I saw a developer interview for DC vs MK and it doesn't look good. Not only can I not get over how shitty the animations looks, but they pretty much said the game is gonna be broken. Here's an actual quote:
"You can pretty much make up your combos as you go along. We didn't want to put any restriction on the player. You can pretty much do any punch or any kick and they'll go right into a special move."

QFMFT. MK has never had the best animations, but this one looks downright embarrassing. And it is going to be straight broken.

Sad thing is, it'll still sell a shitload of copies.

yeah I saw that too... very sad. I really hope whatever MK is after this Boon decides to redo the entire engine. I did like how they brought back the more combo heavy Katana in MKvDC, that's my small shimmer of hope.

yeah, I'll be getting it, just not day 1. most likely after the holiday rush and then MK since even with it broken it's still fun. I just think I'd enjoy the games more if they had more depth.

I'm getting it early cuz when you play online after it's been out for awhile, it's just not as fun when EVERYONE does the same BS.... I like the early on variety...

I'm ashamed to say the online play of MK (in the past) has been better to me than my online experiences with better fighting games lol.

I'll play MK2 if my friends want too, read : Not often. Dudes hate my Jax and say it's like the computer coming after them. I always have a ground pound ready to go. ;)

Last time I played one of them it was 15-0 before he was like "fuck this!"

The only MK I ever bothered playing was UMK3. It's still a pretty solid game. Just wish the net code on live wasn't shit.

I played the hell out of the Genesis version of MK3 back when it first came out. I actually liked it more than the SNES or Playstation versions because the Genesis 6 button controller crapped all over the regular SNES and PSX pads for fighting games.

I actually still have it around here somewhere. I need more TVs and space in my house so I can hook up my Genesis/CD/32x again.

I played the hell out of MK Decetion, the one with the 1-player story mode staring Shujinko. But I didn't like MK Armagedon. Since none of my friends like fighters I need to have one a solid solo-mode. I might DCvMK a shot a few months down the road.

I'll play MK2 on PS3 if anyone wants to play sometime. I really wanna play some online fighters this week.
I'll play you this week. I'm out of practice, but I'll just need to warm up.

I'm not good, I don't play 2 lol.

I only play UMK, but I'm definately down for some games of 2. I could probably use a good schoolin'.

I haven't played UMK3 in a long time. I don't have it for XBLA though. My friend shared MK2 with me for PS3.

MK Trilogy was fun too, because of shit like Stryker's double grenades. It's fun to screw around with and not take seriously.

damn dood I cant concentrate on my work rite now...

Street Fighter podcast frame data discussion... too much information to not pay attention X_X
But I just bought KoF 11 like a month ago!!
Unless you're a KOF fanatic there's really no need for you to pick this one up. If KOF 98' was in it then I could recomend it.

Whoever showed me GGPO.net, you are a god.

Even after getting Call of Duty 4 from PrizeRebel, nothing could keep me away from fighting real opponents in 3rd Strike. It's just way too much fun. Funny thing is, the 3S room is "just for kicks".

I'm still using a keyboard (so no Hugo Gigas Breaker for me), and I wanna buy a cheap joystick, preferrably that Mayflash USB fighting stick.
nice MM

wait... Orochi Saga is out this week? (PS2/Wii/PSP)

Nice

Picked up the Import KOF Collection (PS2) with 94-96, so I think I'm cool with KOF for now. Still waiting on KOF 2002: Ultimate Match to drop in Japan.
man... I still am scarred from Foley on UMK3. I'm only good with reptile and decent with stryker... other than that I'm shit.
I feel you there. Didn't even know UMK3 could be played at a high level until I played a couple matches with Foley. Near put me into a damn seizure.

I purchased that Mayflash stick this morning and it's already shipped. I took a chance and ordered from joystores.com. If you're willing to wait (maybe a couple days, supposedly they're fast to ship), I could post impressions on both the site and the stick itself. All in all, came out to 48.27 shipped and after CA tax. Saved a couple compared to Play-asia and their ridiculous shipping, even after one of their 5off50 coupon codes.

I commend you for using a keyboard, I can barely pull off hadoukens and it's almost a guaranteed miss whenever I try a dragonpunch.

I'll be up for some ST (super street fighter turbo 2) on GGPO tonight. Be warned, I suck. I'll be willing to play 3s as well, though I tend to become a 5 year old kid mashing buttons whenever I play that game.

I'll look into Amazon or whatnot; I just need to get PrizeRebel/PayPal/free internet stuff since I'm broke right now :(

Buying that fighting stick not only branches off to fighting games, but I guess all arcade games as well. I loved SHMUPs, maybe I can play Dodonpachi properly :)

Also, hadoukens are one of the easier moves to pull off in the keyboard. My setting is using WASD 789/456 in the numpad. For hadoukens (or QCFs in general), just hit SD. Dragonpunches is where you start getting problems. I practiced it recently just using CPU, and I think I got it right (D, SD, D+Punch).

HCB/HCF is where it's iffy. It sometimes comes out as a QCF. 360s are just out of the question. Well, at least it's easy to type to your opponent.

The Amazon description says it has 94-98.

If it does this is a day one for me.

Actually, on a keyboard you can do a dragon punch by just pressing d,s,d.

I've been using the same setup for a loooong time now on keyboard, and I can pull off just about everything except MVC2 stuff(which I can do on a stick, which I have) and 360 moves.

Wasn't '98 a dream roster? I believe only 95, 96 and 97 were included in the Orochi saga. Those were the only KoFs where Orochi was the boss, right?

'98 Ultimate Match should come out sometime in the states, hopefully. I'm also waiting for KoF 2002 UM. Looks awesome.

I wish they'd do something awesome though, like draw new sprites, similar to what was done for CvS2.

I also wish they'd release some sort of KoF for DS. A smaller screen would definitely make KoF look awesome. Those super pixelated sprites won't look as pixelated on a tiny screen.

Yeah I've also played MvC2 using a keyboard, it's rather tough to do any real good combos.

I do have a GameCube to USB adapter. But, of course, the GC controller is probably the worst controller for fighting games out there. (Sans Melee)

I also did a WASD UIO/JKL scheme, that worked out pretty well too.

My regrowing interest in fighting games makes me want to go play Soul Calibur II again in my Wii; it was tons of fun just because it was so...different. Plus, Link was in it.

You guys are right. It does have 94-98. I just asumed it was only up to 97' since techniclly 98' isn't part of the Orochi saga, and neither is 94'. To many versions of KOF 98' are gonna be floating around. But knowing this I might actually pick it up now.

Wow, I'm starting to get confused and lose track of KoF versions.

wait, looking at the amazon link provided earlier, it says 95-97. Where'd you get 94-98?

edit: ah nevermind, i see theh product description now after scrolling down. It does list 94, 95, 96, 97, 98. But up higher it says 95-97...

lol!
