Gamespot has their review of NHL 10 up. They gave it an 8.5.

I particularly like this part.

Multiplayer has been spruced up too, at least on the Xbox 360. While all of the modes remain pretty much the same, performance on the Microsoft console appears to be considerably improved. NHL 10 is as smooth as glass in even six-on-six online play with full squads of human players.

8.5 isn't a bad score. They gave Madden 10 a 7.5 and NCAA 10 an 8.0. I think the biggest reason the score wasn't higher was because last year's game was so good (which they gave a 9.0). What constitutes a "good" score seems to change constantly with them, but if you read the review, it's pretty positive, and they do say it's an improvement on last year...albeit a small one.
 
Ok, you can create a team offline with customized jerseys and such, and I wonder if we can try and use those online, doubt it, but someone could try.

hey, I would recommend holding off on purchasing upgrades...

I played the Stars game to showcase my skills to get drafted, I was awarded 3 boosts right away, and I missed getting another one by one draft slot... I was drafted #4 overall by Vancouver... if you get drafted Top 3 you get another...

game is slick as ever...
 
Apparently My 360 is REALLY pissing me the fuck off. It likes to keep freezing on me now. Why am I not surprised? I mean honestly. The game you been wanting to play, and your shit fucks up. Thanks Microsoft you fucking assholes!
 
Just played my first EASHL game with some randoms. We lost 1-0 on a shitty rebound while the goalie sat flat on his ass in the 1st period. It was ridiculous how we outplayed the other team though. We had 26 shots and they had 15...but their AI goalie was better than our AI goalie, apparently. I actually purchased the playmaker boost pack since it was only 240 points...that's like 1.5 Rock Band songs, haha, so I guess I can live with it.

Honestly, I think the hardest thing for me to get used to in this game is the freedom with passing now. Having to aim directly at the guy you want to pass to is tricky when you're skating down the boards with your team coming up behind you. I definitely like the precision passing, it's just going to take some getting used to. Anyway, I'm definitely up for some Sex...Panther hockey tonight. I'll make sure I'm on at 8PM EST.

Also, Sean, I requested to join the club (and I'm sure others have too). So, whenever you see this, let us in! :)

Got it this morning from EB Games, and played a few BAP games, as well as a 1v1 game online. Messed around with some of the option. Loving it so far, stupid work, I knew I should have been "sick" today. It will take some getting used to the passing as it is not as easy as it was last year, you really have to direct it to the player more. I don't know how many times I was in the offensive zone and my d-man passed it out of the zone down the ice. Very excited, I'll be on tonight if you want to get a game going.

That is a great idea, alas I don't get paid till Thursday and the bills are getting paid as we speak. I'll just have to wait for Hockey Boxing Day I guess. I had a bunch of shit I had to get done before my Baltimore trip on Friday, so I'll just try to get them out of the way tonight...

I have decided that I am not buying boost, I will earn them IF they come. I will however attempt to use the Kane boost because I feel as though I "earned" it by pre ordering ;)
 
AttackingMVP and I just played a game and there is still a ton of cross crease passing. We lost 3-0 and that was how they got two of the three. The other was one were the guy went to the corner and then skated out front and the goalie went down so he put it up top,
 
Picked mine up here a bit ago. I have to take a co-worker home, play my Madden league game, do an online quiz for one of my courses for tomorrow, and if there's enough time I'll pop it in tonight.

And what about this Kane Booster from Gamestop? I preordered, was I supposed to get one?

It did that last year too. It's just your player's overall career stats. Last year I had like 438 games played...Gary played about 120 less games than me, and still had more penalty minutes. That's not really relevant to anything this year. I just like putting it out there, haha. :) Hopping on my 360 now. GAME ON!!!
 
Hopefully the servers get better. I only got like Three whole Penalties this year around. But when I play be a pro, I get into fights and it says "+ Good time to spark a fight and get the team started" or it will say "+ Good job protecting your teammates out there"

Don't worry, I'll be getting up there slowly.
 
Tonight was fun. I got to play for a few hours, though we could only play 1 ranked team game while I was there due to the servers. But they appear to be working now, just in time for me to go to bed...

Hey, no problem. Not that we're ever dominant, but I think everybody was a little rusty tonight. I know it took me at least a couple hours to finally start getting the faceoff timing down again, and I didn't score any goals until probably our 4th hour of play started. The new precision passing will also take some time to get used to. We almost won our last game tonight, but the other team got a BS rebound that they just walked right in (they actually had a couple goals like that). We lost 4-3...but I think we played well as a team. It will get better.
 
Hockey Boxing Day for me today. Of course I won't be able to play til after 9, but it will help the day go much faster I hope. I'm probabaly dilusional and it will be the slowest day ever though... :D
