Yep, game only. I wanna drum NOW, and I need a USB mic for the podcast anyway. We should play!
Yes, of course! My summer school ended today, so I'll be online a lot more for the next month. RB1's online multiplayer is nothing special, but we'll have some real fun when 2 comes out.
BTW you should get Too Human too. :)
I'm so excited for The Who...

*puts on sunglasses*

...on July 15.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!
Four long excruciating long days to go.
Four long excruciating long days to go.
Yea, I was so excited at work on Tuesday because the night before I saw the dashboard ad for the Who pack and thought it was coming out this past week. Was pretty upset when I got home and realized I didn't pay attention to the July 15th date. Should be a great pack though.

Note to self, I need to put these songs on the wife's iPod so she will get used to them and sing them in RB next week! ;)
Pretty sure it's more fatiguing. The HO/PO's for Hysteria make it manageable. Getting to the first fast repetitive strumming part about 35% of the way in on Snow is murder
Well after the beginning of Snow its relatively simple while Hysteria is constantly going through most of the song. Either way I found a new song to watch the Leaderboards with. I checked my Hysteria Bass position yesterday and I dropped to the 150s :bomb:

IIRC on Album release weeks, sometimes they put out additional DLC as well? Announcement today?

I don't think we have enough instances to go on yet. AFAIK, the only time they have done additional DLC was with the Pixies. I believe the Cars, Judas Priest and Boston all flew solo in their respective weeks.

You and my roomie should play sometime. I think he's somewhere around #1,000 for overall career score. You two would tear it up.

Yeah, I'm hoping we get some bonus content besides the Who stuff. Perhaps if there isn't an announcement today, we'll get a surprise release during the E3 presentation like MS has done in the past with XBLA games.

DLC question: if my brother downloads a song on his XBL Gamertag, and his and mine are both on the same console, will I be able to play the song on my Gamertag?

Yes, but only if you are playing on the Xbox that the song was originally DLed on.

If your bro DLed it and the original console RRoDed then you would only be able to play his content if he too was logged onto XBL.

fuck Green Grass and High Tides. That last solo is bullshit. I just looked at it in practice mode, and I can't even get the end of it down on 60%. I am going to hire some person to beat it for me.
Agreed. I can blow through the second to last tier with no problems but I can't even finish one freaking song in the last tier. Damn solos keep killing me.
Oh, Yeah, I mean I got a 4 star on Sandman Expert. However, The only song I can beat on the last tier is the Iron Maiden one.

However, there was once a day I thought I never play anything on expert be it Rockband or Guitar Hero. While I know some expert charts are easy than GH. I find them easier myself since I can actually see the freaking HO/PO.

I hear you, i struggled a lot on that. Which part are you having trouble with? I know the snaking pattern messed me up until I read that you should just hit the same 3 notes every time and skip the one that goes back.

That part; where the same 3 go back and forth. Not only does it happen on red, yellow blue, it makes a return on yellow, blue, orange to make sure that it fuckin kills you off :bomb:

I believe Flirtin with Disaster is like 2x as hard.

Someday, I will beat that fucking song.

wow I send back my guitar with the broken strum key... and they send me a replacement that can't even be recognized by the 360... WTF!?!

That is messed up. Did you try syncing it?

You should be able to get through the first one easy enough using overdrive. Try to time it so that overdrive ends before the snaking ends. There's enough overdrive between the two sections to collect and use on the second one, but it won't do any good if you roll it into the overdrive from the first snake instead of saving it. They're holds, so be sure to whammy. It's not enough overdrive to carry you through it, so you will have to be able to play it a little.

Yep, just practice hitting the same 3 notes over and over skipping the 4th. It'll be enough to get you passed those sections. That's how I did it.

Use the solo fret buttons for GG&HT (if you have that guitar). It made those sections insanely easy. All I did was alternate the green and red and then hit the yellow with my other hand at the right moment, I even got 100% on that section a few times.

GG&HT sucked. Hard. It took me a few months of trying every once and a while to finally beat it, and I beat every other song on expert first try.

Just keep at it.

Quick question for all you Rock Band experts, my sons whammy bar on his guitar just sort of broke in his hand today under normal playing conditions(I think the spring broke off inside) will EA fix this for free for us? He got his set for Christmas of last year and it looks like EA is pretty good on replacing faulty equipment.

I think everyone here has had broken strum bars at least once and I don't see why they wouldn't fix the whammy on the Strat. So I say it should be okay.

Funny that there is all the GGaHT talk in the thread again as I got annoyed and finally decided to just torture myself into beating that song on expert guitar this weekend. Well it's finally done and I'm never playing it again.

Now on to stupid Run to the Hills on hard drums.

If you don't want to wait for a replacement.

I have a bunch of the Maisto scale 1:18 model cars. A lot of these cars have springs to simulate the bounce effect of real cars. If you have one unscrew one of these cars take a spring, open up the guitar and just replace the spring. Very easy to do, It worked for me. The guitar's spring is very little thats why they break.

I didn't buy the entire pack only a few songs. So far "Behind Blue Eyes" is my favorite guitar song of the bunch. We need more acoustic stuff.
Anyone have The Who pack?
It's pretty brutal on expert drums.
Did you expect anything different? Keith Moon was a crazy motherfucker with a drumset with about twice as many "pads" as we've got on our drumsets.

It's likely that one of the "hook" ends of the spring broke. For a really easy fix you can just open up the guitar and bend out the next loop on the spring and hook it around where it broke off. Needle nosed pliers are your friend here.
I know this can't be true, but someone on rockband.scorehero said the DLC comes out today for PS3. Can anyone confirm? I doubtttt it.
It's up.
Huh, my arm just fell off after playing Leaving Here by The Who on expert drums.
I played that song 3 times today on expert and I absolutely cannot play it any more.
Who pack is epically awesome. I feel bad for folks that skip out.
Agreed. It is extremely fun and I would imagine that holds true whether you know the songs or not. Chances are, you know more than half of them though.

Ok, call me crazy, but after playing a couple of the Who songs...is this the only DLC that has the "crowd" sing along like they do the disc tracks? I don't know if this is a change from prior DLC or if I just haven't been playing close attention.

It's pretty cool though, I hope more DLC has this from now on.

I noticed that too.

The pack is awesome so far. I got through half of it with JFD, and I love all of them.
