Is the Survivor Series match 4 vs 4 or 5 vs 5?

If it's 4 vs 4: Cena, Ziggler, Ambrose, Ryback vs. Rollins, Kane, Wyatt, Cesaro is a no brainer at this point.

Otherwise, add in Big Show vs. Mark Henry (sigh).

Opening segment killed a bunch of time. HHH yells about EVERYTHING BEING ON THE LINE AT SURVIVOR SERIES. So...what title matches are on that show? And HHH is God now in addition to being the King of Kings. He's making Jeff Jarrett's inferiority complex seem minor. Seth-Swagger was okay. Loved Paige-Alicia putting Paige over huge in her home country. STEPH HAS SCRATCHED AND CLAWED HER WAY TO THE TOP! SHE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO ADVANTAGES OVER ANYONE! Wacky US Title celebration was fun until Sheamus got involved. Loved their match. Sheamus was caked in sweat afterwards and they had a great fisticuff-heavy bout. Sheamus losing via goofy countout sucked, but he sold it so perfectly. Dude just looked so devastated and the sweat sold it even more.

MizSwoggle ruled. Tag match was fine. Dolph-Henry was fine. AJ-Brie was a thing until Nikki stole the spotlight from Brie and nailed a perfect Rack Attack on AJ. I loved Ryback growing more and more annoyed by the Authority sucking up/insulting him as the show went on. Rose-Kidd was a thing. Not really a match though. Loved Tyson having to physically force Rose to stop moving so goddamn much so he could do the sharpshooter. WWE NETWORK IS FREE FREE FREE! fuck. Right. Off. After a century of filler, the main event was an okay match, but never great. Harper joining Team Authority was done poorly, but I'm glad to see he, Ryback, and Dolph back in a prominent position.

As I've said all along, if the gameplay is improved I can stomach fewer modes and creative options.  It's the first year with the new consoles, get the in ring action right and then add modes and options in future years.  This video looked really nice and has me pumped again for next Tuesday.

The main event was fantastic, and like the first two weeks, the narrative is easy to follow and shockingly compelling for a wrestling show. WWE being dull as dishwater really helps this show stand out, and with the possible demise of TNA, future seasons could really see a huge upswing in talent - or at least open up a bidding war for the guys.

Impact thoughts -

Davey started the show looking either conflicted or constipated. He's not a man, he's not a shark, HE'S A WOLF! He's also a moron, as is Eddie. They lost to The Revolution as Storm revealed that his cast is the Feast or Fired case, and he wanted Davey to join to get the titles, but he'll settle for jumping them to win. Wolves came off as complete jobbers here, while Storm is devious and the commentary work was excellent to tie all of the loose ends together so it all made sense. Before this, none of this really made sense, but now it does - so yay for the narrative working on the second to last Impact.

Manik and Shera have fantastic chemistry. The King-Anderson-Melendez thing sucked, largely due to King and Anderson being annoying. Taryn-Madison was fine fanservice - ditto the Menagerie vs. BPs/BroMans match. Joe's promo was excellent and really made the X Title seem like a huge deal again. Loved Bram's goofy promo too - the Tommy song was something else. Gunner-Shaw was fine, and Shaw takes a hell of an F5 bump. NOW PLEASE LET THAT BE THE END OF THIS FEUD! Lashley-Aries II was even better than their first match. The flurry of suplexes was right out of Cena-Lesnar, but I loved it. Aries took some amazing bumps here, and the double countout finish worked to set Lashley up as a killer who wasn't just out to win. He wanted to maim - he's got his shot guaranteed and is just out to send a message. Very good show overall.

Fair point, I didn't realize the last gen versions looked that bad. I suppose in comparison the current gen versions are certainly an upgrade. Still, I don't think those graphics are anything to celebrate.

It doesn't. Whoever captured that footage used shit settings and it's 360p, so anything is gonna look like that recorded on a potato, plus there's nothing in that footage that makes me believe that isn't the PS3 footage tagged as PS4 to get some cheap viral hits.

 
Of course it's PS4 footage. He was joking. But yeah, when you capture something in HD then display it in 360p or whatever, it's gonna look like butt.
 
Devitt's snake-man mannerisms are going to look cool when he's all painted up. 

Sasha's probably working her way into the doghouse with the complaints about how stiff she is and calling Charlotte  Ashley during her promo tonight. 

Hopefully not though...especially since nobody ever seemed to complain about Alicia Fox nearly axe kicking everyone to death.

I didn't even notice the Ashley thing, and that actually works as an insult - if it bothered WWE, they'd have done some ADR for it. They did that for something far less when they redid a whole match's commentary to take out "Antonio" when they nixed that name.

I got to say that I don't trust Yukes to make a game that I want to play anymore. Every year for the past three years there's been a gimmick attached to get me to buy their games (Attitude Era, 30 Years of Wrestlemania) and every time I do I find myself hating myself for falling for it. The games are flat out boring to me and in about a months time I will have usually sold them off. This time I am going to wait a month or two for prices to come down and buy it used. If I hate it at least I can resell it and I won't lose much more than the cost of a rental.

Redbox only carries them in select markets. I live in the OKC area and they were once listed in the local kiosks for about a week (but never available), then removed entirely. However, where I used to live in po-dunk hickville PA, the next gen stuff is widely available.

Opinions on 2K15 seem mixed. Is anyone actually picking it up on launch day?

I'll be waiting for a price drop but I've done that for the past few games. They're totally worth the $10-20 I've paid for them.

Nope. None of the news coming out of the game gives me any hope that it will be much better than the last gen version. I will eventually buy it but I will wait for it to drop in price first. With so many other good games coming out Tuesday, I dont see any reason to bother with this right away. Also, the lack of reviews for it makes me nervous. Maybe reviews will be allowed this weekend.
