How well would a Sega Saturn USB controller work on a PS3 with the Sega Genesis Collection, fighters in general, and PSN games too?
It works just fine with fighters and in BC.

I really wish I had one X_X

If anyone knows where I can get one, let me know.

Wolf: " I was born on the battlefield, raised on the battlefield... Rockets, gunfire, screams... they were my lullabies... I watched the stupidity of mankind through the scope of my rifle. "

" I finally understand. I wasn't waiting to kill people, I was waiting for someone to kill me. A man like you. You're a hero. "

Snake: "People call mercenaries like us "Dogs of War." But you're different. You are a Wolf... You will die the proud wolf you are."

Wolf: "OK hero...set me free"

That Sniper Wolf cinematic from the game... so wow way back in 98... + the music playing or that scene..

Shit is hot fiyah..

I was just thinking who's death in MGS1-4 was the most emotional/best? For myself it's a toss up between
Grey Fox, Sniper Wolf, The Boss, Big Boss, and Emma. The scene with Otacon talking to Sunny about Snake going away was really sad as well

actually i agree that
The Boss's ending was the most emotional, i think the most resonating one has to be Big Bosses death when he states "This is good..."... it hits me every time how strong that moment is.

If I really had to choose it would be
The Boss, followed by Grey Fox. Just because of the whole story/history of The Boss and BB.

I didn't get to play much yesterday, other than horseshoes and some SF3 Third Strike. I probably won't get much gaming in today either. I'll finally be getting Rez HD though, thanks to a trade I did for a 1600 point card for PS2 Rez. What else should I buy?

I guess the MGS talk is still going, eh?

Played some more Wild ARMs 5 yesterday. It's growing on me, and I think I'll play it through to the end after all (unless it gets bogged down and deadly boring, like FFXII did, but I really don't see that happening).

Also, would anyone here who got Etrian Odyssey II recommend it to someone who didn't play the first game? I'm semi-curious about it.

I don't have EO II yet, but I do plan on picking it up soon. If you like good old fashioned dungeon crawlers like Eye of the Beholder and Wizardry, you'll like the EO games. They are light on story and can be boring for some, but I enjoy the challenge, and having to draw your own map adds a little extra to the exploration and gives you something more to do than just grinding.

I've just been playing some more P3. I'm just past the beach vacation now, so I guess thats about a third completed if the back of the case is correct in stating this is about a 70hr game.

Gonna try and play some MGO, since I still haven't played it at all.

Attn competitive fighter players:

The OTT doesnt seem to recognize the reality that SD content will have a minuscule amount of input lag on HDTVs due to scaling. Someone go in there and set them straight.

Attn Dr Mario Kart:

You're to Nintendo what The Mana Knight is to Sony.

it was supposed to be sum higher profile shyt put out by some tech company and they didnt kno what the hell they were doing.

everybody was so pissed off...

Let me point out that DMK appeared, saying that "all HDTVs have some sort of lag". Period.

After he riled a few people up, he refined his argument, pointing out the fact that SD content lags on HDTV.

Arguing is fun.

How's it goin', Rolento?

Yeah, you have to ignore DMK on that shit.

He's the only person I've ever encountered who has said they'll never buy an HDTV. If the Wii was in HD, he'd be singing a very different tune I'm sure.

You're very much right in that he's the Nintendo version of TMK or Thomas.

Except that you didnt read my first statement, from which all the other ones stemmed:
Its all about playing that SD content without display lag.

Except that you didnt read my first statement, from which all the other ones stemmed:
That's fine and dandy, an' everything -- especially since I wasn't a part of the argument... I was merely pointing out how funny your claims were. Such as this gem:
Like I said, most people dont notice. Dallow and Strell didnt think their TV lagged, until I came over and told them so. I'm sure it doesnt when they're on actual HD content.
Normally, I just scroll over your posts, so I could see how someone would happen to stumble upon and read your longer, unrefined "all HDTVs lag" post, especially since it was quoted a few times.

Besides, I don't think there was much of an argument, anyway -- more or less, just people having a good laugh at your expense.

If ever I need a questioned answered, I hope that you can come over to my house and tell me so.
Attn Dr Mario Kart:

Eh. Only DMK actually manages to make sense, and doesn't try to annoy as much as TMK does.

DMK has severe superiority issues, whereas TMK has a dangerously low self-esteem.

Also, TMK's posts are usually unintentional comedy goldmines.

TMK > DMK

I think both are good guys. Howz about that? :D

Agreed.

Without getting too much onto the subject of sd gaming on HDTVs, yes there is lag. From a competitive standpoint, I can't stand it at all.

In fact, not sure if people know. But playing a PS2 or PS1 game on a PS3 (regardless of model or type of BC) will always have at least 3 frames of input lag. This has been tested countless times by a very knowledgeable member of the fighting game community and his testing and results prove consistent across the board.

It may or MAY NOT be an issue to you, but if you want the best experience possible (timing/gameplay wise), play your PS2/PS1 games on a PS2/PS1(PS1 games have no issue on PS2).

If you'd like to read up on more of this, just post up and I'll provide sources/testing reference.

In the meantime, who loves arcade sticks? I do!

I would like to read up on that. I especially like having source material to cite.

Thats interesting that the PS3 will produce 3 frames regardless of the TV.

i though that was when you used HDMI
i though that was when you used HDMI
Not just HDMI, all the time. On any TV you use no matter what the connection is.

There is at least 3 frames buffer rate when using the PS3 for PS2/PS1 games.

Some people might not notice it/can't notice it. But those that are used to specific timings (usually competitive fighting gamers and bemani/music genre gamers) will pick up on it (at least I hope so lol)...

I am about to hop on for some MGS4.

yea i DO notice it...its a pain when playing guilty gear or ddr

I guess I should be thankful that I don't play anything where "3 frames of input lag" mean anything. When I push buttons things happen when they should on my TV, and that's all that matters to me :)

Ugh, went furniture shopping today. My wife and I are both kinda shell shocked from it all. We've gone from doing almost everything we'd want in one fell swoop to possibly not getting anything for now and doing it piece by piece as we get a chance. Lawn chairs in the game room FTW! ;)

I think I found people from school to buy all the speaker sets I was selling at a good price. So that's good. They get a deal, I get them out of the apartment before we move.

I feel like I should play something but am feeling pretty unmotivated.

Does the OTT Thread get repeated Mod warnings for talking about games rather than sticking to pointless off topic shit?
Does the OTT Thread get repeated Mod warnings for talking about games rather than sticking to pointless off topic shit?
Nope, Off Topic Thread is whatever it wants to be. Off topic ramblings. Game talk is fine there, though it should go in here.
Where're you getting those pictures, Gwen?
Gimme a quarter.

Been playing Riviera on GBA quite a bit and I'm liking it alot.

Gonna pick up Yggdra Union on the GBA with that 20% off coupon tomorrow to start on that after I finish Riviera.

Thats real interesting. So its something that could be fixed if the PS3 didnt buffer 3 frames of video when playing PS1/2 games, which I guess it doesnt really have to do (I dont think).

Thanks for the links.
