Man, if we get Okami for Plus, I'm definitely high fiving myself.
Right there with you. I would love this or VLR. Hopefully we get both eventually, if not this month.

Okami would be a perfect match for the vita and I hope they port it. Extremely long game, fun, and touch gestures. Maybe someday... It certainly survived its initial low sales release, which is great because it's so good. I only got halfway through it but I'd buy it for vita in a heartbeat.

And I love hints. I like guessing and hoping, and I can handle not always getting what I want. That disgae vita srpg hint made my 3 days waiting for confirmation.

Adding my voice to all those thanking Frisky for his hard work keeping us updated on the deals every week. I didn't have a PS3 until last autumn, but following this thread has helped me build a good library of games while on a budget. Also adding my voice to the "Okami PS+" wish list.

Ooo... new thread....
*unwraps cellophane and peels security stickers off the case*
...
*INHALE* :whee:
Not saying they should either. Just saying that hints can get people excited for things and ultimately result in people being disappointed in what we get. This is QUITE similar to the problem US has with EU. People see what EU is getting and their expectations are on that level, which the US rarely lives up to. At least with no hints I am not setting myself up for fail.
The only problem with the Tekken 6 hint was that it was too vague since it was basically 'It's a fighting game", so it could've been anything. Then people said it had to be DOA5 because that's what EU PS+ was getting, so both of those issues got rolled up into one. The onus is still on the audience because it was too vague to really hint at any one specific game. The smart guessers recognized that and didn't really put their eggs into one basket.

The other three hints were pretty much perfect so that they could be figured out with a little work but still vague enough that some people had their doubts.

Alright I'm done for the month...ended up skipping R&C:FFA and grabbed Machinarium for Vita and the Bioshock season pass. I wouldn't normally get a season pass, after I was let down with Borderlands 2 and their worthless DLC. Hopefully Irrational don't let me down!

Also, ended up spending $101, so didn't even have to go that far over the mark for $20 back. Woot!
@FriskyTanuki:

Big question I want to purchase games that have been de-listed, I know that one option is if you have a code of that said game, since I know someone that had a game voucher, and after that said game was de-listed, and because the voucher wasn't redeemed, it still added to his account.

Now the games I would want are:
R-types and R-type Delta.

I know that Irem de-listed that from JP and US stores and spelunker black etc, has anyone you know in here asked for someone on the store to reintroduce something de-listed to their account and then remove the appropriate money, because as may know de-listed items are tied to your account, and still into sony servers to being able to download.

The last option I could think of doing something like this, would be to contact gamestop to ask them to purchase 2 codes of de-listed games, do you think that this would be possible , do you have a contact number, so that I contact them?
They won't and more importantly can't help you. While I don't know why EVERY game was delisted, I can tell you some like Irem's Spelunker Black was delisted (same with Minna de Spelunker btw) because Tozai Game's acquired the rights to Spelunker in Japan. Irem has no legal rights to said content, so Sony wouldn't have anyone to give the money to and pocketing it would be illegal (since Sony would be selling other peoples IP's). So the item will remain delisted till someone relists it, it becomes something new (Spelunker HD Tozai Games Edition) or whatever issue surrounding it is resolved.

But sony should have removed the games from their ps3 website as part of the sony ps1 collection, what's their contact I'll try to contact them anyway, I don't care

Regarding gamestop, you can buy any codes you want from gamestop from their selection of psn games and ps1 classics like spyro, etc , so I just need their contact in order to ask them also, it doesn't hurt making them a call.

Regarding Spelunker Black was only released in Japan, so of course I wouldn't want to be talking with Japan, I'd rather ask in America, there is still one r-type game published by Atlus, but that's for PSP.
I'd love it too! However if you think you'd be able to play it right away, just get an EU trial and dlownload it. That's what I'll be doing if we don't end up getting it.
Eh, I'm too lazy for that.

Does the $10 (loyal customer) credit count towards the Spend $50 get $10 back?

I don't see why it wouldn't just wanted to make sure since I'm close to the $50 mark.

I used mine to get to my $50. So only out of pocket $40 now. As long as the money was spent from your Sony wallet your ok. This was a great promotion.

I never get these videos? Are they usually jokes? Or are the people that make them just stupid and awful at games?
I never get these videos? Are they usually jokes? Or are the people that make them just stupid and awful at games?
Michael has a short temper, so the entire video is about him playing bad or hard games and recording him yelling at them throughout. He's not stupid or anything. It's a gimmick he plays up for the show. If you watch his own personal Let's Plays or the Let's Plays he does with the other Achievement Hunter guys, he's fine enough at games to get through them and do well with the games he really enjoys.

