My first reaction to this was to :roll:, but some of the errors are actually pretty egregious, like basic stuff about quarians and asari that you could glean from a quick glance at their wiki entries. The description of quarian suits in particular is ridiculous.
 
Some of the errors in the new book are bad, but nothing that would ruin the story for me. I'm glad I k ow going in though. I have the book waiting for me on the porch at home. :)

And for the record, I'm indifferent on this Chobot business but I would like to have crazy Larry on the Normandy selling his wares.
 
Seeing as how I'd do a 1080 triple-reverse faceplant into Jessica Chobot's butt at any given second, I don't mind her being aboard my ship (or in the game, for that matter).

Anything past 3:00 in that video is fucking insulting, though, and I refuse to talk about it, watch it, or even acknowledge its existence anymore. If I ever get the time, I'll upload the first half of that video and stick it in the OP along with the other promotional vids.

Damn. Guess I picked the wrong day to stay out of the thread earlier in the day if Tha X is that pissed off about a video partway-in.

I was going to pick up Deception on Amazon's 4-for-3 promotion, though if it has some pretty bad mistakes in the ME universe, I think I'll have to give it a pass. The krogan mistake and volus mistake are pretty egregious to make, IMO.
 
Skimmed through some of those inaccuracies in Deception, and wow. Sounds like it's going to be a painful read.

Hearing Sheen and getting a glimpse at The Illusive Man makes me pop wood, though.

Apparently there are 72 errors now. Lore errors, technologically nonsensical things, timeline errors and a general poop on the English language. To me, it doesn't even sound worth it to potentially add to the universe.

I don't have any hate for Chobot, though I'm not sure what her character is in ME3 from the voice actors clip posted earlier in the thread. She looks like a aerobics instructor, from the quick shot of her that we see.
 
I don't have a problem with Chobot being in the game. As long as she's not a integral character to the story's progression, I don't see a problem. Just as long as it's not Felicia Day. We've already got one person who phones it home (Jennifer Hale). Kinda peeved that there was no Mark Meer in the trailer. Afterall, he is the voice of the game.

I also think Prinze can do a great job as a voice acting even though I still think the design for Vega is pretty boring. Seeing him shadowbox during his lines proved that he actually wants to do it. Oh and speaking doing 1080s into butts...Tricia Helfer! :3

Well all of this news is pretty interesting, I could go either way with Chobot, It's fine to have her voice in the game the, in-game model is kinda goofy looking. One of my buddies told me that some images have leaked from the new art book that is coming out.

It is related to who/what the other squadmates are. I guessed correctly on one and the other I was kinda caught off guard by.. It's the only spoiler thing I've looked(besides EA posted videos) so far and I will leave it at that.

This game can't come out soon enough!

You think Jennifer Hale phones it in for her voice acting? Given the choice between her and Mark Meer, Mark is far closer to phoning it in that Jennifer Hale. The character design isn't anything special for Vega, I'll give you that point. FPJ does seem like he is trying to put some enthusiasm into the character of Vega.

It's almost like one of those comedies where there are so many cameos that the movie is like "look who we have in this movie, isn't that great?" rather than having actually substantive content.
 
That's a good point about Emily. At first I was thinking, well yeah, they already have a reporter character but Al-Jilani is such a punchline at this point that if they wanted a reporter that the player would take even slightly seriously, it was necessary to invent a new one. But I forgot... we already had Emily Wong. Hmm.

My plan is to keep my head down and focus on thousand'ing FF13-2, and hopefully that will carry me through most of February. It's going to be hard avoiding hype meltdown when the release date starts getting really close. :p

This just seems like they are catering to the lowest common denominator. I know I am taking it way to seriously, but I really don't need her in my space opera video game. Mass Effect is a groundbreaking series with real consequences to your actions(with results possibly years after you made them. To trivialize any of my possible interactions with a "wink wink" cameo could really pull me out of the moment.

Any other game and I wouldn't care - but don't fuck with my Mass Effect!

From the clip we see of her, she looks like the ship's aerobics instructor more than anything else. Hard to think she's not more than that, which again, comes from a 2 second blip of her character.

I don't quite get it, but I signed up and tried to recruit some friends. Maybe it'll make more sense with mission 2. What really rubs me the wrong way is that you can get the Normandy avatar prop as a prize. This is now the 2nd time you can get it without getting the LE. It bothers me because why the hell spend all the money on the LE if they'll give away unique pieces of it via other media? I mean, yes, I got the prop for way too much via ebay back in May...but still. I don't know why that bugs me so much.
