I haven't touched it yet either. I plan on garnering at least 500 in the last 10 hours or so here.
Is anyone else in another bad bracket? This makes two in a row where the top scores have been ridiculous for me. Last time top 10 were all over 1100, and number 1 was over 1300. This time, I'm over 500, and I'm not even in the top 200. Top 10 are all over 900 at the moment, but with 9 hours to go, that will go up. I'm hoping to put up some more points tonight, but I don't know if I can make top 50.
When do you start the event? Like, how much time is remaining when you jump in? Typically the closer to the start of the event you jump in, the higher the top ranked total will be. I'm about to jump in right now, and my estimate on the top score in that bracket will be around 700.

I'm getting close to 3000 for that black hulk cover finally. And it seems like everyone in the house is sick. Playing time will be limited.
I waited until fairly late on the last one, and it was the hardest group I had been in. This one I started fairly early, and I am seeing some level 100+, but not nearly as many as the last round.
You don't just get matched up with people in your group. You get matched up against the whole world. You're just trying to score higher than the people in your group. Sounds like you need to lower your MMR.
By the way, does anyone else cycle through the matchups, see CStorm and MN Magneto and think, "Damn. This'll be an easy 40 points"? My little eyes light up like it's Christmas when I see a lot of points on that matchup.

Im in the same boat, but I started early and placed a tank team. Issue was no one is attacking my tank team & the ones that do I usually play a round with a good team & when they get attacked they win.
Im going to have to go back to my initial theory of playing when there is at most 24 hours left. Its going to be another 800-900 points and Im still in the top 25-50 event...
On a side note, after playing one of the lightning rounds with classic mags I think I found my rainbow team. Just changing things up trying new combinations but tell me what you guys think. Classic Magneto, Hulk, Black Panther. All colors represented, decent strike and protect tile placement, decent attacks, and a board clearing move.
Basically my team synergy in this combination looks like this:
Hulk- Tank, when attacked black creates green tiles, which is used to power board clearing move, Red power avoid due to self inflicting damage to himself and team and because for red I use...
Magneto- Striker, level 5 red creates small damage for 2 red but can create insane multiple cascades for cheap. Purple creates a shuffle attack which does fairly decent damage. Blue places protect tiles which can be placed almost anywhere (great for board control) but if you want blue protect tiles use...
Black Panther-Defense/support, blue creates countdown tile which places up to 5 protect tiles on the board. Yellow power creates fairly decent strike tiles which increases attack strength, And black....I dont even need to mention what that does.
LIke I said, all colors, no major over lapping & a great synergy of powers. Thoughts/suggestions? Had I not just played around with it I dont think I wouldve found that team.

GOD YES! That or the Classic/Modern Storm with OBW. Ive played that team & the synergy is just not there like people act like it is. Maybe if I had a level 85 MN Mags itd be different, but even my 66 Classic mags works better with everyone than the MN version. I usually kill Storm before she has a chance to get her blue off. This goes into my huge post a page back about defensive teams. Your defending team is played by the crappy computer AI, Mags/storm have no chance but I dont think people realize that.

Every single time. It's one of the common trios I don't mind finding. The game really needs another 2* healer and another 2* heavy hitter that isn't a costume change for someone else. Make them as useful as OBW+Thor/Ares, but with different variations on the theme. There's a reason they are the staple characters, and adding another 3* isn't going to help middle tier players.
My MMR is back up again, hitting full teams of level 141. Even ran into a level 230 Invisible Woman. That's just nuts.
And Hulk/Magneto/Black Panther sounds like a comic story I want to see done just to figure out how those three manage to team up. But as for gameplay, seems solid.

I havent seen that glitch, but I do seem to get lots of slow down and some 'ghosting' on the power buttons . I think this occurs more during the last stages of the tournament when everyone's playing.
Shame they're requiring you to use Patch for the high scoring matches in Oscorp Heroic Mode. I don't have him, and it's impossible to keep up playing just the standard rounds.

Even if you have him it doesnt make a difference, the point values are horribly low. Usually I can play every node & be at a decent rank but this, Im not catching up and rubber banding doesnt seem to be working.
*Edit* ok I looked at the D3 forum on the event, I see why Im not at a decent rank. This event is for lack of a better word
ed. They did something in the middle of the last sub bracket, rubber banding is next to nothing. So basically its a grind grind grind until each node gets to 1 pt. Nice... Oh well I'll be sitting in rehab with my dad again for 2 hours, so I got time. Thankfully the center he's at has free wifi.

Looks like I have between slim and none chances to get a 3* Daken. I don't mind fighting a couple of rounds for each node, but grinding down to 1 just isn't in my schedule, and I'm probably too late now anyway.
Someone needs to inform D3 about change control. These kinds of changes need to go in between events, not during.
As long as he isn't the only person left on his team, that's how it works. Supposedly it hits another member of his team twice, but I haven't specifically notice it happen.

