Jushin "Thunder" Liger's wrestling topic

Damn, that's one crazy ending. Glad that WWE finally found a way to get the belt off Cena and for Edge to somehow use his MITB contract.

WHAA??

"Edge chose New Year's Revolution to cash in his "Money in the Bank" championship match. After an exhausted John Cena last defeated Carlito in the Elimination Chamber, Edge defeated Cena for the WWE Championship."

Yea, I cant believe that. It was out of nowhere.

I think I'll give Edge's title reign a month, tops. He'll either drop it tomorrow night or at Royal Rumble (God, I hope I'm right).

Wow, this was actually a pretty good PPV. The EC match was solid, and the end of the show was great. Say what you want about Edge, but I don't think anybody wanted Cena to leave with the belt tonight.

God, as horribly booked as this PPV was, I now wish I would have parted with my $35 to see one of my all time favorites win his first WWE Championship. I suggested the idea, but I didn't expect them to go through with it. Best moment of 2006 by far.

*clutches autographed copy of Edge's book and the photo he also signed at E3 and weeps tears of joy*

VIVA EDGE!

I'm kicking myself in the ass for not ordering the PPV. I've never marked out so much in my life.

fuck EDGE

Hey, everyone. I'm back from my little hiatus. Sorry for being away, but hopefully I'll be able to spend more time on here if I improve.

Edge won the title, huh? Interesting. Hopefully, we won't get a Cena/Triple H wins the Royal Rumble and takes the belt at WrestleMania from Edge scenario on our hands. That would suck if it was that predictable.

EDIT:
Cool picture, Matt. I remember you showing it a while back, along with a picture of you and Stacy. What I don't remember is you looking like you got a swollen eye in a drunken streetfight. ;)

LOL, Edge said to me, "Has anyone ever told you that you bear a striking resemblence to Bud Bundy?" and I was in mid-laugh when that picture was snapped.

That's right. Now I remember you telling me about that. Well, if they ever do a Married with Children remake, you're the #1 candidate.

Here's some great Liger matches for you all:

Yeah, I thought I had posted that info here before.

Edge's first interview as champ is upon WWE.com, and he promises live hot sex in the ring with Lita on Raw. Interesting.

Yes now we get to see lita's big fake rack.

I'm just happy they took the title off Cena, he just wasn't interesting to me. Was Angle eliminated first? I wonder what they'll do with him now.

edit: just read Scorch's post and now I wonder if Cena will get the belt back tomorrow.

Oh.. Guyver? Match ending of Cena/Edge with celebration? Please?
edit: just read Scorch's post and now I wonder if Cena will get the belt back tomorrow.
Don't they say that the former champ has the right to call for a rematch at any point? Cena will demand a rematch tomorrow night, kick the shit out of Edge and get the title back, then we'll be subjected to 9 more months of Edge whining.

Anyone have good reason for the fans booing cena. I don't like or hate him. But ever time I go check wrestling news they just say that he is getting booed, and people chanting cena sucks.

He's being shoved down the fans throats, I guess. Vince is high on him, so he won't be without the belt for long.

WWE did an excellent swerve with the Edge thing, though.

Paul Heyman signed a short-term contract extension so he can continue to book OVW television for at least a little bit more. His problems with Stephanie McMahon make it difficult for him to be brought back to the WWE creative team. It would have to take Stephanie to leave her position for Heyman to return to the creative team at this point, which is not happening.

I'm sure Heyman's very happy, then, since Stephanie is pregnant.

Yeah, even though the fans hate Cena, he still sells a shitload of merchandise. Vince doesn't want to kill his cash cow.

Heyman has a temporary deal, so I wonder if they'll sign him to a regular deal when Steph takes leave. Come to think of it... how far along is she? Anyone heard about that?

That also makes me wonder if Triple H will take time off around the time of his child's birth. I know that most wrestlers are used to missing their kids being born and growing up, but Trips is the boss's son-in-law...

I see, I see no one ever really said they liked cena however he goes and becomes one of the biggest stars.

Could it be that the people booing are wiggers and they don't like seeing themselves for what they are. I joke I joke. :D

King of the Ring '98: Kane wins the title off of Austin, Austin gets the title back the next night on RAW. This is a preview of the deja vu I'm going to have tomorrow night. Only difference is, Kane deserved the title.
Yeah, even though the fans hate Cena, he still sells a shitload of merchandise. Vince doesn't want to kill his cash cow.
Exactly, and it's not like the 24 hour champ angle hasn't been done before. Bret Hart won the strap against Austin, Vader and Undertaker. He lost the belt the next night to Sid on Raw. Sid held onto the strap for a month until Undertaker won it from him at Wrestlemania 13.

