NFL 2007 Season Thread

Oh and wtf, Inside The NFL is airing its last episode this week :(

After 31 years, it's over and that sucks.
"Sucks" is putting it lightly. I love that show (outside Collinsworth, I can't stand that douchebag).

The NFL will still apparently have a highlights show though:

"Director of Corporate Communications Dan Masonson said the league plans to continue the highlights show next season with another network, although he would not provide specific details." Source

I've got a dollar that says it will be on the NFL Network.

This was the last reason I had HBO. HBO now has one less subscriber as of 20 minutes ago.

Warning anti-HBO rant:
The straw that broke the camels back, after canceling most every decent show they have had (Carnivàle, Deadwood, John from Cincinnati, Lucky Louie and now Inside the NFL) and showing every crappy movie that came out in the last 3 years. Hell this weekend (Saturday Night) the wife and I sat down to watch a movie on HBO; Date Movie was on with Epic Movie next than Norbit after that. We looked at each other and both said WTF?!

I will just rent the last season of Curb when it hits DVD

As long as the Program itself doesn't dissapear, I won't be totally crushed.

Throw it on ESPN and keep the program running the way it always has :D

Well, he had a chance to be a "part of ever" (WTF?) and he blew it!

GO GIANTS!!!!

Anyone watching the Pro Bowl skills competition on NFL network? I missed the first part before the flag football...anyone know what happened? or was it just flag football? the game was pretty sweet.

oh crap i think its last years skills competition...if it is, did they even have one this year?

EDIT:

NOOOO!!! theres no skills competition this year!!!!
Its more exciting than the ProBowl itself!
The ONLY person I feel bad for on the Patriots is Junior Seau, IMHO he deserves a Super Bowl ring
Not I, you see these players go for the easy rings all the time by signing with the obvious choices... like the Yankees in baseball... how about the time Payton and Malone signed up with the Lakers... I like to see that blow up in thier faces

In a case like the late Reggie White, I feel differently, because when he left the eagles to join a winner alot of the Redskins media poked fun of him spurning them for the Packers because the packers werent threats at that time for a ring... a few years later they were the best team in the NFL, and were close to winning 2 in a row if it werent for a very determined John Elway

But the story is that Junior was done until the Patriots sought out him. He didn't beg to sign with them.

EDIT: And Steve Zorn is Washington's new Head Coach. Never heard of him...

The Pats talked him out of retirement. He did officially retire before coming to the Pats, and he only came back this year because he was injured midseason last year.

I'd love to have him back, he was great as a situational guy and stepped up with Bruschi when Colvin got hurt.

After hearing one of the stats that they've thrown out, I'd love to see the Super Bowl Champs against the best in the NFL. It'd definitely make it much more interesting, but most of the time it would probably be unbalanced

i dunno he has another SB run in him..

He'd certainly only be a part time player if he came back, he only played that much this year because of injuries. He still did a great job.

Would love to have him back, but it wouldn't surprise me if he retired, either. Same for Bruschi.

18-1 is Bigger than Billy Buckner.
Worst loss in the history of sports. Brady really didn't win those superbowls, it was vinnateri.

Did you watch the same 3 superbowls the rest of us did?

i guess somebody needs to watch America's game tonight at 8PM and 9PM EST on NFL Network

what people are failing to realize the impact of this goof in Hawaii.. i mean if they find out the Pats have been cheating since the first super bowl.. Belicheck will be banned from football completely... Pats might lose more picks or even something worse.. who know..

Don't know what made me think of this...but heres a nice NFL moment: (Since there really is nothing else to discuss)

Yeah, even Mort said there would be some huge consequences. But it all depends on what this guy really has.

Rules committee is probably going to put headsets in the helmets of defensive players, eliminating signals. Undoubtedly, that's influenced by spygate.
Why does he deserve one? Just because he's been in the league a long time?
I was just thinking about it, I kinda consider him in the same group as Dan Marino is in as guys who should've/deserve a Super Bowl win for all they've accomplished/done in the NFL. Pro Bowls and records don't taste as good if you don't have a Super Bowl to show for it :/

That's just me though, I have some sentiment for NFL Players. The same sentiment goes towards the Raiders who lost in the Super Bowl (Minus Al Davis). It would have been awesome to see some of those guys go out with a Super Bowl win (Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, Rich Gannon, Rod Woodson)
Zach Thomas has just been released by the Dolphins... man is anybody safe on that team?
well, it was expected that he wouldn't be on the team but I am surprised that they couldn't find anyone that would trade for him

How dare you.

Alright folks, the next round of releases just happened.

The Atlanta Falcons have cut Alge Crumpler, Byron Leftwich, Rod Coleman, Wayne Gandy, Lewis Sanders, Jamin Elliot, and Marcus Wilkins. Look for Warrick Dunn and Lawyer Milloy to be the next ones to go if the Falcon's cap room doesn't improve.
