I've got My-Hime still sitting in the box it was delivered in. I have to crack that series open. I got both the vol 1 and vol 7 Special Editions, so I have two boxes... not sure what I'll do with them.

Is My-Otome more of the same, better or worse?

You guys really should watch My-HiME, it's very underrated.

As for My-Otome, i'm STILL (2 MONTHS LATER) waiting for it to come in stock (still on order from manufacturer), so i can't comment on that yet.

Also, i think something's going on with Eureka Seven, maybe something's coming in. I've only gotten vol 5 and 6 so far, but they just emailed me saying my credit card was declined (xD), so if they're trying to charge me, it must've come in stock. I just don't know which volumes, they all still say on order from manufacturer

UPDATE: And another email from a different order that has Eureka Seven Vol 7 SE

My-Otome is pretty solid IMO, if you enjoyed My-HiMe like me, you'll probably like My-Otome too. There are some similarities, but enough differences to hold its own.

Only Eureka Seven DVD I've gotten is volume 12, 9-10 shipped a few days ago for me. I also have a pending charge on my card which should be volumes 7 and 11, which are the last two volumes I'm waiting on.

Is the box that comes with Vol. 1 Special Edition big enough to hold the entire series?

If I do end up buying it (depends if it gets any better or not), I'd probably get that, rather than vol. 7 special edition. Just looks too girly for me, heh.

I'll have to check when I get home, but I imagine so. I don't know why they would package in a box without fully knowing it would contain the entire series.
My fiance didn't like My-Hime, but loves Mai-Otome. He said there's too much fanservicey bullshit in My-Hime.
I thought someone said earlier that Mai-Otome had too much fanservicey bullshit when compared to My-Hime.

The box that comes with the first volume is a flimsy, ugly thing, but yes, it holds the entire series. Skip the first box and get the one that comes with volume 7 instead.

Eureka Seven Vol. 2 is FINALLY back in stock.

I called to add it to my order, but of course "it just shipped out this morning." WTF.
Ended up costing me $6 shipped... still not a horrible deal. Just annoying.

@Kirin Lemon: Okay, good to know. Thanks!

Basically with My-Hime the fans complained about the box with volume 1 so they delayed the release of volume 7 a month or two to re-do the box. The result was the awesome diarama box which they used for Otome as well which I love. As far as boxes go its really awesome and it fits PERFECTLY in the bottom section of my shelf which is just big enough to hold both Hime/Otome. As Kirin said both fit the entire series while volume 1 also comes with an unremarkable T-shirt and a crappy box.

Also Mai-Otome is FAR more fanservicy then My-Hime so your girlfriend either has the shows mixed up or is a bit odd. Of the 2 series most people rate My-Hime better, especially once you've hit the halfway point and the series takes a dramatic turn.

My-Hime is one of those shows that just gets better and better the more you watch.

They do that on purpose.

At least you didn't order a manga on March 2, and it is still "On Order from Manufacturer" today May 12, like I did.

What is the longest any of you waited for something from Rightstuf. Bear in mind that I ordered Your and My Secret 4, which in a fairly new release from Tokyopop.

My-Otome Volume 4 is still On Order from Manufacturer today, ordered it March 21st.

You win (or lose, depending on how you loo kat it xD), but it's not over yet.

I snagged a preorder for Romeo x Juliet last night while the Funi sale was still going. Added ROD OVA soundtrack and Viewtiful Joe DVD/CD combo to pop the total up for free shipping.

Good stuff!
I just ordered all 12 volumes of Eureka Seven on DVD today....Hope I get them this month
Yeah, now that Eureka Vol. 2 is back in stock I placed my order for all twelve volumes. I ended up getting the special editions for whichever volumes had a special edition.

Aren't you buying a house? :p

I have it pre-ordered too, except my "filler" was the Kanon series ;).

Pumpkin Scissors vol. 6... but that wasn't their fault.

I can't recall ever having an in-stock item take more than a few days to ship, or a preorder item that didn't head out just after release. Anything with a lengthy wait has had a good reason- a popular sale, something that's long out of print so they have to wait for another wherehouse to ship it in, or what have you.

