It's OK. The graphics are nice and the new gameplay is nice, but the MyCareer is horrible and Universe is still messed up. Once you win MyCareer's WWE Title, MyCareer ends. I tried setting up the Universe and two times it reset. Its worth $30 at most. I'm disappointed in my self for being so hyped with the MyCareer thinking it would be like NBA and it's nothing like it. Just a hijt, if you actually want to have fueds in mycareer, you HAVE to be a heel.

Seriously, it reminded me of NHL 13. I only kept that game for a couple months, but I remember people doing that in that game because EA claimed "the goalies aren't live anymore". Yet, you could still run into them and knock the puck loose...without getting a goalie interference call a lot of times.

I even see the AI do it a bit in this game. They just crash so hard for the rebound, they'll knock the goalie way out of the crease sometimes. I don't know how EA doesn't realize that if you're going to allow those plays to be possible, penalties have to be super strict. You're basically inviting cheating otherwise.
Yea it's horrible this year with the AI nailing the goalie. A couple weeks ago my goalie got hit so hard he got pushed out of the crease and outside of the trapezoid for a delay of game. I was speechless.

I have a few videos I've been meeaning to post of just ridiculously bad programming. In the same game I had 3 goals get reviewed for a kick. The first two were within minutes of each other in the first. Both had absolutely no kicking motion and were called back. Then I had another where it was an obvious kick and it was allowed.

The other video was in OT where the guy left my RW wide open when he tried to double my center in the right corner. I passed it to Gaborik and skated to center and fired a snap shot top right corner. The shot went high, hit the glass, and bounced off the goalie's back and in.

Holy crap, I originally overlooked this, but I just learned what Tabletop Simulator (http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160) is good for:

Steam Workshop is what makes this game

http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=286160&browsesort=toprated&section=readytouseitems

There's Cards Against Humanity, Uno, Monopoly, Risk, Clue, Sorry!, and a crap-ton of other games.

Also, its has Physics.

Would make for a great Steam night game.

Well, you can play with a deck of cards in that game... I do remember playing speed as a kid.

I'm good with whatever... But I have my doubts on 15 roulette. Might be less frustrating if we don't even try it lmao

I do recall Speed as well. Are there any workshop versions of either of those games? I wouldn't be opposed to going on for a 4 pack if there's enough variety in games to play.

That's actually one of the strengths of that NoLimits2 game also. It has Steam Workshop support, so people have made all kinds of ridiculous shit for it. Somebody even made a complete Lego theme park with a bunch of different rides. I didn't even know that you could walk around freely in the game. But apparently, you can.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5K-x3cdazU

Another crazy roller coaster

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RYkHAN1dRI

Somebody has even recreated the Expedition Everest ride from Disney World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJe9OhUFMIs

And all of this is DK2 compatible now. Geez...I think I just talked myself into buying it. If this doesn't get a bigger discount before the Fall sale is over, I'll have to hit up my favorite Russian, haha. :)

I can always use more TP. I literally shit more frequently than any baby I've ever met.

Someone mentioned rollercoasters?

I just played a HUT game with center locked in. Positively delightful. I literally cackled as I watched my AI score four first-period goals because he kept leaving players open in front of the net.

Nate SRIV is one of the deals today on Steam. $7.49 for the game of the century edition, saw it while I was looking around at a few games.
Yeah, I saw that. I will more than likely bite. Under $10 GOTC is what I've been holding out for.

Papers, Please is also $2.99...which I've also passed on so many times, lol. Damn you Steam sale!

So, "my guy" was able to get me Saints Row IV GOTC, Papers, Please, and NoLimits2 Roller Coaster Simulation for under $20 total. Didn't expect to splurge at the end of the sale...but at least I was able to cut the cost in half.

LMAO...oh, God, yes...

New Youtube sensation. Calling it right now.

That's a good haul for 20, especially considering NoLimits is one of the games.

The Bread game reminds me of Mount your friends. Some of the jumps in that video though... that's like esports caliber skill.

