Been playing Riviera on GBA quite a bit and I'm liking it alot.
I have the game for my PSP. I really should get around to playing it sometime...

I played Riviera for GBA and just couldn't get into it. I owned it for a couple weeks and then wound up trading it to a friend for Zelda: Minish Cap. Good trade, I thought.

I watched the recent vid for Dead Space over at IGN. Strategic Dismemberment sounds like some kinda death metal band, but looks to be an interesting aspect. My anticipation for this game increases.
actually, one last one.

That is the last time I let you sketch me! You said you wouldn't put it on the internet!

I played, beat, traded and then bought and kept sealed Riviera. It was fun. I wonder how much I could get for my sealed copy. Is there any difference between the two versions? Well besides one is a cart and the other is a UMD.

I don't believe there were any big differences between the two. The only thing I can recall is the PSP version has better music. And I think they may have change a few things around in the game.

What constitutes beating a 360 game for a general gamer?

Completing the story on whatever level suits you best, completing the story on the hardest difficulty, getting every achievement, or completing the story and getting every achievement?

I think when I make a run through my backlog next week I'm going to beat my games on the difficulty that suits me best (I usually choose medium/normal) and I'll single out all the achievements that are reasonably attainable.

I would say you nailed it. Simply beating the game on the difficulty your most confortable with would be "beating" the game for a general gamer. From there , beating on the hardest difficulty , getting 100% (if applicable) and getting all the achievements would be progressively more hardcore. Completing the story and getting every achievement is redundent since you usually have to beat the story to get every achievment anyway.

What your doing with your backlog is basically the same as what I'm doing. Just beating the games to complete the story/campaign mode , then going back later to get 100% and or getting all the achievements later.

anyone who where i can get a VERY VERY cheap copy of Gears of War for xb360? mine has 2 large cracks on different sides and layers of the dvd so i cant play it (dont wanna risk it exploding in my 360 like my last one)...or any1 got a cheapy one for me? i dont wanna play Halo 3 -_-...btw, i need it cause i play with friends and CAGs

sry for being if im being offtopic...so whats everyone doing?
sry for being if im being offtopic...so whats everyone doing?
Putting together a scary huge list of the games I wanna try to get to in my backlog for the choose games from my backlog thread.

Oh you mean actually playing games?;) I'm about halfway through Halo 3 , and about halfway through the last case (number 4) in Phoenix Wright 2.

I think the most epic gaming moment I've experienced while I've owned my Xbox 360 (1/3/05-?) is co-oping Halo 3 but more specifically the last level. That level with the two scarabs when my buddy was transporting me from scarab to scarab might have been the most intense but the last level was pretty epic.

Judging games I own that have a story, and it isn't a Crackdown-esque story.

Epic scale:
Halo 3 - 10/10
Gears - 7/10
Call of Duty 4 - 7/10
Call of Duty 2 - 6/10

Bioshock will probably be up there with Halo when I finish.

I am on my third play through of MGS4. I got DBZ Burst Limit yesterday and I still want to play MGS4. I might just return it and keep playing MGS4. I am one figure away from unlocking a gun. Yay! I am also collecting photos. I am doing sexy photo shoots of the Beauties! I will post them here. And probably the MGS4 thread. Anyway, having a lot of fun!

Get DBZ again in a few months when its $30-40. Or even a few months after that for $20ish.

Yeah. I should. But money isn't why I want to return it. I more or less want to return it because I know I probably won't play it until I am done with MGS4. By that time, it very well could be $20-$40. I will con my buddy into letting me keep the Blu-ray movie and slip cover.

Anyone want to tell me if Splinter Cell Double Agent is worth playing? I was thinking about grabbing that and/or Megaman Anniversary Collection tomorrow.

You thought Halo 3 was epic, really? I haven't played the first 2, but I own and have beaten the third 100%. Not to be rude, but I thought it was so boring and somewhat corny, to be honest. The pace is very slow, and the ending was pretty weak.

You want epic? Go play Final Fantasy, Shadow of the Colossus, Heavenly Sword, MGS, etc.
You want epic? Go play Shadow of the Colossus, Heavenly Sword, MGS, etc.
I agree with those suggestion for EPIC.

yes....halo 3 was BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORNING!!!

Damn, I got so much to do today, but all I want to do is play more Persona 3.

I did play a little MGO last night. Long enough to know I really really suck at it. Heh. Guess I need some more practice.

I still think the endgame to the first Halo was better than Halo 3's end game. Although Halo 3 was vastly improved from 2's it's not even worth mentioning. But 3 was only epic insofar as it was channeling 1.

What's up GGT? Back from my weekend of working. Been playing alot of portables at work lately. Some FF5 on DS and FFT on PSP. Anything good coming out this week?

