Lol at the delay for Rinne to find the puck in his equipment.
Chicago is one of them teams that are a pain in the ass. When you think you have them they come back like they did in game one against Nashville. They're the leagues little baby that gets what they want I have noticed and the 6 man goal in game 2 shows that. If Chicago would have some how not made playoffs they would have moved from the 14th draft position to the first. If they didn't have any picks the NHL would have found them one. When Weber was said to be out for the games in Chicago I expected this to happen. I see Nashville winning game 5 if he comes back. However I don't expect them to win 6 in Chicago. If they're about to I see the officials doing what Tim Peel has admitted to, and dictate the game play with bad calls against Nashville and lack of calls against Chicago.Preds essentially facing elimination right now. 2-2 going to OT...and Chicago outshot them 12-5 in the 3rd. They're just being outworked. There's definitely something to be said for having been there before.
Nashville just looks lost. All the good things they did the first 3/4 of the season have disappeared. In a way, it would be fitting for them to be eliminated at home in Game 5. Through February 4th, they were 20-2-1 at home. Just seems like they've gassed. Blew their wad too early. So frustrating.
Chicago is doing exactly what they always do... get hot at the right time, and find a random goalie who gets hot and puts the team on their back. See Niemi, Crawford int he beginning and now Darling. The shittiest part is Nashville could easily be up 3-1 in the series. They had a 3-0 lead in game 1 (after the 1st) and a 2-1 lead in Game 4 (after the 2nd). Both games ended up going to double OT or beyond.
A couple bounces or guys stepping up to make plays and Nashville is dominating this series. Things just haven't gone that way and with the injuries to 2 of the 3 captains added to it, it just amounts to shitty luck at the worst time.
The other issue is Scott ing Darling and his 0.94 GAA in this series. He's been ridiculous and the Preds can't seem to figure him out. The worst part about it...basically the only reason he's in the league is because of Rinne getting hurt last season. He was on Nashville's ECHL team... then got brought up to the AHL after Nashville moved goalie's around, and then caught some people's attention.
It's remarkable how the universe is basically aligning for Chicago. They can do no wrong right now.
Now you know how Blues fans feel about playing them. Some how everything seems to fall in place for them, and if it doesn't the officials make it right. Chicago is a good club, I hate to admit that, but damn it seems like the league tries to hand them games at times. The shittiest part is Nashville could easily be up 3-1 in the series. They had a 3-0 lead in game 1 (after the 1st) and a 2-1 lead in Game 4 (after the 2nd). Both games ended up going to double OT or beyond.

Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Brendan Shannon, Coach Quinville, Mike Keenan, Adam Oates, Al MacInnis, Chris Pronger, it doesn't matter... The Blues always act the same ing way once the playoffs start.Yes it does matter. If the players are giving up then you need players that don't give up. Same for the coach. I called for an end to Hitchcock as coach last year because of this. He shows no emotion on the bench. He gets out coached in the playoffs. This year he's not getting out coached but the team isn't into it. Make the right changes and it will pay off.
Whatever his injury was, it must be pretty serious. He isn't the type of player to miss games.Ugh...Chicago has Nashville on the ropes. Feels like the knockout punch is just a matter of time. Preds need to step it up. Do or die time.
Edit - Yep...called it. That sequence was ridiculous. No defense from Nashville. It felt like Chicago was on powerplay for 5 minutes. Always had somebody open. They really missed Weber tonight. Sucks that he couldn't tough it out and play. His team needed him tonight.
Back then it was all bad ownership and run badly. In the inaugural season it was set up so that a 67 club had to make the cup finals. When teams are allowed to keep their best players I'd say that St. Louis was able to draft well out of what was available and make it work. They have good ownership and a good GM that isn't trying to relive his past I think they can do it. I think the ownership, as much as I'm not a fan of Stillman, is a good ownership. The GM if he can forget Dallas and build for the NHL the way it is today can get it done. With the prospects the Blues have a bright future. Provided they get a coach willing to accept them. Hitchcock really doesn't care for young talent and that's also an issue. What about Quinville? He's won it with the Blackhawks since leaving the Blues. (Keenan also won it with the Rangers before coming to the Blues)
They've been doing this kind of stuff since their inaugural season when they got swept in the finals. It's not one player or coach.
I'm with you. Go Flames for the West. After Nashville that was who I wanted to see in the West. Those young guys are playing with so much heart and Hartley has done a great job. As of right now I say he has to be the front runner for coach of the year. Him, Laviolette, Capuano, and Trotz would be my top 4.Yup...what a horrible up the Western Conference became. If not for Calgary, it would be same old garbage teams again. Such a ing disappointment. St. Louis and Nashville battle the entire season for 1st in the Central, just to get bounced by two lower teams in the first round.
I'm 100% rooting for Calgary from this point forward. Gotta love the way Gaudreau plays and at least they stepped up when they needed to.
So, he wouldn't have been back for the rest of the playoffs anyway. Shitty way to end a season.Shea Weber suffered a subluxed kneecap during Game Two of the Nashville Predators playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks. After multiple evaluations, Shea underwent a medical procedure. He is expected to make a full recovery within four to six weeks.
When a player doesn't return in the playoffs, especially a series clincher, you know it was a bad injury. especially for Weber. Finally, the full details of Shea Weber's "lower body injury" that made him miss the final 4+ games of the Chicago series:

I don't hate the Canadiens anywhere near as much as the Red Wings, but go Lightning again! What a hell of a series with Detriot.
Now onto the Habs!!
Yupp, he has the skill to be really good, I just don't get how he can't do it all the time. We waited forever here in Colorado for him to become consistent. Would go through stretches were he was elite, and next thing you know getting scratched, never made sense. For me it's not about hating the Canadians, it's I just can't stand Subban. I really want a Tampa Bay and Calgary/Anaheim series. I really don't want Chicago in the cup finals and I really don't want Minnesota in them. If Chris Stewart wasn't on that damn team I wouldn't mind them going, but the way he has played he doesn't deserve his name on the cup or to even be in a cup finals. The guy only played for St. Louis his contract year and from what I hear he did the same for Colorado before being traded. He's in his contract year now playing for a team that can make the playoffs and maybe even be considered a cup contender. I'm willing to bet the sign him for a stupid amount of money compared to what he's really worth for no less than a 3 year deal with the last 2 him having a no trade clause. He will play really well next season so that they don't trade him before his NTC kicks in and then Minnesota fans will see the same Chris Stewart that other teams have. Hell when Buffalo fans say he was lacking you know something is wrong.
Haha, wow.I thought someone would find this humorous. The Ps4 Tampa Bay lightning theme actually says Tampa Bay Lighting on the font.
I wouldn't say the fans were crying, but more pissed off. Especially after our guys were getting headshot all series long, yet none of those were reviewed. Yet Kronner gets suspended on a play the the DPOS said Kucherov was legal to be hit and ruled it charging despite the fact that by definition wasn't.Jeez, really? Lol
I don't mind the Canadian fans as much as the Detroit fans. When they played at the Joe, every little thing the fans would have an uproar about. At least in this one, the fans are a little more chill. I can't tell you how hard Red Wings fans cried over the Kronwall suspesion. Also, when the Wings played their last game at home (not knowing if they would be back or not), that arena cleared out quick. So sad to see that.
Also, with Kucherov scoring the OT winner and being named first star, he skated out and gave a puck away...mind you, it was an away game! Lol. Gotta love Kuch!
Here's to hoping for an 04 rematch of Calgary and Tampa!
