Hey guys, I figured since we totally hijacked that DS Lite thread to talk about everything from cider to live local music....we might as well have a dedicated thread for it. Especially since I think we definitely have the most robust discussions in the Southeast CAG forum!

I'll kick it off by describing my recent EB experience:

I hit the Northlake EB (the one with the cool manager) today to grab some B2G1 goodness. I ended up getting Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XB), RE2 (GC), and RE3 (GC), all complete and mint for 86.65. Considering that MvC2 goes for $50-60 on ebay, I thought this to be a pretty good purchase! As I was leaving, the manager guy told me that the North Dekalb store had some rare shit right now too, and that I should check it out. What a nice guy!

Anyway, I f'n hate that EB, but I figured it was worth a trip (its not that far from home). I ended up getting complete mint copies of REZ (PS2), LoZ Promo disc (GC, the one with Master Quest), and Cubivore (GC) for $72.20. Cool.

I also got 3 used DS games (preparing for the Lite on Sun) for B2G1. All three of the games (Trauma Center, Advance Wars, and MarioKart) were complete. But, somehow, as the dipshit was ringing me up, the Trauma manual somehow disappeared from the box! Since they insist upon slapping those damned clear stickers on the edges at sale time, I didn't notice the missing manual until I was on the way home. Jackasses!! Well, they had another complete used copy, so hopefully they can help me out tomorrow....but I'm not counting on it.

In the meantime, this dude with a baby was trading in 20 Xbox games (and getting ripped off, I might add), and the clueless employees there couldn't seem to get it all worked out. That poor bastard must've been there for about 45 minutes, and still hadn't gotten the right trade in credit. UGH.

My two trips today really showed me how utterly opposed two EBs within a few miles of one another could really be. And that is why I always go out to Northlake!

On to more beer talk!!
Anybody know where I can find a Hori stick for the xbox 360? A friend of mine got one from the gamestop at cumberland, which pisses me off cause I called and asked for one and dude was like "nah, we don't have it." I'm looking for one for Virtua Fighter so if anybody sees one, could you please let me know?

I'm also looking for a cheap copy of VF5. Holla if anybody knows where I can get either or both.

Thanks.
Might have gotten a response already but there are quite a few Hori 360s at Fry's Alpharetta. But you'll have to pony up full price, $60, not the $40 that GS had discounted them for.
Two Worlds any good? Mine had it for $15.
Granted I have not played it, but I've heard that if you take Oblivion and suck all the fun out of it, you get Two Worlds.

If that's true, I'm wondering just how this game warranted a sequel

I know it's a long shot, but if anyone could keep an eye out for GameCube component cables at GameStop it would be appreciated. eBay is just too full of a bunch of scalpers that charge too much...

If you are in the Northern suburbs, the Target at the corner of States Bridge (Pleasant Hill) road and 141 (Medlock Bridge/Peachtree Parkway) has about 5 copies of Wii Pinball Hall of Fame. They do ring up as 19.99 but there is the 13.98 sign and had no issues like others have mentioned getting it adjusted. They were on the bottom row of the games that are on the aisle instead of being in the cabinets.

I also saw quite a few copies of Viva Pinata spread out in the section. They all had clearance stickers marked 7.48.

I thought I read that it used the same cables that the Wii did. I am not sure about that though. If so....

I have the white component cable and it works great. I also have 2 of the chargers for the Wiimotes. The charger works great too, but I know some people do not like the USB powered ones.

I've been to about six Targets in the last two weeks, and all of them had four or five copies of the Williams Pinball Collection, so it seems it's not as hard to find as it was when it first came out. Viva Pinata is also plentiful in just about every Target. But thanks for the pricing information. I didn't know they were selling them lower than marked in some places.
I thought I read that it used the same cables that the Wii did. I am not sure about that though. If so....
Nope. The Wii component cable will not work with the GCN. Sorry.

I had seen copies in a lot of Targets as well, but this was the first I had seen it with the 13.98 price on the shelf. All the other ones had it marked as 19.99 and this one scanned for that as well before getting it adjusted.
Anybody doing a midnight sale for GTA? I think I'll go to the EB next to my job. Saves time. lol
The GS on Howell Mill is definitely doing one.

sears at cumberland mall had a copy of GC Twilight Princess in the clearance bin, but no price on it and i was grumpy they didin't have mario kart so i didn't ask.

cumberland tru does indeed have 30+ wiis and is very eager to sell you one if anyone's in the market.

News from my travels today; may not be news you can use but hey, I tried.;)

I'm not sure how many Wii's the Cumberland TRU still has but they had 3 Blue Dragons there as of 7 pm, I was told they scan at $15.98.
I grabbed a 360 R.Band drum set and game for the $40 off while there, they still had 1-2 more 360 drum kits.

If anyone is looking for the C.City 12+1 month XBL subsription cards at $39.99, the perimeter store has zero in stock.
I was able to price match at the nearby Best Buy but I got the last 12+1 version. The only ones remaining were just 12.

