Ninja Murasaki's Anime Thread

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien is also a fav , it's just a storyline that I won't forget to soon and the ending was pretty bittersweet. I have friend who hates it though because she can't stand the ending :p
Count me in as another one who hates the ending to that show. In fact I ended up hating most of it, other than the first two or three episodes. Mostly because I think Mitsuki (I think that's her name. The blue-haired girl) was possibly the most horrible character I've ever seen. She disgusted me and I wanted nothing more than to see her get shot in the face or something. Hence why I hated the ending so much.

A lot of people have hated her :O, I would browse once in a while and read reviews, and whenever I read a review about Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, there was always someone who wanted her to get run over by a car, shot, killed, beaten the crap out of, etc..
I already forgot everyone's name, but I do remember feeling pretty sad when he and the other girl parted ways, and her sister was sitting in the room reading the book. That was probably one of the few times I have been moved by an anime >.>

I did read somewhere, I believe a magazine like Newtype, that they are basically re-doing the whole series with a whole new plot and outcome, but of course with the same characters. I think it was supposed to start sometime this year, probably around december or something, I forget.

Usually I'm like "Damn! That's pretty fucked up!"

Yea, i believe the KGNE "remix" is gonna be a set of OVAs to come out this year. 2007 should hopefully be a great year for OVA's (Paprika & Saiyuki: Burial being the top two of my "cant wait for" list).

does this mean that now Sasuke knows everything that Oro knew?
Or ... WTF?
Yeah, probably. He's got monster power now, too, probably. This week really stunk for the big three series. Naruto and Bleach were both dumpy and One Piece was AWOL. I have high hopes for Blue Dragon, though. It's won my heart with action in about every chapter and lots of bewbs. I just fear it will be over in under 50 chapters. Keep it going, Japan. Base the next Blue Dragon game on it.

Were you referring to the anime's or the manga's? Probably the manga's (duh), but I'm lovin the Bleach anime more and more with every episode. It's finally gotten serious once again :)

The first of the 12 Kingdoms novels is out. I'm going to pick it up soemtime next week. I loved the anime, so I can't wait to read the books. The only thing that sucks is there's a year wait before the next one!!

I haven't read the recent chapters btw ;O

i dunno about that,
it didnt seem like Oro got new jutsus when he took over any of those guys, that why he wanted the Sharingan. I think it will turn into more of a bleach thing, with the hollow inside him trying to get out, just like Oro

Still, an interesting development. I'm not sure I like it yet, though.

That reminds me, there's a new Naruto Shippuuden episode this week. I don't really like the current every other week schedule that the show has been given.

Ouch. :whistle2:( What is your definition of "good?"

From what i read its goin to take place after the Chunin Finals, and is going to be similar to 3 and 4, like maybe some new characters and environments.
Doesn't sound like it's actually the same game. I don't have a Wii yet, anyway.
Not the same game? How? EX has 14 characters and MVZ will have 14 characters. EX has wii controls, interactive environments, new special animations, and they keep pounding in the "has never featured in the Clash of Ninja game series" for characters which tells me that we're getting EX. I don't see how they can do something with the current Naruto series and only have 14 characters considering their previous releases.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but:

Producer: Yoshinobu Amatsuo
IGN: The Naruto: Clash of Ninja series followed the story arch of the first seasons of the actual show up until now. Will MVZ continue that tradition, or does it branch off from the main plot? If so, which seasons does it follow?

Nobby: The final details of the missions are still being tweaked at the moment, but the game will follow the general overall story from the Naruto TV episodes. We're possibly looking at starting from the Chuunin exam finals and taking it from there.

I don't really care either way, but this whole creating-an-entirely-new-game-out-of-the-pieces-of-other-games thing just sounds like a ripoff if they're only going to have a few characters. I'd hope that the Narutofan douche made that up.

I suppose they could just release GNT3 and 4 here on the Wii, but personally I have no interest in that.

No, I don't see them bringing EX over since we're not even close to the time skip (god help us if we get the filler episodes), but the details that were described described EX completely. It seems like it'll really be a halfassed remake of EX with the focus on the Chuunin Exam and Tsunade arcs and a pitiful roster.
So does anyone other than Guile and Shini watch anything good?
No. So you should probably just leave now.
Not Naruto.
Seriously. I wasn't kidding. If it's not a weekly serial it's not going to get a whole lot of discussion just because of release frequency. You can bring something up and say this is cool and a few people might pick it up, but the animu thread is dominated by shonen series.
but the animu thread is dominated by shonen series.
It's a shame too. It's the gutter trash of anime.