Yeah if there's a team attack it will hit 1 other team member twice instead of hitting hawkeye. Thats why I have purple as low as I can get it, keeps hawkeye safe but sometimes I dont want other people dying on me. Avoid one of the most useful useless skills out there, thankfully if the countdown tiles dont get matched Hawkeye can take down a whole team if he's the only one left.
As for this event, this is the 1st time Ive been struggling to get to the lowest tier for a new character cover. Im hovering in the 150s but I leave for a bit & Im back under 150 range. Even playing and grinding for a bit I have only made it up to 114. Im thinking I may just wait for a tournament for Daken, as having 1 cover wont make a huge difference. There's no way I would even still be trying to score without Patch in these rounds. My regular baddies are up to level 200+. Patch baddies? High 50's, low 60's, and for more points. Not as many points as usual, true, but more points nonetheless.
On a similar note, can someone that can actually use the in game chat try and motivate people to score some points in the Oscorp event? We are less than half a tier away from EVERYONE getting a purple Lazy Daken cover. And I know 65 places is a long way to jump, but if everyone can add a couple thousand each time they play, I know we'd hit it.

YES. Please do that. If we have people focusing on Season 1 we should really all turn our attention to the Oscorp Event. I have not had as much time as usual but I am still decently ranked in the Oscorp event for us and that isnt a good thing! If I havent been playing all that much but am still decently ranked among us then we need some butt kicking! If you guys are here and read this, GO PLAY THE OSCORP EVENT and then maybe downsouth since it appears his chat is still functioning, can make an inspiring post on there to spur the troops! : P
The only big draw for the Season 1 event is Nick Fury, but let's be honest here... how often does anyone use ANY of the 4* characters they already have? You know those recruit tokens you're going to win are going to be absolute shite (I had 1 cover in my 10-pack that I could actually use). I just think that pushing your resources to a character that we KNOW will be featured in at least one event is worth more than a 4 star that no one at our level will use for a really long time.

Agreed. While the prospect of scoring Fury is cool, getting the other event rewards are much more beneficial. Plus since Season 1 last so long you can keep playing it here and there and still score the 10 pack, that is what I have been doing and am getting close to it.

The Oscorp tower event has been going on for days. I saw the explanation earlier for why we hadn't reached the point total yet (That green bar won't move).
I can take down the 100+ level enemies for 700 or so points, but that doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Those "Heroic Mode Only" 50% boosts are a big help as well.

This is an oversight on my part, as well. Having six characters that I can run in this event (4 of them pumped higher than level 85), I overlooked that some people may not even have a full team to throw at the enemy.

Yeah, I have Patch Thor and Cap that are all boosted to like 120 or so. I have a crappy Psylocke and then Magneto, both of which I havent even used in this. I figured at the very least everyone would have the 2* Thor and Cap.

No worries with a boosted Thor it makes he easier guys go by quick. Just gotta heal more often.

Yeah this Heroic mode is just hosed as I said earlier, Ive been grinding and maybe have moved to 4th or 5th in the alliance ranks. In the sub event Im struggling to even make it to the top 50, clear 500 pts & Im still stuck at #52. Clear another node, still no movement.
Then there's the patch required nodes which thankfully have the enemies at a decent level. I didnt realize what was going on until ltrain mentioned something. Then I played the "overwatch" node, the one on the oscorp tower, & had my ass handed to me by level 135 enemies.
Then there's the roster from which you can select from, this is a hindrance for a lot of people. Ive looked at most people's rosters, I know who can or cant do what. This is why for those starting out uncle tigger has some tips for you.

- DONT WORRY ABOUT 3* CHARACTERS!!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough & that is my number 1. Sure its really cool to have that 3* character, but what can you do with it? 1 cover, it stays at level 15, its worthless in a battle against anything but a hammer agent/maggia & even then its just a spot filler since it cant do much. Worst part is usually the 1 cover you get is the suck power. So stop worrying about that 3* cover thats taking up space in your roster, in fact stop trying to get them until you have at least 2-3 2* characters at level 85.
- Where are you spending your hero points? The alliance makes a decent amount per tournament. Each tournament lasts 2-3 days & the Alliance gets 50 per tourney. So what, 100 per week? Let me guess the 100 HP for daily deals to get shiny new covers huh? STOP! SAVE THE HP FOR CHARACTER SLOTS!!!!!! Because what, now you've got only a few character slots & they're being taken up by the 1 cover 3* characters with the crap power you cant use. If you want to use HP for something other than Slots in your character roster then buy shields in tournaments. The shield you buy better just be the 75, 3 hour one too. Unless you have a kickass lead, youve just wasted more HP with that 8 hour shield.
- Speaking of Tournaments, if your roster is full of 1 cover 3* characters, why are you even playing them? You have no shot in hell with getting a good prize & will even be beaten by the teams that only have level 30 1*s. Play the events, play the prologue.
- Build a good team, back to rule #1 DONT WORRY ABOUT 3* COVERS!!!!!! Start off with 1* Iron Man & Modern Storm. Get them to level 50, keep them. Then transition to 2* Wolverine, Thor, Classic Storm, get them to level 85. All those standard tokens you redeemed hoping for a great 3* & chucked all the "crappy" 1* covers for iso, was a waste and a mistake. Real talk, when you finally get a X-force Wolverine with only 1 cover at level 30, compare him to your level 50 Iron man 1*. 1 repulsor blast by iron man will kill 4* X-force.
- ISO ISO ISO ISO By keeping a small roster & probably trying to keep higher * characters, you've got iso out the ass. What are you going to do with it? You will always get more iso, so going back to 4, use the iso to build a good team. Unless your bored out of your mind only use ISO for leveling up.
- NEVER BUY CHARACTERS! The game will give you tons of tokens to buy characters, so dont waste ISO or HP on character covers. If you have the HP to burn, buy a new slot. Return on good covers are very low anyways. SO chances are very slim of getting anything really great. Plus most multiplayer battles now offer you as much of a chance of getting a decent 2* as the character tokens do.

