so far my fingers hurt with playing on a PS3 d-pad... time to get a fight pad.

loving it. I totally understand the new system easily (well, being in the FGT helps alot).

I've decided Dan is my main and Abel is my secondary, though abel needs alot of work on my part.
 
I dunno about chun yet. No AA is real frustrating. Free jump ins for everyone!

I won like 5 ranked matches with ken 2nite just by doing jump in rh constantly. Shotos are terrible.

Yes be careful you do not get too many perfects/ultras, otherwise Gouken will come out before Akuma, and you won't unlock him when you beat him. That just happened to me and frustrated the hell out of me.
 
So, any CAGs finding fightpads anywhere other than Gamestop? I'm no longer the hardcore fighting fan I was to seriously throw $$ down in a stick, so this seems like my best bet. Any impressions? I do know that the DS3 is not working that great. It's those damn squishy trigger buttons :(
 
MarkMan, I think the cover on the left would've been a much better boxart for SF4. I hate Ken.

You can get Akuma on Medium with Zangief by just spamming LB. No UCF's required. I got...3 Perfects I think.

No retail stores other than Gamestop/Game Crazy have PS3 pads in-store. Your best bet would be ordering from Bestbuy.com, but you're going to have to pay shipping + tax as they're not available for in-store pick up.

Damn, I was so sad I couldn't get SFIV today, so I tried playing HD Remix.

All losses online, not a single win out of like, 15+ matches. Couldn't concentrate knowing that if that SFIV shipment had gotten to the right store, I could be playing it. :cry:

Anybody else having trouble pulling off Supers and Ultra with the EX2? I just can't do the QCx2 motions consistently.
 
yo Dhalsim sux... I tried to play with him in regular 1-player mode... could only get halfway -_-

and this game is so random too, like I'm playing it and it keeps giving me achievement points.

lol, I dont even really understand what those are... but regardless if u want 10 wins in a row achievement then now is the time to get it becoz everybody online sucks!!!

All I do is make my own games and boot out anyone 2 bars or less and it's great. I'm on PS3 too. Can't wait to try out the 360 version when the game and (refurbed) console comes in!

Man SFIV is crack, I just need to jack someones stick until mine comes in.
 
GGs axc. You should join the STHDR CAG nights, I'm heading them now and have a new thread (link in sig). If you can make it, we'll have a CAG night tomorrow.

Those other two, anathema and denze were CAGs as well.

So what is everyone's impression of SFIV online? It's looking very mixed. Also, any graphical or gameplay differences between the PS3 and 360 versions?
 
i havent even played online because seth took up at least 1 hr 30 mins of my time after breezing through the dam arcade mode....

enough SF for me probably 4 hrs 30 mins lol

man I suck online. then again, everyone I've played is either a shoto or a semi shoto (sagat).

I know once Option and Beef get SFIV, I'll be getting some Dictator practice with Abel.

Also it's a little silly how much you can punish whiffed Cannon Drill with Abel. EX/Non-EX Command Throw anyone?

Anyone want to play me later? I use Balrog and sometimes Dan. Though almost all of my losses are because I was dan. Damn joker. He lowered my win total to about 75%
 
Good god I'm horrible. I couldn't even beat Seth with Ryu for a while there, took me like 2 dozen tries, lol. >_<

I'd love to blame this FS EX2, but it's just me. :p

It's gonna take me a while to learn all these new characters so I can unlock more than just Sakura. Ugh.
 
My main is Dictator... but the online jumpers annoyed me so much I just started picking Rufus and started dive kicking into people's cereal boxes and birthday cakes all day.

fuck this shit...

This, I played like 7 people who thought FP shoryu was a 100% safe and viable option on wake, on punish, after jump ins, and at any random time. I felt bad just cr mk ex tatsu every time they landed, it made me seem like the scrub tactics for winning guy. -_-

I've played like 45 matches, and like 40 were shotos, with 2 vegas 1 sagat and like 2 blankas.

Ah well, there's still cags and people that don't suck.




Now I just hope I can get my stick in so I can finish challenge mode -_-

I can't seem to beat any ken with Rose. I just beat a Gouken, and damn near killed an Akuma (all 3 rounds he had a silver of health left).
 
Just play defensive with Rose against online Kens.
If a Ken is doing a random fierce srk and miss:
- you can Soul Throw them in the air.
- throw them when they land.
- cr.mp/cr.mk -> Soul Spiral (-> Super, if you have the meter) when they land.

If you have an ultra ready just wait for them to jump at you or if you're at the right distance when they fireball or anything leaving them open, give them a Shamwow(ultra).
 
Any tips for chun vs jumpy/roiding kens?

Ex SBK works when you have meter, but his shenanigans do SO much damage when they get through. Simple jump in rh/duck rh must do 25%.. that shit needs a nerf.

I've done that a few times and it actually works decently well since these people really suck. Couldn't get away with that on anyone who knows what they're doing though, some serious punishment would come.

I'm going to work on viper after school. I'm tired of helping the shoto problem.

I love hitting kids with c. mk->f. hurricane kick->f. shory. No one EVER blocks the shory. It's great.
 
There's plenty of shoto-age online.

Everyone wants to be a little Daigo. :lol:

I use Ken as a main in almost every fighting game that features him, even if he sucks in it (yes, even MvC2; noone can deny the awesome power of the hurricane kick glitch). I just like him as a character. This was before I saw the Daigo vid. Once I saw the Daigo vid, I creamed my pants.


Oh, and could someone repost that Q player video where he's making fun of the turtling Chun Li in match? I wanted to show a friend of mine, but I can't search for "Q". :cry:

Only thing I don't feel is that great in SFIV is the music. The remixes in the rival battles are great, but afaik, that's the only time they play.

edit: you guys are surprised that there's a noob infestation online...first week of any fighter is like that. -_-

then they get beat down, discouraged, or learn to play.
