I know I should already know the answer to this, but exactly how many days until a trade is closed by system?

I thought it was 31 but just wanted to make sure.

The reason is that after waiting 12 or so days for a game to arrive the trader contacts me (oddly enough on the exact day that the system would allow me to report the game as received) and tells me that he had sent out my game with the wrong address and had just got it returned to him. He said he was sending it out that day, but when I asked him for specific shipping info he never returned my email.

I know he could be telling the truth, or he could have just been lazy about mailing it out and waited until the last minute, or he could be scamming me and hoping to string me along until it's closed by system.

I just wanted to make sure that I didn't accidently wait too long to send feedback or report it missing. The guy's name is
I'm sure it is under 31 days (25 days or so? can't remember the exact number).
Does this other user have a high feedback?
If not, I would definitely mark the game as not received just to be safe.
(Goozex can manually fix the feedback if the game does come).

Nah the guy only has a feedback score of 20. It has said that he has sent out 5 games total since I was first matched with him. Since he hasn't received feedback on all of those, it's entirely likely that he has a couple other games that have not been received by other users yet (possibly in the same situation that I am).

I'll probably give him until wednesday or thursday at the latest. If you are right about how many days it takes to close out then I don't want to cut it too close.

thanks for the info.
Yes, I think you're being too nice. He sent me another message. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of people wanting complete games. I think if you would have left him neutral feedback like I did, he would have gotten the clue and changed his listings to disc-only.

BUMP for an update.
After looking at my completed requests, it seems that Goozex will close the trade after 21 days.

Thanks a ton for the update dude, I'm definitely reporting that game by Thursday or Friday then. That would put it at 18 or 19 days, which should be enough to receive a game.... unless the guy was lame enough to send it late & used media mail, but that's his problem. I highly doubt I'll receive it anyways.

Same thing just happened to me again. I was matched with NBA 07 on PSP. I waited the entire period while nothing happened and I got my points back. I almost instantly was matched again and again it's being ignored. I'm pretty sure it's the same seller. Annoying while other games pass me by while my points are tied up to a game that I'm probably never going to get.

I like all the recent changes. Keep up the great work!

RC

PS: I still think you have my sports pc titles overvalued to the point that I'll never sell them ( not that I don't want the points ).

Question: Is anyone here 'Wonderchuck' on Goozex?

I recently received Metroid: Zero Mission from the user Pinky. Unfortunately, what I had requested was Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. I PMed the user, and he was very apologetic, and told me he mixed up my game with Wonderchuck's. Unfortunately, I asked Pinky to have the other user contact me so we can exchange games, but I haven't heard anything since Dec 22nd.

I'm trying to hold off on leaving feedback, since it's likely the user is unavailable due to the holidays, but I figured I'd check here to see if I could get this straightened out sooner.

Just an update.

Appearantly Goozex now gives you warnings via email when a transaction is about to close automatically (which is really cool). I got a warning that 7 days are left, and will receive another on the last day before the transaction ends.

I just wanted to get you guys' opinion on this.

I received one of my trades today (Ehrgeiz for PS1) that was supposed to arrive complete. Well anyways it turns out the copy the guy sent only had the manual's cover. Should I give him the lesser "good" feedback for that?

I have listed games like that on Goozex but always listed them as disc-only because I figure it's not really a manual without it's guts. I looked at the guy's feedback and he had another positive that mentioned not getting a manual.

the guy's name is

I don't know if I would leave positive feedback for that. I would try to contact the "seller" first and see if you can straighten it out. Would a return be possible?

someone emailed me saying they listed a complete game but can not find the manual. Just game and box. Sad

I told them to ship it anyways cant really pass up a 200 pt psp game

i knew that dark allance game would never come this is about the 3rd game in the past month i had to report as never came. Seems this site is starting to get fester with scammers
That has happened to me multiple times before.
Somehow, the manual magically disappears right before shipping.
I don't mind if I'm told in advance assuming it is under 200 points.
If I'm not told in advance and the game is under 200 points, I'll leave them the 2nd feedback (game received but not as good as I would like).
Not true, it has always been like that (even here on CAG and other trading sites). There will always be scammers out there wherever you go.
Out of my 38 completed requests, 7 of those games never made it to me (AKA they were never sent out in the first place).
I don't know if I would leave positive feedback for that. I would try to contact the "seller" first and see if you can straighten it out. Would a return be possible?
I don't want a return because I'm happy with any copy of Ehrgeiz at 200 points. I would have greatly preferred it to be fully complete, but it's not an incredibly huge deal... just annoying.