That's all I've got, just happy to start playing R.Band with the rest of the world!:)

Made a run in the Hwy 78 N area today. Found :360: 2K8 NHL for $14.98 and :360: Simpsons $12.48 and used the $5 coupon at the Snellville Target for a total of $23.81 :bouncy: They also had a couple copies of PGR4 and one copy of 2K8 College B'ball marked at $14.98. Still had some :ps3: Orange Box left for $29.98

I didn't see much at the Snellville BB so decided to hit the Stone Mountain BB. Found Rock Band :ps2: $15 (70% off of 49.99,) FIFA 07 $9 :360: (70% off of 29.99,) and COD2 $6 :360: (70% off of 19.99.) Came to a nice total of $31.80. Only other :360: games they had were DDR Universe(?) and DOAX2 both for $9.

Glad to see some CAGs finding deals. This has been my worst Monday in a while. 3 Targets all busts. On the 4th I found a DDR pad for $9, meh I bought it.
Damn, $15 Rock Band PS2! Nice find. Did they have more copies, and are you keeping that one?
They had one copy after I left. Not sure why they were there because they had 4 or 5 that were still in the ps2 area at full price without the green dot indicating it was on clearance.

I was saving up for the 360 version but my cheap butt will keep this one instead. Pretty fun game, only thing that sucks is that my son can't play along due to his POS React guitar controller not working with the game.
ha.. checking e-bay prices.. it seems Z:pH is pretty cheap. I had no idea.
Don't take that as a statement of its quality. I loved that game from start to finish.
I went to the K mart off of US 23 today. It was like a ghost town. Sadly there were no deals to be had.
US 23? Is that the one by the 285/85 interchange by Doraville?

oh course not Tybee.. I bought it first week. With the strat guide form Toys R Us. I loved the game minus the bloody temple of the ocean king. Without that ONE temple over and over again the game would be perfect in my opinion. It's just so close to the perfect Zelda game it hurts.

Yeah off of buford hwy. Near the random ferris wheel lol.

Is that temple as bad as the dumb fetch quest for shards that Wind Waker had? Talk about tedious...

it's..different. getting around in PH is way easier than in windwaker because the world is smaller. plus in the temple you're actually doing something as opposed to just sailing.
i would've liked to have seen PH be a few levels longer and have some more side quests. it was enjoyable, but felt short for a zelda game.

Okay, ATL folk, I need a little help. I'm throwing my brother a bachelor party and of course, he's big into video games and has requested something on the order of Dave and Busters. Except I feel like that's too busy to get a group of people together to enjoy. Are there any of those bar/arcade places in town that could focus a little more on drinking and a little less on gaming? Or any other ideas would be good as well. We're huge into Rock Band so I'm almost considering renting a small place where we can set up a stage and play and what not. Any ideas for a video gaming bachelor party would be greatly appreciated.

well there's a place called Battle and Brew off powers ferry in marietta. i've only been there once and didn't really do much, but they have a rock band setup, and a few big hd tvs with all current gen systems and a good library of games. they've got some arcades and a bunch of pc's too. it's kind of small..you might want to check it out ahead of time..but the prices were good. http://www.battleandbrew.com/

Picked up another Wii at Target last night on Barret in Kennesaw, The guy mentioned he expected a few more today, not sure when.

Kristaia,

This looks perfect and the prices are great as well. There's only going to be 12 of us max, so 4 TVs is probably going to be more than enough. I'm going to give them a call today. Thanks for the help!

I do recall hearing them mention something about Xboxes among the TV and junk.

I would see about renting out Battle and Brew for a private party.
http://www.battleandbrew.com/

They have consoles, lans, big screen HDTVs, food and most important an alcohol license.

I am sure if the price is right you could mix gaming, drinking and "other bachelor party specific activites."

dudes that battle n brew place looks awesome checking out their page. I'd maybe like to get over there and have someone to play Smash with cepting they play it sterile.

they have smash tournaments on wednesdays, i think. the only problem with that place is you pay hourly to use the consoles, so it seems that would kind of discourage matching up with some random person to play.

they have a $20 all day pass which I'm ok with. $10 on Tuesdays. I may take my sister on a Wednesday. I'm cool with playing Brawl but I don't join tournaments that ban ALL items. Still if we're just playing for fun we can use whatever ruleset we want.

There is also a place called WABAGames.com near Peachtree Ind and Pleasant Hill that had all the Rock Band and other consoles set up. It might be a little easier to rent out as it sounds like a smaller operation than Battleand Brew. The number is 6784179222. Congrats to your Bro.

Battle n Brew is dope, I can't imagine anywhere being a "smaller operation" though. lol. Great place to get drunk and play some games, and its not too pricey. Post a thread for it if anybody sets it up!
How about those Hawks? I wonder if they could beat Boston on Sunday...that would be awesome.
It really is unbelievable! Wish they would have played that hard during the regular season, but perhaps it takes the playoffs to find out how to put forth that kind of effort.
It will be a tall order to duplicate at Boston Garden, but as long as Johnson stays on the court, they'll have a shot.
Tip to Woodson -- If Joe gets 2 fouls early - LEAVE HIM IN!

Hells yeah! I live down the street from the arena and I went to game 4 on monday. Freaking Awesome. Only bad thing is if we win this series there's no way they wont sign back Woodson. I want us to sign Avery Johnson so bad!

Check me out on the cover of the AJC yesterday...
