McD's monopoly starts soon
Don't waste your money sending in any requests now. There's only half as many BestBuy Bucks available as last year according to the rules. People on Fatwallet/Slickdeals have been sending out requests for hundreds/thousands since last week already. You'll probably just recieve a copy of the rules in your SASE, and no game pieces, with the part that says "While supplies last" highlighted.
you got to remember though. LAST YEAR the BEST buY BUCKS were on the Fries as well. Im sure that is why the number has been cut so much cause they are no longer on the fries.

i do agree that the time of sending out 100 to 1000 has pasted ( if your going to send out that many you have to have them in the mailbox the day before the contest starts)

I personally know one person who sent in 2000 entries (down from 10,000 last year) ... one of these years i want to go to vermont and do the 25,000 like a co worker of mine used to last year

for those who dont belive you can make a nice profit from this game

LAST YEAR
25,000 entires = 9250 in cash
she got back 8189 3 buck ones rest were 1 buck ( (16811) = 41, 378 Best buy bucks

i think she sold each game for 35 bucks ? x 827 games = 28945

Profit of 20,000 Bucks she made last year

This Year (she didnt do it this year due to job/personal problems)

25,000 entries = 9,750 bucks

1 in 12.5 gets 5.00 taking higher odds of 1 in 20

1250 (5) 23,750 (1) Total Best buy bucks 30,000 best buy bucks
sell each 50 buck game on ebay for 35 600 games = 21,000 bucks

21,000 Bucks - 9750 = TOTAL PROFIT 11,250 bucks

Anyone who sent in SASE in on the 3rd not get anything back yet?

I dropped off 100 late that day but so far not a single one returned. Hoping I'm not out the $85 bucks.

sent mine on the 2nd and got all of them back as of OCT 9 (besides 2)

I sent out around 65 on the 3rd and a few every day after that and have not gotten any back yet. If I don't get any by next Tuesday since it will be 2 weeks at that point, I'll be worried. It is fusturating not to get any back when I read on SD someone in CA got some back already and I am only around 800 miles from where the SASE's went to
It sucks Verizon doesn't work for the free phone stuff. It seems like Verizon never participates in these type of offers
When I was on Sprint, I hated the fact that they were the ones that didn't work with any special stuff like this. Now I'm on Verizon and I'm getting the shaft all over again.

And as an extra note... my 100 went into the mail from CA on the 4th and nothing back yet. I probably won't start to worry for at least another week or so.

Got 3 back today and they did have the BB bucks piece so hopefully the other 97 will keep trickling in also.

can anyone explain how to do this thing.
I got two pieces:

Small McFlurry/Instant Win (okay, take that one back to McDs)
Penn. Railroad/5,000,000$ (what do I do with this peice)??

You need to collect all 4 railroad pieces to win the $5,000,000. There is only 1 Shortline Railroad piece so the chances of winning are next to nothing.

--------------------------------------

Got 8 requests back today, all $1 BBB, all common Monopoly pieces and 2 McFlurry pieces. I was hope I start getting the requests back every day now.

McDonald's caught on to everyone cheating by renting a PO Box in Vermont (cheating because the rules say residents of Vermont not those renting a PO Box out of state)
im glad mcdonalds finally clamped down. now they need to clamp down on people double dipping and from some threads on fat wallet and other places they are

(they are starting to write down code numbers and seeing if they been used online--- if they have you will be banned from using the rest of your pieces for fraud)

stands up and claps

Explain what you mean. If you use it at the store, they check the internet to see if your code has been used while you are checking out, and if it has they take your pieces away?

how im understanding it if you use so many pieces they take your name and later on that day will check the pieces. If the pieces have been used online They can ban you from using the others. Im not really sure how this will work unless they are going to start telling stores check ID on any purchase.

i hate to be the person who had to check all of those pieces.

That's kind of a shame, because they way that clamped down (no $3, none on fries, less $5 pieces), the double dipping was about all we have left.

(I don't want to get into the morality of double dipping, because if I recall correctly, it turned ugly here last year when that came up.)