I figured I'd send him the good feedback that says "The game I received plays perfectly and the condition is as I requested, but the overall package quality is not as good as expected" which would only give him 5 points.

The only other option would be to send him a neutral feeback for "I requested a "Full Package" or "Disc + Manual", but received a "Disc Only" " but I figure it's kind of a gray area because he "kind of" sent me the complete game.

I think there are more scammers but that number will increase as more and more people join goozex. I'm totally willing to put up with scammers though as long as we also get a good amount of new "good" traders as well.

Also I don't think it's just people scamming but there are a bunch of lazy traders who think "committing to send a game" means "I'll send it out when I get around to it".

I think the sending without manual thing is due to the fact that there is no option for listing your game as "Disc, insert+case". It totally sucks to have to list a game as disc only that you have the case and insert for as well. People tend to avoid trading for disc only games unless they are very rare.
I personally think that a lot of gamers would forgive buying an xbox/ps2/GC/etc game if it had no manual, as long as they knew they would get everything else.

I really wish Goozex would add an additional option for listings. I'm sure it's the reason for all these "no manual" problems.

I just started using this service and was wondering, does anyone PM their match receiver with info about the item before sending it to let them decide if it's what they really want? Like if the game is missing a manual.
I just started using this service and was wondering, does anyone PM their match receiver with info about the item before sending it to let them decide if it's what they really want? Like if the game is missing a manual.
I do. I was matched with somebody that wanted one of my complete computer games. It was complete, but the box had the UPC cut out of it because of a rebate. I pm'ed him first to let him know and the buyer was cool about it so I sent it along.

Yeah, and I've received a PM from a trader who was going to send me a game, said the manual was lost. I really wanted the game and I never use manuals anyways so I didnt mind not getting it. I had requested full package, so when I got it I just put the second positive option as feedback.
I just started using this service and was wondering, does anyone PM their match receiver with info about the item before sending it to let them decide if it's what they really want? Like if the game is missing a manual.
Really if you listed your item's condition according to the guidelines set by Goozex, there should never be a reason to contact people at the last minute about not having a manual. The only exception would really be if you listed your complete item as complete, then the manual was damaged or lost at the last minute. In this case it would be totally understandable.

The problem is people that are trading games that don't have manuals are listing their games as complete instead of disc only. Obviously they are doing so so that they will be matched sooner, seeing as many people do not request disc only games. This is totally weak.

However like I said before this problem would be fixed if there was an additional way to list games that are only missing their manual.

I wish there were some more options or a note section when listing. For example, I just sold a copy of Dead Rising this morning as disk only. I did this because I'm missing the manual. I have the case and cover jacket but I can't be that specific. The case isn't in the best shape but I hope they don't complain since they're only going to expect the disk. It would be nice to put a note on my listing.

Still, they're the best in my opinion.

Negative?

You traded for a game and got a preview movie? Unless the guy didn't know it was the game but cmon, it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

I received an unplayable disc

I received a broken disc

I have NOT received the game
(You have 1 more days left before you can report this game not received)

The game I received is a pirated or illegal copy

i know neg. but where would i check it.

I requested the game, Metriod Fusion, a few months ago.
I got the game just fine and all that BUT it was the euro edition for some reason instead of the US edition. As far as I can tell, it was a legit cartridge so I left the other guy a feedback of "game recieved, but not as good as I would like" (5 points). Just wondering if I did the right thing? Would the rest of you have given him the full 10 points (a good trade) or 0 points (wrong game sent out)?

On a separate note, don't you have to be 18 or older to trade on Goozex? I just got a PM from someone and it reads
"Yea, srry but I did not YET send out your game cause I didnt not have a chance to. I will most likly in either thursday or firday this week, latest saturday and will make it first class :)".
ahhhh
I know my grammer isn't perfect but I would expect a 4th grader to type better than that. On top of that, this guy is sending my game a week late and is going to make it up by sending it 1st class instead. Yipee?!

Personally, I would leave him the worst feedback which is "The game I received is a pirated or illegal copy" which will result in a -150 points (or so) deduction in the feedback. I find it difficult to believe that someone isn't able tell the difference between a PS2 game and a PC interactive demo/bonus disc. Hell... even slidecage is able to detect the difference with ease. Opps.. That was an appropriate low blow (but you know I'm just joking, right?)
:)
I'm guessing there was an intent to cheat the system which is the reason for the harsh feedback. BUT in the end, it depends on how pissed off you are.

wow...
I didn't realize this issue was so prevelent.
Goozex seriously needs to do something about it.
My vote goes to ManChowder's suggestion (it might have been mentioned earlier before, but I can't remember) of adding an option which shows that it includes the case & game, but NOT the manual.