Haha, the only ones I watch are made by one guy and sometimes you can tell he's overdramatizin it. The best ones are the ones that you can tell he's really getting pissed.

Thanks for all the OPs Frisky. I love the preview vids for current offerings. One quick suggestion - can you label each one? I have no idea which game each video goes to.

Also, for everyone who posts just to "tag" the thread or subscribe - check out the links at the top of the posts (below the paging). Thread Tools > Subscribe to this Thread.

I see. Thanks. Like you say gettinmoney, usually these kind of rage quit videos seem extremely overdramatized to me, that's why they never do much for me.

Entirely unrelated, Knytt Underground is really amazing so far. It's going to scratch my exploration itch for a long time to come. I'm not too far into the 3rd chapter yet, but I can't wait to play more.

Sup guys just one quick question since I feel this is the thread where I can get the best input when it comes to psn and ps3 stuff in general. I am being tempted to buy Valkyria Chronicles, but with the backlog I don't know if I should jump. Does anybody happen to know what's the lowest it has been?

I always seen it under $20. I got mines from Newegg on sale for $16.99 a few months ago. Amazon has it brand new for $17.24(prime/FSS). Newegg has it now for $15.99 but it's out of stock.

Its a worthy addition to the backlog for sure. I never had time to finish it but what I played was excellent.

Sorry for the rant but I've been a PS Plus member for 2 years and have bought lots of PSN stuff since I got the PS3 in July 07 and I didn't get either of these free credits everyone else seemed to get.

So I didn't renew my Plus (it expires at the end of 2013) and I stopped spending money on PSN (helps when they don't put things on sale I want.)

If I had gotten either of those credits there's tons of things waiting to be bought (FF 3 PSP, Okami HD, Castlevania LoS DLC, Legend of Heroes PSP, Neutopia from the TG 16 section of the store) but now Sony has jaded me and I'll just wait and see if I get a PSN card for Christmas.

Great job as always with the thread Frisky, sorry my attitude at Sony dominated this post.

Just remember a shoulder is the best tissue!

So I have a question. Europe PSN has Tomb Raider for 20 pounds which would come out to about $30.

Is there any way to get a Europe PSN card in America?

Also thanks for the threads Frisky, you are the man.
U cannot play the DLC till u finish the story.

^Like you, I've found it extremely difficult to make EU deals work out for me here in the US. Getting the exact right amount you need at a fair price just isn't feasible most of the time.

Do the XSeed PSN games ever go on sale?

I was thinking I would go ahead and make an order of about $50 worth of games I want that are unlikely to go on sale anytime soon. I was primarily looking at Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (PS3 / PS Vita), The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP), Ys I & II Chronicles (PSP), Ys: The Oath in Felghana (PSP), and Ys Seven (PSP). Any thoughts from people who have played these games would be appreciated.

Nothing I really want on sale. I was tempted by the Red Faction games but I know I'm not going to play them so no use in wasting money. I'm just going to get Harvest Moon: Back to Nature to play on my Vita and a couple of Tales of Grace f dlc to round out to $10. The Persona sale, PS+ deal, and GTA: San Andreas makes everything a little over $100 :bouncy:. I've been into a lot of PSP and PS1 Classics lately.

Trails in the Sky is an excellent game. Combat is turn-based but quick, primarily about maximizing turn order. It is very anti-grind (you get almost no exp from enemies below your level). The story and characters are great, though some of the characters might grate if you don't like anime. Good length, tons of content.

Ys Seven is very much an action RPG. Super long boss battles, dungeon crawls (but they don't feel like dungeons). You can switch between three characters in combat on the fly which makes it fun. Story and characters aren't as prominent as Trails. In the end, you have to like the combat to like the game.
Just remember a shoulder is the best tissue!
Yeah I deserve a bit of that but they put out 2 credits and I didn't get either and some got both. When I've been a PS3 owner since the first year and people just now buying PS3 are getting the credit I'm a little pissed about it.

Also it helps that US PS Plus has laid an egg compared to European PS Plus in the last few months.

All of those games had a price drop last year to their current price so they won't go lower.

I have not played Legend of Heroes yet, but I consider Ys Seven to be on the Mt. Rushmore of PSP games with Peace Walker, Syphon Filter, & Persona 3 Portable.

With your list I would rank:

Ys Seven
Legend of Heroes
Persona 2
Ys Oath
Ys I & II

In your opinion.
