Crysis 2 down, took from 4 to 1 with maybe an hours worth of breaks...pretty damn good. I suggest putting on subtitles for maximum bro (seriously, the subtitles add in extra "man" or "bra" a few times at the ends of sentences when they aren't spoken by the characters)
 
Pretty much lounged on the couch and gamed all day today. Fired up Mass Effect 2 and did the Shadow Broker and Arrival DLCs on my 2nd character.

Then I finished Limbo, resorted to a walkthrough 2 times to beat it...so the puzzles are definitely much more intuitive than those in Braid. Then I used guides to get the 6 achievement eggs I missed. Not going to bother with the last achievement for beating the game in one sitting without dying more than five times. That's a crazy achievement for only 10 pts.

Then I checked out demos for the Dishwasher games on XBLA. Seem pretty fun, I'll grab them in a sale some day.

Finally I put another hour or so into Bowser's Inside story. Enjoying the gameplay. But Jesus the story and dialogue is terrible!
 
Kind of glad PSN is down--means my roommate can't use the 15.00 he has left of what he added to my PSN wallet. Two weeks and it's mine forever!

So guys by the way I should have mentioned, on the way out of my college town Friday I got smashed into by a pick-up truck. The passenger seat window exploded, the entire door is destroyed, and I hit the back of another car. It was a time!
 
Yeah no one was hurt, and the other two cars were barely damaged. The girlfriend was in the passenger seat though and I swear I've never been as scared in my entire life as I was at that moment.

Sounds like sony really cut some corners when it came to their online security. You'd think a giant electronics corporation would know security is one of the few places you shouldn't half-ass it. Maybe nextgen it will finally catch up with xbox live (probably the same time it becomes pay-to-play).

You mean like that time when XBL was intermittently out (never knew when you would connect or get dropped either), over the course of a 2-3 week period AT CHRISTMAS OF ALL TIMES? You'd think a company like MS wouldn't underestimate the factor by which new subscribers would be joining and taxing the service... and yet it happened... but hey, at least they gave everybody Undertow to make up for it, right? What a great introduction to the "awesome online worth paying for" that was. :lol:

I would guess that's not going to happen until PS4, which at this point is rumoured for 2014. So we have a couple years before we have to worry.

That christmas wsa when I signed up for XBL and I didn't have any problems, TBH. Intermittent disconnections, but at least I could access the service.

Regardless I find problems like scalable performance and and security really interesting as a software engineer.
 
That was the year CoD4 came out, right? I remember playing a ton over my christmas break.

I was also much less involved on message boards at the time. Maybe I would have made a bigger deal. Posting on boards makes me jaded, sometimes I want to give it all up and just play games. :lol:

Really? I liked the dialogue, but not so much the story. Dialogue wasn't amazing, but it was entertaining.

The first couple of weeks I had my xbox, I was lucky if I got 2 games of CoD4 in during a session before it would disconnect.
I'd connect, and like 1 minute into the game... Disconnected from XBL. Motherfucker. Spend 30 minutes attempting to connect on and off before I said fuck it and went to play something single player.

It also probably depends on what else you were doing in the timeframe? Work? School? Anything? Because I was on vacation. So my sole purpose was sitting around and relaxing and wanting to play with my new toy. And every fucking time... couple minutes in, maybe get a full round... DROPPED. I was reaaaaally fucking aggravated. Not enough to try a lawsuit like the other idiots did (class action), but yeah, they (and Wubb) sort of ruined Christmas. :p
 
Yeah I can being on vacation and not being able to play online being a downer. Although only having a little bit of free time and not being to play isn't much better.

The bosses in MK make me not want to play arcade anymore. Sometimes shao kahn will just sit and taunt full screen, othertimes he'll infinite me to death with his hammer.
 
So, $30 in credit on amazon and nothing to spend it on. The only things I see that I want are SSFIV:AE and SFxT. Is there anything that I can't think of? Not just fighters, I just can't remember anything good coming out.
 
I think the next game on my radar is Infamous 2. I'm probably missing some big release in may though (like how red dead redemption just snuck up on me).

I had largely the same experience, though I'd gotten my 360 a couple months before it started. But I was just getting into online with Halo 3 and CoD4 and the outages were over winter break (I was in grad school) so I had more time to play and it sucked not being able to play online most nights I tried for nearly a month.

The only games I can think of in the next few months are

Fear 3
Red Faction Armageddon
Duke Nukem
LA Noire

The first 3 are coming out on PC though, so I'm guessing if you bought them it would be on Steam. And I don't think you were interested in LA Noire, so yeah, nothin'.

Yeah, there's not much coming out over the summer I'm interested in. I'll play FEAR 3 if it gets ok reviews (i.e. is at least on par with FEAR 2, if not better), but that's a wait for Goozex game.

I've got AC: Brotherhood and Fable 3 unplayed, so those are up next for me. I'll keep playing Black Ops as well, especially with more maps coming out soon. Also still playing Bowser's Inside Story on DS. That will probably take up my summer, especially since I'll be out of the country for 3 weeks in June.

If I need more to play I'd look into deals for some games I've been waiting on like Bulletstorm and Crysis 2. Didn't bite on the recent $40 deals as I figured they'd be cheaper (or available on Goozex) by the time I get around to them anyway.
