No? You need to get all the non-DLC weapons for the final endings (which are totally fucking worth jumping through hoops for), and I'm pretty sure you don't have to do any gardening or fishing for those.
There's no weapon associated with that quest?

Then why the fuck did I spend so much time fishing?

Was there an achievement for it?

The series of fishing quests were needed for 100% quest complete, but I don't think even the achievement needed 100%, maybe 60%~90% quest complete.

The achievement was catching some big hard fish, and you could only hook/win pulling it up with highest fishing rank. Which was only rewarded from doing the fishing quests.

None of those were requirements for any of the 3 extra endings as far as I remember. ;)

Edit: I'm pretty sure you couldn't buy the weapon you get from flashback scene, but you could repeat that scene over and over (to level/farm) anyway.

ZELDA IS NOT AN RPG.

I DON'T CARE BECAUSE LINK TO THE PAST 2 MOTHER fuckERS :hot:

Yes, I am excite.

Kinda funny. They could make a game functionally identical and just call it "a top-down Zelda game", but saying "Link to the Past 2" gets them so much more attention.

Link's Awakening is the only LttP sequel I'll ever need. :nottalking:
Put VII behind me, think I'll try out V next. I figure I'll just review the entire franchise by year's end.
I love V, but now that I think about it, it may be because it's one of the more systems-focused Final Fantasies. Also, it has Faris.

I'll check out your review of VII tomorrow; it's getting late here.
I actually did get to IV already. Played the PSP remaster and had a good time.
Oh, ok. I didn't see it in your sig and made the assumption that you hadn't. Haha, my bad.

don't forget minish cap, that was a fantastic game.

Well, I got up to the last floor in non-Diggle Gods Dungeons of Dredmor yesterday.

And today, I warped to the wrong place and Lord Dredmor killed me :cold:

However, I've learned a bit more about how various items, stats, etc. work during that run, and I also got an achievement for Dredmor killing me, so I guess it wasn't a total loss...

Hmmm. Crotch, did you accept the Dungeons of Dredmor gift? It says you haven't accepted it on my side but you clearly downloaded and played it since I gifted it to you then.

The Japanese title of Link to the Past essentially got the same name for that game with a 2 slapped on the end. So I'm considering it Link to the Past 2 until I am told otherwise.

Did it give you Conquest of the Wizardlands too? That expansion wasn't out when I had the "Complete" Edition but Steam says you own it. Just a bit curious.

Just wondering if my second copy that isn't broken includes it or not. Normally it doesn't, but there's always the possibility.

hmm, good catch

they are confirming that it is a direct sequel... which i guess would be the first direct sequel to a zelda game since link's adventure?

They're playing it as "The same world as Link to the Past, but different dungeons." I haven't head confirmation on whether it's the same link or not, but I'm assuming not. Possibly someone in the same direct blood line. Not that it really matters though.
Nope. Just the first expansion. Picked up the others because they were free and $3, respectively.
Re-opened Steam and it's gone. Must have just been a cached inventory.

It puts me in a bad mood that I can't properly review XI for this project. The community is far from dead but it's just too monumental a game to explore. I might just avoid both MMOs altogether.

But.. but.. but... I value your reviews, so how would I know which one to play?

Haven't played that one, but the graphics look pretty nice (except for the inventory screen :whistle2:?).

However, if you're looking for a great sci-fi roguelike, FTL is fantastic. It lacks certain traditional roguelike trappings, but it's super addictive.

Oh, yeah. Forgot about that one. It's been on my to-get list for a while. Just waiting for the appropriate sale. :) I love space combat. Not the fast paced small fighter ship kind like Wing Commander, but the large ship, possibly turn-based kind. Fun.

If anyone has suggestions for that type of game, please let me know.

Does that have any connection to Sword of the Stars, or is it like a complete trademark infringement?

Edit: Yes, apparently, it's the same people. There's a demo on Steam as well...

Playing the demo of The Pit. I'm liking it. It's more traditional. You decipher parts of messages, and they carry over to your next games. It's much less like FTL, but much more rogue-like.
any good RPGs on 3ds besides Waifu Wars?
Not sure what game you're actually referring to, but of the ones I've played I'd recommend Tales of the Abyss (basically a good port of the PS2 game), Fire Emblem Awakening, and Etrian Odyssey IV.

He is referring to Fire Emblem of course....what else would Wafu Wars mean? Lol only know cause I googled it : )

I mean there aren't that many options for it to be on the 3DS so I had a hunch that was what we were talking about (Waifu Wars still doesn't make a lot of sense as a code name though). Also the game isn't all about getting everyone hitched it's also about popping out and training kids you've selectively bred, my son is a frickin' monster.

Almost done with Tales of Graces f. Gonna grind a few more titles in the last dungeon for a bit first. I haven't touched any of the sidequests, and probably won't. Never have much cared for Tales sidequests.

Almost done with P2: IS. Should be at B5F of the final dungeon tomorrow. Then off to the abandoned factory for a little bit of grinding. There's a couple level 60 personas I think I want.
(Still haven't decided on whether I should go for the ultimate weapons)

Then set aside one night or a couple hours for the boss fights and ending.

Slowly working on Dark Souls, now. Geez, there is a lot of backtracking and running around, especially to get back to the one blacksmith I've located. Demon's Souls was much neater in that regard. I loved Demon's Souls — I'm not liking this game as much.

Being on the PC probably doesn't help. Smaller userbase means less interaction online. :( Not as fun. Does look a lot nicer, though, so at least there's that.

Also,
Please don't let there be an equivalent to the Pure Bladestone in this game.

Edit: On the bright side, I did see in the DS2 interview that they're working to improve the traveling and tedium factors that were found in Dark Souls.

harvest moon a new beginning is getting a lot more fun now that there's stuff to do.

before blueprints and before town restoration plan, the game is sooooo slow....

Got up to Lord Dredmor again and died, again, but not before whittling his HP down to half. I now have a good idea of what to do when facing him for the third time.

The next character I rolled died on the third floor, but that wasn't a big deal since I realized shortly before his death that I'd neglected to give him the Master of Arms skill tree. Now I'm on the second floor with yet another new character

I just wanted to mention that I really like NISA's placeholder covers on Amazion (All black with a stylized game logo) better than the actual covers they put on their games. They should make all of their covers two-sided with that placeholder cover on the back.

Edit:

Oh yeah, I also wanted to ask people about RPG Maker 3 on PSN. I saw it was added recently, and in reading a few things I found out that you can't share created games through the PSN (which I always thought seemed perfect, but will sadly be be something we'll probably never see). My question is, how is this handled? Would you basically have to back up you entire game save data and send it to someone else? That seems a bit unweildy, and would be a big disappointment.