So anyone a fan of Gundam? Specifically UC Gundam. I don't watch AU stuff because it sucks for the most part. Especially Wing and SEED. Pieces of garbage they are. Huge fan of the UC timeline though. Well except for 0083. Kou Uraki=worst pilot ever, even worse than Fa. At least she was just a civlian. He was supposed to be an actual military pilot. Interestingly enough I did actually enjoy G Gundam. Was funny because I hated it for like half the show. Then I realized I was still watching it after 30 episodes, and finally admitted the truth.

Kind of sad I can't go to Anime Boston this year. I usually go every year, but my family is going away at the same time so there's no one to watch the kids. My life-quest for a Chise (Saikano) plushie has been put on hold.

its true, I have tried talking about some Seinen Anime/Manga, and it usually falls to deaf ears.

I watch alot of Gundam (obviously if you couldn't tell by my SN). Zeta and the 08th Ms Team are personal faves, however I disagree with the love for G while bashing SEED and Wing. G, IMO, wasn't even a real Gundam series so much as an average fighting anime series for most of the series, at least Wing was somewhat original at times. SEED was not so original in premise clearly, but wasn't that bad, though I think Destiny (which was like Zeta in a few subtle ways) helped to elevate my opinion of the Cosmic Era timeline as a whole.

actually the last couple are solely about Griffith and the that sheik guy who is an apostle, but the guy is def going to die before he finishes the story

Lmao. Sure, whatever you say.

Zeta is amazing isn't it? It basically took the original and perfected it. Plus it has Haman Karn! I am a bit annoyed about what Tomino did with the new Zeta movies (he changed the ending), but I haven't seen them yet. So I'll wait to be angry until then. 08th MS is great too.

Also while I do think Wing "sucks", I should have explained a bit more. It's more of a relative suck than an outright suck. If Gundam Wing hadn't been a Gundam show it wouldn't have been that bad. It's just when I hear the Gundam name I expect a serious war drama, lots of deaths and everyone loses mentality. GW just gave lots of pretty boys flying around in indestructible mobile suits. I especially liked how one of the gundam pilots would get in a normal suit, like a Leo, and all of a sudden that suit can take like 50 hits with no damage. It was just ridiculous.

I haven't seen SEED Destiny, so I can hope it's better than SEED, ugh.

Now G, as I mentioned, was odd. I honestly can't tell you why I like it since most of the time I hate those types of shows. Not a fan of fighting anime. I think it was probably the love dynamic. Especially between Rain and Domon. I am a sucker for a love story. Which brings me to:
Just finished Kare Kano.
Probably my third favorite show of all time. I cried when the manga ended. Not because it was sad, but because I had to say goodbye. Too bad the show was never finished.
well i tried talked about Gantz
What's that about? A couple people have recommended it to me.
Lmao. Well, I can somewhat see your point but there's numerous other differences too. Like Gundam series, while long, do not make you sit through a whole 20+ episodes of filler back to back and then do it again a half-season later. They do not call out lame super-jutsu moves evertyime they fight (except G Gundam) someone, instead they just go out and kill people. I'll admit for some gundam series can be boring and obnoxious (the whiny characters sometimes get to me as well), but at least there's an on-going, non-circular story that has a foreseeable end wiht some actual character development (at times).

I'm only up to volume 8 of the manga. :/

I'm always looking for any good slice of life series, as I'm a huge fan of the genre. Any you'd recommend?
Gantz is about these people who right before they die, can transfered to this room with a big black ball. The big black ball gives these people a specific enemy to kill, and they get points. If they survive a mission they continue living but transfered back to the room when a new mission is ready.

only like 20 something eps of the Anime, the manga is still going. Manga is much better in my opinion. Very action oriented, but has a good story, and likeable characters.

If you were to spread a Gundam series out to 300 episodes it would be awful. Maybe not attack names bad, but certainly multiple power-ups, characters miraculously living through deaths (though, it's already happened in Seed among others), extra drawn out battles, and hot spring episode after hot spring episode.

It just struck me as odd that "Naruto? That's below my dignity as an anime afficianado" was followed up by "not like Gundam." It's like berating someone for liking Doritos then mentioning you love Cheetos in the same breath.
What's that about? A couple people have recommended it to me.
The manga is decent, but please, avoid the anime like the plague. It's the worst show since MD Geist.