Wow, I guess Slidecage was right... there is a rash of scamming going on.

Of the last 3 trades I had incoming, all of them have issues.

- Ehrgeiz sent with damaged/cover only manual- (not a HUGE deal but still never should have been listed or sent as complete).... trader name

- STILL waiting on my copy of Death Crimson OX- (the guy has been feeding me all kinds of excuses and keeps telling me that the game is coming... he has ONE more day before feedback is sent)..... trader name

- Toy Story Racer, which was listed and requested as complete, came in the mail today disc-only in a Goozex "envelope"... trader name

The Toy Story one is really pissing me off. I would never have spent 200 points on that game if I knew it was coming disc-only. I left him the neutral feedback:
I requested a "Full Package" or "Disc + Manual", but received a "Disc Only"

...but how will this help me.. or hurt him really?

I agree with what someone else said about the problem being that some of these "adult" traders are kids. The rest are just irresponsible adults and scammers.

It doesn't help you and it doesn't hurt him.
(yea... I know that wasn't a real question but I feel like answering it anyway).
Goozex needs to fix this feedback issue.
If the problem is not within the sender's control (usps lost or damaged the game),
then a neutral feedback would be appropriate than a negative feedback
(assuming the sender is in good standing and this was just an isolated incident).
However, if someone sends out the wrong game (or incomplete game),
a negative feedback should be handed out instead a neutral one.
Otherwise, I might as well send out random demo discs on high value games every now
and then since a neutral feedback won't hurt me at all.

disclaimer:
I'm not actually going to send out random demo discs just for fun.
It was just a theoretical statement.
:)

I suggested this a long time ago, but Goozex said that they wanted to keep the matrix simple. I still maintain that having the box but not the manual is a lot more common than the reverse, though, and the current system gives you no way to indicate that.

EXACTLY!.....if nothing is done to these people then what's to stop others from doing this?

Or if everyone is going to bend the rules then why shouldn't I "bend" the feedback rules and "accidently" send the wrong feedback(a negative), so I would get my points back and screw the sender back.
Or I could accidently list my disc-only games as complete so they would get traded faster.

I wouldn't do this of course because I have a guilty conscience and it would bug me forever, not to metion that it's just flat out wrong.

Like wbc1228 said, what's to stop others fromn doing this? If there is no real negative result from purposely sending a game in the wrong condition, then is listing the different conditions even worth it in the long run?

yeah I thought that idea had been mentioned a long time ago. I can see how they would want to keep it simple, but like you said I think people are more likely to want a PS2/Xbox/GC/360/PS3/Wii that has the case and insert instead of just the manual.

This is a fact at my local Gamestops. People are more willing to buy a game that has it's case and artwork, than a game and manual in a crappy generic Gamestop case. I like that the matrix match is simple but I don't think a fourth choice for condition would over-complicate it too much.

I'm bummed because I have 5 games I'm waiting on and can't use my points to buy some hard to find games that are available. Will the transaction numbers ever be boosted or is it stuck on 5? I'm really loving this site. I haven't really been scammed YET. If I was scammed, I know Goozex would take care of me.

Does anyone here go by the name of ||||||. I'm supposed to be getting Unreal II (Xbox) says shipped on December 21, only a few days left and I'll have to leave negative feedback. Contacted the individual and they stated hello Yes, I send :). That fine grammatically correct statment doesn't do much to boost my confidence I will get the game, but I am still hopeful. I know I'll get my points back but after the Oblivion scammer I had it saddens me to see these individuals harming the community of good wholesome gamers. I'll give them til the 9th maybe before I leave my feedback, 2 days before Goozex closes the trade.

***EDIT***

Update, on closer browsing of their profile (I didn't realize we could see comments now) it seems this user is notorious for sending late games. Unfortunatly that dog won't hunt, I understand busy scheduals but you commit to something you do it. I always mark 3 day shipping and usually send it out within that period. I've always got that 3 day cushion if I'm busy, but typically I get games out sooner than later.

As your feedback increases (by sending out more games), the number of open trades will go up as well according to the table (link below).
Once your feedback goes to 150, it goes from 5 to 10 open trades.

just cause they say they are available doesnt mean that they are. the person might never confirm the shipping or it could be a newbie who put a game in their libary when they should of putted it in the wanted list

Ah...should have looked harder.