I also find it interesting that Edge is on the front page as the champ, videos are posted, it's in the Raw section.. yet Cena is still listed as champ on the superstars page.

//edit: Another 24 hour title example above.

*sigh* if Edge comes out with that spinny belt around his waist then we'll know that'll happen for sure.

Edge is far worse than Cena... the only way this ends good is if Hardy wins the rumble and takes the title from Edge at wrestlemania, instead this seems to be a way for Vince to let Cena win the royal rumble as Orton seems to be getting pushed back down the card and HHH could be taking time off.

My only hope is that the loser of the whole U.S. title feud will go on to either take the strap off Batista (if he's really that injured) or go on to win the Rumble. I'm assuming that Cena will win back the title tomorrow night (or at latest the Royal Rumble) leaving dick for RAW in the Rumble. I could only realistically see Michaels or Kane from RAW winning the Rumble.

Edit: and I can't believe they're alluding to a Booker T/Orlando Jordan feud. OJ is the Snitsky of Smackdown.

My thoughts on the matter...
Not much info but Batista did injure himself

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/batistainjury
Great, he tore his lat.. and now he injured his triceps! I don't care if SmackDown! is hurting or not; give this guy some time off to heal. Although, Batista's probably going to try and work through it... he's probably thinking, "I'm 40 and this could be my last shot in the wrestling biz."

The hell is that awful song on those YTMNDs? I didn't like emo when the punk rock kids were getting into it 8 years ago, but it never sounded like that shit. Elton John could probably take that band single-handedly, whoever it is.

Batista pulled a tricep? Get the Mystery Machine over to WWE headquarters, stat! They'll pull the mask off of Batista to reveal Kevin Nash lurking underneath! "If it wasn't for you meddling kids, I would have had the gold FOREVER, see!"

I'm not totally sold on Edge/Cena. For starters, I don't like the work of either, and a match between them will not sell me a PPV; further, they need to address Cena's tweener status by either working to change it for the better, or turn him heel. Someone reviled by half the crowd fighting as the "good guy" won't sell PPVs, IMO. OTOH, Cena needed to drop the belt, and although it's disheartening that the WWE is taking such desperate measures to make the fans boo for someone they're cheering (Kurt Angle cut a promo last night saying that he hopes the US loses the war in Iraq; that's fucking appalling), Edge winning is a surprise, a good storyline arc, and it's nice that WWE is acknowledging Cena's dwindling popularity. A person not announced in the title match leaving with the title simply reeks of Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania IX, however.

If you find that you absolutely hate Raw tonight, may I recommend "Rollergirls" on at 10PM on A&E? I've seen one episode, but not only are the girls totally hot (if you like genuine, whiskey-soaked violence), but it's more of a documentary-style show than a "reality" show. I'm looking forward to it tonight, and now that MNF is off the air for now (and football is over for this Bengals fan), some of you notorious channel-flippers should try to watch this. Personally, I'm cheering for "Blanche Davidian."

i could of swear when edge won that money in the bank it allowed him to have a title shot anytime within a year of winning it..... must be thinking something else cause it seems that match was longer then a year ago ...

edge world champ L OL what a laugh ,,, maybe IC champ or Us champ but world champ no freaking way

He's WWE Champ, not World Champ. ;)

And I literally have not been able to sleep due to being so excited over Edge winning, although a few other things have contributed.

I'm so thrilled to have a fighting champ.

I mean, after all, I didn't want to see wrestling on tonight's raw. I want to see fucking in the ring.

I was also dumb enough to think we'd get Hot Lesbian Action on a cable show.

Durrrr.

Of course we won't get sex... But really, as much as I like Edge and think Lita's very hot, I don't want to see them go at it on live TV.

Saucy Jack's rasslin' news returns!

Brought to you by AT & Love, Inc.

Now, on to the news:

pwstourbus0hp.jpg

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H's new tour bus.

The bus cost over 2 million dollars and was custom-made to fit whatever Triple H and Stephanie wanted. The bus features a built-in bar, a living room type setting, a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and anything else you'd ever need. It's basically a small mansion inside a bus. While other wrestlers arrive in cars in the back parking lot and are checked in as they arrive, Triple H and Stephanie's bus was parked outside the front of the arena with several other WWE travel buses. The two were never seen entering the arena as they walked in a separate entrance.

The couple will be traveling in the bus through Stephanie McMahon's pregnancy and beyond. Triple H had recently taken some time off over the Summer for 'personal issues' and that is when the bus was purchased.

anyone know why they changed the champs on the tv shows.... you would think Monday night had bigger ratings then Friday night.... I would rather see batista then Cena or edge