Morning GGT, had a good weekend for gaming. Made some progress on Enchanted Arms, played a lot of Lost Planet Colonies online (sweet), squeezed some online cheesemints out of Def Jam Icon before they shut the server down (game sucks a bit TBH), played some Feeding Frenzy and Pacman CE, and finished up with a good long session on Burnout Paradise.

I'd forgotten how much fun Burnout Paradise is, I think having a break from it for a bit was a good idea. Also managed to grind out some more races on Forza 2.

I think the first epic games I ever played were Myth and Exile on the Commodore 64, many moons ago.

EDIT - I think Daroga is bang on the money about Halo,
Halo>Halo3>Halo2

Isn't FFTA2 coming this week?

Hey, benjamouth. How is Enchated Arms? I'm thinking about picking it up for the PS3, and from what I've seen/read online, it doesn't look too bad. And the fact its under $20 puts it well within my budget.

I'm enjoying it, I don't play a lot of RPG's so I can't really compare it to another one.

Combat is turn based and on a grid system, so you move and attack with each member of your party, the the enemies do likewise. As well as the other human characters there are "Golems" which are creatures you can create or obtain then use in battle. Also everyone has a type (Fire, Water, Earth etc) so you have all the usual Water>Fire stuff.

I think I'm about 15 hours in and it's been good so far, but like I said I don't play a lot of RPG's. I see your getting the PS3 version which is a good call as I believe it has some extra stuff. I'd reccomend it for $20 or less.

How is the new PSP Hot Shots? I get an itch to play a video golf game every now and then and I should probably just own one for when the itch arises.
That is the last time I let you sketch me! You said you wouldn't put it on the internet!
I'm sorry. But you were so hot, I had to share tha pic withe everyone. Actually, the face reminds me of GT Onizuka.

That was the first game I bought on my PS3. It is a good one. It gets a lot of flak, but it isn't terrible. Not the greatest, but not a bad game. It is great for sub-$20.

Cool. Thanks for the Enchanted Arms info. There must have been a recent PS3 reprint or something, cause just about every electronics store around here has a lot of these. Best Buy had at least 20+ the other day, and FYE had about 10 or so. Everywhere I went this weekend I couldn't visit the video game section without seeing several copies.

So did anyone get SF2THD Remix beta before they took it off?

SF2THD Remix Beta, *also includes full game of Commando 3.

lol.

there's a campaign mode in halo 3? no way!

MGS4 is kinda falling apart in the end. There are SO many awesome sequences that are just not developed. The game feels very shallow in so many ways. I'm consistently dissapointed because I'll be fully enjoying myself, saying wow, this part of the game is so much fun, then it's over and I'm watching more pretentious BS cutscenes instead of enjoying the game..

It's still good, but it just needs a Substance version with tons of extra non-story missions, because the story really gets in the way of me enjoying this game. I really want to see Kojima productions explore the settings and scenarios they've spent so much time making, and put some depth into them.

The World Ends With You is really freaking good. I played a little while nursing the hangover from camperfest this weekend, and I'm really impressed so far, despite the setting and the nomura characters. I expected a bunch of japanophile stuff but it's pretty decent about that so far.
Heavenly Sword, epic?

Really?
Sure the game play wasn't very good, (since it was like GOW) but the story really immersed me. So IMO I consider it pretty epic, just because I thought the story was great along with the graphics, and music.

that first couple of seconds of the scene reminded me of Gundam W when Hero went berserk with the Epyon and took out the all the Leo suits around him *gets ugly taste in mouth* blah!

cant wait till Gundam 00 comes statside so i can watch it again! And cant wait for season 2!

also,
Raiden holding back an aircraft carrier by himself was stupid. No questions about it. Stupid.

You. Suck.

that whole part was such a letdown compared to what came before it. I don't see how anyone could call that anything but dumb.

My main problem with that game was you couldn't heal outside of battle (or if you could I couldn't figure out how).

Parts of the game look very nice graphically though.
Heavenly Sword, epic?

I say the end of the game absolutely qualifies as being epic.

whats a good multiplayer game that 2 - 4 people can enjoy for 360. we have CoD4 on ps3, getting bored of Halo 3, my GoW disc cracked and dont feel like buying a new one since GoW2 is bound this year, and GTA4 is boring now. I was thinking Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition. I asked Chac and he says its a improvement from the first one, but is it a good game overall? or does anyone got any recommendation for multiplayer games?

I was about to ask how far you'd got till I read you'd finished it.

You can use the Gods.......... items to heal VP, HP and EP outside of battles I believe. They're available in the shop after you come back from
the frozen city
.

The multiplayer on Lost Planet Colonies Edition is awesome (IMO) much improved over the first one. I was playing it a lot this weekend, the single-player campaign is pretty good to (I played through that on the original release)

I see you may have a hard time separating reality from disbelief? I can see why you would not like that part, but ever since MGS1 stuff like that has been happening so it's totally plausable within the universe.
