. They had no good used games. (best I saw was Tales of Symphonia for $39.99 but I didn't see any thing else worth that much). First time I had been to it and it was very shitty. They had games stacked all over the counter where you do trades. It was a mess.

The second was on Rowlett Road and they were good as always. I was very happy that the dude let me have a Fable manual since I told him how I didn't get one when I bought it from another GameRush. He was very nice.

They had some good games but one that caught my eye was Prince of Persia Warrior Within for GameCube. I'm going to try and go by it later and get it, but if anyone lese wants to get it first, go right ahead. I hid it (which I rarely do) behind some Brute Force games in the Xbox section. If someone does get it, then please post that you do. Thanks. :)

You sick bastard!.........I kid, I've done that too. Only once to get Zelda 4 swords for Gamecube when it was relatively new.

I switch them out. I take my PS2 game case and swap it for the Blockbuster case. They don't mind at all, and it takes all of 20 seconds to do.

do they have GTA: San Andreas? I've never been to that gamerush before. I might give it a try. The last gamerush I traded stuff in was in Mesquite for Halo 2 LE

I went to every Blockbuster in my area and only one of them would give me any cases. I'm with Cmosfm on this.
Does anyone know what day they swap out the cases and toss the original ones?

I've had GR employees hold games for me, they told me they can hold a game for 24 hours.

I stopped by the Rowlett one off of Dalrock on Sunday night. They had 2 copies of GTA: San Andreas but it wasn't in the PS2 section, it was at one of the sides of the aisles. They also had a Halo 2 but I took that one with the 'trade 3' deal. :D
I've had GR employees hold games for me, they told me they can hold a game for 24 hours.
I'm not sure when I'd be able to go so I didn't bother to ask him to hold it for me. :(

Hawaii GR stores suck ass. Visiting on vacation, to find that they actually do have gamerushes there. I go in expecting to find anything new, but alas, nothing. I dont think anyone in Hawaii knows about the nice deals that GR have. As for me, its time to work some magic and move their stock for them. Then go to the beach and watch some 25 foot waves.
All GR's stopped doing that awhile back. THey might have that except it's 39.99 now.
You must have the coupon though......I tried at two different GR's yesterday. I have a coupon, just forgot it at home and I was stopping on my way home from work.

MI GR's seem to be really cracking down lately and the game selection has sucked in the past few months. Are there a lot of CAG's in Metro Detroit or something?

Dunno if this has been posted or not, but I noticed a 12 month XBL subscription card and the microphone case for $29.99 at my GR.

I didn't pick it up cause I needed some extra controllers, but this is a good deal.

might be YMMV, but when i went to trade in some old sports games, (NFL 2K3 and NCAA Football 2002) i got 10 dollars each for them

EDIT: not all the sports games i traded in got 10 bucks (also traded in nba live 2002 and nhl 2001, worth only 1.50) hopefully there are more that trade in that high

Went to the Los Angeles GameRush on National. Not many newer games to be found used, but some rare stuff. I passed on them because I own them, and a good CAG leaves treasures for others to find.

They had:
Ikaruga
Panzer Dragoon Orta
MechAssault (lots of non-PH)
Skies of Arcadia GC

Most looked to be in really good condition. I just picked up a Mega Man Anniversary Collection used for PS2 for $10 with the 3 trade-in gimmick.

Here are some trade in values:

Prince of Persia WW Xbox $25
Mojo Xbox $8
Silpheed PS2 $.150
KOTOR 2 $35
Crash 2 GBA $5
Castelevania Circle of the Moon GBA $5

Ouch, Flaprabbit, you traded Circle of the Moon for that? I know a lot of people who want it -- myself included -- and would've made it worth your while to trade/sell it here.

Been to that one quite a few times myself. Also have seen Gauntlet Dark Legacy and Star Wars Jedi Academy for gamecube there, but when I checked them neither was in good enough condition for me. Of course I am very picky. This was a while ago though.

I saw both of those there, too, but Jedi Academy is still expensive. They had it on Xbox, also. I'm not going to get another Star Wars game until I beat KOTOR II (which I haven't played yet, thanks to Halo/GTA/Metroid). I really like that GameRush; the manager is a very cool guy. They've also had a good selection of rare N64 games in the past (Paper Mario, Ogre Battle 64, Rocket).

Around the time that the Trade 3, buy 1 for $10 deal came out, someone mentioned it ending in January. Does anyone know the precise date this deal ends on?

wondering that myself. I have some games I want to trade in but have yet to see anything worth getting from it. I am hoping some great selection to come by after xmas.
Ouch, Flaprabbit, you traded Circle of the Moon for that? I know a lot of people who want it -- myself included -- and would've made it worth your while to trade/sell it here.
I hadn't realized Castlevania Circle of the Moon GBA had any value. I picked it up at Gamerush for $6.99 with a couple of other $6.99 games on the buy 2 get 1 free. I looked on ebay and it didn't seem to have any value, so I traded it back in after not enjoying it that much. For me it was a wash, I paid about $5 for it and got $5 back on it.

Anyways more trade in values:

Blinx 2 Xbox $14
DOA Ultimate Xbox $25
Fight Club xbox $25

Went to the GR on venice blvd and picked up aliens vs predator (xbox) for $6.99. Also picked up battlefront for $10 using the trade in deal.
they had more copies of battlefront and some copies of fable. That is easily my favorite of the gamerushes in los angeles bc they always seem to have good selection. The one on national is good as well

when i went to GR today, i asked for a certain game that I didn't see on the racks, and they said they had a copy behind the desk but they couldn't put it out for 1 day after it was traded in. that was the second store which claimed this. has anyone else experienced this? is it a new rule or something?

they aren't allowed to sell stuff immediately after they get it for trade. It's against some trade regulations. Ask them if they could hold it for you.

Here are some prices i got at my local BB (not a GameRush yet, but i think the prices are the same). All Xbox

Crimson Skies - $8
Links 2004 - $7
Burnout 3 Takedown - $30

Some trade-in values for GameRush
Smuggler's Run PS2 $3.00
Hot Shot Golf 3 PS2 $8.00
Def Jam Vendetta PS2 $8.00
Tekken 4 PS2 $8.00
SOCOM 1 PS2 $7.00
M of H: Rising Sun XBOX $8.00

Trade-In all of these for $42.00 of credit and got GTA: San Andres for $10.
Money out of my pocket: $0 dollars

I'm going to go by GameRush soon since I still have 3 PS1 games and some current gen games to trade in.

The GameRush on Rockwall Road still had alot of games 2 days ago. They're loaded with several good games. :)
