Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
Agreed. I like having the ME1 LCE, though it does take up about 2-3 games worth of space on the rack.
I didn't like it enough to keep it when I found a new-to-used convert of ME 1 PH for $15 at Best Buy and I sold my ME 1 CE for $165 on Amazon. :)

Guess I'm officially a tier 2 fan now. (To be fair I'm trying to save money to go to PAX Prime in Sept.)
Leave and never come back.
LOL...Guess ME just isn't that important to me after two so-so games already. I liked ME1, pre-ordered it even. ME2 I was lucky enough to pick up on release day without a pre-order, but in hindsight I'd have been better off saving the $60 (plus DLC) and just waiting, like till when it hit the full, complete edition on PSN for what was the recent sale price, $30 for Everything?

And I don't normally do CE, they're not worth the extra bucks, especially when all I'd care about is the game itself. All the bonus swag in CE's really have no interest for me. Steelbooks and tin cases I can live without, art books they can keep, soundtracks I'd never listen to. So unless I eventually find a CE for the same price as an average game I usually pass (Two Worlds CE for $12, I was all over that. Halo2 Steelbook, complete, for $15, I was all over that, Halo3 Legendary complete for under $25, lucked out on that deal, otherwise, Meh).

You can tell a Tier 1 fan because their kids are named Liara and Garrus.

Xecutioner is a Tier 1.5 fan on account of the 40-foot Normandy model he built in his back yard, complete with functional mass effect drive. Where'd he get the eezo...?
I would want it to be Steelbook, but as long as it's a regular DVD sized tin and not an oversized tin like ME 1/Gears 1 CE's then I'll be content.
I just hope that the game case is a normal case like the Assassin's Creed tin was. That way I don't have to try and find some replacement for the cardboard that is used.

Would I make tier 1 if I teach my 4 year old to say "she had the reach, I had the flexibility."?

When Child Protective Services shows up at your house, be sure to tell them about the ancient space lobsters that are coming to destroy the Earth. Ah yes... " Reapers " .

Have twin boys due in April. Was going to go with Grunt and Legion.

Too much?

Very stoked for this game, but not sure I'll get it at launch.

Due to selling my 360 out of frustration over my hacking situation, I lost my game saves.

I've bought ME2 for PS3, so I need to use the comic tool to recreate my ME1 decisions and then play through ME2 again. Not sure I'll have time or motivation to do that before ME3 launches. But I'll get it done eventually!

I may try to shoot for doing the ME2 playthrough (or at least a big chunk of it) the end of the month/1st week of March over spring break when I'm not teaching.

Hmmm. I still have three copies of the CE on preorder-- Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy. I was going to keep one and cancel the others based on DLC (which Gamestop seems to be the winner), but now I'm contemplating keeping all of them and seeing where the chips fall after release.

Yeah, it's more just that I've got a few other games on the shelf to play for the first time, so I'm not that motivated to replay ME2 right now.

But I may try to get to it at the end of the month if I knock out a couple shorter games between now and then. Skyrim is looming large on the shelf as well, but I'm tempted to just save that for the summer when I'm not teaching at all and can devote more time to it.

You always have 30 days to take it back, if the prices on the secondary market don't work for what you'd like.

DMaul I've put 90 hours into Skyrim and played basically somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 of the content (Story finished, Companions guild finished, Dark Brotherhood dead, Thieves Guild not touched, Mage's College just started, only 1/3 of daedric and temple quests completed)

With your schedule I'd definately get through ME 2 this month then go into ME 3 and then look in the summer for Skyrim. If you want the PS3 CE, you can still get the CE for it I believe.
And you're dead to me now, selling off a ME1 LCE. :booty:
Well I do have the ME 1 CE strat guide bundle so I have the hardbound full artbook, the oversized tin wasn't even on my shelf (had the games in a blank case with the tin in the closet,) and the 2nd disk was reissued in the PH version. All I lost was bragging rights and the history book.

I still have/won't sell my Tales of Vesperia CE so it's not like I got rid of ALL of my rare 360 games. :)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking schedule wise. Though I tend to go through these games fairly quickly compared to some.

Think I spent 70 hours on Oblivion, and that was with getting every achievement other than one I missed in the Shivering Isles (the opposite Duke choice). I really just focused on quest lines with achievements attached though. Same with Fallout 3 where I played through the main game and all the DLC in 60 hours or so.

