NFL 2007 Season Thread
You really that confident that they will beat Seattle? I mean they have one of the worst offenses in the league right now. There D got killed in the 2nd half today also. I'm a Niner fan but I am not that confident about next week. Right now they just can't put points on the board when they are in the redzone and Smith is playing pretty poorly.
I'm very confident. The D played well, they only really gave up 16 pts, the one TD on special teams for the Steelers, the pick by Smith, and the wash TD by Davenport when the game was in the bag.

Smith, I back because if you watch the game, the recievers can't seperate for shit, so that's why he holds onto the ball. He has to wait a good 4-5 seconds for an open reciever, which shouldn't happen, period.

I'm suprised Lelie doesn't play more, he did dog it on that pick, but he's the only one that can stretch the field.

Also watched the Seahawks game, and they were lucky to win, Cincy has no idea what it's doing really.

I was close last week I predicted 31-17, I have 24-10 49ers winning. Watch out for Clements and Delanie Walker.

Oh, dont' even get me started on Davis.

I watch every Niner game and every game Smith stands in the pocket not looking comfortable at all. You said you watched yesterdays game, did you see the numerous times Smith left the pocket when the pocket was still there. Instead of running to the sideline Smith needs to step up into the pocket. Also Smith missed a few open Receivers yesterday. I do not see where you are saying the receivers cannot separate. Smith had plenty of chances and again he just looked bad. Not to say it was all is fault because the Niners have yet to get the running game going. But how can you get that going if nobody respects your passing game. Teams are just putting 8 in the box and Single covering the receivers. They are daring the Niners to throw down field. It will be a close one next week only because I do not think Seattle is playing that well right now. Seattle should be able to run all over the Niners if they play like they did this week. Niners are ranked right now 19th in total D including 25th against the rush. That's not good Defense. Not to mention there offense being ranked 31st.

It also has nothing to do with the drops by Jackson, Battle, Davis, Walker, and Lelie right?

Drops are going to happen. And there were a few last game but I don't think you can blame that whole performance on drops. And that one Vernon Davis catch they reviewed I thought was a catch. That was just a bad call altogether by the refs.

the call was bad..for both teams.. either it's a catch or a fumble...not an incomplete pass.. look.. the 49ers defense played pretty good.. the problem is that they don't have a go to WR... hell just get consistent WR like Bryant was for them back in the day...watch Alex Smith flourish.. the big thing about the Steelers passing game was that Cowher never threw to the TE if he could help it...now all of a sudden.. we are throwing to our TEs..

It was nice to see the Lions show their true quality yesterday. Think I heard Kitna was sacked six times. They should just draft the fastest guy each year put him at QB and tell him to run for his life every snap.

It was either a catch or interception because the ball never hit the ground. And like I said before Smith has a decent said of weapons. It is better than he had his first two years. Steelers have played well but have not played a top tier team yet. I think we will know more about them when they play Baltimore and New England.

actually their offense hasn't played well at all.. they are streaky...and I know that they are better than they way they play

Hines Ward was on crutches yesterday, but judging by teh fact that he only had 1 reception for 2 yards yesterday, i think we will be able to beat arizona without him. May miss his presence and blocking ability if he doesnt play though. Steelers def. have been gettin it done w/ the TEs.

Man this was a great week for FF for me.

I am trying to unload bitch ass Muarice Jones Drew on everyone on my league though.

Anyway.

Yeah living near Detroit I hate lions fans and their blind love affair for the lions.

But my two teams are doing well this year. Titans all the way followed by the Pats.

That Titans game was good and really showed that Vince can get the job done without having to put up 400 yard games. That guy just finds ways to win.

According to Ben Maller's NFL Rumors, it appears Lovie Smith will start Brian Griese against the Lions come Sunday. Then again Terry Bradshaw also said he sees Donnovan McNabb going to Chicago in 2008.

The only thing Davis is good for is blocking, and getting his hurr` did.

I'm huge on Delanie Walker, size, strength, HAS HANDS, and great blocking skills.

after last week i was able to trade MJD for Cadillac Williams, then i was offered Ronnie Brown for Cadillac, when he blew up on Sunday I accepted the trade before they had a chance to recant it.

You lucky bastard.

But just you wait....fate will screw you over and MJD will be back to his prime........at least I hope.

I hope he stays here in Philly. I would develope Kolb a little more before letting McNabb go..I like Kolb and I think he has a future.

I think Brown and Cadillac will probably be close to a wash.

MJD was high on my avoid list this year. He was great for me last year but that was mainly because Jones & Taylor missed most of the year. Expect Reggie Bush to have a similar year to MJDs last with Duece out of the picture.

Well, I went 10-6 with my picks last week so for the season I'm 21-11 (starting making picks in Week 2). Finished second in my office pool again so I just need to find that one or two upsets that will put me over the top.
actually their offense hasn't played well at all.. they are streaky...and I know that they are better than they way they play
Right now they are ranked #8 offensively. I would say that is playing well.

Thank you, Bears. I got sick and tired of watching every SportsCenter and seeing Rex saying, "I just gotta play better." I can't imagine how maddening it must have been for Bears' fans.

I would def. take Heath Miller as my fantasy TE this week. Hines will probably play but not be 100% (Knee Sprain). And TE's have been getting a lot of TDs so far this season for the black and gold.

Damn, I was hoping Grossman would at least make it until week 5 so he could get another taste of Packer D!

It's funny to poke fun at Rex, but I felt bad for the kid, I mean name the last good QB to come out of Florida...he's a decent QB, a #2, or a #1 on the Vikings. It's Lovie's fault really thinking Rex was some stud, follow what the Ravens did, rely on the D and make sure the O doesn't lose the game.

I feel sympathy for him too...doesn't make him a decent QB though.

Heck name one good QB that has come out of Florida ever.

I don't feel bad for him, he was the starting QB in a Superbowl and has made some money, not to mention winning 2 NCAA championships and being a Heisman runner up. He's had a great run, and if he bounces around as a backup QB for a few more years, it'll still be a career that anyone can be proud of.

Ken Dorsey is barely hanging on in the league as a fringe player, and thats still a great career.
if there is one thing Florida and Miami QBs taught us is that none of their QBs make good NFL QBs
Vinny Testeverde was pretty decent IMO.
I'd say Jim Kelly and Bernie Kosar were pretty decent, too.
lmao.. no super bowl rings for any of those guys as starters.. but anyway.. 3 for 25 yrs isn't great.. hell Marshall had two starters in the NFL..
SB rings don't make great QBs.
You mean Trent Dilfer wasn't a great QB?? I don't believe it.

Jim Kelly was an amazing QB...must be on the chronic.

Miami produces great WR's and RB's, I mean shit they're backfield one year was McGahee, Gore, Portis...

They've had some decent LBs and DBs, too...

Christ watching the Lions and the Bears is like watching a pee wee football game.

Sacks, fumbles, drops, coverage breakdowns blocked field goals.

Man the nfl sucks ass these year.

Expect for my Titans and Pats. At least they are doing well.

I'm so tired of regional games. I would have loved to see Favre break the record, or virtually anything other than Falcons and Texans. It's going to be a crappy TV day.

Argh I'm stuck watching the Packers/Vikings game when they should have showed the Dallas/Rams Game.
