[quote name='Poor2More']is that FarCry 2 a Steelbook case? if so I am on it day one[/QUOTE]

I'm not sure if it's actually steel or just a grey case instead. It may be the PC version too. The Artwork itself is exclusive to GS aswell.

After hearing that the Valkyria chronicles Pre-order artbook may be the same one included with the Japanese LE, I had to pre-order it.
I hope it really is of good quality.

Added bonus for Moon. Unusual bonus. Not sure I've ever seen a game slipcover as a bonus.

Edit: Just noticed the slogan. "The moon has more than one dark side." Noice.

Last year,FIFA 08 had a free mini soccer ball with the pre-order of it. Does anyone know how long does it take them to announce pre-order items? It's less than one month until FIFA 09 releases and still no pre-order bonus :(

I've seen preorder bonuses get announced only days before a release on Gamestop.com.

The pages for the 360 and PS3 versions of Dead Space were updated at some point and they now mention that in addition to the art book you get a code for...well, it says a bonus level, but the picture and description make it sound like a better suit. I wonder if they're giving the code out in stores, it says online and in-store pickup customers will have it emailed to them, but mentions nothing about regular in store customers. I think it's also worth mentioning the preorder only limited editions for Prince of Persia and Far Cry 2.

Also now the pages for Eternal Poison, Luminous Arc 2, and Persona 4 all list artbooks as a preorder bonus. (Think utopianmachine is tired of me yet?)

Strange to have another bonus listed later for the same game already having a bonus. Thanks for this. Considering the bonus location on the webpage, I'm not sure I would have run across this in my editing and updating.

Added bonuses for Persona 4, Luminous Arc, and Eternal Poison.

Awesome. I wanted to grab Persona 4 definitely, and I may as well pre-order Eternal Poison, guess GS is actually giving me a good incentive to do it over Amazon this time (edit: er, at least for Eternal Poison and man does Amazon make the pre-order bonus sound a lot flashier than GS).

Well, I just pre-ordered P4 on Amazon, even though it will ship on the 15th for me. Izuna 2 shipped after the release for me as well, but I still got my (crappy) poster, so whatever.

[quote name='Shadow780']Niiice, P4 on amazon, Eternal Poison and Luminous Arc 2 at GS.[/quote]

Looks like Amazon will have all the bonuses for Eternal Poison and Luminous Arc 2 as well according to the Atlus email

If you pre order far cry 2 they will upgrade it to the special edition for free
Reserve Far Cry 2 and you will automatically be upgraded to receive the FREE Limited Edition upgrade. This is a reservation-only offer. While supplies last.

Pre-Order Edition:
  • 6 Bonus Missions (3 hrs of game play)
  • Full-Size Fold-Out Map

Oh good - I was about to be upset if the P4 artbook was GS-only, because ordering from Amazon is saving me $7 (counting the tax I'm saving).

[quote name='jacknicklson']Looks like Amazon will have all the bonuses for Eternal Poison and Luminous Arc 2 as well according to the Atlus email[/QUOTE]

I hope so...

Has amazon lately been diligent enough to include the actual bonus item when shipping preorders?

I recall people complaining about not receiving the Shinra UMD case when they preordered FF Crisis Core from amazon.

I don't think it'll be an issue with the Atlus stuff, because apparently the artbooks will be packed in with the game itself, rather than a separate item.
ATLUS might mess it up though. That was the case with the Izuna pack-in.

Cool, will cancel and switch when that happens.:applause:

Luminous Arc 2 tempting but 40 bucks for a sub par game.... Hell people was bitching about DQ 4 at 40.

Might as well say they are charging 10 bucks for the lame music cd.

I got my Harvest Moon chicken from them.

Time for another update:

Prince of Persia (Xbox 360/PS3 [oddly, not PC]):
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=71599
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=71601

Get upgrades to limited edition when you pre-order.

Far Cry 2 (Xbox 360/PS3 [again, odd no bonus for the PC version]):
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=67177
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=71583

Same as PoP, upgrade to CE for pre-ordering.

Prince of Persia and Far Cry 2 are a little left field for preorder bonuses, but I think it makes sense to add them.

Also added bonus for Sam & Max Wii.

