Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
Fun facts I might never have realized without XFN:

The Chargers have played the most difficult schedule in the league (SOS .563). A lot of this has to do with playing in the Division of Death. The 34 wins between the 4 teams of the AFC West are more than any other division. The Chargers are in last place at 6-6-1, the last place team with the next closest record is Dallas at 4-9.

In other words: I hate this division. :D
lol bv, i'm right there behind you with a SOS of .560.. next up is the jags. with .540...just like yours....my records show it, too;)

The Eagles are pretty much out of the playoff picture after losing a must-win game to the Redskins. Philly fell behind 24-0, but crawled back to lose 31-28.

Worst of all, DeSean Jackson is out three weeks with an abdominal tear.

Regarding Packers/Redkins: Sorry bvharris, but I didn't know you were in the GM position at the time or else I would have messaged you. Ubernes knew what was up, though. I had told him and Kayholiday I had to leave around 8 Eastern yesterday to go to a hockey game, so I'd have to start any Madden game by 7 EST. Since I was getting ready to go, I posted in here and told Kayholiday I had done so.

I don't know what the deal was. We had 4 separate games drop, but the game never froze or crashed for me, and I was left still in the game with the "connection lost" message on screen after each drop. It has to be a server issue and/or some sort of incompatibility, I guess. The strange thing is that we never even had any lag during the games.

It sucks that we didn't get to finish, but I guess the loss does help my draft positioning. :whistle2:\

Should I go ahead and play the CPU in the jags vs titans game? I have a record of 3-10 and they have a record of 4-9 so I dont think it would hurt anything. IF a sub is needed\wanted thats fine too.

Yeah, go ahead. At this point in the season no reason holding up for a sub in that game. You should consider tanking for the pick though, haha

LOL I thought about it!
Ravens 35
Rams 14
THe 21 point spread does not indicate the actual mammoth ass whuppin that this game was. The Ravens took pity on the Rams allowing two long passes to avoid a shut out and running it down the Rams throats to waste time.

If you need to contact the Bears, I'd go the Xbox Live route. Communication was smooth that way.

Also since we're nearing the end of the year, I'd love to hear everyone's picks for game of the year.

Came down to Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Alan Wake for me.
(Still haven't finished Fable 3/Fallout New Vegas)

Of those three, I picked Alan Wake. I loved the story and the repetitive gameplay didn't bother me too much. Red Dead is an honorable mention.

Me2 definitely. Rdr was a close runner up.
Edit: not so close actually. I haven't played fallout yet but that will probably be up there with Me2. (Fallout 3 is my favorite game of all time.)

Dragon Quest IX for me. After that I'd probably have to go with Red Dead Redemption, with Enslaved: Odyssey to the West a close third.

Shamefully, ME2 is still in my backlog, and I've yet to pick up AC:B (though I have reason to believe I'll probably be getting it for Christmas). Alan Wake and Fallout: NV are also up there.

I skipped ME1/2 so I picked up those two at gamestop yesterday at the b2g1 free sale. I grabbed bioshock2 for my third game.

So for now of games I've played Alan Wake game of the year no doubt, we'll see if that changes when I get through ME1/2.

From what I've played, you'll feel right at home with New Vegas.

Glad to see Alan Wake on those lists.

Man I have so many games in my backlog right now...a lot of them potential Games of the Year: Mass Effect 2 (unopened...got it at release date), Assassins Creed Brotherhood (unopened...haven't beaten the 2nd one yet), Fable 3 (unopened), Dead Rising 2 (I rented it and put some decent time into it, but my new copy is unopened)...those are off the top of my head, I might be missing a couple.

I have the Blockbuster pass thing where you can go in and pick any movie or game and keep it as long as you want, then exchange it at any time...so if there's any game I'm even remotely interested in, I just rent it and beat it in a couple days unless it ends up sucking that much (hence the relatively high gamerscore). Splatterhouse was my most recent rental, that game was ridiculously frustrating but I got through it...

How much is that pass program? I need to invest in renting because my backlog is becoming ridiculous.

Also, Mass Effect 3 Holiday 2011!!!

I've cleared out most of my backlog, though I still have things like Gears of Wars 2 and RE5 sitting there. Whoops. ME2 is my clear GOY, though I haven't played Wake, hate the GTA engine so won't touch RDR and I'm 2-3 hours into New Vegas and I hate it and I'm not sure I'll pick it up again. Fallout 3 sort of burned me out, so when I booted NV up and got into it, it felt like all the hard work/time I put into 3 was for naught. Like this was just the same crap all over again. I also hate that engine as well. Time for an upgrade, Fallout!

I'm patiently awaiting Dragon Age 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 3. Those are probably the two games I'm most excited for in the early part of next year and actually the most excited I've been about a new release in a while.

