GGT 214 gained some weight

It requires a lot of time investment. From the way you talk about games I think it's at least worth a try.
Well, good. Because I downloaded it last night.

It definitely has a learning curve though. The shooting mechanics will feel a bit off initially.

We basically made this game for Capcom. All they have to do is spend the money and time and make it. They can thank us later.

Smart choice.

This.

Crysis 3 demo is pretty, even on medium settings. The MP gameplay doesn't do much for me though. Makes me want to start Crysis: Warhead.

From my brief time playing the game, I will say: fuck all aircraft forever. It's gonna take forever to unlock a rocket launcher that's capable of locking on to something...

I played DMC 1 instead and holy shit I just learned I can click in the right thumb stick and switch between force edge(the best sword in the game) and ifrit without having to go to menu everytime and I've had this game since PS2

I think I'm getting the hang of Dishonored now, at least, I'm getting the hang of reloading over and over without my blood boiling over. I wish I could straight up fight sometimes, but they definitely made it so that head on conflict is not a great idea. Also, clipping bodies alert guards...yay.

Of course, I could just play the game on easy...doesn't seem to affect the trophies anyways....

Oh look, Ni No Kuni arrived. Will I start it and not finish it, like most of my backlog? tick tok tick tok...

I remember reloading next to never in this game... just take the perk / ability / whatever that makes characters turn to ash when killed, makes the game 10x better. What are you reloading, your pistol? Or your save? I just realized just before I clicked submit that I may be interpreting this the wrong way....
I thought about buying them. The season pass is probably a bit much for me, though. I actually really enjoyed the double XP weekend. Spawns in COD are still garbage and frustrating though.
I just bought the pack, I may buy the next one as well, but I know I won't be playing the game in July and September when the last two packs likely come out so I passed on the season pass.

Yeah, I'm referring to saves. I'm trying to get the low chaos (best) ending.

It looks pretty, but is pretty terrible from a usability standpoint.

It's not as terrible as the interview they did with... Double Fine? where you could only see half of the page at any one time and had to hover your mouse over the other half to reveal it.

"Terrible" and "Double Fine" go hand in hand.

Depends on when you wanted to start playing (I have to go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can get up for my first day at my new job tomorrow) but I'd be down to play a little LoL tonight.

Congrats on the new job. Doing same stuff you were doing at the previous place?

EDIT: starting on friday is odd.
Congrats on the new job. Doing same stuff you were doing at the previous place?

Yeah it's kind of similar stuff to what I was doing before, this place is kind of a startup company that makes casino type games for Facebook and soon iOS; they use HaXe as their language instead of AS3 but those really aren't all that different and I've used HaXe a bit in the past, and the stuff for iOS is obviously going to be Obj-C/C++.

And yeah, well originally I was supposed to start this week, but they extended that to next week because I wanted to see if I could find a closer place for me and my roommate since right now the commute to my job on public transit plus a bike ride is about an hour and ten minutes one way. But rent prices for the city and peninsula are off the hook (basically to get a decent 2BR place right now in a location where we could continue without owning a car would be like $3000+ which is almost double what we pay right now). So ultimately I decided we were better off with cheaper rent and me just learning to deal with the commute, we'll keep our eyes open and see if rent comes down but right now it doesn't really make sense to move. So yeah since I told them I didn't really need additional time since we decided not to move they said I could possibly start this week, but they had to wait for my PC to come in and they still aren't sure if it will be in tomorrow, but even if it isn't I'm sure there will be HR stuff I'll have to do.

I went into the office the other day to just kind of get a feel for the commute and especially the biking portion since I just got a bike and I haven't ridden one since like middle school, haha. But I got to meet some guys I didn't meet in my interview and everyone was super nice, and there is one guy working there who I worked with at my previous job in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it's cool being able to work with him again.

--

Also, since we didn't end up moving which is going to save me a bunch of money in paying a new rent deposit and moving costs I decided I'd spend some of that money to upgrade my computer's sound stuff. Ended up getting this, these, and this for a mic.

OMG... I want your sound card...

I definitely couldn't deal with that commute. I guess on public transit you can kind of turn your brain off.

That is some crazy audio equipment.
Good shit, Icebeast. ^__^ Glad you found a new job.
Thanks Hank. :)
I definitely couldn't deal with that commute. I guess on public transit you can kind of turn your brain off.
Yeah that's why I thought I'd give it a go, it wasn't too awful with something to do, although I end up having to stand for around the first 1/4 of the trip due to having the bicycle and there being a lot of people commuting in from East Bay to SF (after the main city stops though it really thins out and it's easy to sit while supporting the bike). I'm going to get a laptop for work though so I'm probably going to end up seeing if I can do work going to and from work and then leave a bit earlier than I typically would as well.
That is some crazy audio equipment.
Yeah, the sound card should be coming tomorrow and that should be a fairly quick install. But I already have the headphones so I've been trying them out a bit just to make sure that they don't bother my ears, since that is my biggest issue with a lot of headphones since they can feel immensely painful for glasses wearers. But I found a decent amount of people posting on the internet that they were glasses wearers and found them comfortable. Seem fairly comfy so far. Fairly sure the balance is way off on them right now since I'm just running them through the headphone jack on my speakers and I think they actually need an amp to have enough power to drive them correctly. But people were saying that the amp on the Essence STX should be fine for that (although I then came across all kinds of people talking about how some really expensive stand alone amps are way better than a sound card, haha). Even without the sound card though it's crazy listening to some of the stuff you can hear in live recordings with these, haha.

I had a job offer in Chicago, 1 hour drive, hour train ride, work 4 hours, hour train ride back, hour drive back. 4 hours commute every day. Considered it, but I'd have to get up at 4 AM every day and spend so much in gas and train fare that it wouldn't even be worth it.

I have a funny story for all of you...

Picked up a girl at work the other day (my sales job, not teaching haha)... told her "if you need anything else, feel free to let me know" and gave her my cell phone #....

Texts me 20 minutes later, small talk, all that good stuff, comes on sorta strong but she's an 8/10 so I'm okay with that.

Asks me to hangout, then tells me "to be honest I'm seeing someone but that isn't going anywhere and it isn't going to last".... I bail on the plans, but she convinces just to meet up for dinner...

I go to dinner, things go great, I'm glad I didn't bail.... we continue to chat everyday (she seems really into it, and at this point I'm cautiously optimistic) via text but I'm obviously really busy between both jobs and she works 2 jobs and goes to school so we make plans to hangout this weekend (Sunday, because she is away at school M-F).....

I go out tonight (a weeknight, Thursday) after work with all my work friends, we go to a local spot.... after hanging there for a few hours, in walks 8/10 girl with some random dude, who happens to be friends with one of the guys I'm with! Me and the chick share a super awkward look and don't even say hi to each other (obviously I was lied to so I feel weird about the whole thing)....

I ain't even mad, just not sure why she convinced me to hangout in the first place.....

DUDE should have capitalized on that.

"THIS IS MY HANG OUT SPOT! WHO SAID YOU CAN STALK ME HERE?!"

of course you say it with a smile :D

Then in the wise words of Joel, go to pound town on her!
