Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now
So this game is my first foray into EXPERT drums. I just played the encore... oww, my poor foot!
I know what you're talking about on the foot pain. I'm trying to make the jump from "Normal" to "Hard", but I just can't seem to get my foot moving fast enough on quick, back-to-back kick pedal notes. Either my ankle starts cramping up or I just can't get my foot back down in time.:wall::wall::wall:

I've been sticking with hard for a while. Occasionally tempted to try expert, but I decided to make Beatles my official transition point. I'll still probably do mostly hard though, especially in a group setting so I don't end up dragging the band down haha
New HOPO mechanics? Did they make the chord ones more... possible now?
http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=463485#463485
New HOPO mechanics? Did they make the chord ones more... possible now?
Yeah, seems like it. I played through the story on expert guitar and didn't have any problems hitting the HOPO chords in The Beatles: Rock Band, unlike in Rock Band 2.

So I ended up playing through the entire story today with a few repeats (Sgt. Pepper, such an awesome dreamscape) and all you need is love. I loved every minute of it. Harmonix really out did themselves with The Beatles Rock Band, the setlist was great, the presentation was outstanding. More DLC can't come soon enough for it.

i sent in a RMA to get my drums replaced and chose the standard shipping method and all i got was a box with no packing material.

am i just suppose to stick the drum body in there without packing materials?

don't they want to check if my drum kit is defective before they send me a new one? shipping my kit to them with no packing materials seems to defeat this purpose.
sorry for the stupid question but what is a hopo?
Hammer On Pull Off. If you go through the tutorial on guitar it'll better tell you, but it's basically a fret on guitar or bass that appears smaller and slightly more white markings on it and usually closeby to a normal fret. That's a hopo fret and basically you can just tap on that fret to hit it without strumming. You usually see abunch of them during a solo or better example would be the riff in Dani California.

Am I better up picking a RB2 or RB1 set? I want to pick up RB and play it casually. Does RB2 come with better instruments? I don't see myself buying much DLC so I'll pretty much just be playing the songs on the disc.

Yes, RB2 instruments are better. Not only are the wireless, but they have a higher build quality overall. The drums alone are worth the difference in price since they are quieter.

They dont send you the new/refurb instrument first anymore?

It depends on the option you choose. The one you refer to puts a hold on your credit card. The other option doesn't require that, but you have to ship your drums first.

Just when I'm ready to declare "FINALLY, a week I can skip the DLC," I notice Tribute at the bottom of the list.
Tribute.
TRIBUTE!!! How awesome is that gonna be?? Thus continues my longest streak of DLC buying ever. Seems like forever since they've had a bad week for me.

I thuink I just pooped a little when I saw Tribute. Vocals should be a blast.

I finally get a small breather on DLC. I'll probably get Tribute and No Time, but that's fewer than I've been getting the past few weeks.

Can anyone recommend a good kick pedal? The original one just stopped registering hits and I bought the Blockhead Hit Kit to replace it. That one ended doing the same thing after only a few months. It pretty much sucked anyway and was a lot smaller than the original. Eventually, I found a way to fix the original, but it's broke again and I don't feel like stripping wires and getting it working again. I know Blockhead makes a more premium pedal, too, but I can't justify buying anything from them again. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but i don't want a POS either. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I'll go with a RB2 bundle and pick up RB1 and the ACDC game on the side. How many total achievements does RB2 have? 1000?

Rock Band: 1000
Rock Band 2: 1000
AC/DC: 250 (all the track packs are 250)

Funny how popular Anvil's been getting all of a sudden considering they were probably one of the looked over 80s bands. Not sure if I'll get anything right away or not, but I see myself possibly getting the anvil pack down the road at least.

This is interesting. I preordered TB:RB from Gamestop online with in-store pickup. I got the game Wednesday and they gave me the rave card for the free 3 songs. Just now, I received an e-mail from them with another code for 3 free songs. Looks like I'm getting 6 free songs out of them.

Anyone actually buy that full bundle? Or one of the standalone BRB guitars? Not interested in the Hofner but I like how the Ricky and Gretch look. I'm interested to know if they actually have more "heft" to them/seem like they are sturdier/more well made/whatever?

Got home late and stayed up until about 3 am going through BRB to get the Day Tripper achievement. Played through everything on expert (choosing the harder instrument for each song). Yeah, safe to say this one is a bit easier than your usual Rock Band game. But holy HOPOMania on some of those later tracks. Jeez. Those HOPO-based achievements look really annoying.

Until you hit the end of the song. Then, it gets interesting. I tried to look up the lyrics; Lyric Wiki just has it as "(vocal interlude)" and "(unknown shouting)."

Tribute's a must-buy once I've got the money. Rock Your Socks is okay, but definitely isn't the song I would've picked. Wonderboy seems like a better choice, but what do I know?

Finally had my Beatles preorder code sent to me today. Used it on Sgt. Pepper tracks, and now just need to wait until November.

I remember when sending my RB2 guitar back there were no packing materials. They literally outlined in the instructions sent with the box that you were just supposed to put the guitar in the box and close it.

Well, I picked up a Stage Kit today for $29.99 at Gamestop.

I'm both excited and scared to use it; I have a small room and I don't want the fog machine to fuck with my stuff

The fog machine and lights have separate switches. You can use the lights without running the fog machine at all. Might be safer that way.

The Beatles Rock Band is so fucking great. The problem I always had with music games is that I only enjoy around 20% of the music so I have to play a bunch of crap that I despise to unlock the good stuff. The Beatles Rock Band is exactly what I dreamed of when I first played a guitar game. Everything about it is perfect. I am a bit biased since I became an instant Beatles fan since the first time I really listened to my Dad's white album CD nearly 20 years ago.

Beat Beatles 17 hours after I picked it up... awesome stuff... now I gotta go back and get some achievements... and then prolly stash it away until Abbey Road is released.

I know I can, but I actually want to get some fog action going

I spent a few hours playing The Beatles: Rock Band at my friend's house while he was sleeping this morning and afternoon. It was truly a very well crafted experience, and I do emphasize the word experience. I played through the entire story mode (with a few breaks) and gained 135 achievement points out of the deal. I'm impressed enough that I am pretty sure the game will be amongst my Toys R Us B2G1 purchases during next month's sale.

If anyone has the code for The Beatles t-shirt for your avatar that they aren't going to use, I'd like it. :)

I'll exchange for +1 CAG trader feedback. Please PM me first if interested before giving out the code. Thanks.

I do not think you are supposed to offer trade feedback as an incentive for a free item unless you are actually trading something.

Those of you who have the stage kit, does the strobe light come on? Played with it for a couple of hours, but it flashed once or twice during one song. Wanna make sure it's working properly.

It depends on the song, but yes mine came on. I'm trying to think of a song that used the strobe light a lot; I want to say Battery by Metallica did, but I'm not sure.