Totally got EA'd last night. Amateur Cup finals game, I was in Division 8 (I did have enough points to get promoted to 7 though, just didn't finish the season yet at the time). Got matched up with a team that was in Division 2. Bye bye 1K Cup bonus :(

Yeah, I was pretty happy to get all that for under $20. I've ridden some of the roller coasters and downloaded stuff in NoLimits2, and it's pretty awesome. All of the tracks were very smooth with a great framerate other than that Expedition Everest track. Not sure if that one just has too much going on or what, but I was getting some screen judder. Overall, the DK2 implementation is great though.

I also played Papers, Please a bit. I can definitely see how it can be addictive. I've read stuff about people talking about the moral ambiguity of allowing people through just because they have sob stories. But man, if I've got a wife, kid, and other family to support...and my pay could be docked for violating policies, eff that nonsense. Rules are rules, lol.

As for HUT, I stopped bothering with the playoffs for that same reason. It doesn't even matter what division you're in. You can just pick which cup you want to try for (well, anything below the division you're currently in). So, yeah...that means you get Division 2 teams going for "easy pickings" of the lower ranked people.

I guess depending on how much faith you have in the matchmaking actually only putting you against people competing for the same cup as you, you could just pick the highest cup you qualify for (ie. largest reward) and just see who you get matched up with. It would be pretty hilarious to enter the Pro or Elite tournament and get matched up with a division 9 team or something.

I'm glad Nate responded first, because when I read your post I thought you meant you were playing for the Division 7 title in which case I was going to say you really got EA'd. As for the playoffs, for the most part I really don't even try for them anymore. Once in awhile I'll give them a run if i need the quick extra coin bonus (assuming I win) if they have a good player pack deal and I'm close on points... Speaking of which. Check out this bullshittery.

Thanksgiving-Friday they had the 60k puck Player Premium Pack for 12 Gold/ 12 Rare. I had been saving up coins for awhile and been waiting for them, so I was up to 180k +. I went ahead and bought 3 of them right off the bat. Of the three I got a Bouwmeester which I already had, a few 86s (Lupul and Wisniewski I think), and a Turris 87 OVR. The rest were all duplicates or Free Agents. Went ahead and quick sold all of the free agents and sold the other nearly 30 cards for 800-1000 a piece. By Friday night I had made enough on those, the other 4, and playing some games for another pack... Again, not shit. I think of the 4 packs I ended up with 2 Krugs, 2 or 3 Neils, and 2 Wierochs (sp?) from Ottawa. Now for the fun part... I then switch over to my brother's account since it is still getting the Ultimate Team packs from when I put the code in on my account (in addition to my 1st and 2nd accounts getting them) and the very first pack I open I get a Letang Movember. Well fuck you EA. So another words, earn the coins and don't get shit... Buy your team.

On a Movember note... I can't help but laugh at the outrageous prices the cards go for... Apparently people think "Oh... special card means better player." I got the St. Louis one last week... His ratings are the exact same as the standard, yet it sells for 40k more minimum. Derp.

Yeah, basically card packs and collection rewards are entirely pointless. Well, coin packs anyway. Some of the teams I've seen are so ridiculous, I'm sure if you spend enough real money, you can have all the best players (people with Hossa, Datsyuk, Perry, Kesler, etc. make me want to stab somebody). But I'm content just boosting my players up to 96+, using the conservative/weak side lock/1-4/protect net settings, and position locking.

I played the ultimate asshole last night though. He had a superstar team, a 99 boosted Robin Lehner in net, and he was STILL going for the "cut to the slot, shoot wrister" crap every single time into the zone. My AI wasn't defending it worth shit in this game either and he was really "good" at doing it to the point where he was doing it with freaking Niklas Kronwall. After he went up 4-0 in the 2nd period on 13 shots, I just put my controller down and walked away.

I messaged him about it, but never got a response. I'm sure he gets plenty of fan mail though. My favorite thing is when people say "It's just a game bro. Chill." Exactly...it's just a game...that you feel so threatened by the chance of losing that you ridiculously load up your team and cheat to win at. Makes sense.

