LOST SEASON 2 Topic board

The Hanso Foundation commercial is the start of some huge summer online event that is going to happen. There's been a COMPLETE revamp of the hanso website:

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

There you can find the commercial that aired, more info about Alvar Hanso, and of the projects of the Hanso Foundation. Can you say mental illness institutes? Hmm.... Electro Magnetic Research....

It's a VERY interesting site for those who want to find out more about what's going on in the Hanso Foundation.

BTW, Incredible freaking episode. Just wow. Drunk driving is definitely not good.
Apparently this link is hidden in the Hanso Foundation website. I have no idea what the point of it is however ..

www.bigspaceship1.com
That is one of a ton of links people have noticed since the old website launched. No clue yet what they mean, why they were registered, or what their purpose is though.

i found last night show to be VERY BORING. you knew how the ending was going to happen before it even happened.

bleh bleh bleh.

i give last night show a 2 cause it stank like a turd : )

only what 2-3 more till the cliffhanger. seems this season will end on a weak note.

i wonder if that dude who was in the bunker is still running around the jungle or if he just went to another bunker

www.bigspaceship1.com

all i get when i click on that link is

TIME GOD

Run for your lives DR WHO Is on the island LOL

jj abrams hasn't been involved with the show at all this season. He has been busy filming/editing and now promoting mission impossible 3. Like alias, he had no imput into lost this past season. It is possible he will back next season for lost, but he is going to be doing a new star trek movie, and he is taking one of producers/directors/writters from the lost show. In an interview on tvguide, he commented that he would still be working on lost.

According to the 2 writters, anna lucia character was only signed for a year. They put out feelers in febuary 2005 for a latin female character that would be the leader of the back of the plane. Her agent called in on it, but said she will only do the part for one season and wants to have a kick ass story arc. According to them, they met with her, and decided to go for it. They claim that all along libby and anna were going down. They were not happy with the DUI on both of them, because they didn't want it to look like they both got the ax on the same night because of the dui.

a mix of info from my extra source, and from tv guide ...also the extra that I get the info from, when anna lucia was calling her mother last night from the airport saying she was coming home, he was walking in the aisle behind her heading towards the camera. He was wearing a blue shirt. On the island, he always has a red shirt on.

the season finale will have a large object in the water, no specifics on what it is, (maybe has something to do with the space ship stuff)

locke and mr ecko will come to blows

libby will have a funureal...but there has been speculation on tvguides website that due to the islands healing ability, characters may have the possiblity of coming back...look at abrams other work, alias, to see how characters never really die.

walt will be back

my own speculation about mike and the people he wants to attack. Maybe those other people aren't the ones in charge or even took his son. Maybe they are just like them, stuck on an island, sort of being told what to do by some stronger group. As he said he saw no boat, only saw 2 guns, and mostly women, children and older people. Or maybe he is with them now.

I'm going to put slidecage on my ignore list, congrats!

Anyways, I watched the last nights episode this morning and geeez... The writing of Lost is friggin' good, but if they keep this up much longer I think the plots are going to get weaker and weaker. Also, I really hope the series last show doesn't suck.
wonder how much walt got paid. hell that had to be a easy pay check. just in 2 shows
My girlfriend and I always joke about how the poor kid's not getting enough money for his college education :D

there are 2 reasons why walt isn't on the show much this season. First off, he is at the age of growth spurts, and since in the show timeline, they have been there only a couple months, they were very concerned with his growing a lot taller in the middle of shooting the show. The 2nd reason is he is on the island alone, his family didn't come with him. He was very homesick in the first season.

i dont think they are killing off libby i think she will live reasoning:
1) every girl who as died has been bad, shown they are reforming their ways, had sex with someone, then died
Liddy hasn't done any of those things that we know of.......
2) at one point in the preview for next week hurly says to michael 'at least nothing happened to you'(or something like that) which leads me to believe our boy in the hatch TOOK Libby with him so he wasnt empty handed going back to the others.

just an idea

oh and call the number from the commercials and go thru all the options its a trip
and also the first part of the the lost internet game OR how to keep the lost dorks busy during the summer and still interested in the show.
wonder how many more lock backstories till we find out how he ended up in the chair
wonder how many more [insert character name] backstories till we find out [insert corresponding unresolved plot point(s)]

Fixed. :D

This post isn't a rip on you sc, just pointing out how many previous issues are unknown/unresolved. Every time we find out 1 thing, 2 or more things we don't pop up. That's part of the show's appeal though. Right now they'd need a whole seasons worth of shows just to wrap up everything that's currently open.

but it seems they are giving more backstory on Lock then anyone else. Im just shocked they didnt tell how he ended up in that chair.

something makes me think the 2 guys he ripped the money off has something to do with it.

I feel pretty much the same about Locke.

Writing an episode has to be very challenging with all the backstories and interweaving plot points. We can't write about "X" because we haven't revealed "Y" because we're wating to show you "Z" first.

Their grand plot outline (assuming they have one) has got to include " The flowchart from hell"

I was really pissed when they didn't show it during the last flashback of his. I mean come on, the guy was stuck under round metal pegs and lost the use of his legs - there was a perfect parallel to work with.

I think what they've been establishing in all of his flashbacks this season and last season is that Locke is very gullible person. He's somebody who has had a real fucked up life and he's seen his arrival on the island as giving his life some purpose - perhaps an explanation as to why he has suffered so much. So, searching for this reason, he's become obsessed with figuring out the secrets of the island. In the process of it, Henry Gale has been able to manipulate him and, once again, convince him that he is special, has a purpose, and that Henry's people are the ones to guide Locke to his purpose. Look at how convinced Locke was in the last episode about Henry's "true" mission. We're getting constant flashbacks of Locke repeatedly going back to his dad because they correlate with him repeatedly getting suckered on the island by Henry Gale.