Im playing right now, have the devs injected points in AGAIN? I feel something's up. I was hovering at 150 in the main bracket & 50 in the sub event. I had to use boosts on the over watch node, since after 2 attempts I was slaughtered both times. After completion I see that Im 17 in the sub event and now 90 in the main event. No way I jumped up that much with only 400 points from that 1 hard as hell node. Best part I love about the node, my characters are all over ~100 boosted, the node itself is "normal" not hard or deadly, yet I still cant win without boosts. Like I said, somethings up.
Also interesting how I jumped up but the alliance still is struggling at around 200. Ive seen barely any movement yet I see our alliance gaining points.

I have watched my team of maxed Thor and lvl 53 hulk just sit there and eat it by a modern Storm and BW. so sad/
What is sad is that I just learned that the Heals replenish if you are under 5 every 38 min. Ever since learning that, I have been in the top 50.

Thank you for this, this brings up another excellent tip. If you have to RETREAT! Better to have 1 character die and lose some hit points than just sitting there hoping you can turn it around. When you get into a Black Widow Stun/ Modern Storm cascade loop, just hit the back button & retreat. No sense just watching yourself die hoping you get a turn.
Same goes for Venom, Ive had loops where he just does symbiote snare over and over, pair him with Juggernaut and at high levels thats a huge pain in the ass.

I really hope the event ends before the #3 plays again hahah

I booted daryn, he wasnt doing anything. I know we talked about it before so I just finally kicked him so that we could maybe get a high scorer to put us over the edge with the Oscorp event.
I saw when that random guy came but wanted to buy a slot but it seemed shady and I couldnt really chat with him : /
I got #2 in that last sub event and all 3 of my tokens were shit. : /
I am at like 10 now overall and so I really hope we can get the Alliance Daken reward so that I can have one of each move!

Anyways the token pulls have been horrible lately. I know random is random but sometimes I have to wonder.
I got to 300 & got my God of lies token, went to redeem it. Black bullseye cover.... Now here's where the insult to injury comes in.
Win a God of lies match, managed to get a cover as a reward. Who would have thunk it, Black bullseye cover. Wow, I have better luck winning covers than redeeming heroic/special tokens. Now if it had only been 2 bagman covers I wouldve felt an even harder kick in the nuts.

And yeah while the idea of someone buying a slot is awesome, that means we would have to make that person a Commander who could then boot everyone and we then couldn't boot and oddly enough that person had about 500 points, yes only 500 points in both Season 1 and Oscorp. Weird.
But yeah here is to hoping for a solid random for now to at least get us that Dakennnnnnnn!
This is one of those events you're going to have to be playing when it ends to keep your spot. A few matches can mean the difference between 30th and 92nd. I played for 20 minutes this morning and that's how far I jumped. I fully expect to be in the low hundreds by the time I pick it up again at lunch time.
I haven't started it yet, so I'll play the last hour of Loki's round and try to snag a blue Model 40 for posterity. If I get in at the back end of a bracket, that's not going to happen, so here's hoping.

I have been hovering from 7-15 in the Oscop event so I am pretty stoked that I should be able to hold onto my two Daken covers.
I am beating a dead horse here by this point, but play play play Oscorp! We are less than 50 slots away from the cover and we could easily do that if everyone did a strong push tonight!
Plus here is to hoping we can score a random with a really high score : P

I just posted to someone on the d3p forums looking for an alliance. Person has played for less than a month, but they have over 30k for the Oscorp event. Can't hurt to give them a shot, right?
So I sent messages to 3 people, actually. Are we going to have a spot for one of them if they decide to join?
One might be perfect, as he's just looking to get in for the end of the Loki and Oscorp events.

Yeah I agree. While I like that they are trying to mix it up and stop people from only playing at the very end, it makes it difficult to plan play time in general when it is so up in the air.

If we can get someone with 30k in Oscorp that would be amazing. I have just over 30k and am our top scorer. If we get that person that could push us to the Daken cover.
Get it situated with that guy, I can make us private so that he/she can join.
He's interested, but is worried about losing his pending alliance rewards from God of Lies, so he's going to let me know once he gets them. Then he'll drop out of his current random alliance and come aboard.