The most annoying thing I ever had happen was when my order for the second Ranma movie was cancelled becuase it was 'out of print and not coming back into stock'... when what really happened was Viz switched up the print run. The time in-between the 2 runs was so short, the movie never came off the website... but I still lost my sale price. I think I bought that one somewhere else.
What do you guys think of Trinity Blood? The whole box set is only $30...
I started it and it was very meh. I only saw the first few eps and each is a self contained ep. I really had no desire to go back and continue it. It had a nice premise, not that original but still nice, it was the execution that was bad. Too silly at times, very predictable, and it couldn't keep my attention.
What do you guys think of Trinity Blood? The whole box set is only $30...
I've heard it's decent, nothing great, and can be boring at times, but others love it. I would say wait a little longer, as it's bound to hit $20 eventually with the Viridian Collection just released and cheap. I'll probably pick it up at $20 too. For now, put your money to better use (like FullMetal Alchemist xD).
What do you guys think of Trinity Blood? The whole box set is only $30...
Dreadfully boring. I wouldn't even pay half that.

Well I ordered all 12 volumes of Eureka Seven on Tues and I got my shipping confirmation today (Thurs) for volumes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 11.

That wasn't that bad at all. However for my birthday my brother had ordered me 20 volumes of the Negima! magna....And the shipped volumes 2 - 20 to me right way....I had to wait 2 freaking weeks to get volume 1. That was painful.
WTF, mine still says Contact Customer Service (which i did....twice...)
Did you email or call? I HIGHLY reccomend calling. You may need to verify your billing info- I had that happen once, accidentally entered the expiration on my card wrong so it wouldn't process the payment for 'em. Once I fixed it the order shipped right out.

The strange thing though is that i had Eureka 7 SE in a separate order (i forgot to get in the first time), and that used the same CC info, and it processed and shipped out today.

Wow so today I check my bank account and notice TRSI charged me the entire $92 for E7 ..this is the first time they've ever shipped an entire order .. EVER.

Hell I'm still waiting for a manga volume from 3 months ago.

Problem solved. Email:

Hello Matt,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately when you called in on Tuesday to update your card, we did not set
it up to be reprocessed.

I can submit your order to be reprocessed and we will reprocess your order for
you within the next 24 - 48 hours.

I just need to verify the last 4 digits of the credit card you want to use and
the expiration date.

I apologize for the inconvenience and if you have any questions or concerns
please let me know.

Thank you,
Jake H.

Del Rey sale today. I want to pick up the last couple volumes of Tsubasa and xxxHolic plus pick up all of Shugo Chara, but I've spent fat too much recently.

Good call. I've seen the first 17 episodes now. I started liking it about episode 7 or 8, and it got a ton better about halfway through. Definitely a good series. Just a slow start, I guess.

What I didn't like about it was that they just throw you into the action at the beginning without explaining too much. It's just like, WTH is going on here? It would have been nice if they started out with some kind of backstory. I guess once you're into it, that doesn't really matter though.

I kinda like that. You go thru most of the series learning piece by piece what a Hime is and what it means.

Yeah, it's a different approach. I just wasn't used to it, I guess. I think it might turn off new viewers (like it did myself). It just comes across as very shallow at first (that is, until you start getting into the story). Crazy action, focus on boobs. I dunno.

Also, the Fruits Basket thinpack is only $30... I know it's more of a shoujo anime, but I hear it's pretty good. Recommendations?

First off, i agree that My-HiME is very unfocused in the beginning. It gets good in the middle, although i was left scratching my head a little by the end.

As for Fruits Basket, buy it. It's an amazing series, and although it at first seems like an anime for women, it's one of those anime's that's in everyone's hearts....even if they can't admit it ;).

Alright then, so I'm thinking my next order: Fruits Basket and My-HiME. I can't stop buying anime... need self-restraint. I'm addicted! It's all thanks to you and ItsMeMark, haha. I've even started selling some video games that I don't want/play to fund my addiction.

Seriously though, I just put in an order for the entire Fullmetal Alchemist series and the movie (part on Amazon, part on Target.com... I had some giftcards from Christmas that I hadn't used yet, hehe. Spent $30 out of pocket for everything. :p). I'm going to have a nice collection pretty soon.

EDIT: Also, the Hellsing DVDs are back in stock. Tempting... No. I have got to stop myself.

I just snatched up Shadow Star Narutaru LE DVD 1 with t-shirt for $12 shipped! Last copy or I woulda waited for other sales to get free shipping. :(

Oh wow, I'm gonna wear that thing so proudly. What a great anime.

I started doing that over the last two years. I get more enjoyment from anime, and now I only buy games I intend to play immediately.
