Jim Duggan's wrestling topic
Wow, a bunch of cuts even after the first few cuts. The Dudley Boys being cuts was kind of a surprise due to how popular they are, but it's not a surprise since they haven't been on at all with the exception of the ECW PPV. I liked Charlie Haas and Jackie when he teamed up with Rico, which made for some funny matches. Kenzo was very good as the Japanese guy that wanted to become accepted as an American, but I didn't really like his wrestling and now that Cena's the WWE champ on RAW he didn't really have much else left. I'm hoping they get rid of these stupid wrestlers like Chris Masters, Tyson Tomko, and they already got rid of Matt Morgan. Steven Richards should be gone along with Simon Dean and Val Venis.

What's the whole list of cuts so far? I've only seen pieces from the last few pages and I'd like to see how the list stacks up as a whole.
Blasphemy spews forth from thee. No way should Steven Richards get released.

What the fuck has this man done that he deserves to stick around when he's done nothing in years? The last significant thing I remember him doing was the whole Right to Censor faction angle that took place years ago. The only things he does now is be that first or second guy thrown over the ropes in a 30 man rumble or the guy that gets the shit kicked out of him by the new rising star. Please tell me what he's done lately to deserve to stick around without any solid work. Is this man kicking ass on Heat or the other minor league WWE shows? Hell, Sargent Slaughter gets more airtime on RAW than he has in the past few months.

Steven Richards, just like Val Venis, and just like a certain Mr. Ric Flair, have the ability to make their opponent look like a million bucks. Why get rid of people like that?
Sable's only 37? Fooled me...

I wonder what she's going to do now. She's a dried-up old gold-digger and there's no where to go for her.
Ahh, yes...Sable...here's your membership card...

Ok, so far, here's the list of released talent:

Jackie Gayda
Maven
Charlie Hass
Hiroko
Kenzo Suzuki
Dudley Boys
Spike Dudley
Joy Giovanni
Marty Janetty(Arrested)
Mordecai
Billy Kidman
Shannon Moore
Dawn Marie
Mark Jindrak
Akio
Gangrel
Matt Morgan

And Brock Lesnar is resigning.
janetty arrested???
Yeah, Marty was arrested for getting into a dispute with his "partner," whatever that means.

Looks like Charlie Haas and Miss Jackie are still going to stay in the wrestling biz:

Charlie Haas & Jackie Gayda Comment On WWE Release
Date Added: July 06, 2005
Story By: Matthew Boone
Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda released the following statement on their respective websites this evening: "Charlie and Jackie would like to thank all of the fans who have supported them over the years. Even though they are no longer wrestling with WWE any longer they will still be very involved with wrestling, whether it be overseas, ROH or independents."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I was wondering. Has anyone seen the new documentary "101 Reasons Not to Be a Pro Wrestler" or the trailers for it? I'm probably going to see it within the next few days. Supposedly, it's the best doc since Beyond the Mat. Also, it has footage of New Jack wrestling a 72 year old man, and then New Jack starts beating the shit out of the man with barbed wire bats, chairs, etc.

Might be worth seeing just for New Jack and his crazy ass.

Credit Rajah.com:

This has not been a good month for Marty Jannetty. After making his first appearance in WWE in close to a decade back in March (reuniting The Rockers with Shawn Michaelshttp://www.rajah.com/base/2005/3584# on RAW and a great match with Kurt Angle on SmackDown!), Jannetty was signed to a WWE contract. There were hopes that aside from his still-sharp in-ring skills, Jannetty could help groom younger talent. All that came to a screeching halt this month.

Chris Jericho made a Marty Jannetty reference on RAW last week, telling Shawn Michaels that his former tag team partner was probably in jail. There had been reports that Marty was arrested recently for some sort of a domestic disturbance.

New information has come out regarding his latest brush with the law. Jannetty, a born again Christian, was arrested on June 11th, 2005 for his third DUI (driving under the influence) offense - a felony. He was also driving without a license. The Florida Department of Corrections website has posted Jannetty’s profile as well as his mugshot.

