Traded in Ski-doo and got $20 in credit today (MVP + bonus). Different employee today, but inquired about stacking the same way. He asked the manager and said it was fine, applied MVP first and then scanned the coupon. I know it's not working for most, but the least you should do is ask.

Why do some of you keep saying Edge? Can you use your Edge card on GC cuz that would save me on getting the MVP card. Sorry for noob q but I got to be ready when I do this to get the most out of my mission.

Also can I trade in multiple copies for multiple games? I plan to trade in 3x XBlades/3X Ski Do challenge/3X Chan....lol they'll prolly kick me out the store. If I can use Edge plus the extra $5 thing, I will be happy but I know its YMMV.

OK, how did you swing that? Base trade-in is $13.64 so you should have gotten $18.64 out of it or if you were lucky, $20, if they stacked the MVP on it.

I traded a PS3 X-Blades today (had one from a mistag at Target) and got $23 flat (no MVP). I guess I should have asked about it. I'm not sure how they apply these things. I always assume they apply my MVP and it doesn't work because when I traded multiples I got the MVP on the ones that didn't get the $5 added. So I think there might be more to it than applying the MVP and then scanning the bar code for the $5.

Then I went to Best Buy and realized not only had I forgotten the $5 RZ cert that I was planning to use to get ONE 360 copy, but I forgot the damn Gamer's Club coupon :bomb:

I also didn't have time to go to GS to get Ski-Doo. But that's all because I spent well over an hour at Fry's price adjusting several DS games and buying a ton more ;).

I am not entirely sure.. I looked at the wrong receipt actually...my first onechambara traded in for 23. I think it says base credit 16 ish and MVP stacked on plus the 5 bonus. Then a few days later i got another one and went to another gamecrazy and the value was less..but they also had one on the shelf prior.

This happened to me with GH world tour on wii....at one store i got 11, then i went to store two and got 8. It just seems like they give more based on their stock levels are.

I've traded Onechanbara at 3 different stores and none had it before - got $13.84/$15 for all of them (which matches the iPhone app). My first trade was a week ago (first day of the extra $5 when neither I nor the GC clerks knew about it).

earvcunanan - you put my X-Blades quote in there for PS3 with the extra $5 added. I fixed it (base is $18 for both systems).

Dont look at me....For instance i got quoted 20 dollars for fall out 3 at one store(on 360)

Then went to another gamecrazy 5 miles away and they gave me 25, plus the 5 bonus, plus the MVP... ( nearly 32.50

I visited maybe 7 gamecrazys; some two or so times each to spread the flipping to control suspicion.

I had one blockbuster flip in my hand, gamecrazy at one location said i'd get 10.80 for GH on tour plus 6 for ninja gaiden sigma.

Then i went back to another store and the first value held but for Sigma they would only give 4 dollars. Well that sucked because i was 20 cents short of 15 for the 5 bonus

I see that the value is in the PS3 section, but it can go in the 360 list too.

You can get cash but they will give you less than you would normally get when you get credit. I believe all trade in values in the OP are the credit TIV.

So im thinking of doing some flipping but anyhow the GC site for the coupon(extra $5) is messed up. Can I just print out the yellow looking "ad" or something? Or its not a coupon to begin with? Like does it have a scan bar anywhere? If its just an ad, I can just show them or something.

But then you get cash, instead of store credit.

And all the fees don't equal out to the difference. Shipping is about $2.50 from New York to LA via Media Mail, insertion fee $.10-$.35, PayPal 3% + $.30, and 8.75% of the final price, or about $2. With a shipping charge of $5, you will be covering most of the fees.
 
Media mail? Thats 7 days plus. Then I get some guy complaining that I didn't teleport his game to him in 2 days.

Not worth it for 2-3 bucks. Would rather save up for a ps3. A PS3 for $130-150, is not bad.

That's his problem. You could offer both media mail and priority. If he complains, tell him he should have paid extra for priority.

And for me, it wouldn't just be $3. The nearest gamecrazy is about 20 minutes each way (no traffic). Not only would I have to go their to trade in, but also buy something. I much rather have those $3 to spend online or in the gamestop a few blocks from me.
 
Well, the "complaints" are not what matters - it's when they hammer you on DSR's for not insta-teleporting the game and then you lose out on discounts, etc... I got a game to a guy within 4 days of when he paid (via free shipping no less) and got 1 out of 5 stars on shipping time and fees (WTF!) for my trouble.

Also, doesn't that depend on getting a sealed Ski-Doo, or do used copies sell for that much too? I have 1 used and 1 new copy within reasonable distance, so, really, it's barely worth it for either GC or eBay ;). But if I do manage to get one or both I figure the new one will be gutted and who knows about the used one. In either case, no problem trading to GC, lots of hassle to sell on eBay. And I do sell in eBay but it is most likely not worth it for this - nice to know, though, that if it drops at GC or something, there is an outlet for getting rid of it.

Man, I wish the GC promo went beyond tomorrow - I'm going to have a hard time convincing the family that I need to run around today and tomorrow (getting Ski-Doo, X-Blades and trading some stuff I already have).

How is the extra $5 supposed to be applied? The morons at my GC said the promo ended Labor Day. I trust CAG a lot more than those idiots who got my name wrong when I signed up for the MVP. Did pick up a Wii Rock Band drum set, $20, but not bad since it's helping convince me to sell my Beatles LE set
 
Here's a question, when does GC adjust their trade in values? Is it a set day or just a rolling change whenever they deem it necessary?

Just picked up 2 copies of Ski doo from two different Gamestops. Being their last copies, they were both "Gamestop New". Still undecided if I should sell on eBay or trade in at GC.
Do know that I am going to keep going through gamestops getting more copies.

PS. Does anyone know why gamestop has these at $5, while other stores have them for $30?

Because some gamestop employees never update price stickers? No reason they shouldn't be 5 dollars everywhere.

By other stores, I don't mean other gamestops, I mean other retailers. For example, I went to TRU, and they had Ski Doo for $30.

Well, I managed to snag two new Ski-Doos (one gutted, one sealed!) at one Gamestop which was nice since this was 1 of only 2 stores within 100 miles that had it at all. I then stopped quickly on my way home and traded it for the full $20 ($15 with MVP + $5 bonus). I told the guy someone I knew who worked at GC said the MVP would stack. This was at my "home" store where they did 3 or 4 $5 bonus traded already for me but without stacking the MVP. He said "Oh yeah, who?" so I had to fess up and say someone on the Internet ;). Anyway, he gave it a shot and it worked so then I went and got another game (a different one) out of the car and did it with that as well. A nice quick $40 though it was somewhat stressful - I don't see how you guys get away with trading multiples and having them stack and all that on a regular basis...

My problem is that I still have the other Ski-Doo, an X-Blades from BB, and 3 or 4 other games that I want to trade that all get the $5 bonus by themselves (but only if they stack the MVP with all of them except for X-Blades). I only have tomorrow to do it and I kind of blew off family stuff this evening so I could do what I did today. I'm gonna be in the doghouse bigtime if I try to hit up 2 or 3 GC stores tomorrow :cold:
 
how good is GC at matching other stores TIV's? I am printing out Amazon and TRU TIVs on pikmin BF BC and GH WT to see if they will take them since i already flipped like 3 WT to TRU today and the lady gave me a funny look.