Huh, didn't realize that's how the Playoffs worked. Thats really dumb that you can participate in a lower tree :dunce:

I perused the EA forums earlier today, and I saw that some guy dropped $160 on that Promo pack MVP ius talking about, and her was complaining that he didn't get anything special.

:wall:

Yeah...they're basically preying on people's addiction to gambling. I guess some might just be rich as hell and $160 is like $2 to them. But still...it's a pretty disgusting practice. Pay to win at its worst.

Holy crap, Steam just added broadcasting to their beta. It's like twitch, but you can chose to broadcast to friends only, people can request to watch you, and you can't save broadcasts.

Aaaaaannndd because it's the Internet, people have already found a way to stream porn with it
Steam Streaming Twitch Porn? I'm in.

Also, Groupees started a Meridian 4 10th Anniversary bundle today. It's 45 Steam games for $1. I have most of these, but I'm still even considering dropping a buck on it for the few I don't have. Oh, and it's going to have two bonuses too. So, 47 games for $1...just over $0.02 per game. Unreal.

So, that TheHunter game is apparently adding a standalone DLC (allegedly, it's a set price and not a subscription like the main game) where you actually hunt dinosaurs.

I know we have games like Dino D Day and that Orion game with dinosaurs, but this should have the actual Hunter mechanics (which are great), combined with taking down these ridiculous beasts. I can't imagine how awesome this could be. The main game does have multiplayer too. So, it would be pretty incredible if this did. It's supposed to be out in a few weeks too. I am excite.

EDIT - Just found confirmation that it will have multiplayer. And one of the devs said this in an interview (translated from Swedish..which ironically, reads like slidecage wrote it, lol)

It's a really fun idea, this is to be placed in a big world where you have weapons and are a hunter, but which simultaneously is the hunted. You can play alone, but you can not defeat all the dinosaurs itself. To cope with a T-Rex needed enough that you're least three anyway, says Pim Holfve.

So I got bored.....

On the page, each game is listed at 1GB. I know they're probably rounding, but lets just say its 1 gig. The SSD you bougt from Newegg was $100 for 250 GB. That's $0.40 per gig. If you buy that bundle, you get 47 games. 47 games, times 0.40 per gig...is $18.80.

Not really sure where I was going with that, or what my point is...but I thought those numbers were interesting to consider. Also, you can take it one step further and figure out with your bandwidth limit, how much each game costs to download.

Sounds like Evolve. But with Dinosaurs.

Alan and my self played two games. I lost both by 2 goals. Fun games though. We also came up with the "Integrity" Rule set. If you feel it should have been a penalty, get a Delay of Game penalty. Worked well.

Yeah, but Evolve relies on another human being the monster...which means it's only going to be as good as the cheesy tactics people use in online play. TheHunter actually has really awesome mechanics and animal behavior. If you're not walking super slow and staying in cover, they'll hear, see, or even smell you before you ever see them, and you'll feel like you're in an empty map. Sometimes, you have to actually just sit there and wait. Some might find that boring. But it is actually hunting.

They haven't dealt with a lot of predatory animals yet (they have bears and foxes...but I'm not sure that they will ever attack). I think this game is going to be a test for them in having the prey also be predators because everyone has been asking for an African hunting reserve to hunt lions and stuff.

Also, I didn't realize the devs that made TheHunter are the same ones who made Just Cause. So, they've got some pretty solid credentials. At least for me, legitimately hunting dinosaurs...as opposed to just an action shooter/Turok-y kind of game sounds really fun.

Integrity. I like it. Penalties are so random in the game...especially goalie interference. Sometimes they'll call phantom shit where he doesn't even flinch. Other times, you can railroad the fuck out of him and the refs are like "looks clean!".

Ha ha, South Park had a Twitch episode, another good one.
Yeah, I heard pewdiepie from Youtube was actually in it as well. I'll have to catch up on SP again tomorrow.