His third DUI conviction is believed to be the main reason behind him being one of the the 19 superstars released from WWE this week.

lol, thanks for summing up what the rest of us have been talking about for the past five pages ;)

I mean, really, you look at that list of "wrestlers" and who are you going to miss? Nobody. If this was the mid 80's that list would have names such as "Conquistador #1 and Barry O."

I'll agree with you there. Only people I'd miss are the Dudleys.

Bubba and d-von were fags anyway, I personally, am glad to see those fucking fruits go, I hope they both have a great time packing each others asses on the way out, those couple of bitches...

... needles to say the fruitley boys will never get thier own topic, as they're barely enough worth mentioning let alone their own topic ;)

Why the hatred for the Dudleys, my equine friend?

I think ZL is really drunk. He AIM'd me some interseting thoughts and kept calling me a "hustler" and that I shoud "Start my own chain of restaurants"
uhm it's a little thing called sarcasm. was i the only one that picked up on it?
Still don't change the fact he called me a hustler.

you should!

er... no comment

and I don't like the Dudleys because I actually met them asked them something about Spike Dudley (this was when he was rumored to be coming to WWE) and Bubba's only response was "he's dead" and then he looked at me like I was a horse or something. I didn't understand what his problem was, since the two of them had just posed with a group of cheerleaders... male cheerleaders, so you do the math.

Other wrestlers I don't care for = Test, and the only guy I didn't want to go up and talk to was Albert, because his entire face was pierced and it was just creepy as hell. If you saw the entire WWE in a bar, the last guy you'd fuck with would be the Big Show, the second to last would be Albert.

I think the only one I'll miss on that list is Haas. But that may just be because I'm biased from back when he was with Shelton as WGTT.

WTF is with wrestlers dumping their wife/girlfriend and coming back to WWE? The King did it when he basically walked out with The Kat back in '01(to return later that year). Austin walked out in '02 with Debra, went through some trouble with her, then returned the following year. And now Lesnar dumped Sable and he returning.

As for the cuts, Spike Dudley nailed it, WWE is a sinking ship right now with no real competition(TNA really doesn't count right now since they only have their monthly PPVs on TV). WWE is basically giving TNA & the indie promoters some talent that people will recognize.

Kat dumped King.

I believe Kat was going to be fired. King stood up and said, "If your her her then I'll leave too." Vince said, "I'm sorry then." After King stood up for his woman she left him and he came crawling back to WWE.

From what I have read, Sable left Brock because he was running out of money.

All these women are money grabbing "you-know-whats" and the guys are better off without them.

I don't know why, but I find it funny, looking at this card for some random Legends of Wrestling event happening sometime soon near where I live:

Rick Steiner vs. The Raven
Billy Gunn vs. A-Train
Disco Inferno vs. Doink the Clown
Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. King Kong Bundy
Persephone vs. Lovely Lacey in a special girl match
A battle royal with all of the above
An appearance by George "The Animal" Steele

Is it bad I wanna go just to laugh at the Disco Inferno vs Doink match?

And a great time it was when he was gone. JR/Heyman was a million times better than JR/Lawler. Good thing Don West is around, or King would seem that much worse.

Well that's your opinion... I thought Heyman was one of (if not THE) worst WWE announcer ever. He almost rivals the bunch over at WCW for futility.

Of course it's my opinion, I'm the one who said it.

Heyman and JR legit didn't like each other, so it made for good face announcer/heel announcer bickering, plus the fact that Heyman can shut up about women long enough to give us a neat fact, like a color commentator is supposed to do.

Ross and Lawler used to play a very good babyface/play-by-play man and heel/color commentator, respectively. Ever since Lawler stopped trying to see such a heel (does he even cheer for the bad guys anymore?), and his incessant perversion seeping through my television repulse me. In addition, Ross is just so over the top with his screaming that he reminds me of an infomercial pitchman. When was the last time he mentioned a wrestling move or hold that you didn't know? fuck the BOTH of them.

Heenan and Monsoon.

