Looks like the "source" leaked the setlist for GHIII as well, so there's a good chance this is the real deal:

The monster pile of songs appeared on GameFAQs and traces back to an email by the same person who leaked the Guitar Hero III track list, apparently.

I just shat myself. Thanks a lot, deadite 76.:)

That setlist is pretty good, but it seems more than half I don't care about. I'm going to have a hard time getting through the first 4 tiers without hanging myself. I am really exicted about Zak Wylde's inclusion in here as a boss as well as theose 3 Tool songs.

Tool = instant purchase. Period. I love Tool and playing Lateralus on drums would be insane. I pray to whatever God(s) are out there that A) Tool is in the game and B) this is the set list. It's a great list of songs!

Goddamn holy motherfucking shit that's the best fake/possibly true list I've ever seen
Still upset about the inclusion of boss battles, though.
I'm with you on that. I hate the boss battles. It kills the games for me. I don't play these games to do boss battles. I play them for the songs. At least they did it right with GH:Aerosmith where you didn't have to beat Joe Perry to get the Achievement for beating all of the songs. Though if you want to unlock him for the Buy All Characters achievement you have to beat him.

wow, i hope that set list is true. the more i read, the sweeter it became.. pink floyd? gnr - paradise city?johnny b goode? master of puppets? beat it with van halen?? sweet home alabama? lots of tooooool!!!! amazing! this looks much better than rb2's list, dare i say.

It looks pretty good. I'm still hopped up on the Rock Band 2 setlist even more, though.

Ultimately, it comes down to compatibility: if GHIV works with all the RB equipment on PS3 (so far compatibility is only confirmed for 360), then I'll buy the game. If not, no thanks.

A list of songs has been floating around online today, purportedly comprising the Guitar Hero: World Tour setlist. With songs from bands like Tool, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy, it looks like a music-game lover's dream. Well, the folks at Activision and Red Octane are pinching us all awake with the announcement that it's a fake. We spoke with a representative who confirmed that, while some of those songs are indeed in the game (Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher," for one), the bulk of it is wishful thinking and pure speculation.
And we were so looking forward to the boss battle with bassist Sting, too. Drat.

Ah dang, that fake list was awesome in my opinion. I'm leaning more towards GH4 and I never grabbed RB1 because of the price and all the shitty plastic instruments. I have my own set so I wasn't going to go out and buy a plastic one but GH4 looks promising to me.
Yeah, that is a SICK track list. What struck me as odd is the one or two song "tours" . That didn't seem to make sense to me.
It seemed to me like they were reducing tour sizes down to the same size their DLC packs are, so you can just download new "tours" and add them on seamlessly. But since the whole thing is fake anyway this speculation is kinda moot.

Oh, that makes sense. I was reading some threads at gamefaqs (i know, i know) and people were disputing the legitimacy of the leaked list. I don't know, it could be legit. I hope it is.

Besides Tool, Kickstart my heart would totally kick ass.

i just wish GH would take a note from rock band and release their DLC at lower costs, as well as individiual songs. if they want to be the itunes of rhythm games, they ought to work on the sales structure. i do like the idea of having different venues with the dlc, but that would only help them rationalize extra costs.

I am dying to play Starlight By Muse, and hope that is the song, but I am going to guess GH does Hysteria even though RB has it as DLC.

Beat it by MJ should be ALOT of fun, and a huge name for them.

It was disappointing when that original list was debunked, but the slow trickle of confirmed tracks has been very pleasing so far! My only real gripe is that "In The End" is an odd choice of Linkin Park song (for this game). But damn... BEAT IT!!!!

More confirmed songs:

Airbourne – "Too Much Too young…"
At the Drive-in – "One Armed Scissor"
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – "Weapon of Choice"
Bob Seger – "Hollywood Nights"
Dinosaur Jr. – "Feel the pain"
Silversun Pickups – "Lazy Eye"
Survivor – "Eye of the Tiger"

But they also said these were previously confirmed, while some of them weren't:

Billy Idol – "Rebel Yell"
Blink 182 – "Dammit"
Foo Fighters – "Everlong"
Jimi Hendrix – "Purple Haze Live"
Jimi Hendrix – "Wind Cries Mary"
Linkin Park – "What I've Done"
Paramore – "Misery Business"
Sublime – "Santeria"
The Doors – "Love Me Two times"
The Eagles – "Hotel California"
Van Halen – "Hot for Teacher"

Link

Like how both GH:WT & Rock Band 2 have Eye of the Tiger. I really hope they don't end up with having a bunch of songs in both games again

They also said these songs are confirmed on the Ozzfest setlist on an Ozzfest stage:

Metallica - "Trapped Under Ice"
System of a Down - "BYOB"
Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society - "Stillborn" (with Zakk as a playable character)
Masters? Jeez, I hope so.:bouncy:
Neversoft has said GH4 will be all masters, just like RB2.
Here's something for the Tool fans:

http://www.destructoid.com/rumortoi...songs-for-guitar-hero-world-tour--98831.phtml

Supposed screens showing Vicarious, Schism and Parabola. The first two are no-brainers, but Parabola is an excellent, rock-oriented song. The images are definitely in-line with the imagery at Tool shows and their CD inserts.
Those are garbage! While I do hope those 3 songs are in the game, I'm not sure why they'd change up the appearance so much from the last game.

I'm assuming they're 'post song' menu screens. At least I hope so. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if Maynard and Co. did something goofy, like refused to allow Neversoft to use their likenesses. Anyway, the art style is definitely in line with Alex Grey's work. I'd say 65% chance these are legit.

Trapped Under Ice, nice, though I'd rather have "For Whom The Bell Tolls," but can't complain if it's from "Ride The Lightening."