Probably ME2 for me, although Alan Wake was excellent in its own right. I'd actually have to think hard about games I've played this year....GoW3 was good but not GREAT, and little indie titles like Super Meat Boy and VVVVVV had awesome moments themselves. (VVVVVV's music alone is simply awesome)

Uber hyped for ME3

Kris Jenkins Lost For Season
Add Kris Jenkins to the list of Jets players lost for the remainder of the season. The star nose tackle broke his collarbone on one of the last offensive plays by the Miami Dolphins this week. He joins CB Kyle Wilson on the IR. Both are expected to be ready for training camp, although Jenkins has not committed to returning for another year, his 10th.

Coach Rex Ryan has not officially commented on whether or not he'll sit his starters for the remaining two games leading up to the playoffs.

(And yes, I'm hyped for ME3. Probably the most, but it's a later release.)

edit: I'm going to pick up a CB. I think I'll leave the DT position alone for now. I'm not 100% sure if I understand my own FA rule though :) haha. I believe it's so that I can pick up a player lower than the replacement. My replacement for Wilson is Lowery who is 78. So I was going to pick up Corey Ivy, OVR 67. I dunno if I'll even slot him above Coleman who is 65 since he just got a pick for me vs the Phins, but I could probably us the depth.

The rule we've been applying is that the players has to be rated lower than the lowest player you have at that position.

Well I don't know if you wanted to make your Free Agent rule the same as BV's Free Agent rule in the other league, but I think he set it up so that the free agent you pick up has to be lower than your LOWEST player at that position. So I don't think you would be able to pick up Ivy at OVR 67 if you have a player who is rated 65 OVR. You might have to confirm it with BV, but I'm PRETTY sure that's what he said. But then again...this is YOUR league so you can implement whatever rule you want.

Darn it...beat me to it. Just go to sleep!!! I'm supposed to be the only one awake to answer questions at this hour...

And regarding the Panthers/Falcons game for this week: We seem to be playing a lot of PM-tag...I PM'ed him first asking when he wanted to play; then he PM'ed me while I was napping today asking if I could play earlier tonight (during my nap...) or just wait until tomorrow; so I PM'ed him back saying I can play tomorrow preferably before 5:00 p.m. EST, so that's where we are at the moment. He hasn't responded yet but I think we should be able to get it in early tomorrow.

K, that's fine. I know I sort of outlined it and it went along on it's own. I have an A potential corner rated around 48 OVR so I guess I'm not picking up CB depth. :\

I'll update tomorrow with what DT I pick up. I might as well get depth somewhere. Look out for rookie Vargo! He's hitting the field these next couple weeks. I'll probably have to user control him since his coverage stats are so bad. Decent speed/accel/catch though.

edit: Nevermind. I'll just move some ends in. I couldn't find an end that I'd want to drop as the DT I was looking at wasn't any better than my worst end.

Lol a 48 OVR with A potential? Don't see too many of those...he should be pretty solid by our 8th or 9th season of the franchise.

I'm hoping for a big jump in the off season. If he hits the 60s and goes up in key stats I'll be happy. I have to groom someone to replace Revis one day, don't I?

Actually that rule originated in this league ;) (though I did come up with it).
I have a question I play the chiefs this week is sprice coming back or do I just play the computer?
Yeah he's coming back this week so you're playing him. Beat him so I can retake the division lead :)

I never wish for injury, but if I can advance this week in fantasy playoffs then I'll face the #1 seed who has both Rodgers and Jennings. Can Rodgers just fail his concussion tests for one week? :) Then he can have an MVP season the rest of the year.
Steelers vs. Browns is going down tonight after the Bears game

DA BEARS!
You mean the Patriots game I think. Frigid temperatures, snow, 50 mph winds. Gonna be a fun game.

Born and raised in Chicago! It's all about them bears

Skins botch the extra point that would have forced overtime. Unbelievable. The one time I want them to win (Since TB threatens a possible Giants wildcard)....

Anyone else watching the show McFadden is putting on? My goodness. Doesn't look good for the Raiders right now, but wow that guy is awesome.

It's the Redskins. Therefore it's absolutely 100% believable. :D

Panthers 30, Falcons 17
Despite the Falcons causing four fumbles and recovering three, the Panthers pull away in the second half due the arm of Jimmy Clausen. Michael Turner did however pass 1000 rushing yards for the year.

Serious question: Could any team in the NFL get within 3 scores of the Patriots the way they're playing right now? Maybe Atlanta? Maybe.

I'm on board with this since the Patriots are playing the Packers next week with the chance to clinch the division and a 1st round bye..

Bears-Chargers set for 11EST tonight (probably). If not then, tomorrow evening.