I just sent out 3 pricey today and have 5 lower priced games coming. Loving the site. I have Jade Empire and Nija Gaiden Black coming my way as well as COD3 for Wii.

I'm flush with points and 2 games that I'm salivating over became available yesterday but can't get them because of the 5 games limit I have now. I hope nobody gets them. It's been 24 hours without them being claimed.

Oh well...

True. That happened with me on NBA 07 for PSP. I "claimed" it 3 times but the person never approved sending it. I ended up putting it on hold. That pissed me off since I missed out on a shot at Gears since my points were in limbo.

I have a game that's about to be closed out by the system. I was matched on December 14th and the user PMed me on the 28th saying that he hadn't been able to get the game sent, but would send it "2-day priority." Still nothing. User name is xphyle. I guess I'll just have to leave negative feedback.

EDIT: I PMed the guy and he said that he sent the game on the 3rd first class mail. I know the holidays slowed things down and whatnot, but that seems like a pretty damn slow turnaround. It didn't come in today's mail, so tomorrow is the last chance. But of course if I give him negative feedback, he's going to think that I'M the one being unreasonable...
Here's what may be a silly question...

Sure, I don't any reason why you can't.
Just let the other user know in advance.

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not being around the last week...I caught a nasty bug that put me down for awhile...

Have you guys seen our new advanced search? We also fixed the firefox bug in it.

If anybody has an urgent question that hasn't been answered (you guys do a great job of that!) go ahead and PM me...I'll try to respond ASAP.

As for the "case + disc - manual" shipping -- icruise stated correctly that our matrix match is designed to get most trades and keep it simple. So as a reference if you receive "case + disc - manual" then that should be considered disc only. If that's not what you requested then you can leave the appropriate feedback. Will try to get something about that up in FAQ soon.

Ok have a great weekend and if you're on the East Coast -- enjoy the weather!

The advanced search looks just great! It seems to have just about any option that you could hope for. The only improvement I might suggest would be to make the search terms generate a URL that could be bookmarked so you wouldn't have to input the terms every time you want to use it. I don't know if that's feasible or not.

By the way, one other unrelated suggestion is that import games should be clearly labeled as such. There are a number of Japanese imports on the site, for example, that wouldn't be playable without a modded/foreign game console, or that would be difficult to understand if you don't speak Japanese. Often it is fairly obvious from the title if something is an import, but not always.

After months of successful trading, I have been scammed twice in the last 24 hours. I have received two negative feedbacks for items not received. I send out all my packages USPS first class with delivery confirmation. In both cases I went to the USPS website, typed in the delivery confirmation number, and both packages have been delivered to the addresses given, one on 12/28 and one on 1/3. I have proof of the deliveries that I can submit to Goozex to prove my innocence. I would like to get my points back, as the transactions totalled 850 points. Thanks!

Chucklez1980 is the same user that tried to scam slidecage by sending
him the pc demo of Baldur's Gate instead of the ps2 game.
Seems like this isn't dragon22's first scam either.
He pretended to send mjhurt the game Dead Rising (xbox).
I wish there was a way for us to block specific users.

Yep, those are the two guys. They should definately be banned.

sadly it looks like scammers are becoming more and more common, not just a couple bad apples like we originally thought.

and if what has happened to Dr. Frielgood is any indicator, then I'll be much less likely to actually post new trades(beyond what I have up). If it's going to boil down to people receiving games, reporting them as not arriving, and then re-spending the refunded points then we have a huge problem.

On a good note I finally received my copy of Death Crimson OX from last month. The guy lucked out and I received it just before I was going top send feedback. The guy didn't even "re-send" it when he said he did...

..should have been shipped by December 18th

... game was postmarked January 3rd.... lame.

Why can you nolonger see your position in line for a requested game? It used to say you are 4th in line and now that is gone?

Well I've got three days before the system closes my trade on Unreal with ||||||, has anyone done a trade with him here before? His feed back is generally positive, though it's indicated that he is late with shipping, somethign I have little sympathy for. I'm going to see if it comes today or tommrow but if not then tommrow I have to mark him down for bad feedback unless I can be convinced otherwise from someone here that he is legit. User says "Yes, I ship :)" and thats it. Doesn't build my confidence. Overall my experience with Goozex is still positive with the majority of my trades going off with out a hitch.

So does anyone here go by the name 'onerok' on Goozex? He's got all positive feedback, so I'm guessing this was just an accident rather than a scam, but I received the case and manual for Sonic Mega Collection on GC, but there's no disc inside...
