NFL 2007 Season Thread
I have a feeling this might be another chris benoit thread...i.e. we all feel sorry for him, then we find out how shady he was...so we'll see first. i find it hard to believe the girlfriend was in the same room and was unintentionally not touched..
The difference is Sean didn't murder his family.

true...that is why i said almost...the whole story seems trumped up to me..

Yeah I thought the whole thing sounded kinda fishy to begin with. I'm sure we'll see it all unfold shortly. Not saying that he was in the wrong but the killer's intent.
Anyone else think the Ricky Williams injury looked intentional, like the guy stepped on him on purpose?
I thought that as well when I saw the replay. Even my wife said something about it. It looked like the defender stepped on him to keep him from getting to the fumble.

It actually looked like he stepped on him more to be able to get to the football, not necessarily meaning to intentionally hurt him. He was coming in at an angle and needed to go in another direction. Ricky's shoulder was the driest, most stable surface to change direction on.

Look at the replay where Miami is going right to left on the screen and you'll see it too.

If anyone has a link for tonight's game on Sopcast or otherwise, please send me a PM. This game is too good to miss, and I can't go out to a bar.

The anticipation is killing me!

BTW too bad they aren't playing here tonight. The current temp is about 20 and game time should be even colder!

Anyway, GO PACK!

Ahhh same here.

What sucks is I have a meeting tonight so I'll be missing most, if not the whole game!

At least I can record it, but it won't be the same :/

Cheer em' on for me Ninju ;)
Cheer em' on for me Ninju ;)
fuck yeah! I'm meeting some buds at local bar that is known as a big Packer bar. It also happens to be our local watering hole so the owner always reserves us the best spots!

The crazy thing about this game is that both teams are so evenly matched its insane. They both have strengths to counter their weaknesses plus both their records.

Ahhhhh, I wish I could watch it and bring the roof down! Haha

Ninju, have fun at the bar :p
Am I the only CAG who's actually getting this game?
I have NFL Network, but I won't be able to watch it because I need to attend a meeting tonight. That's what I meant.

I get NFL Network too, but my cable provider isn't showing it.

I'll rag on the cable companies as much as anyone else, but this time I think they aren't to blame. The NFL has gotten too greedy.
You can watch the game on the internet through Sopcast or TVU.
And StreamTV. And NFL.com.

Therefore one has PLENTY of options to watch this game.

Whoa Whoa Whoa. There wasn't 12 Dallas Players on the Field. Dallas just got fucked. When Gumble counted 12 he counted a Ref as the 12th player.. That was BS.

Also the announcing is really really bad. They couldn't get anyone better to do this shit?

Decided to take a glimpse of the game and I almost had chest pains til' I caught Ryan Grant run for a TD :D

NFL Network has a funky setup, I didn't know what quarter it was til' I notived the little yellow dots XD

Oh boy, it does look like it's gonna be a close game

It's a bit early in the game, but we can see why Green Bay is losing right now, cuz Favre is losing his head!

Romo's rating is 152.1 and Favre's is..........8.9:fridge:

Good lord....
Packers D-backs are getting killed.
They changed from Man-to-Man to playing Zone, it's basically a gift to Owens...

After losing Woodson, it's like they lost confidence in their Secondary or something...

Apparently he has an elbow injury.

I think it was for the best though, he was killing the Packers single-handedly with his INT's.

Aaron Rodgers is proving that he will be the future QB of the Franchise, hey ChiTown, I think after tonight your suspicion of a possible QB woe for the Packers will be answered ;)

I have this sneaking suspicion the Packers might get back to their old self and start doing what they were doing the past few games.

The last time the Packers got away from their usual schemes they lost to the Bears. I just hope they've gotten back to their senses with that last TD

Ahhhh Halftime, I won't be able to watch the second half, I don't know whether to be grateful or bummed out about that.

Go Pack Go!

37-27 Dallas wins

Favre dug them a hole and had a REALLY bad game ending with him leaving the game due to an elbow injury. They also did not have KGB or Woodson plus they got away from their game most of the time in the first half and played Zone, only god knows why.