Couple of items:

1) My local GS had a "display only" copy of the Dead Space artbook, and it was amazingly well done.

2) There's an artbook pre-order bonus for Jason and The Argonauts, like the one for Dead Space, and it was also at my local GS as a "display only" copy. Also a very nice artbook.

[quote name='destro4eva']Has there been ANY talk of a Castlevania DS promo like they did last time with the last DS one? [/quote]

Interesting point. I haven't been following game releases that much lately (unless they have a promo item, obviously), but looking into the Gamestop website shows that Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is coming out October 21st. Given that the last two DS games have had nice preorder bonuses, it would be surprising for Konami not to continue this tradition.

[quote name='shrike4242']2) There's an artbook pre-order bonus for Jason and The Argonauts, like the one for Dead Space, and it was also at my local GS as a "display only" copy. Also a very nice artbook.[/quote]

The game title, at least according to Gamestop.com, is Rise of the Argonauts, and I'm glad to hear about the quality of the artbooks. The Gamestop pictures leave a lot to be desired.

It is Rise Of the Argonauts, as you posted.

I've seen some stuff on G4 about it, and I think it might be good, if it lives up to the preview stuff they've shown.

If anyone wants to order online, use the code:

5OFFNEW

It worked on my FarCry2 order. It basically a good way to upgrade the $2.99 saver shipping to 2 Day shipping ($6.99)

$59.99

5OFFNEW - $5 off any new game $59.99 or more - Far Cry 2
- $59.99
- $5.00

Sub-Total: $54.99

Estimated Tax: $5.74 (TN)

Order Total: $67.72

Wasn't there a free 2 day shipping code floating around somewhere too?

You can't use '5OFFNEW' code with other codes.

Maybe with "Pick-up" option..

"Pick-up" option cancels out '5OFFNEW' code... It's SO GameStop to do this BS.

Damn, that's what I was just about to try too...

Thanks for the coupon Retail, I just re-ordered Valkyria chronicles with that. For some lucky reason they gave me free shipping, too.
I hope they don't catch the mistake, eh?

[quote name='tagout']Any info if the "free" upgrade for Far Cry 2 comes with special packaging as well?[/QUOTE]

I totally missed this earlier, but I got the new issue of Game Informer today and there's a two page ad for Far Cry 2 that says: GameStop Exclusive Pre-Order Edition Includes: 6 Exclusive Missions, Pull-Out Game Map (20 MI), Limited Edition Packaging, Free Limited Edition Upgrade.

[quote name='Law_Professor']Nothing for Wario Land: Shake it!? That makes me sad. :([/quote]

I dunno. Not too common for Nintendo to give away preorder bonuses for titles they know you're going to buy. Although Wario doesn't have the same following as Mario, Metroid, Starfox, or such, it's being advertised pretty well. Even I'm interested, as Nintendo knows their 2D games.

Does it show any pics of the artwork?

According to GameStop's website, Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon price has dropped to $39.99. I confirmed it in-store this morning.

Wait, what? I've been looking forward to Ultimate Ninja Storm, but I've never heard of this one before. Anyone else a little tired of companies that think an unlock code is an acceptable preorder bonus?

[quote name='rainking187']Anyone else a little tired of companies that think an unlock code is an acceptable preorder bonus?[/quote]

It is a little obnoxious, but it makes sense from a marketing standpoint. Maybe you've got all these additions to the game, but one thing really stands out. Manufacturing little bonuses only costs money, so an easy fix to give fans "a little something extra" is to claim that they're getting something unlockable.

Is ordering at Gamestop justified? Not for the internet-savvy. Likely even before release, you'll be able to find out the unlock code from the internet, as it's highly unlikely each game would have its own code.

[quote name='shrike4242']MSRP of Destroy All Humans: Path Of The Furon is now $39.99.[/quote]

[quote name='jp0213']And the release date is December 1st.[/quote]

I went to go update the thread, and found it had already been done. Thanks for the info, guys. I typically don't recheck entries once I post them, so I appreciate helps like this.

[quote name='doubledown']I'm curious what kind of quality the Mirror's Edge bag is going to be? Seems like a cool pre-order bonus for sure.[/quote]

It looks like a really, really nice bonus to me, too. I don't even own a 360, and I want this bag.