This leads me to wonder a few things:
1. Couldn't you write down the numbers on the pieces and use the pieces in store and then, with your slip of paper, enter the numbers online and do a instore pickup? (The idea is flip the order most would do it...) I know when I used some for a instore pickup last year, I didn't have to present the pieces. (Why would I? I paid for everything online. If I had it shipped, how would I get the pieces to them anyway?)

2. What is the cut-off limit for the peices they check? I'm sure they would only do it when someone tries, say $50 or more. If it was a small amount, say $20, couldn't one always use the defense that "I had two sets of pieces, one for online use, and one for in-store, and I must have switched them! Sorry!" Yeah, that is kind of weak-sauce, but I doubt they'd been willing to go through the trouble. (Or a better excuse could be to say someone at work/ school gave them to you and you didn't know they used them online.)

Of course, that is if you give them or they ask for your name on contact info.(Pay any difference in cash!)

I'm not saying that double-dipping is okay, but they have had years to fix that, so I have no sympathy if people take advantage of such a glitch in the system. (And the people that were hassled by store managers the past two years for using more than $3 on games probably feel the same way...)

guys quick question, the winning piece of stamp is aways the "last" one of the set right? for example for 3001,3002,3003, 3003 is always the rare stamp and you can get the rest easy?
guys quick question, the winning piece of stamp is aways the "last" one of the set right? for example for 3001,3002,3003, 3003 is always the rare stamp and you can get the rest easy?
Actually, that is not the case. The "rare" pieces are:
Dark blue: Boardwalk (#3622) -Last
Green: Pennsylvania Ave (#3620) -First
Yellow: Ventnor Ave (#3616) -Middle
Red: Kentucky Ave (#3612) -Last
Orange: Tennessee Ave (#3610) -Middle
Fuchsia: Viriginia Ave (#3608) -First
Light Blue: Vermont Ave (#3604) -Middle
Dark Purple: Mediterranean Ave (#3601) -Last
Railroads: Short Line (#3626)

As you can see, it is nt always the last piece.

The only one I am not sure about this year is the railroads. Short Line is always rare, but it almost seems like all the railroads are hard to come by this year. In fact, I only have two of the railroads, and two or three doubles of everything else. (Because the railroads are the big prize and there are four, it wouldn't surprise me if they would make two of the four pieces rare! ;) )

Here's a link that could have saved me a few minutes: http://www.amazing-bargains.com/mcdonalds2006.html

And yes. I used the word "Fuchsia." Deal with it.

Three more cell phone game codes. You'll have to look back in the thread to find the URL for redemption, because I'm too lazy to look it up for y'all. :)

PlumeNoir already mentioned the correct "rares" above... but your thought was on the right track. The rare has always been the last one in the set alphabetically... with the exception of Boardwalk.

damnit, what a drag. The one time its worth living in VT and I hear about it way the fuck after the window of opportunity has closed. Damnit to hell.

I didn't really check the thread, but there's a lot of information around in here. Has anybody tried the double dipping of the codes this year? Does it still work? (Using them online and B&M.)

It should work.

I spent the BBB in the store and the cashier simply took the $ off the item directly. The barcode on the BBB is all the same for $1 and for $5. They can't programmatically scan in the unique codes, which you use for your online purchase. I can't imagine they would hire minimum wage people to key in the codes manually. It's too much work for them for the little savings anyway.

Thanks, even though I probably won't do it anyway, as I doubt there's two thing I even want from BB.

3 $1 BBB
Total BBB(including going to MCD's: $14. (2 $5 and 4 $1.

That's true but as slidecage mentioned earlier, it has been reported that some managers are taking the BBB during the transaction in store and checking a few to see if they have been used online. I guess it depends on the manager and I'm guessing it is for the higher purchased (anything over $100) but I think it's safer to use the codes in store first then online.
GAH!! I was one spot away from the free PSP space on the virtual Monopoly board at www.playatmcd.com

it took me 13 days to start getting mine back and i live in ohio i just got 1 back to day they seem to be trickling in slowly

I used my first $25 in store today. Thankfully I had no problems redeeming them but had the rules with me in case they tried to tell me I could only use $3on a game but that didn't happen.

