Starcraft Game Arrangement Thread. Also, buy House of the Dead: Overkill

So, I've been keeping up with the GSI, and decided to start playing again (although I barely played back then). I got the game from http://starcraft.theabyss.eu/, but I'm limited to play in only the Abyss server. Not sure if true CD holders can connect and play, but if so, I'd like to vs you guys.

I played a quick match against a computer earlier (terranvsterran), and got beasted in a little over 12 minutes. That should show you how godly I still am.
Does anyone know how to run StarCraft in windowed mode? Every program/command line code I've found through Google has failed. Old Blizzard titles look like crap on a 24'' widescreen monitor...

I'm also having this problem with WarCraft II Battle.Net Edition...
Go into your video card settings, and click "maintain aspect ratio" or something along those lines. Then it'll give it bars which is better than having it stretch.

Starcraft pro-gaming for the win :bouncy::bouncy:

Fine, fine, don't gotta dog me for trying to be a CAG. I'll try to hunt for a battlechest this weekend.

In the meantime, any good sites with pointers to help me out? I've bookmarked teamliquid, gosugamers, and sc2gg so far, but haven't completely looked through 'em, yet.

well teamliquid is probably the best, but of course, it's one thing to just read stuff, it's another to actually do it. So, you need to practice a lot

Woah sweet. I'm used to just kinda building whatever and hoping it works, and then after about the first 5 minutes I stop building anything cuz I dunno what to do/its too much to manage. I'll check out those sites and see what they say. It'd be awesome to actually have a goal to work towards rather than just building random units.

well the easiest way to learn what the general idea of what to do is watching games (replays, youtube videos, etc)

I'm not much of a replay person, I'm more of a youtube person (this guy uploads like every recent Starcraft match http://www.youtube.com/user/Jon747 )

They're supposed to be a lot easier to get the hang of than Terrans - easier construction, more streamlined tech tree, etc.

I'm on dial-up so downloading replay packs has always been a bitch for me. I've used http://www.artofprotoss.vze.com/ to learn a lot of the basics, though it's quite outdated by now, I'm sure.

I'll go on now, I guess.

EDIT: Just so we're clear, we play Brood War on the USWest server and meet in the channel "CAG".

EDIT2: Okay, so you're not on anymore. You did go on an hour earlier than I said I'd be there...

Eh Crap. I just saw your message on MSN Crotch. I was watching a movie at the time.

I haven't recently gotten back into SC, so I should be playing more.

Well, I was gonna E-mail my boss and tell him that I'll be working again this summer...

... but that can wait. SC now, bitches.

EDIT: Fifteen fucking minutes later, and you guys are gone? Weak.

We tried making games for all 15 of those minutes. Me and choppa and always join each other's games, but Zin can't ever join and we can't join his, so we gave up. It works on occasion, just not that night.

I remember playing this game for a full year during H.S. freshman year...

...and i STILL suck. Of course that was at least 5 years ago ....

(my original record was around 297-299. Blizzard erased it so I had to make a new account :bomb: )

I haven't talked to Jarvis in a while due to the new MSN update taking, like, 8 hours for me to download. Still, any time any of you fine folks wanna roll, I'm up for it.