ME3 I'll get on PS3, but I never get CEs. I'd like the extra game content, but hate big cases, art books etc. as I'm just not a collector type. I generally beat games and sell/trade them.

Mass Effect Infiltrator breaking in to iOS devices

The Mass Effect series is hitting iOS devices with Mass Effect Infiltrator, coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch soon, EA announced. Infiltrator is a third-person shooter featuring weapons and powers from the Mass Effect franchise, where players attempt to free prisoners from a hostile cerebrus base.

Players will receive awards for collecting evidence of cerebrus crimes in their mission, with each discovery and rescue increasing their Mass Effect 3 Galaxy at War Galactic Readiness rating. Actions in Infiltrator can affect the larger Mass Effect 3 storyline, and weapons unlocked in the mobile version can be used in Mass Effect 3.

And that's the sound of $500 being spent on an ipad this week. I was about to buy one anyway, this just sweetens the deal to diabetic proportions.

You'll enjoy it. I got an iPad 2 at launch and love it. Use it daily for random stuff, and a few days a week for work related tasks.
Quick Mass Effect 2 question: I borrowed the game from a friend. Will I miss out on anything by not having access to the Cerberus Network?
Nothing game-breaking. The Firewalker missions were worthless IMO, and the Normandy crash site was good but slight. The most substantial thing you're missing is Zaeed and his mission. Zaeed is a cool guy and actually quite a good squadmate to have, but you'll make it through the game just fine without him.

ETA: Forgot about the Eviscerator shotgun, which is actually one of the game's better shotguns, but again, nothing that will make or break your experience.

Zaeed is more of a squadmate to have on the higher difficulty levels, though for a Normal playthrough, you can not worry about having him around.
Yeah, he's flexible. You can spec him out to be a beast against organics or geth.
I spec him out to be a beast at ejecting trash out of the normandy.

Here are some screens for the ios Infiltrator game: http://wireless.ign.com/articles/121/1218153p1.html

Some observations:
I've noticed that you play as a cerberus operative, or at least, you're wearing cerberus armor. In addition, in the one screenshot, it's clear that your player has been augmented with Reaper technology a'la Paul Grayson in the novels and even the Illusive Man himself. Look at the eyes and reference the "evolutions" comic run. Last thing, in one shot, he's fighting a Cerberus mech and in another, he's fighting geth. Looks like Bioware has cooked up an interesting story for this one.

Decided to go ahead and start up my ME2 replay through on PS3. Just played up until the point where you get the Normandy. Hopefully I can chip away at it and have it done by the time ME3 is out.

I was going to ask why you were switching to PS3 but then I read your blogs. Jesus tap dancing Christ.

I had someone (China) take over my account and purchase $60 worth of MS points to my card. I disputed it and got all the money back on my card. However, Microsoft also forgot to take away $20 worth of points on my account, so those are still on there (yay me). They told me to open a hacked account ticket, but by then I had already changed my password with no more issues, so I didn't bother.

Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. Since I wiped my HD and traded in the console in frustration, I have to replay if I want my characters to import.

Decided to just do it on the PS3 since I didn't have ME2 for 360 anymore, and don't want to buy an 360 games other than exclusives in the future for the most part as I'm still pretty sour on MS for that experience.
Did you guys see the Calibur11 system vault with N7 armor? Sure its spiffy, but even I have limits.
This could be as close I could get to a ME custom system. I'm not digging the armor too much. You can remove it, if you want to. I might look into it..

I was just wondering last night if there would be an iOS tie-in game. This looks great, though I'll be playing it on a 4S rather than an iPad.

Yeah, regardless of Zaeed's actual specs/capabilities, he was a Grade A douche and I would never allow him near my squad.

Oh yeah? Well,

Him, Garrus and Miranda.

I used Miranda and Grunt for Insanity runs. It's not so much that I think Grunt is the best, but I just like having a Krogan on my squad. Makes me miss Wrex so bad though. I hope his role in ME3 is full combat companion.

Man, me a my friend were talking about that. I have been replaying ME 2 and I kept calling Grunt, Wrex and he was like "you just want him to be Wrex!"