I figured that this year there would be no problems using Best Buy bucks on video games in store since it's clearly pointed out in the rules that the $3 limit doesn't apply to videogames...yeah right.

I go to my local Best Buy, take Splinter Cell:Double Agent up to the cashier, and put down my $60 in Best Buy Bucks. "You can only use $3 on this."
I calmly pull out the top half of a premium chicken sandwhich container and read the rules. He calls his manager over, who says I can use them towards half the purchase price. I refuse his "generous" offer and leave. I head
home and call 1-888-Bestbuy. I tell them I have a complaint and they direct my call to customer service. I tell the rep what happened and he apologized several times to me and says they're not supposed to do what they did. He said he'd send them an e-mail immediately telling them to correct their practices and if I had any future problems using the Best Buy Bucks in store to have them call their 1-888 number to take care of it.

I headed back over to Best Buy, grabbed the last copy of SC:DA they had and took it to a register. They took my Bucks and there was no longer a problem.

If any Best Buy gives you a hard time concerning the Bucks, have them call the 1-888 number.

For anyone keeping track:

Out of the 100 I sent out 2 weeks ago I got back 4 today.

1 $5
3 $1
2 Breakfast Sandwich
1 Small soft drink / coffee

I'm beating the odds so far... hope my luck holds out for the remaining 96.

Got 29 out of 42 back today.

26 $1 BBB
3 $5 BBB(YEAH! I BEAT THE ODDS!!!)

1 Breakfast Medium Extra Value Meal
1 Any Break Fast sandwich
1 Small Mcflurry
5 Small Soft drinks or small coffee
4 Medium Fries
1 Large Beef Sandich

Right on for fighting against BB while using your 'DEVIL CUSTOMER' skills. ;)

A similar thing happened to me, except my purchase was for less than $30.00 total.

I wanted to pick up a PS2 game for $14.99 and a music CD for $9.99. I understood that a limit of $3 BBBs could be used towards the CD, but (as obviously stated) that limit doesn't count towards video games.

At first, the cashier tried that same BS on me about the "$3 limit...." and then I calmly explained that the limit doesn't apply to video games/software. Another cashier butts in and grabs a set of rules (the Monopoly gameboard that's also at McD's) and starts to check the rules. Sure enough, there is no kind of wording or phrase that specifically states a 'limit' of $3 on games, although I was kind of also at a disadvantage because it said that similar phrase from last year; "Limit 3 of any CD, DVD or video game title per customer, per day...".

Luckily, they accepted defeat, called a manager for authorization and let me use $18 BBBs for my purchase.

After the cashier scanned all 18 of the $1 BBBs, my grand total was $7 and some change.

I walked out quite happy, not only because I got the stuff I wanted, but because they didn't really give me any grief this time around.

We'll see what happens when I show up to buy Guitar Hero II and Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin in November. ;)

Yeah, my room mate who works at McDs, was able to get enough BBB for MK:A. They tried the same "$3 limit". He double checked the thing as we walk out, he walked back in there pissed, and got in front of the guy the same cashier was ringing up, and got in his face and clearly showed him the "rules". The guy was like, lemme go ask the manager. he came back and said he was sorry about the "misunderstanding". Man, fuck BB. I have about 23 bucks in BBB, I just can't decide on what I want to use them on. Thinking of either the Family Guy game for PS2 or save up and get a 12 mon kit for xbox live...
In other words, the $3 limit does not apply to video games, does it?
No

Also, for the people that have used them at Best Buy, Did the Cashier, Manager, person in Charge check to see if you had used them online?

They didn't check for me but I only used $25. I think they only check if it's a higher amount but it depends on the manager I guess.

Best thing to do if you don't want to deal with the hassle of having a jackass cashier or manager try and pull the $3 limit BS, would be to order online and do instore pick up. I'm 30 shy of a 12 month live kit, and thats what I plan on doing. Though you will need to still input a credit card, but if you have enough, you should only have to worry about 1 or 2 bucks on your card.

got 6 moreenvelopes today

1 $5 BBB (YEAH, STILL BEATING THE ODDS!!!)
5 $1 BBB

1 Med. Fries.

For those who double dip, would it be less sneaky if I used them in store, wrote the codes down, then used them online?