I Am Bread is now out on Steam as well. $9.99 MSRP...currently at the intro 15% price of $8.49. I'll wait for a price drop/bundle deal, but surprisingly, the game is getting really good reviews. It was made by the same people who made Surgeon Simulator...which I guess makes sense when you consider the control scheme.

I've scored some decent goals over the years in NHL (faceoff shot, flip out of the zone that the goalie misplayed, etc)...but I just scored one tonight that might beat them all just because of the timing. I can't believe I didn't somehow get screwed out of this. I'm basically in shock, haha.

Nice, from your end of the ice to a goal in 8 seconds.
Yeah, and beeping the entire way, haha. The turnover in his zone to give him a breakaway pissed me off too. I thought I had a decent set up there and the AI totally misplayed it. That's the sad thing about position lock. They're still not incredibly smart. And there will still be plays they just don't see. I couldn't believe the LD (who is actually my RD...but I guess they switched) just came barreling into the zone like that.

But at least the other d-man tried to do something. Had I not been position locked, he probably would have stood on his point, then by the time I got switched into him, the guy would have been long gone anyway.

Nice to see EA still doesn't know how to call a penalty correctly.  Guy tries to hip check me late and falls down so I got called for interference.

So....EA UFC released their free "legends" content update. It includes 4 fighters. Matt Hughes, Mark Coleman....and Brock Lesnar and Rampage Jackson. What...the...legends. I was seriously expecting better. I know Randy Couture would have been a longshot. But Lesnar and Rampage as legends is really being generous.

Of course, it's making people speculate that both are returning to the UFC. Rampage seems more likely...though I don't know why he would. Unless the Bellator paydays just aren't what he thought they were going to be. I seriously doubt he'd be very competitive. And Brock...well, Brock would get murdered by most guys not named Frank Mir.

So, NHL 15 OTP tonight? Alan seemed to "crack the code" last week with getting all of us in the same room. I was surprised at how well that actually worked.

I had some amazing pack luck last night. Opened up my first Ultimate Team edition pack to find a Kessel. Then turned around and dropped 7k on the last 11 cards I needed for the Toronto collection (10 gold packs). Opened the second reward pack to find a Kesler.

Nice, I've seen him go for a lot of pucks. I might start going for collections in the near future. Besides teams like the Penguins and Hawks, is the work:benefit ratio worth it for teams like Sabres, Panthers, Coyotes, etc? Or even mid tier teams like the Leafs.

Even three was difficult though. I like 4-5 hours of trying...I think we played 4 games at most. Sometimes the matchmaking felt regional, sometimes it felt completely random, and sometimes it didn't work at all. It's mostly what I said the first day or two after OTP was released. It's "neat", but between actually getting into a room with friends or having some random douche on your team who won't play right, it's kind of a big waste of time.

There was one game where by the time I finally got into a room with Alan and Brandon, their team was full...and no matter what horrible European team they picked, people wouldn't quit. So, I ended up playing on the other team and just took penalties any time my team was about to score, lol.

Then we had another game where we were all on the same team...but we had a RD who wouldn't play defense and was leading the offensive charge. He'd be offside all the time, call the puck out from the goalie, etc. So, we started going offside when he had the puck and diving in front of him to trip him to send a message. Somehow, we still ended up winning 2-1 in spite of that guy.

Even in matchmaking, all it is is the same people joining and quitting lobbies over and over again because everybody is trying to do the exact same thing we're doing. It's stupid when you think about it. Alan highlighted it by saying we need like a giant group chat where groups can organize and be like "ok, it's your turn to search for a game now". As it is, everybody is trying to avoid each other and just find their damn friends. "Invite to Game" would solve so much. But you know, it's not like EA has the resources (or all that HUT money) to get it figured out.

The Flames is the easiest. I'm in the process of doing it, you can get most of their players for under 1,000 pucks. I'm down to 14 items needed, including jerseys. I'll probably finish it later this week. The yield is five gold packs, which means I'll get shit. When I'm done, I can trade it to you if you want.

Cool, thanks, that sounds good. I can even pitch in some players if you want, just let me know who you need.