Joey Styles *may* make the top five, only because few people can announce by themselves. Other than that, the reason that Styles' overhyping was better than Ross's is because shit actually happened in ECW. When you've suffered through 3 years worth of milquetoast Raws, every lovin' one of them ending with 'BAH GAWD!!! BAH GWAD! SLOBBERKNOCKER!!! BUSINESS IF ABOUT TO PACK UP!11!! KING!!! THA STUN CLOD STONER!!! BAH GAWD!!! GOODNIGHT ARVYBODY!,' you just become completely desensitized to it. It's totally fucking bland.

Heyman made Rhyno matter more than ANYONE in the WWE, including Rhyno himself. That should count for something. There was also some sort of peculiar affinity he had for Albert since they are both Jewish. Kosher or not, he was a fucking awful wrestler and deserved no verbal push from Heyman.

Will there EVER be another Heenan and Monsoon?

I wish TNA'd let Scott D'Amore try out his hand at color commentating and fire that screaming shithead Don West. Tenay and D'Amore could probably be pretty awesome.

I remember back before the King got breast-obsessed, around the time Debra showed up maybe? He was actually a decent heel announcer. His feud with Randy Savage was great. Since then he's pretty much just good for a laugh from time to time. I think putting Coach at the table was a good move, so Raw finally has an actual heel announcer again, even if it is Coach.

Heyman's problem is he's an asshole; that fact aside, if he'd just pull his head out of his own ass and realize that he's not the God of wrestling, that everything doesn't have to be a shoot, that he doesn't have to get so emotional over everything (especially anything ECW related) if he could do that for just 5 seconds, maybe, then just maybe I could tolerate him, but he can't and in my eyes he remains a self-absorbed douchebag that's got a chip on his shoulder because he couldn't run with WCW and WWF/E.

You know...just, man...dammit. I can't refute any of what you've just said about Heyman. As they say, 'true dat'

Yes, looks like it's all but confirmed that Lesnar will be returning to Smackdown. The one guy I want to see him beat the hell out of is supposedly the guy he's going to feud with when he returns, Batista.

Oh and supposedly they're going to be cut 2-4 more superstars between today & tomorrow. At this rate, superstars will be doing double duty matches for each of the brands two shows.

Notice that they've only cut the divas on Smackdown, while Raw is going to be hiring another one in about a month & 1/2(when the diva search ends)?

actually kat quit because they were going to put her in the Right to censor and she didnt want anything to do with it. So king quit with her

That whole Kat thing still gets me to this day... why/how Lawler could become so obsessed with her, when there's undoubtedly hundreds of girls just like her that he could have is beyond me. Fortunately he finally figured it out, otherwise we'd probably have Michael Cole and JR or something along those lines these days.

:whistle2:k Of course Tazz and Heyman would be interesting.

Cole used to suck pretty bad, but he's gotten better. Best WWE play-by-play man currently is Josh Matthews, though. Seriously, watch Velocity once in awhile. That kid knows his stuff. He actually uses the wrestlers' names for moves, instead of just calling everything an "impaler" or "modified slam" like JR does.

IIRC, Kat cheated on King and someone posted a picture of her sucking some guy off on King's forums and it was confirmed to be her by King and the post was deleted quickly.. you could probably find it fairly easily with a search on google

Honestly, only an internet fan would have *any* idea why the bWo came out to feud with JBL. They did an absolutely *horrible* job getting across why bWo is pissed (and "JBL hates ECW" isn't enough of an excuse).

Granted, I'm watching it on tivo, and I'm only at the Benoit/Booker match, so perhaps they show the ECW brawl to help explain why the hell what's happening is happening.
do u think hulk will become a active wrestle because the things are looking he is
Word is he will hang around until Summerslam to have a big match with HBK. After that I wouldn't expect him to be around as often as you see now. He's mainly trying to pimp out his new show.

JBL's wrestling is downright fucking dainty against the Blue Meanie. Perhaps he did get in trouble, because his punches look like complete shit.
Well, now I can see why they put the parental discretion due to the London bombings on the screen.
