Well, at least I know this isn't my connection. I just played 4 ranked matches with no problems, save for one d/c, which I caused by beating my opponent 8-1.
 
Pretty sure its a server side problem. I played a few ranks also. Last time i had this problem i couldnt even play ranks and it was fixed after i logged off for a bit.
 
I added mr beef, re added khaos x. If anyone has added me and it is still shown as connecting let me know so I can be sure to add you.

Playing online multiplayer on this with my roommate has been my most fun experience yet on the Wii. If you want it just for the singleplayer stuff and aren't going to use the online, I'd wait for a decent deal on it somewhere, but if you are going to play online, even single player online, it's a lot of fun.

There are no real bests. Waluigi and DK are popular, but any captain is great if used correctly with the right sidekick. Pay attention to stats and try to make a balanced team. An all-speed or all-shooting team will fall to a fairly well-balanced team.

And daroga, man, all of our games are so close. We couldn't get more equal. I'd be up for another set later tonight or tomorrow. :)
 
Wow.

Doing a ranked match I got paired up with someone who had played a TON of games. Like won 430+ lost 100. Then I notice, he's ranked #1.

First game was close to the end, when he poured it on a bit and won 7-4. Second game I played well and won 4-3. Last game he went ahead 3-0, but I tied it before time went out and a minute or so of overtime netted him a 4-3 win. But, wow. I'm amazed I faired as well as I did. They were great games, and he was legitimately good, not cheap.

Its wierd, back then the higher ranked people were the asses who dc on you all the time. Lately ive fought a few high ranks and beat them in some really good games. Then i played this really low rank guy who had 2x more losses than wins. After 5-0 he DC immediately. How do i know? After hitting a perfect megastrike, his cursor wasnt even anywhere near the ball when he dc.

Earlier today I played my 1st (surprised that it took so long considering how many there are) Naruto fanboy...Rock Lee. Firstly his mii looked like rehydrated cat shit. Second of all I annihilated him 11-0. Hmm..Ninja eh? Secret Ninja Art - Suck-at-Strikers Jutsu!!

p.s I do enjoy the show but I dont pretend to be characters from the show...yeah...
 
i've got to practice up again for my next tournament game. i've been playing nothing but metroid these days. i just beat fusion, which i wanted to beat before corruption tomorrow. and i'm definitly going to want to spend some quality time with corruption the next couple of days.

but i'll have to find time for strikers. i'm assuming legendaryhedgehog will be my opponent. this should be touch. (edit) tough.
 
bardiya and js1, please let me know if you can schedule a game in the next day or two; I'd love to be able to get at least the semis done by the end of the week, if not the whole thing.

I work with a guy that has rock lee as his mii. I wonder if it was him?
 
Damn, I suck. Anyone have any pointers? I started the Crystal Cup (I think...it's whatever the second cup is called) and I've lost both my first two matches. Lost 1-0 in the first and then 3-1 in OT. The damn Boos on the other team teleport all over the place (usually past my goalie) and I can barely charge up to white on power shots (?) for my sidekicks, let alone the megastrikes for the captains.

I picked Mario, Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones, and Hammer Bro for my teammates if that's any indication (I hope I got the names right).

I'd been wondering how charging really works. BTW, is there a way to get items on a consistent basis? It seems like I rarely get items now. It seems like I only get the captain abilities when I get hit rather than trying to be pro-active and going out and hitting/making moves on my own.
 
Shooting a charged ball will net you items during a match.

What are your guys' method of playing? I've attempted Crystal Cup several times and have gotten pretty close to the win, but the computer likes to kick my ass when it counts. So far, I've resorted to Toad hopping, but I'd like to pick a less cheap method for when I go online.
 
I go with double Bones and a Birdo. Seems to work out well enough. Bones shocker shot into a lob into the goal is money. I don't really need to explain Birdo, she's mainly a ringer.
 
Steve, for one thing, make sure you're not shooting with Dry Bones, for one thing. Also, you can charge the ball by holding Z for a bit (or is it B? The shooting button) then passing 2-3 of those and I get a white. Lob it to Mario or Hammer Bro and hope for a goal, or pass it to them, then charge for a sec and let go. Ideally, you'll want to charge it up to the blue sparks just before the special shot for max efficiency if you don't get the special shot off.

I use Luigi, Hammer Bro, Shy Guy and Monty Mole, and pass and shoot alot. My ball possession percentage isn't usually that high, because I don't hold the ball for very long.