What will the result of all this be? Personally I think there's a small chance that Locke will leave and join the Others by the end of this season. Of course, this was my prediction before the big twist ending of the last episode so I'm not sure how that'll factor into it. Granted this is a longshot prediction but it's not entirely far-fetched.

i thought Locke was alwasys evil or would go to the evil side every since he found those WHITE AND BLACK stones way back in season 1

I guess I missed the Hanso ad. We TiVo'd this episode, and fast-forwarded through all the commericals.

Anyways,

Did Michael free Henry Gale from the hatch because he was ordered to do so by The Others? Has Michael been brainwashed by The Others to do their bidding, or is he trying to get his son back by giving them Henry Gale? It makes one wonder...

I just assumed it was part of a trade. And that the Others told Micheal he has to release Henry Gale to get Walt back. Of course they probably wont be doing that.

yeah i called it, Unless you know french theres not much new info to be had... all the doctors voice mails are in french.... i am out of le-luck

What do you think about on the website with joop the orangutan being 105 years old? They live to be about 40 so hes 3 times as old and still looks young...

maybe something to do with the polar bear in some way...

/shrug

actually that's one of the great things about Lost

you NEVER know for sure

there were many, many ways that episode could have gone

it was not even close to a foregone conclusion

i think the episode was great and that you are VERY BORING

i mean... i knew that you were going to post this before you ever posted it....

Spoiler (highlight to view)Add the tags "{spoiler} {/spoiler}" around your text only subsitute "{}" for "[]". Neat huh

Major thing i heard on an Radio ad today

"
" Libby isnt dead, or the other person took the body. I was driving around an ad came on for the show

3 people were shot and one is dead and the other is gone

So i guess that means libby isnt dead

"

Concerning slide cages radio listening

Yeah on the radio this morning they had the guy who wrote the book called "unlocking lost" or something of the sort. he said that libby does not die and she will hang onto life until if they know her pilot episode for the new series she is in is picked up or not, and if it doesget picked up, then she dies.

that could be a tv show in itself LOL

Ok, so let me be the first to ask .. who has (or knows where to find) the screen captures from Eko's dream at the beginning of the show?

Dammit did anyone see the commercial for the Hanso foundation?
It said to go to sublymonal.com or something expect I couldnt follow due to my terrible spelling.

Dare I say best episode yet? And allow me to point out the following ...

A) John and Eko havent gotten back from the central hatch yet which means they'll probably have to camp over night .. which may allow Eko's vision of taking an axe to the chest by the camp fire come true.

B) Eko was meant to go with John to help him find his way. What "way" did John lose? In my opinion, he lost the feeling that the island was a special/mystical place with a deeper purpose than he could imagine. How or why he has to be shown otherwise I dont know.

C) In the previews for next week's episode they show the leader of The Others without his costume on. If you take notice he has a haircut, he's clean shaven, he's wearing modern/clean clothes, etc.

Heir Apparent?

The site has 6 windows and you click them using the numbers and the code "Heir Apparent" appears - that's as far as I got.

Is it just me or, for an island in the middle of nowhere, do they have a surprising amount of innercity problems? Drugs, gangs, guns...

what i dont get is everyone is geting hurt yet noone is getting infection.

and wasnt the pearl listed as a side room. Why would it be the major ? on the map. i dont think they found the real ?

and the preview when everyone is looking and they go something like

OH MY GOD

i wonder if they found something in the water OR if one of the dead people come back to life. Remember the back story where that girl came back from the dead a day later.

ALSO way back in season one. when lock was talking to the women on the phone . wasnt her name HELEN and wasnt that person who left him the same name. I wonder if this whole thing is just something that lock made up in his mind
what i dont get is everyone is geting hurt yet noone is getting infection.

a) They have tons of medication/ointments from people's luggage

b) And no the pearl wasnt on Locke's map as a side room. The side rooms were The Swan, The Flame, The Staff, The Arrow, and C4/C3. The Swan is the hatch where the main survivors are.

What I want to know is:

Where the heck does the tube system end up? In the orientation video, the Asian dude says that the tubes end up going to "us" from the Pearl station...

Anybody else extremely bummed about Ecko's realization that the numbers are important after all? This really annoyed me because I thought we were finally going to get rid of the damn numbers drama (OMG the time is running out! Type the numbers! Ahhhh!). I really don't see the writers carrying it over for a whole nother season considering that they've been in this season since the very beginning.

I didnt understand that whole scene cause I thought the orientation film established quite well that the numbers are worthless. The people inputting the numbers "think" that job is important and the people at the pearl station are suppose to observer their behavior/attitude towards completing the task of pressing the button.

It seems like the creator's of the film don't want people in the hatches to know the reasons behind what the other hatches are doing. That could explain why they made it sound as if the button is meaningless.

That printout was a record of how many successful times the subjects entered the numbers, right? Maybe Eko believes the numbers and entering them repeatedly is important because it will keep everyone from going mad. At least they feel like they have a task that needs to be done, and it would keep them from getting bored.

or maybe entering the numbers is important but the test subjects at the Pearl are led to believe it's not because they themselves are being observed? We did see a camera in the Pearl...

This stupid show has X-Files written all over it and I swore I'd never invest in another show that was going to ask 10 new questions a week and never answer any of them completely.

So you think that
there are multiple experiments going on at the same time, like 1 in each station?

Yup. I also think that there is more than one group of "others" on the island.

I just hope there is more to Michael's actions than trying to rally the troops behind him, as they were already going to get the guns to do so. Hopefully the others made him do it to keep Walt alive or something like that.

And the Sprite tie-in? Weeeaaaakk.