The fact that they were able to hang in there and go for the potential win without key players, screwing around with their defensive/offensive schemes, Favre chucking INT's, and allow TO to make plays (Did they not watch the Patriots-Eagles game?!?) while playing on the road does comfort me a little, but a loss is a loss and I'm bummed :/

Packers have the Raiders and the Rams so they'll be able to get back on track, and hopefully Favre can shake it off, but I am worried about that elbow injury and how it might affect his performance later in the season.

I'd have to say great job to Aaron Rodgers for his performance, from what I saw in the highlights, the future does look good for the Packers at the QB spot. I'm impressed since it's his first actual career game where he has played a majority of the game, not to mention it being one of the biggest games of the season.

I'm surprised they allowed Tony Romo to roam free and not get a single sack in, and the secondary seems like it just got worked from beginning to end.

Dallas's Offensive line is pretty good.

Well now, I just found out about McCarthy's call on kicking a Field Goal instead of going for it on 4th and inches. WHAT THE CRAP?!?

Seriously, didn't anyone from the Packers staff watch the Eagles/Patriots game? In order to be dominant and successful, you need to be aggressive and STAY aggressive throughout the whole damn game.

How was Dallas scoring most of the time? Did they go for a lot of 10+ pass plays or was it short drops and have the receiver make a play? It doesn't seem like their running game was too effective by looking at the numbers...

Wish I could've seen what they did to keep the 4-man rush from getting to Romo, they're usually able to at least put consistent pressure.
I didn't get to watch the whole game, so I just went off whatever I saw in the first half, highlights, and what the numbers show me. Also reading up on game summaries and play-by-plays. That's just how much I wanted to watch the whole game.

Hopefully the Pack plays it smart now that they are pretty much locked ito the #2 seed. Favre, Woodson, KGB, & Tauscher should not see the field til they are almost 100%. Last night showed me that they can beat Dallas in Dallas with these guys healthy.

Farve played a little over a quarter and one of his INTs was when he got hit on the elbow. I would not say he had a bad game though because he did not even play a half. Yeah his first INT was a bad decision but that was really all he did wrong. And TO made plays because those two guys you mentioned were not there. Woodson and KGB make a huge difference in how a team can pass on them.

You're crazy? The only reason why it was close was because Rodgers came in and gave it his all and had a heck of a game. Brett Favre cannot beat the Cowboys. What did he finish with 5-14 57 yards and 2 INT's?

Brett Favre is probably one of my favorite players but I tell it how it is.

Also It doesn't matter if Tauscher was/is healthy or not. The pressure was coming from the opposite sides and from the middle. He can't stop everyone ;)

Aaron Rodgers did play extremely well, and Favre can do just as well and even better when he has confidence.

The reason why I said he had a bad game despite how little he played was he looked psyched out. I should retract the REAL bad part of that because the receivers were dropping passes that they should have caught.

The Packers can beat the Cowboys. They got away from their game for most of the first half and had a slow start, allowing the Cowboys to take advantage of it. They played pretty sloppy, especially on TO's td catches and especially Fasano's. They also weren't too disciplined since they had 9 penalties for 143 yards, although from what I hear, the PI call on the 5 yard line was a bit sketchy. The fact that they suffered all that with a couple key players out or not performing up to par all the while playing IN Dallas AND still being able to keep the game close and having the oppourtunity to go for the win shows that they can beat Dallas even when Dallas is on point.

I fully expect McCarthy to get them back on track, but the coaching staff needs to stop with their split personality in these big games and just continually attack as well.

They had trouble getting pressure because Dallas' O line is H-U-G-E! Quick rundown of their size: 6'7" 340, 6'5" 290, 6'8" 315, 6'6" 354, and 6'4" 316. With out KGB, they had real problems getting to Romo until into the 4th Q.

Its too bad the game was lost due to injuries and fuck ed up officiating, and now Cowboys and fans are walking around like they are the cock of the walk. Total BS.

HUGE O-Line means nothing

Detroit Lions:
Height: 6-5 Weight: 305
Height: 6-3 Weight: 350
Height: 6-1 Weight: 295
Height: 6-3 Weight: 325 or Height: 6-4 Weight: 323
Height: 6-5 Weight: 338 or Height: 6-6 Weight: 318
