Wow 4 words that would have made the whole Clark at the planet plausible, "you sould thank Perry" but no we can't have that. And I think that's what makes me so mad about this show that you see parts where about 3 mins of thought would had made a more coherent series.
And can't they write one

ing episode without a meator freak, can't they save some freaking money SFX and do a character driven story. They couldn't even have Pete come back he had to have a power that he used once and Lex even wanted him for a whole different reason.
I think this show went down hill when Christpher Reeve died, I think they had alot more to do with him helping Clark.
I love this show for some reason but here's to next Thursday turning a coner.
Well to be fair here Pete was a throw back to the ridiculous early days when damn near anything gave someone a power, I remember the kryptonite milkshake fondly  Personally I feel the show never really went down or up in quality until season 6, where it suddenly became a much better show. Season 3's cave episodes were threatening to derail the entire thing for me but I still stuck with it. Season 7 though, man what a trainwreck that was, as fair as i'm concerned the show jumped the shark during that season, so Clark getting a job at a major newspaper with no real experience makes perfect sense in this new bizarro world.
A friend and I were discussing something similar about the lack of character driven episodes , just about every meteor freak outside the main crew were straight up evil, hardcore irredeemable evil. Show needed just a few every so often that Clark could just mess around with, have a coke, go blow some stuff up in the middle of nowhere just for kicks. the closest the show came was when Clark got a girlfriend who could teleport, I remember that two parter far more then the few dozen that came before it because it was different.
