it should be on disc 2, this is what the description says for the 2 discs


2- Disc set to include:

  • Disc 1- Mass Effect video game
  • Disc 2- Documentary, Game Trailers, Music, Design Galleries & Bring Down the Sky


im thinking maybee it will be like oblivion.goty where you rip it from disc, i will be picking this game up next time i am out by gamestop or somewhere, but im in no rush
 
Well considering it just went on "Platinum Hits" this week, it doesn't surprise me some stores don't have it in stock yet... though you can find it online like on Amazon and Gamestop already.

I was at Walmart last night and they have all the non-PH Mass Effect games marked down to $19.82 (along with Fracture for the same price...tempting). I didn't check the actual games cases but i'm sure it will be in stock soon enoguh.

No, that doesn't make sense. I mean the "street date" for Mass Effect was February 10th, they may just haven't got the shipments yet.

Though I would expect this to go on sale in most stores by next week.
 
So mine (gamestop) actually got it in today as I walked in. DLC is on the second disc along with themes..etc. Sadly it is the only game that seems to make the fan in my xbox work double time and sound really loud.

No GS within 100 miles of me has it. I guess I'll have to get it online.

I wonder if GS will treat this version differently then the standard version when it comes to PO copies. I hope not, it would be kinda cool to get it cheaper used.
 
Gee I'm glad I bought the CE for 80 bucks lol, oh well there would have been no way I'd hold out that long to grab it for 20. My only question though, my themes that I got from the CE totally suck with the NXE, did they fix those or are they the same?
 
Don't know if they fixed any themes...doubt they did. But, there is a new premium theme based on the citadel that's pretty cool. Just dl'd it today.
 
A citadel theme? Wow. I would actually throw some bones down for it. Here's hoping my local GS shops have it in stock next week though I have no idea what to do with my original copy. God knows I'm keeping the original cover slip though in favor of the hideous platinum hits. >_>

I kinda chuckled when I read your post, I'm doing the exact same thing with my original slipcover. Gamestop is already closed, anybody know what this is getting in trade there? (no, I do not have any patience at all )
 
It pretty much has to be install since it's DLC that requires the full game to play (so you'd need the main game disc in since the DLC is on disc 2).
 
I wish Microsoft would improve upon these download discs at some point. Like, with Oblivion I bought the disc for Shivering Isles, installed it and sold the disc. Now what would be cool is that since I have the content installed, it should count as me having bought it from the marketplace so I could potentially re-download it anytime I wanted.
 
Finally got it in at GS.

Hopefully I can get to this soon after I beat GTA IV, Bioshock, and Braid. At least I think that's it for my current backlog
 
So the DLC is on this disc, just pop it in, sign into live, and download...makes me wonder if this could be passed around. Not sure about the NXE theme, going to install it after my girlfriend finishes watching her Arashi concert *sigh*.

Installing Your Mass Effect Platinum Hits Bonus Content

  • Insert the Mass Effect Platinum Hits bonus disc into your Xbox 360 with a hard drive or 512 MB Xbox 360 Memory Unit.
  • Sign into Xbox LIVE using your Xbox LIVE gamer profile.
  • From the bonus disc menu, use (d-pad) on your Xbox 360 Controller to move to install DLC, and then press (A).
  • Once the bonus content is loaded, press (A) again.
  • Eject the bonus disc, and then insert the Mass Effect Platinum Hits game disc.
  • To get started playing Bring Down the Sky, head to the Normandy's command deck to locate the Galaxy Map. Press (A) to select the map. Zoom out to Milky War view, move to the Asteroid X57 map marker (in Asgard System), and then press (A) to begin your mission.

I'm pretty sure the content is on the disc, I just installed the NXE theme (finally, no silver taking up half the screen!) and the DLC. It asks you where you want to save everything (HDD or MU) and it installs. I'm assuming this ties to your gamer profile so that you don't purchase this stuff on accident but there is a warning on the back of the game case saying you should be careful not to purchase content, blah blah blah.
 
Decided to play the game again after watching the trailer and switching to my Mass Effect them. Lol the craziest thing happened when I was on Feros. When I was heading back with the Makko outside with the half pipe like area I hit start and checked out what equipment I grabbed from blasting the Geth. As I came back the camera was locked and wouldn't move. I just drove off into the distance and then came back and tried everything but it was just stuck!? Anyone else experience anything like that?

I had on impulse bought the game from Walmart when it dropped to 20 bucks, but luckily found out about the 2 disk edition before opening it. Bought from Best Buy for ten bucks after RZ cert.
 
Excellent game. This, alongside with Fallout 3 (which I have yet to buy) made me buy a Xbox 360. What an excellent game! I started my first playthrough as a Female Soldier, Renegade. The dialogue is probably the best I have seem, it really is a space opera done right, with the right mix of action, storytelling, gameplay and humor.

I've already started a second playthrough as Female Engineer, Paragon. And looking forward for a third playthrough!

Yea I've played this game from beginning to end about 3 or 4 times, really I've lost track but it was fun every time.

I've yet to see the new 2-disc version anywhere in a store in metro detroit MI. I ended up ordering it from gamestop.com. Is anyone finding the PH version in-store?

Got my copy of the PH version from gamestop.com today. Very nice, overall.

I hadn't heard anybody mention this, but it comes with an exclusive premium theme of the Normandy. Bonus!!

Very cool theme though, it's nice having a darker foreground instead of the dull gray.
 
How do I continue from a saved game file? I finally bought the game (PH version) and will probably start playing again in a couple of days.
 
Not that we didn't see it coming, but Mass Effect 2 was officially confirmed for the 360 and PC. No details, yet, other than humanity now faces a threat greater than the Geth
(the Reapers were the real threat, were they not?)
. Also, obviously, thanks to the teaser trailer, rumors persist that Shepard is dead.

I really wonder what path the story will take. The first one was so well done that I worry about the next Mass Effect being kind of clichê. One thing that I always loved was the start of KOTOR2, on the semi-destroyed ship, where you have to fix that. I'd like to see something like that, and the next character being a civilian rather than military.

I just hope the next game kick as much ass as this one.
 
Regarding ME2, keep in mind that Bioware isn't handing the game/story off to anyone else. This is their baby and I predict this game is going to be epic. I mean, game changing like FF7 or GTA3 kinda epic.

Now that they have the game engine up and running, all that they have to do is make tweaks and improvements here-and-there. And considering the story has probably been read over 100's of times and fleshed out, i'm extremely excited. All i ask is that the inventory be reworked...;)

As long as Drew Karpyshyn is writing the story, we'll be good. I loved both his ME books as well as the first Darth Bane book (haven't read the second one yet). He also wrote the story for the first KOTOR, so he's got a great track record.
 
lol for 20 bucks, wow I paid 85 for the CE. Yea man you should get it, its one of the best RPGs on the 360 with a lot of shooting elements. Also have squad based gameplay if you want.

Yea I need to grab the 2nd book as well, would have used my amazon trade in credit for that but bought China Wars instead. ^^
 
The squad based gameplay initially scared me off, but it works out fine. It can be very handsoff, apart from equipping your characters. Even though you choose 2 people from up to 6 or so, everyone levels up even those not in battle, so they don't get stuck behind.
My only complaint so far about the game (six hours in) is that it's so sloooow. Not even the story part, I like the story and the "roleplaying" aspect of it, but the loading times even after installing the game to HD. It could be worse, but it's a little offputting. Still, the game is worth it, especially at 20 bucks for the expanded Platinum Edition.
